    Sun & Moon

On your exploration of the various bazaars that started popping up in the capital of Astorea as the reconstruction continued on, you can hear people clamoring around a female announcer standing on a platform next to one of the few banks in Astorea. Next to the bank was a small alleyway where two makeshift booths have been set up. One boasted a Sun icon shaped from silver while the other had a Moon icon.

If the set up intrigue you enough that you go out of your way to squeeze yourself through the thick crowd, you would be able to see, up-close, that the woman was young and conventionally attractive. Aside from her expensive, highly-tailored clothes, she had the markings of someone who naturally draws attention from men. Curiously, she had horns on either side of her head, but whether they were genuine or simply accessories, you couldn't tell. Then, you can finally make out what she was saying as you came closer to the platform.

Salutation and well met, if you feel that Endra is smiling upon you today, why not try one of our wagers? Since our service only opens on the weekend, this is a special chance for you to have a chance at winning double or triple your wager!

The rules are very simple, any person who would like to try their luck would be escorted to one of our booths, either the Sun booth, or the Moon booth. Now, the Moon booth is currently out of commission for the weekend so we’re sorry about that. But! In the sun booth, you can wager a minimum of 25g up to a max of 600g, there will be a table where 100 cards are laid face down. There are 1 lights out, 59 sunset cards, 36 sunrise cards, 4 high-sun cards. If you flipped a card and revealed a sunset, you forfeit your wager! If you revealed a sunrise, you win double your wager. And for the mega-price, you win triple your wager if you flipped a high-sun card. Simple right?

To win the trust of our customer and honor Endra’s creed, you can go through the deck before and after you have flipped a card to make sure we are not cheating.

This your chance to win BIG, please stop by and play if you are interested! We will only be doing games on the weekend, come one, come all!

A certain alchemy princess just so happens to wander by and notice the gambling booth. Meruru was so bummed because she could not scrounge up enough money for her workshop still! Maybe... maybe just once...

An incredibly well-endowed eye candy and a chance to win 2 or 3 times his wager? Quinn tried really hard to avoid gambling, but this intrusive, once a week ordeal was far too compelling for the young man to resist. And so, tried as he might, Quinn came up to Melvina and beckoned for her service, though he was immediately referred to another girl who took him around the platform into the Sun booth.

And so Quinn sat there and got the chance to shuffle the deck of 100 cards and laid them out on the table himself. He knew he was in the trouble the moment all the cards are laid out and he had to pick one. Afterwards, he paid the minimum betting amount to start himself off.

“Come on Endra, smile on me today because Quinn needs new shoes…” he said as he flipped over a card.

So, okay, gambling was apparently bad. But this was just a little game. It was basically like a carnival game, right, and people didn't really have any objection to those? Well, okay, sometimes people did.

Doing a bit of quick counting in her head, it was pretty obvious that this wasn't designed to be 'won'. But, why not? She did have a bit extra, and a pleasant surprise was always nice. If she was okay with losing her original wager, then there wasn't really a downside!

(If she was a better psychology student, she would recognize the cognitive dissonance. But, alas, PSYC GU1001 was not a required course.)

Astor had no qualm about spending chump change for entertainment, so he did not pass up the opportunity to try his luck at the silly game. Surely, he'll be able to roll like a King here.

Gwyn was aware her luck was often poor. She also didn't back down from a challenge, even one against Lady Luck herself.
