  1. Luckily for him, Sylpha saved his ass when she fired off a weak arcanic purple bolt attack at the Troll,
distracting it from their position but now it was coming for her! He rolled his eyes annoyed by the fact it missed the Troll completely. He wasn't going to hold it againt Sylpha but dammit they had to hit this thing hard If they had any hopes of taking it down. The troll itself didn't find it amusing at all, roaring at the Yladian before throwing itself at her, smashing the ground where she had been standing at with it's makeshift weapon, creating a violent eruption omongst thous on the ground with it's club crating a huge crater wheere Sylpha had been.

He felt like stabbing Sola though as she fired off a bolt of light using her blade as a conduit for her energy similarly how he would do it for a number of his abilities. At least she did hit the beast but not for very much damage, leaving only a smoking burnt spot on it's skin and somehow in the process, she managed to blind herself, he was starting to think maybe she shouldn't had a blade in the first place, why did he make her a Katana again? No matter the tale, she did manage to draw the beast from Sylpha but now it was heading for her, beginning with a roar of course before charging at her with all the haste it could muster. Even with this all happening, Seto along with gil who he thought was still behind him was watching to see how things would play out, he needed an opening or a cue of some sort when to jump back beacuse right now, he wasn't too sure how to proceed. Cain on the other hand continued to pick up where he left only moments ago after being sent flying after the Troll's attack. Picking himself up and continuing his song which kept his passive speed bonus going, he also spawned a banner which he also used as a conduit of sorts as his energy power flowed through it, powering his voice, his song became empowered as he sang The Song of the Cross. The magical notes of this song found it's way through the forest, initally catching him off guard until he watched the energies of both songs fusing together and taking form of ebony flames across his blade that screamed at him to charge the enemy head on!

The words scratched at his head, begging him to follow suit on their words, Kurama himself even scratched at from within, telling him to make the charge against the Troll, It was tempting sure but he knew he couldn't charge in recklessly, he had to stick to being a Tank for now, that only became more apparent when he watched in horror as the Troll charged at Cain, now was the time to move! Putting his fingers together again, he teleported himself in front of Cain just as the Troll was about to be on top of the two. Instantly crossing his hands together high in the air over his head, he raced his reserves of energy throughout his body to his hands, quickly turning turning such energy into the vile, dark energy he needed. Agreeing to the pact that was required, the vile energy began drawing his life force away from his body, using it to fuel the spell he was about to cast which caused severe pain to his body for a short time, causing him to moan heavily. Soon enough, the vile purple energy took form around his hands in th shape of an aura before a ray came bursting out from his hands into the air and forming a bubble or force field just as the Troll was about to crash them.

At the last second, the Troll's makeshift weapon or club smashed against the force field, forcing a shockwave to create around the bubble. Frustrated now beyond reasoning, the Troll kept at it, swinging his weapon against the bubble in hopes of breaking it and killing Seto and Cain in the process. Still holding his hands to keep the force field up, he looked back and shouted to Cain "FALL BACK! I'll HOLD IT AS LONG AS I CAN, DON'T WORRY ABOUT NE! THIS THING WILL GET WHAT COMING'S TO IT!" Giving Cain enough time to slip into the woods or further back, eventually, Seto slipped op after his body began to kick out when he had accidentally overloaded his blood vessel in his hand that was gathering energy faster than it could safely transport, causing it to burst which in returned caused internal bleeding. "SON OF A UGHHHH" Cussing out loud, the Troll's makeshift weapon broke through his force field like a bat hitting glass, slamming into the ground only a few feet away. The shockwave from such an attack threw him airborne some fifteen feet away from his previous position, slamming him against an oak tree. After a few minutes, he opened his eyes, his vision was blurry, everything was hard to see but he could still make out targets in the distance and for him, the Troll was easy to spot. The urge to sleep was great but he knew he couldn't, not when that thing was still around!

Picking himself using all the strength he could muster from his body at the moment, he walked to the edge of the forest to find the rest of his teammates only to find the Troll who followed up with his assault on the party by slamming it's other hand on the ground with a green aura, causing vines from tiny to huge to sprout out of the ground and race towards him and the others. Seto sighed heavily as he drew his Odachi as he prepared to cut the vines that would get close to him. In the heat of battle, he forgot an Elder Forest Troll could use naturamancy and now it was biting him in the ass.

Sylpha had made a mistake of engaging it too soon and now had a large troll charging straight for her. Being the furthest person away from the troll, this gave her time to select her spell. Being someone who was totally ready to run away, she had already chosen what to do. It was at this time she was thankful for the system; it was cold, moved her through the casting motions without allowing her intervention and completed the spell in it's own pace. All Sylpha had to do was to keep watch on her environment while she was getting ready to back away.

Kinesis, a classic spell that moved anything and everything provided the concentration and/or the appropriate amount of mana... or Energy, as the system called it. There was no way she was moving that hulking disaster coming her way. So, she put her mana, set the direction and casted it on the one thing she could affect: her own body.

    skill
    Kinesis

Jumping while releasing the spell, she used magical energies to violently throw herself out of harm's way. As the others jumped in to properly engage the Troll, Sylpha was uncontrollably flying, preparing herself mentally for the pain of landing...

Except, instead of striking the ground hard or crashing into a tree, plant vines had crawled up from the surrounding vegetation, having already predicted where Sylpha would land and just growing larger than those binding the others to make up for any miscalculation in distance. It caught her legs, which, compared to others who were getting all four of their limbs bound, was a situation about two limbs better.

...If she wasn't now suspended at least two meters above the ground. Disoriented from the sudden flight she put herself through, she took the moment to recover and reorient herself. She would need to find a way to get herself out and get to the ground safely... or take some damage from a painful fall.

  8. The behemoth got away, chasing the two players that caught its attention. He retracted his long bow and scratched the back of his head out of disappointment. He decided that what happened happened and shrugged off the feeling, emerging from his hiding spot and looting all the dead bodies, acquiring gold with every NPC and player body dead on the ground. If this troll were to reach one of the villages and create a massacre, he’d be able to get more than just what he was collected. However he wasn't that heartless of a bastard, but then again he cannot do much to it since his trapping skill pales that to a novice. Then he came across a warrior with his armor torn, some of his ribs were broken but the injury doesn’t seemed to be fatal, a small steam of blood would trail down to his face and yet he was conscious.

The green hooded fox approached him and drew an healing salve to use, applying a bit of it to the affected area.

“That sigil… you’re part of Dormont’s army, I guess you guys ran into trouble” Stampede remarked as he noticed the object that signifies the injured man as military.

“W-we were a response team sent to intercept the troll after it came into the forests, the Duke said to buy him time until our reinforcement parties arrive, but that thing was stronger than we thought. As you can see I’m probably the only one in my unit alive…” The wounded military man tried to get up only for stampede to put him down.

“Don’t move or you’ll waste my healing salve. Stay here and I’ll see if I can get someone to help.” Before the fox would walk off, the wounded soldier tugged him by the cape.

“A request… please don’t let my sister face that thing.. She’s currently in a party exploring the forests.” Stampede would turn to reply.

“I’m afraid I can’t do that, I must hunt down the troll and lure it to the caves If I can and given how much time has passed and how big the forest is, Its not gonna be easy fulfilling your request. If I know what she looks like, I’ll keep an eye out and send her your way to retrieve you but I’ll need to know what she looks like first” after the wounded soldier described her appearance, the green man set off into the trees, jumping from branch to branch.

With every distance he travels, the tremors produced by the behemoth got stronger and stronger only to notice up ahead what seemed to be some sort of glowing bubble that would soon shatter afterwards. He reached the danger zone and it seems that the behemoth was engaging in a battle against other players. He drew his telescope and looked through to assess the situation.

The thing is too huge to be a forest troll but according to the wiki given by the veterans, it could have been an elder but from what I’m seeing, the wiki isn’t accurate. If this were a regular troll it would have been dealt with easily but this one seems like a real problem, not only does it have that damn mace on its hands to swing around but judging from its surroundings that support it, I’m guessing it knows evocation, Naturamancy. This will be one of my biggest hunts, there’s no doubt that once I dive in there I won’t make it out unscathed, the very least I could do is make preparations while its focusing on that party of players. Since I have no potions that grant me magic resistance, I’ll have to rely on the speed potion which will allow me to at least evade some of the naturmancy but the buff will only last for so long, the potion of lesser resilience can mitigate some damage, at least when I get hurt it won’t be too lethal or at least enough for me to make a hasty retreat after getting hit, finally the potion of lesser instinct which enhances my reaction time and sharpens my senses a little bit. This should be enough… I have multiple hookshots and a good magazine of poison coated bolts ready to fire, inventory check:

    2 hunting knives,
    My crossbow on my forearm
    My bow behind my back,
A full magazine of iron bolts on the crossbow and 3 arrows for the long bow.
Enough hookshots for me to make my attacks and the hook shot holstered.

After assessing the situation he jumped down from a higher branch and landed on one relatively close to where a blue headed woman was suspended, all four of her limbs were tied by vines as a result of the troll’s Naturamancy. Firing four shots of his toxic bolts from above he disabled the vines that held @Sylpha and started jumping from branch to branch, arming his next few shots with his crossbow, he drew his hook shot and fired a bolt with a long rope attached to it as it pulled him at such speeds that Sylpha couldn't have time to see who relieved her of her predicament. He was charging in fast with that troll smashing the ground and throwing logs everywhere, with enough momentum he would at least be fast enough to the point that the troll wouldn't even see him coming. Several more hook shot retracts and swings, he was traveling like a projectile, a piece green clothing beaming straight towards the direction where the troll was.

Unfortunately the Elder troll saw him coming regardless and when he swung its mace at him, Stampede broke out of his momentum and….

“Not today…” Miraculously used it as a platform for him to jump upwards and sprayed his toxin bolts at it. It hit its face but none of them landed in the eyes, the very least the troll would suffer was skin irritation as it covered its face as a result. But then the fox was falling down.

“!!!” He immediately fired a hook shot at another tree and retracted to it. Knowing he would just bump into it and fall, he drew a hunting knife and stabbed it to stop himself from falling. The troll doesn't seem to be too happy about him doing that.

He clicked his tongue and decided to hide and conceal himself within the trees and greenery before the monster takes charge.

Unable to see the sun as it was, the spit on her face had distressed her more than her lack of vision, likely due to the disgust and slight tingling it left her face. It wasn't acidic, but it felt dismaying anyway. Seriously, what was this thing made of?! Well, she'd know soon enough, wouldn't she?

"May you see your- ah!" She'd started her chant, but was startled halfway as the earth beneath her flung her upward, flying straight into a tree, back against the bark. The cloth of her dress had protected her from splinters, but not the impact, which left her dizzied more than her lack of sight did. "Agh...Man that smarts...This thing is a real pain in my..."

Falling to the ground, she landed on her knees and struggled to stand, holding her hand against the tree for stability. Groaning, she opted not to even try to touch their target, at least for the moment. She had a bad feeling others were already in pain- and if she couldn't see them, she couldn't heal them, either.

May you see your strength once more!

It was rare for her to use an aid skill on herself, so she wasn't quite used to the warmth that the holy magic gave when trying to stabilize the soul. The darkness in her eyes slowly dissipated, so she could see the Troll and those around her once more. Unfortunately, due to her disorientation, she couldn't try to do much for a moment. She was going to need a bit of time to adjust to seeing her allies again.

"Is everyone okay so far? Who's hurt? Normally I wouldn't ask this but...Shout it out to me!"

Shielded by that maleficent and yet benign force, Cain watched the magical barrier crack under successive blows from the troll’s mace, but he nevertheless treated, singing all the while. Speed, strength, and defense. There weren’t many more buffs at his disposal that he could use, but the muse continued to sing, dancing backwards until he disappeared into the woods. Another devastating explosion resounded through the battlefield as the barrier was finally pierced, blowing Seto far away. Cain winced as the Fiend Knight crashed against a tree, the trunk cracking from the impact. A heavy blow. Recovery is a must.

Sliding his feet against the ruptured terrain, the muse shifted The Song of the Cross to his feet, channeling it with a dance while swinging his flag about in a much more violent manner, the anger and the tears of Heartbreak Requiem channeled through that. With the third, his lips parted for a song of healing, of redemption on the old road after an accidental slaughter, but before he could, a darker, crueller language, incomprehensible to human ears, sounded.

Ah, the troll wasn’t nearly as stupid as it looked. Dark green energy shone through the cracks in the ground, malevolent vines reaching out to bind Cain. For an instant, those tensile flora wrapped around his legs, but before they got any further, his form dissolved like purple light, the man appearing a few meters off the ground, away from the ensnaring vines, before landing elegantly on his feet, words of healing reverberating from his throat. Another man, cloaked, had joined the fray, but even their blinding toxins failed to have much effect outside of irritating the troll.

    No. Not just irritation.

    Amusement.

Dark words sounded once more, fill with wrath and loathing, as vines that had been evaded or cut down found new life, racing into the forest. Like a contagion, they stabbed into the very trees themselves, channeling the forest troll’s intent. The bark of the Adecus Forest’s great oaks blackened, while the leaves turned a noxious purple. With a poof of, all the leaves scattered, dissolving into a thick poisonous fog to smoke out all the rats clinging onto a false sense of security within the foliage.

Cain, outside the influence of the fog but still aware of the Poison effect that was eroding everyone’s HP bars, upped the volume of his song, burning through more of his strength.

    This was challenging.

    But this was also worthy.

Warm snowdrops splattered against everyone's bodies, the <<Snowmelt Revelry>> increasing HP regen, slowing the pace that the poisonous mist burned through HP.

  19. As the vines zipped through the shrubs and even some tree's across the ground of the forest, Seto readied himself, with his Odachi close to his chest, it became apparent to him he wouldn't be able to count on his eyesight through in this fight, his vision was far too blurry to be useful at this point until he could be healed by Sola......If she was even still alive, he had no idea where she was and there wasn't any time to check either for that matter. Closing his eyes, he drew the same energy from his eyes and ran the surplus energy to his ears, increasing his hearing significantly at the price of not being blind now, at least until he feed his eyes with more energy to suffice to keep them open. Now able to focus to the fullest, He waited and waited until he the slightest of noises were made around him. When the assault began, Seto was ready for it. Out from the trees, the vine horde attacked, throwing themselves at Seto, he turned to his right as the Vines came at him, throwing his blade down vertically, his blade slew through the countless vines thrown at him before throwing himself to his left side where they continued their assault on him. Laying down an another vertical strike, his Odachi's blade ripped into them, ripping them halve. It didn't take long however for the Troll to send more vines after him, eventually surrounding his entire position. It evident he was going to fall to these vines no matter how many he killed but he was sure as hell he wouldn't go down without a fight.

After several minutes, despite his best efforts fending off the unlimited horde of vines thrown at him, no matter how many vertical and horizontal strikes he unleashed at them, he was outgunned, tired, weakened and bloodied, Seto found himself on his knee's, barely able to stand after using so much energy fighting. Vulnerable and weak, he expected the vines to kill him instantly yet instead they decided to do the opposite. The green flora vines attacked at incredible speeds but instead of striking him, they wrapped themselves around his legs and arms before dragging his broken corpse through the forest ground, hitting countless rocks and tree's along the way until he was dragged out into the open and hanging by a thread into the air right in front of the troll. Seemingly the Troll just simply stared at him with his orange glowing eyes as if it was waiting for something on Seto's part to happen. Seto, on the other hand, not being able to see out of his eyes was a good thing, otherwise staring into the belly of the beast would most likely make him shit his greaves like anyone else. He couldn't see the troll but he could hear it groan and he most definitely could smell the damm thing! Not being able to move, he knew he wouldn't survive a direct attack made by the troll, although he was greatly shocked, he refused to panic despite being in danger he most likely couldn't escape from, he knew his chances of survival was small, almost nothing unless..."no" he thought as he shook his head. There were only two things he could do now......well mostly one thing and it would kill him almost instantly but it damage the Troll severely or even kill it perhaps. He could ascend perhaps but in his current condition, he wouldn't survive long in his transformed state but it was still better than his final, last stand technique.

He needed Sola NOW! to heal him right now using her most powerful spell otherwise he might have to revert to his last ability, no matter what would happen, he would kill this damm Troll even If it ended his life as he knew it, he wouldn't fall the King no matter what would transpire in the few moments. Clearing his throat, he yelled out the longest he could at the top of his lungs.

"SOLA?! WHERE IN THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU? I NEED TO YOU HEAL ME WITH YOUR MOST POWERFUL SPELL LIKE YESTERDAY! I EITHER ASCEND DUE TO YOUR HEALING OR USE FINAL DESTINATION TO END THIS FUCKER ONCE AND FOR ALL!"

From inside his mind, Kurama clawed at his inside while laughing at Seto's performance so far during the battle, he was rather amused how Seto was calling out for his prize to heal him so he could use his abilities. Kurama was honour bounded to allow Seto to use his power this one time for this battle since he got to play with his prize earlier, If Seto got any weaker, there was a real chance the seal that housed him in could break and he could take control for himself. He would enjoy the battle much more than Seto could ever but at the moment he content to see what the warrior would do next unless he tried killing himself than he join in and stop him.

Gilgamesh had been darting from treetop to treetop ninja-style and had managed to somehow miraculously survive till now, thanks to his basic stealth and body combat skills coming to his aid. However, the goddess of luck seemed to be losing interest in him now as there were several vicious vines coming at him. To make things worse, the threes that he had relied on for cover till now had betrayed him, spreading their poison and making it even more troublesome for him. He decided at last that enough was enough and leaped high off the tree top cover and towards the troll.

Once airborne, he launched into his attack with what he hoped looked like a semi-decent battle-cry

    "Kugatachi!!"

He attacked relentlessly, bombarding the troll with a combo attack of five thrusts and four different kinds of slashes, hoping it would make some difference. Thankfully, luck had not abandoned him completely yet, so he made a clean hit. However, thanks to the poison afflicted on him by the trees he had used a springboard, it was not as effective as it could have been. As if that was not bad enough, as he was leaping away from the troll after making his attack, the beast let out a blood-curdling roar which caused yet another torrential downpour of spit to rain down upon them and followed that up with an AOE club swing at the entire group which, upon a successful strike, cause mushrooms to spring forth from their bodies.

As Sylpha started thinking about how to free herself from the vines binding her, a quick swooshing sound, several plinks and Sylpha experienced a 2 meter drop. Painful, but with the pain dulled by the game system Sylpha only saw her fall damage and recovered to a standing position quicker than a human untrained for combat would have after a drop like that.

The sight of battle that registered in Sylpha's sight was... worse than expected. She just sent herself flying and now there's logs thrown everywhere destroying the environment, poison gas in the air forcing Sylpha to control her breathing so as to lighten the burden on Solaria. Speaking of Solaria, the yell of Seto calling for heals that could be heard over the Troll was impressive. On the upper hand, Sylpha was far enough that the Troll's club would not reach her - she was fighting from the long range after all.

Bringing up her spell list Sylpha started engaging in the fight again. This time, the Arcanamancy "specialist" just went straight for her big guns.

Purple arcane energies condensed as Sylpha's magical tool wrote the symbols in the air. The target was large, agile and in very dire need of more damage going in it's direction.

So Sylpha just sent the one spell she explicitly knew would do anything.

    skill
    Arcane Ray

The tried and tested Arcane Ray, an Arcanamancy classic that could go by any other name. A beam of condensed purple energy shot forth and struck true despite the violent twisting of it's body as it weilded it's club as a weapon of destruction. Scales broke off of it's chest and skin bursted out, but it's flesh remained relatively untouched. It was going to take more firepower than that to get through the Troll.

Out of the two times Sylpha had attempted to attack it, one succeeded. An accuracy of fifty percent was still very embarrassing for her, so Sylpha went back to her spell list and started to prepare another spell. If she could get into the rhythm of throwing magic at it, she might be able to salvage the situation.

    ...Might.

I was…. once a proud sniper who fought many battles in this false reality
Battles such as this are not uncommon, battles in which I feared the most.
I sat back and shot from a distance while others face the enemy head on without fear.
Without even once thinking of going back
Even if it means holding it down until they can’t shoot anymore so that they can buy time,
Allowing others to take the opportunity and claim victory…
To me, they are noble heroes.. who open paths
Someone that I may never be or something that doesn’t suit me.
But I always have wondered… what would it be like to open a way for others?

The Green Man sought refuge within the trees just 20 meters away from the combat area to perform an inventory check. While disappointed that he didn’t blind the troll, the poison should have went in and created a reaction, causing the troll to take steps backward due to the irritation its feeling. It responded with anger by uprooting more trees and using them as its own projectiles, completely suppressing the entire party. What makes things worse is that its emitting some kind of poison to protect itself from melee attackers. It is also using naturamancy and combined it with his toxic emissions.

Truly this troll must have materials worth collecting to make the most advance of poisons.

He did not hesitate as he took this as the chance to reload his crossbow and prepare his hookshot, in addition to that he knew that burst damage and recoil hits would only do so much as the creature would regenerate its hitpoints little by little. His crossbow can only fire in a burst sequence or a semi-auto and he knows that while successful hits and damage will be dealt, hitpoints will eventually regenerate. So the only option is to hit it hard in one shot that the Elder Troll would have an extremely hard time to regenerate. His toxins were out of the question as the ones he has are only mild to him but harmful to humans.

He drew what he thought to be something that he shouldn’t be using in a forest, bottles of volatile napalm as well as the incendiary bolts that he hasn’t tested yet, let alone tried shooting one in the forest. Mishandling of such flammable materials will create a massive forest fire that will burn acres of trees. Circumstances however have changed and the troll was in the middle of an area that is devoid of those trees, today was an exception.

“I only have one chance…” He understood the conditions and terms, if he succeeds the troll will stop regenerating completely and melt its hitpoints down to significant levels. Should he fail, Seto would die the Muse and the Rogue will suffer severe consequences after inhaling the poison. Their party will lose most of its vanguard by then and the worst of it, a forest fire.

He drank another potion of lesser spped and fired his first hookshot, as he jumped and retracted himself from tree to tree, firing multiple hookshots to gain even more speed. If he had invested in mobility this action wouldn’t have been necessary but he has to make do with what he got and fight with only a few twigs and a pebble.

Circling around the trees, with every stop he threw bottles of volatile liquid right at the beast until he threw 7 of them, coating the behemoth with volatile liquid. During those times, the troll’s naturamancy would have dragged Seto over, Gilgamesh would have made his attack and distracted him, Slypha would have fired a bolt that pushed the troll back.

“Preparations complete…” Thanks to the combined efforts of Astorea’s party members, Stampede was able to succeed and while the creature was disoriented by the multiple attacks it has received, he fired one hookshot up to the tallest tree and jumped as high as he can, along with the lesser speed buff, the force of how the hookshot dragged him upwards, he jumped 10 feet higher than the troll’s height, cutting the rope of his hook gun and drawing his long bow immediately. Upon reaching maximum altitude, he took aim.

“This is my forest…” And fired an incendiary bolt, landing first on the creature’s head making a huge explosion, igniting the volatile liquid and setting the Elder troll ablaze. A pyroclasm so strong that it could rival one of the spells that can be learned through pyromancy.

The Troll roared out in pain, cursing the archer for setting him on fire, as the green hood would fall down, the impact of the explosion and the pyroclasm would have blown him away to a tree, hitting his back hard that he received damage, in addition he fell down from the tree and assumed position before hitting the ground.

He was wounded… his arms and his legs, his back was searing with pain as all he can do is try to get up on all fours, enduring the price of such stupid stunt yet a perfectly executed strike.

He forgot to take an endurance potion.

“Tsk…. Heh..” he chuckled as he hid himself in the bushes.
    “Burn in hell monster…”

@Solaria the party’s medic. Accidentally blinded themselves by their own spell, rendering them unable to see the state of the fight. From what I saw through the scopes, she was able to heal herself and is slowing regaining her sight.

@Cain Darlite – Judging by how he dances on the battlefield, he’s assumed to be a muse of sorts. Because of Solaria’s temporarily inability to heal a party member directly, Cain covered the entire area with his influence, perhaps some sort of healing balm? I’m not so sure… Muses are the strangest class of adventurers Ive ever known. He is currently being besieged by vines and the toxin gas because he was close.

@Seto Kurama - The party leader who took the role of a tank. He is currently facing the creature head on hoping that fire support will completely suppress it, giving him a chance to retaliate with his own brand of strikes, unfortunately he fell victim to the Elder troll’s naturamancy the most and was thrown all over the place. He has been currently dragged out in the open amongst the uprooted trees and lay there, facing the behemoth itself.

@Gilgamesh Ougami – I know there this one party member that kept evading my scope, as he is the one who’s certainly hard to follow. I could assume he hid in refuge amongst the trees, waiting for the right opportunity to strike. He did delivered a fair amount of damage but a single combo wasn’t enough, a small portion of the damage he dealt would slowly be recovered.

@Sylpha Astarte – the blue head that I relieved from the vines earlier by pinning bolts to the ground, corroding the vine and sapping its strength that eventually lost its hold on her. I did not expect such pretty face to possess such mastery over Arcanamancy, fired a powerful bolt that pushed the troll back. If she can do it a few more times, the party might actually have a chance.

The troll – After my failed attempt to blind the creature, I did spray it with all the toxin bolts I can fire out of my crossbow and evaded a lethal strike. Luckily it wasn’t enough agro to cause it to start charging at me as Seto has drawn its full attention. Having used Naturamancy to drag the poor and torn tank, he was then attacked from behind by the team’s rogue followed by a powerful arcane strike from one of its mages. Because of the multiple attacks its receiving, it doesn’t know who to attack.

A flurry of bladed strikes. A ray of arcane might. An arrow of explosive power. And yet, for all the attacks that the troll sustained, the hatred that seethed through its form was merely that of irritation, of the pests that continued to do nothing but sting its thick hide. Too shallow. Not deep enough. The blades scratched the thick hide, only barely drawing blood. The beam blasted off scale and skin, but the flesh remained untouched. The flames burned brightly, but far from the critical strike that would harm the forest troll, it simply pulled a hand against its face, pressing the sticky, flaming material over its great club.

A head that burned like a relentless berserker, the fresh pains only fuelling the troll’s anger. A club that burned like the hammer of a dark god, a hellfire weapon that lit the air aflame with each swing. One powerful, horizontal blow sent Seto, snared and made helpless by creeping vines, flying off again, collapsing a small tree underneath his impact, as fungal growths spread on his body. Another, more calculated brush set the withered vines from the troll’s previous attacks ablaze, the tinder rushing forth into the bushes and the diseased trees. Crackles could be heard as wood smoked, burnt, the poisonous fog’s potency increased by the flames that now burst from within the forest. A ring of fire formed around the clearing, hungry flames devouring the trees that had been toppled or poisoned during the fight, while the bushes blazed violently, searing those that still chose to use foliage for cover from the sixty foot tall beast. It laughed at the hellscape around it, the wonderful aroma of charring flesh wafting in the air as fresh corpses blackened. It laughed even as it groaned in pain, its brain slowly heating up from the flames that marred its face.

It laughed, turned towards Cain and Sylpha, both at a distance, both spellcasters that had chosen to stay in the clearing the entire time.

    It laughed, and it charged.

The songs stopped. Passive buffs that stayed around for a long time were no longer going to cut it. Carefully weaving music was no longer going to cut it. With Solaria occupied, Seto heavily wounded, Gil and Sylpha unable to deal cataclysmic amounts of damage, and everything now basically on fire, Cain knew that there wasn’t going to be any way for them to get out of this situation without sacrifices.

The beast bore down on him, its flaming cudgel lashing out with meteoric force.

    “Blood of my blood.”

The earth shook as the club smashed downwards, but Cain had already teleported, landing on the beast’s wrist. Its other hand closed down on him, ready to squash the bug.

    “Flesh of my flesh.”

Another flicker of light brought him up onto the monster’s elbow, midnight-purple hair streaming. The hat had been lost in the second teleport, accuracy falling apart with consecutive jumps. With a violent shake, the muse lost his footing on the flesh-platform, as the cudgel rose up to bat him into the sky.

“My heart, my thoughts, and all I can see.”

He took that hit, absorbed the impact with his legs. For an instant, the muse blacked out as flesh and bone mixed together, grinding into a bloody pulp. But as the air rushed around him, as his HP bar plummeted rapidly from the powerful strike, Cain’s eyes snapped open once more. He was so high up. So high up that even the troll looked small at a distance.

“Idna, radiant mistress that rules over wisdom, mystery, and magic.”

He was falling now, but also, he was floating, the aria of blood and spirit slowing his descent as a three-dimensional magic array formed around him, a translucent sphere of power.

“My actions, my finale, my devotion, witness it all.”

This was but the first half, the crescendo that built towards the finale. His greatest spell and his first spell, built on a miracle paid for with pain, with blood, with his legs that had become nothing but a numb, pulverized mess.

    “GRAND MAGIC EVOCATION!”

Suspended one hundred feet in the air, the muse sang of the beginning and the end, the precursor to his strongest support spell.

It had taken her time to really gain enough physical and mental stability back to react, leading her teammates downhill waiting for her. Mind no longer quite as blurry and her eyes fully able to see the light among the trees, her eyes watered upon the sight of Seto and Cain's health bars at extremely low levels. An alarm bell began to ring audibly in her ears, a blinking statement in her health information if one were to take a gander.

    [Death Affliction Activated: Martyr Complex]

Her wet eyes stung as she clutched her hands into fists, staring only at the two that were in dire straits, unaware of the rest of their party. The Troll seemed well aware of her, but she didn't even see it in her peripheral vision. Her vision was a black tunnel, staring at two blinking health bars in need of immediate attention.

At least, for once, the Martyr Complex wasn't in full drive. She had enough sanity not to rush in for an attack- at least, for the moment. If she failed to heal them, it would be another story for sure.

Two beams flashed in different directions- one to the critically injured @Seto Kurama, and one to the equally in danger @Cain Darlite. Her Energy dwindled down notably, but she didn't seem to mind it.

...Okay, so she wasn't as sane as she thought- but at least she could help her friends without seeing red, right? That was a good start, wasn't it?

"If you let this bastard kill you, you guys, I'll be taking your life myself the next time! Let's kick this asshole where it hurts!"

  40. This surely felt like the end for him, hanging on by a thread and bleeding out, was their no hope left? He didn't have the answers to the questions he asked. He only knew for sure was that this thing, this Elder Troll could finish him off at any time it wanted but why was it allowing him to live? Did it get some sick joke out of it? Was it savoring it's victory against him? More questions and still no answers. Being blind and not able to see anything, he thought for a moment that his party, even Sola had wthdrew from the battle when there was only silence, thankfully the Troll changed his mind as it began angirly tearing more tree's out of their resting place and tossing them into the nearby forest, most likely trying to eliminate his team mates, being binded to a Vine, he didn't move, nothing changed but the coughing air of poison that took to the air to the troll, it was slowly sapping his life force away and it made it hard to breath. The damm constant coughing alone made it difficult to conentrate for Seto but the added growls and roaring from the Troll made it worse.

Still despite the roaring and caughing, in the corner of his ears, he could hear the faint smashing of glass? No he had to be mistaken surely? Why would anything glass be out of here? They were far enough away from civilization for anything fragile to be here...unless someone was dropping something made out of glass on purpose? Whatever thoughts were thrown out the window as the vines began swinging him in mutliple directions, making him almost sickly like. When he came to his senses, he was sure he was going to die as he heard the familiar sound of a arcanic wave fired at him, he waited for it to kill him yet he only heard the groans of the Troll and the breakage of some rocks or something? He wasn't sure since than after the noise of the arcanic purple wave faded, he heard the sounds of fists clashing below him, was someone seriously trying melee with the Troll? He couldn't grasp his mind around that idea. "Did someone have a death wish?" He thought. The body combat he heard than faded away and for another moment, there was silence yet again.
This silence was interuppted when his ears picked up the noise of a explosion.....right near him......oh shit. It was followed up by intense heat within seconds, he felt his face beginng to peel off as the flames grabbed hold of him and began cooking alive. Although he didn't scream out loud, he couldn't hold it in internally, screaming at the top fo his lungs within his mind, the Troll was effected as well, considering it roar in agony for the pain it was delt. The pain, the fire set ablaze caused by whatever did it caused the Troll to crash into a few tree's nearby with him following behind as the vines screamed in agony, throwing him over the troll by a good fifty feet right into the chest of an ancient oak tree. He was wrong from before, now he was sure he was dying, there was no doubt about it this time, he couldn't see, he couldn't feel his limbs, the only thing he could feel was the dripping of his own blood running down his body and splashing to the ground beflow. He supposed this was to be his fate and rightly so when he was so close to achieving his first objective in this world. Despite everything that had transpired, he had only regret while he lived in this world yet now he knew the pain of other's that told him similar things he was feeling now, he wouldn't be able to talk to that person anymore and tell them what they needed to hear, instead he was going to die here and have a warrior's death......or at least he thought.
Closing his eyes presumly for the last time, he laid their nearly lifeless. he wanted for death like it was an old friend he had known for many years yet....he didn't come, instead came a bright light in his mind, with no other action he could take, he walked through the flash of light in his mind and from it, his eyes flashed open, showing him the Surroundings of where he landed, taking it all in, he could also feel his limbs and the pain....the pain was no longer severe! "ABOUT TIME!"He yelled out to the world, it seemed Sola heard his plea or by some other way she knew he was near death, no matter the reason, he was back in the fight and now he was gonna spill blood for what that damm troll did to him! The Will of Fire that burned within his sould shine brightly, filled with determination......and pure unadulterated rage!......He gritted his teeth as he began to breath angirly through his nose, he was done with that damm troll making a troll out of him, it was the final straw! From within his mind, Kurama laughed to it's extent, this was what it had wanted to see since the beginning of the battle but it also knew he would need guidence to use it's power against the treat.

"Goood.....I can feel your anger boy.......yes......feed on it.....take it from your response of needing my power.......Give in to the anger....that drives you....to FACE DEATH A THOUSAND FOLD! Grab it! and make it.....into your own.

Kurama's words slivered into his mind, in the back of Seto's mind, he knew but....but he didn't care, he had never used Dark Ascension himself before and he would need the help of Kurama whom was willingly to offer him his knowledge. From his words alone, he couldn't explain it but something snapped in him from within the soul itself, he was pissed from before but now it wasn't a will of fire, it was akin to a blazing inferno whom his anger fed from. Spreading his legs apart, he clenched his fist with his blood vessals, reopening his newly healed wounds. As the blood began to drip from his hands to the ground, the ground began to shake slightly as the dust and dirt began to be picked up by the intense air that came out from under his deet. Feeding the burning inferno with his own newly found life energy throughout his body from Sola, the pain became aparent again, causing him to scream out loud yet he didn't move move, determined to see this through the end. Over the next few moments as his mind was consumed by the rage he could barly control, out from his body, slowly a faint, purple aura would shot up around his body and vanish yet again in a endless loop since he wasn't there.

The sudden noise caused by Seto was picked up by the Elder Troll and looked in Seto's direction, hoping to see what was the commotion, essentially ignoring the other party members despite feeling the agony it had felt only a moment ago.

Shouts were going everywhere, the bard flew up into the air and sang songs that somehow managed to reach the ears of everyone down below, energies of both dark and light origin flowing about...

It was a completely chaotic scene playing out in front of the azure-haired Yladian Arcanist. Then, to add to that, she was casting her own spell to throw into the fray. Should she add to the chaos? Was it a good idea? Regardless, Sylpha was paid (read: requested by mass mail) to do so. Therefore, Sylpha's hand did not stop writing, producing glowing magical symbols in the air one after another to complete her spell.

Throwing another projectile straight into that would be a very difficult move and might risk whatever the fiend knight was up to. Therefore, she summoned what energies and force her arcane might could muster directly upon the Troll's chest.

Purple arcane energies gathered from the air as if being sucked into the Troll's chest. While the shade of purple was not the same as the dark purple manifested by the fiend knight, it was hard to distinguish with everything else that was happening around them. The energies continued gathering until...

    Arcane Blast

An implosion of magical power right at the Troll's heart produced an aftereffect with the appearance of a crest, clearly arcane in origin. It was not enough to affect it's heart, but it's foul-coloured flesh and blood spewed outwards from the magical force exerted upon it's body. The incredible agony caused it to groan in pain, but since the spell was exerted upon a specific spatial area rather than thrown at it from a location, it could only blame everything around it.

For that part, the Arcanist could rely on the Fiend Knight, the Rogue and the Healer.

It was spiking up again. A hundred feet up into the air, Solaria’s resplendent Illumancy found its way towards Cain, the powerful holy magic causing his stumpy legs to bubble, to regrow. It was fascinating repulsive and horrifically beautiful, bone sprouting from shattered bits, nerves and veins branching out, flesh expanding outwards as yellow fat veiled the red meat and finally, finally, skin formed, threads of fabric reconstructing itself as his grisly fate rewinded, leaving nothing but the phantom pain and the blood lost in the exchange. Such power, such might! The Fiend Knight’s own health was recovering at the same rapid pace, ballooning in the corner of the midnight-haired muse’s vision.

Indeed, wreathed in flames and darkness, the Fiend Knight’s presence remained strong even within the burning forest, an avatar of malevolent hatred whose screams of agony and vengeance even eclipsed the wordless song that continued to peal out of the muse’s lips. That dark-haired knight was preparing for a finale as well, the Malefimancy that he practiced turning into an engine that funneled his spirit-energy into pure power, the flames dispersing in the presence of such powerful magical forces. A mighty climax, a terrifying individual, and all Cain could do was smile, his hat blown off into the updraft birthed from the hot winds.

The end was near. Regardless of their insignificant progress against the forest troll before, they were now getting to the point where they could most definitely slay that terrible beast. Singular, powerful blows, unleashed with no thoughts of the future. That’s what he had recommended at the start, right? Against such a Dangerous foe, who had complete mastery over the wild and who had such incredibly tough armor, the only way to do this “IS TO GO ALL OUT!”

Wordless, incomprehensible sounds left his mouth, an ancient lullaby that was far removed from the ‘original compositions’ Cain used to augment his magic. It was, after all, The Final Song. The support system that caused one’s strength to skyrocket in exchange for a bevy of debuffs and prohibitions afterwards. Against his skin, dark blue tattoos formed, intricate patterns that twisted up the right side of his face, as that three dimensional magical array, the <<Grand Magic Evocation>> continued to regulate and amplify his energy usage.

    One breath.

Below, Sylpha’s arcane implosion tore at the troll’s chest, rending flesh and scale, finally drawing blood.

    Two breaths.

Below, Solaria shouted out, the demeanor of a cheerful healer lost at the fact that people could, indeed, die in this situation.

    Three breaths.

Cain let the final passage flow, felt the swelling of his dragon veins, felt the thrumming of his soulbeat, as everything began to pop and break.

    Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal

Slowly, the magical array receded, dissipating, and Cain plummeted, chained by gravity once more. But in his hands, he held the power of the Goddesses that he worshipped, and in his gaze, he never once looked away from victory.

    It was close. So close.

    Rip and tear.

Having seen @Sylpha Astarte do some massive damage with the help of a mysterious spell, the healer tried to focus her attention on the others of their team. Seto was already well into his transformation that, due to her past encounters with him, she knew meant she could do nothing to aid his wounds soon. The musically eloquent Cain sang a spell in a language she'd never understand, coating himself in eerie imagery that she could only assume was a curse against his flesh for whatever he'd opted to do. His earliest phrase, however, was ringing well in her ears.

Mind focused on the statement to 'go all out' while her body was still transfixed in a state of severe martyr complex, it was rather hard for her to even think of healing anyone when the danger remained in tact, even if it was injured. "That bastard has caused too many problems," she muttered, her eyes feeling like they could turn red from rage.

Despite knowing not to use her sword as a beacon, she was able to at least direct the holy magic at the hole in the Troll's chest. The strength of the blast, however, was unusually strong and blew her backwards, injuring her with her own magic in the process, likely due to the Martyr Complex trying to drain as much of her energy as possible.

With poison burning her insides and blood slightly seeping from her skin, she growled like an animal, almost pleased to see the crimson-painted grass below her. "That thing...That fucking beast...It WILL go to hell.. if it's the last thing I do!"
