    OOC THREAD
    Dungeon Theme
As you explored the land of Falderen. You would eventually hear of a yet to be explored cavern that can only be reached by boat or magic along the Dunnstads shoreline. Rumors are that a famed pirate once stored treasure here in their early days before they eventually moved on to become one of the greatest pirate captains to ever sail the seas. Due to the need for specific requirements to enter the dungeon. It has yet to be cleared. What lies with the maw of this cave?

NOTES: This quest is a simple dungeon romp. However it is somewhat harder than a beginner dungeon. Enter if you feel good about your early set up.

    Objectives
    • Explore the cave by the sea and find....?

Having made your way to the cave entrance by crossing the water at the coast. You reach a place where you can set your boat to dock. The surface is above water inside! The water still flows through the cave ever deeper so the need to cross water, either by swimming or other means may be a necessity.

Note: You may also stay in your boat for a additional +10 to all DC rolls as you head through the cave on the river. However it will receive damage on occasion and if it breaks you will be stranded!

The boat was a bit cramped with the make shift extra seat they had bought, but that was the least of Stelluna's worries at the moment. It would be much harder to pilot the boat if the cave's inner sanctum was dark, all sorts of obstacles and rocks would possibly strike the boat. But, with careful use of her Pyromancy, Eldhi's Illumancy and whatever else her other party members did, it should be fine. Speaking of her other party members, she vaguely recognized Verity from the fight with Azog but Cain was a complete mystery to her. Still, they were on a boat together about to head into an unknown cave and it was too late to be having her doubts. Grasping her oar, she used what little seafaring knowledge she had to get it moving into the flowing waters. To her dismay and annoyance, the boat didn't move all that much, in her eyes. Given that some of her armor was quite heavy and the deep waters that hosted all sorts of unknown creatures, it wouldn't be a brilliant idea to start swimming.

To the surprise of no one in particular, the seaside cave was filled with water as well, the salty waters flowing into the mouth of the dark cave. In the front of the medium-sized vessel, Cain sat cross-legged, enjoying the sea breeze as Eldhi propelled the boat forwards, cresting the gentle waves. His curse of consistently bad weather popping up at the worst of times hadn’t yet reared its ugly head, and the muse wanted to enjoy the fine weather as much as he could before proper exploration began.

The blue sky above was soon blotted out by the cave’s ceiling though, Stelluna and Eldhi’s rowing propelling them into the darkened interior as firelight lit up the interior. With water depths that would grow more shallow over time and strong winds that were funneled into the cave’s mouth, the sails had been unfurled, stored away while Cain’s woolen coat fought against the dank chill of the place. There were no clear paths upon which they could walk, but for the time being, their ship was sail-worthy and none of them looked forward to going for a dip into the waters below.

Placing a hand on each side of the boat, the muse began to thump a rhythm into the wooden vessel, substituting for a drum as a sliver of magic fused with the primitive beat, uniting the uneven strokes of his party members as the boat picked up pace, steadily and safely.

He wondered what was even more uncomfortable. The size of this makeshift boat or the sheathed sword on his side of it. At any case, this was his first time attempting a dungeon crawl as he overheard from some players that this was a good way to obtain new equipment or gold. He wasn't interested in power or wealth, but if he wanted to survive this virtual world, he might as well take the risks and take this quest.

As he took one good look at the party he was currently for this dungeon crawl, he noticed that most of them are strangers, people that he never met even inside the game. Somehow, the only exception was Stelluna, which he vaguely recognized her as well in the Prince of Fire battle before. At any case, he felt that this might be a little difficult due to his trust issues to strangers, especially with players.

Regarding the boat though, he felt that it might be moving slowly towards the dock of this place. However, he didn't want to do nothing during the whole trip. Because of his limited knowledge of using a boat from his outdoor trips with his family, he added points to the Seafaring mastery to Novice. This allowed him to help Cain and Stelluna on moving the boat to a steady pace around the seaside dungeon by rowing the boat with the oar.

Speaking of seaside dungeons, he took out some kind of potion bottle filled with light blue liquid. After he heard about this dungeon, he decided to make this potion with the intentions of breathing underwater. However, the problem was the effectiveness and the timing of this situation, fearing that drinking this at the wrong time could mean their lives.

At any case, he returned the bottle to his inventory before he continued rowing the boat with the others helping each other to reach their destination.

    Overwatcher
@Saber Information. There are rumors regarding an untouched cavernous complex by the coast of Dunnstads. Your orders are to explore the seaside cave and retrieve any Prism Gems or Shards you may find. Advise. Highly suggested that you assemble a party, less chance of failure. As long as you keep the Prism Gems, all other loots are inconsequential. You know what to do.

The Overwatcher's message was clear and concise just as Eldhi preferred. Over the time she had spent working as Vermillion's agent, she had found the stoic no-nonsense girl to be her best partner during the missions. Unlike the random Alphabet, psychotic Tenebris, egomaniac Trizzaldi, and slothful Misha, the Overwatcher shared the Justicar's cold calculating efficiency. They got things done and that's all that mattered. No bullshit, no delays.

"Understood." Eldhi sent the curt reply, communicating through the rose embedded in her right shoulder blade. It shall be done.

    ---

Soon enough, she assembled a party of four adventurers including herself. Two of them she already worked with before, the suave Muse Cain Darlite and the fierce warrior Stelluna. The white-haired girl had respect for the latter as fellow warriors while the former... while she used to consider him as a friend, that was back when she was a naive girl full of childish dreams. Now, she wasn't so sure, he was much too privy for his own good judging by their last encounter. However, as long as he kept to himself, he was alright. She couldn't deny the power of his voice after all.

Last but not least, the dark-haired man named Verity, he was a stranger to her but from what she could gather about him, he had a way with the sword and a proficient Alchemist to boot. His skills were useful indeed, only time would tell if they could get along.

As of the moment, the party of four were rowing into the aforementioned seaside cave, using a rather sturdy medium-sized boat they rented together. "Hmm..." The Justicar was near the front, arms rowing while red eyes examining her surroundings for any signs of movements and hostiles.

"Keep on the lookout everyone, a threat may loom ahead or above, or even right under the surface." She advised the party. Quiet so far but caution was highly advised as they were venturing into uncharted areas.

As you travel down a long winding path parallel to the flowing water or perhaps you stayed in your boats and are sailing quietly. You may notice that the path seems to form the outer edge of the coast of Dunnstads from beneath the surface, or at least part of the area. The walls have a tranquil blueish tinge that shows off a wonderful display of natures beauty even in a underground cavern. Stalactites dot the ceiling above you as the gentle sound of flowing water accompanies your journey. Unfortunately, this serene moment is ruined when several sounds of splashing water immediately leads to you facing off with a school of flying Snapper Fish!

Fish. Flying carnivorous fish that tried to attack people on a boat rather than hunting something else. What. It was just like the carnivorous mushrooms in the Mushroom Cave, or possibly the Giant Moths as well. She wasn't quite sure if Giant Moths ate people or just their clothes. Regardless, as they jumped out of the water, teeth all sharp and snapping, Stelluna gave the school an almost lethargic thrust. It speared through a large chunk of the group and the rest of the fish didn't even manage to land a hit on her. She shook off a few of the Snapper Fish's bodies that remained stuck on her spear and idly wondered about setting it on fire. At the least, it would cook them up but decided against it, no need to risk setting the boat on fire dealing with these things. She would save it for more important things and she wasn't feeling all that fired up at the current moment. She said to the others, in case they somehow didn't notice her attacking or the obnoxiously loud snapping jaws of the fish,

"Got a bunch of bitey fish here. Watch your fingers."

The cavernous corridor was quite beautiful by itself as the walls reflected an azure sheen from the clear water below. As expected of an untouched cavern, everything was still pristine here. The stalactites hanging from above roused Eldhi's confidence regarding the possibility of Prism Gems in the area.

"Hmm..." A watchful guardian she might be, the Justicar was still a human with all her flaws as her attention was momentarily taken by a twinkling spot on one of the stalactites. At that very moment, the fickle hands of fate decided to punish her as a school of flying fishes launched from beneath the surface, jaws snapping very much like piranhas.

"Wha-?!" Taken by complete surprise and being near the vessel's bow made her took the full brunt. While she was usually built to withstand blows, the Justicar didn't have time to brace herself as she was unbalanced then unceremoniously pushed overboard by the fishes. A loud splash echoing within the caves. (Fell Overboard)

"Nnngh!" Her heavy armor worked against her as it made her attempt to surface harder, not to mention the fishes swarming her. Gritting her teeth, she literally punched a snapper going for her face then attempted to swim back to the boat.

Despite Eldhi’s warnings, Cain remained affixed to the front of the boat and mesmerized by the rock formations around the seaside cave. The wind had weakened, but its echoing effect was still comfortably spooky, while the lighting effect formed by magical radiance reflecting off the clear waters was quite a thing of beauty. Leaning forwards, the Muse dipped a finger into the waters beneath, watching it cut through gently as the boat pressed on. Definitely a pleasant journey compared to the last time he was at sea, huh?

It was looking aboard, however, that revealed the monsters in the depths. The splashing of fins against water heralded the appearance of a school of snapper fish. Pushing himself backwards, Cain could only watch as Eldhi was tossed overboard by their bullet-like force, the knight and her heavy armor working against her in this watery dungeon. Violent splashes sounded by the boat, while Stelluna, in the back, was already on her feet, striking down the flying fish with her spear. Clenching his own fist, Cain made the snap decision to prioritize the destruction of the snappers before saving Eldhi, arcane power flowing into his fist.

Pulling out his grand banner from otherworldly ether, Cain abandoned power for speed, a simple two-line incantation pouring from his lips as he swung the empowered flag in a crescent towards the school.

“I ask my courage, I strike my resolve
This is my holy sword, behold!
    Cross Rebellion!

An arcane slash perished the beasts that had evaded Stelluna’s blows, leaving only the ones that swarmed Eldhi left.

Terrific. Just when he thought this boat ride was peaceful, fate had to intervene just to mess with him again. This time, some carnivorous fishes are attacking their boat as he held onto the rocking boat to prevent himself from falling into the water. As he did, he tried to find a way to stop these creatures from destroying their only vessel through this cave. Obviously, his sword won't work in this situation, so he had to use the next best thing, which was his Aeromancy spells.

But while he was managed to prevent himself from falling in, one of the snapper fishes bit Verity's left arm as he screamed before he threw it back into the waters. "Tch... I have no time for this fishing havoc." While he felt the pain of his arm, he raised his right arm as he started to recite the spell. "Qui flare ventos, per velum."

    skill
    Breeze Shroud

With those words, a gust of wind quickly blew behind Verity and the boat as it attempted to push the fishes away from it. Hopefully, it might be enough to stop those carnivorous fishes before it's too late.

The flying fish are defeated and the boat slowly drifts forward while Eldhi is left swimming. The ground that could have been traveled on before was now too high for the knight to reach. Leaving her with no choice but to try and get back to the boat. Against the rocky walls of the cavern, that were becoming more and more coral. Were various x's and lines drawn into them. Perhaps left behind by pirates from long ago? Regardless, the slow quiet voyage continued...

With the fish scattered and shredded by their combined assault, Cain picked up a chunk of Snapper Fish that had found its way onto the boat, before tossing it overboard. “Nice work,” the Muse said, grinning at his companions, before walking over to the rear of the vessel. Eldhi was behind them now, floundering in the water and injured from her dunk, white hair a messy strand. Unfortunate, really, but that’d just give her more reason to fight harder in the next encounter, right?

Maybe her masters were watching and having a good, evil cackle.

Entertaining such mean-spirited thoughts, Cain extended his flagpole to Eldhi, pulling her towards the vessel until she could climb aboard. Water dripped off on every part of her body, and the wind chill must have been fairly horrible as well, but Stelluna had enough command over her powers to dry Eldhi off without setting the Fallen Paladin ablaze, right? The muse gave the albino knight a bemused look, before saying, “Welp, better get back to rowing now. The exertion will warm up your bones where fire can’t reach, Scarlet Executioner.”

Taking the front once more, Cain sang a little tune of healing, magical words swirling about energetically as the bites of the fishes reverted, flesh and skin regenerating on Eldhi’s body.

"Verity, is your body still in good shape?"

With the fishes defeated, Verity sighed in relief as he rested in the boat. Considering that he already trained himself with ranged attacks with his spells, it was no trouble for him. In fact, he noticed that his Breeze Shroud spell became a little stronger now. It still dealt little damage, but it managed to push as many of those fishes than the last enemies he used. Because of this, he needed to decide whether to create a new strategy if he can use this and his future spells.

Despite this, he still felt the bite of those snapper fishes as he rubbed his left arm to relieve the pain. He had to admit, for small sea creatures, they sure have a strong bite. Guess he might try to take on Cain's spell just in case. "Sure... But I think that snapper fish's bite might chip off 20% of my HP." He even checked his HP meter for good measure so he won't make a little mistake at this.

With the Snapper Fish taken care of and the danger seemingly passed, Stelluna slightly lowered her guard. The rest of the group seemed to be doing fine and two of the party members had healing magic. Going swimming with such heavy armor and dangerous wildlife nearby wasn't very fun but Eldhi was alive and not that injured so she pushed the thought from her mind. She continued to take stock of the situation, the boat had taken some damage unfortunately, but not enough to warrant using any of the repair kits they had bought and brought. Well, nothing to it but to continue on. Getting a firm grip on an oar once more, she noted that the boat moved much further this time than the last time she had tried. How nice. At this rate, they would get to the proverbial and hopefully not literal bottom of the cavern in a flash.

Injured, wet, and humiliated, Eldhi gritted her teeth as she waddled back to the boat. While she was glad the piscine threats had been dealt with, the Justicar felt nothing but disappointment at herself. Her contribution to the battle had been little to none. Sure, maybe one of them could argue that she took the full brunt of the initial attack, however, it was hardly an achievement if all she did next was fumbling about in the water.

Swallowing down her pride, the Justicar held onto Cain’s flagpole then heaved herself up once she was close enough. Droplets of cold water dripping from her as long alabaster locks clung to her armored form. ”...” She had no time, nor the mood, to humor the Muse’s tease this time. Besides, the ‘title’ would fit Stelluna better anyway. ”Much appreciated.” Expressing hee gratitude for the Muse’s healing, the knight made her way back to her previous position, keen on not repeating the same mistake.

Before she began rowing, however, she noticed the bleeding gash on the Alchemist’s left arm. She might have failed the party during the last fight but she could at least do this. Extending an arm to Verity, Eldhi lay on her hand near the wound, a warm light shining from her palm as she closed up the alchemist’s injury until the only sign of the former injury was the torn patch of cloth. Not even a scar.

”Haa... let’s get a move on.” The knight sighing, picking up the oars then resumed the foray into the Seaside Cavern.
