  3. Physical Condition Mild Poison, Fairly Injured, Partially Winded
Mental Condition Excited by Danger, On Full Alert
    Buffs:

Gilgamesh had gotten some damage in with his last attack and had leaped backward, trying to somersault away, but the shockwave from the troll's AOE club swing had caught him squarely in the chest, so he was slammed hard against one of the trees, causing him to be somewhat winded from having his lungs compressed so suddenly. To make matters worse,he was also bleeding moderately from having one of the branches of the tree he had been slammed into earlier scrape against his chest, and was also feeling the effects of the poison in his system slowly but surely.

Muttering thanks to his lucky stars, he had risen up slowly and ducked into the foliage cover again while using his Rogue skills to try to hide himself from any further damage and had started to watch his teammates attack the troll one after another, finally breaking through its defenses to draw blood and tear into its hulking frame. Some time later, after watching the troll get confused about who to attack, he decided it was a good opportunity to attempt another blind spot strike on the troll, so he leaped high into the air and then fell upon the troll, aiming two wide slashes at it, one horizontal and the other vertical with the cry

    "Twin Dragons!"

Luckily for him, on the first attempt he was on point, doing some more moderate damage to the troll, but on the second he was not so lucky since the poison interfered with his coordination and caused him to slip at the last moment. He sighed, and then leaped away from the troll and somersaulted away towards his group as the troll tried an intimidating roar and swung its club at them again in a wild rage. As he began to watch for his next opportunity while stepping back some to allow his teammates to the forefront, he grumbled, muttering to himself

"What a pain...looks like that attack needs some work...oh well..."

  4. Filled unrelenting rage, Seto roared out in pain as the pain began to become too great for him and his body to sustain, the vile energy required for the transformation he desired so badly weighed him down greatly as his body started to become weaker. it even began hard for himto even breath in this state. Despite being healed by Sola, his wound were now completely opened as they were before, his blood ran down his skin as flled his body to the ground. As the shaking of his body became worse, it felt as If the bones in his body were beginning to snap from the sheer amount of power his body was not generating. Yet despite the pain, there was no thoughts of stopping his ascenion, frustrated all to hell this was taking longer than expected, he was sure as hell he wasn't going to give up now. Finally he was at the end, he could feel it as the pain consumed him yet he did not fall, through his raw determination and allowing his anger to take control, he fed the pain he felt to the vile energy that was consuming his very soul. In the pitch darkness of his soul, there was a spark, upon focusing on it with the little control he had left still, the spark caused an flash following an explosion. Roaring one last time, much louder than before, the pupils and irises of his eyes burnt off completely. At the same time came erupting shockwave from under his feet powerful enough to even move the tree's and kick people off their feet , the shockwave caused the wind to pick up violently as it kickped dirt, mud anything not nailed to the ground to kicked up into the air and thrown in random directions. During the shockwave, the faint yet vile, purple aura that surrounded his body took a more perement form, becoming darker and more vile in appearance with winds kicking up violent around him, causing the ground to kick up smoke all while his aurea ripped around him as violently vile flames.

    "IT'S TIME TO END THIS!"
His rage calling to him draw his Odachi from it's saya, he drew his eyes on the Elder Troll and kept them focused on his target. Placing his fingers on his forehead, using his energy, his body demetialized into the speed, traveling at the speed of sound, he instantly teleported himself mid air infront of the Elder Troll itself. With little self control he had left, he knew what he had to do, gripping his Odachi's hilt with both his hands, he imbued the power of darkness into his blade, causing his blade to take up it's malevolent form as usual. Using some of his own life force in exchange for the damage he needed, the vile energy fed the life force he offered and fed it to the flames of his blade, causing it to enrage. No hesitation Seto launched himself at the Enemy Troll, swinging his Odachi over his head, he used the momentum to unleash nearly a dozen diagonal

    skill
    ABYSSAL STRIKES!

magical slashes released from the Odachi as he swung the blade diagonally down before brining it back up again in another diagonal attack upwards followed by a near dozen horzontal and vertical strikes from his Odachi, each time causing a magical slash on it's own to take shape in succession of the others before it. Not even a few seconds after Seto finally appeared before his party and the Elder Troll, The Elder Troll itself roared out in agony as the magical slashes ripped themselves through the Elder Troll's's entire body and came out the other side like a hot knife cutting through butter. The merciless assault on the Elder Troll by Seto caused tremendous truma as the magical slashes crashed into it's body. It chest while still in once piece somehow, it was clear by the large, deep cuts on it's chest that drizzled in blood that it had taken severe damage from his attacks, the rest of it's body wasn't so lucky with it's left arm crashing to the ground after it was completely severed off by one of Seto's attack's and a portion of it's head was taken off by one of his attack's aw well, it was quite the grisly scene as blood flowed out from the head and down it's body. Even though it was on it's last leg, the Elder Troll was hell determined to not be killed off so easily by Seto, throwing it's right arm down swinging it's club at Seto, using all the might his body could muster, His aura flared up quickly, as Seto quickly clenched his Odachi's hilt. With a powerful swing, Seto's energy-coated Odachi collided straight with the Elder Troll's club, creating a huge shockwave that be heard throughout the entire forest! Sparks of purple and pink electricity sparked from their collision, the ground meters under them visibly cracking and shattering!

Despite the fact he was going toe to toe with the Elder Troll in single combat, he knew he wouldn't be able to hold up against it's monsterous strength for long due to his body was deteriorating faster than he could deal damage it. Pushing his blade one more time with a powerful swing at the Elder Troll, he gathered what energy he had left in body and forced it into his blade using his hands as a conduit, before unleashing a series of

    skill
    Reality Slashes!

Seto threw another series of magical slashes at the beast, with each magical slash following the previous one in succession, slashing right through the thick layers of rock and metal that made up the club and right into the Elder Troll's arm, shredding it right down to the bone itself, temperory disabling it's only arm. The Elder Troll in response having halve of it's brain destroyed, both of it arms gone or disabled and sever bleeding from it's chest caused the beast to fumble back into the tree;s behind it.
Seto had done it.....he managed to severe cripple the bastard that almost killed him and the rest of his party that was with him but that was it, hat's all Seto had left to give by the time he fell back to the ground exhausted. On his knee's now in a puddle of his own blood, he could once again death at the door ringing for him. He could barley think or move at this point, he couldn't believe the awasome power his counterpart could wield but now knew of it's setbacks. The urge to sleep became harder and harder to resist as he laid on his knee's, only his Odachi keeping himself up. He was pretty sure he was goig to die or fall unconscious, he didn't know which but If this was his final moments, he had to report this to the King no matter what. Opening his UI, he scrolled to the in game communication channel, scrolled down the list and clicked on Astor's name before sending him a massage.

"It is....done, The Elder Troll will be dead in moments......I've....done what I can.....my duty...is done".

With the last of his energy drained, Seto immediately fell to the ground face first and laid in his own puddle of blood before he could even close the UI yet the message was sent to the king, The Troll although severly wounded and vunerable to attack to the point it could be killed, it was still alive. Now that Seto was out of the game, it would be upto his party members to finish what he started.

  8. Shockwave upon shockwave, slash upon slash, with reckless abandon, Seto continued to butcher the forest troll, violently, forcefully tearing apart flesh as the troll howled in pain, not expecting such a furious onslaught from a man that looked as if he had already been defeated previously. It was monstrous, no demonic strength, a furious output that Cain knew he could not match, not with his own magic. This was a miracle in its own right, a miracle paid for by blood and spirit towards a dark, foreign god that belonged neither to the Elysid or the Tora. An otherworldly force, a transformation that served as Seto’s Ascension into the realm of demigods.

But even that was not enough. Even then, lying there, bloodied beyond belief, the troll’s regeneration still acted, flesh bubbling, scattered blood flowing back as if a curse of immortality was at work. The brain matter regrew, white bone knitting itself back together before fresh scales poked out of its ruined head. Stubby limbs formed from stumps, while the blood that poured from its body poisoned the earth for decades to come. Even defeated, it was irredeemable, a beast that brought misfortune to everything around it just by existing. But in death, it would grant a single benefit, a singular joy to this misshapen party.

The taste of victory over nigh-insurmountable odds.

A ray of light burst from Cain’s hand, sliding through the flesh walls of the downed beast and into its heart, before bursting outwards, arcane power coursing through every vein of the troll’s body. A dozen refractions. A hundred. A thousand. Countless. White hot power danced like greased lightning through water, circulating through the entirety of the rotten nightmare’s body, shining a purple-tinged incandescence where no light had seen before. It glowed, filling up and up and up like a magical balloon before Cain’s wide eyes. More. He could still force more out. Noxious fumes rose from the still-living monster’s body, agony in its eyes but only arcane power spewing out when it opened its mouth to roar in pain and defiance.

“I shall take the burden of a meteor and crush you in its place.”

There was only one line for this incantation, the closing act to union of the Grand Magic Evocation and the Final Song.

    “Let It End.”

As Cain landed on the troll’s body, the magical power that built up finally burst, bathing the area in light and ashes, a baptismal and a cremation as the ashes were cast skywards, drifting all across the Adecus Forest. Nothing was left now but the bodies, pulverized even further during the melee, and the ring of fire that continued to burn and burn, no one possessing the magic to put out the wretched flames.

It felt like it should have been a greater ending than that. It felt like, for all the troll-slaying that had occurred, all the dramatic final attacks, all the effort that they put in…they had still lost more.

Cain clicked his tongue, before breaking out into a big, fat grin.

“Alright! Nice job guys, we did it! Samurai of the Solar Saber, if you could be kind enough to heal us all up? I must say that after all that fighting, my own bodily health is at an all-time low! Oh, and perhaps someone could call for a platoon of hydromancers too? To deal with this horrid conflagration and all. That would be nice. Real nice.”

His knees gave out beneath him, and the muse flopped onto the ground, sitting on something wet and soft. Ah. Someone’s dismembered right arm. What a pity.

  9. "Can't say I know any hydromancers that're online offhand, but I'll do my own duty with pride." Smiling, the woman cast a couple spells in tandem, having just enough energy to do so despite her mental state being far from normal.

Because of her energy loss throughout the battle, there were points she went from one person to another individually, giving some health potions she'd made rather than healing spells. The primary spell she used was to heal anything she couldn't deal with using her alchemy, such as any mentally acquired debuffs and some more notable parts of the toxins the lot had ingested that her illumancy just couldn't quite eradicate.

Even with the potions at hand, she used up the majority of her remaining energy. The one debuff she could never remove at that moment was her own affliction. Seeing so many so near death was traumatizing her mind, flashbacks from the cause of her mental turmoil coming and going as they pleased. "If everyone's doing better now...I think I'll take a breather..."

With a notable yawn, she found a good spot to curl up. "Someone call for hydromancers while I take a nap...My energy's almost zero...I should've brought more energy drinks...But at least everyone is safe now...Right...?"

  10. After throwing out her most effective spell yet, Sylpha let the others do their thing, because it was clear that with all that massive buildup, she wouldn't able to even finish casting the next spell before all of their built up potential exploded. So she saved her energy.

And it paid off, because now everyone else was dead tired save Sylpha and Gilgamesh. Okay, they weren't dead, but they would be dead soon if they didn't get out of this place with the fire raging on. Even if most of the trees were broken, their immediate area was a very bad idea for a resting spot.

Moving over to her fellow Yladian Solaria, Sylpha called out to the feline rogue. "Mr. Ougami, go get Sir Kurama!" She wasn't too sure why she used honorifics (or the wrong ones) when barking out some important order, but the biggest priority was leaving the area.

Picking up Solaria, Sylpha immediately turned and went to Cain. "You move too. Staying here is a bad idea."

Unfortunately, Sylpha only had enough ability and energy to deal with one person. Just moving Solaria alone would be costing her energy so she couldn't cast telekinetic or teleportation spells without expending all her energy and leaving herself vulnerable. Even then, she didn't learn any teleportation spells so that wasn't even an option to begin with.

At the end of the day, physical labour is still provides the most efficient results. How embarrassing for an aspiring arcanist. She would have to go back and work on that as well as her basic offensive spells before trying anything like this again.

  11. Gilgamesh had been watching the chaos of the battle against the troll and saw how Seto Kurama was completely exhausted from his efforts against the beast and was about to charge in once more to deliver one of the final strikes when he heard one of his other compatriots in the fight, namely one young woman named Sylpha call out to him, telling him to rescue Seto so they could make their retreat out of the area before the whole party would be in danger of total annihilation. He sighed softly and since he clearly saw no one else he could delegate the task to in order to save his own energy, he decided to take up the rescue request, a decision that was quite unlike him considering his true self. However, considering Seto had done so much for him, he figured it was only fair

So while keeping half his attention on the surroundings, he quickly activated two of his Rogue skills in quick sequence, the first to boost his movement speed

"Art of the Rogue - Swift Step: Heavenly Striding Speed!"

A split second later, he activated the second one to cloak himself in order to remain hidden from the enemy

"Art of the Rogue - Cloaking: Stealth Skin!"

With these two in place, he dashed in a blur of motion toward where Seto lay exhausted, picked him up, and luckily was not detected by the enemy as he made his way toward @Sylpha Astarte. Once there, he deactivated both skills so they wouldn't drain his energy any longer and spoke, panting somewhat

"Here...I have...successfully managed to...retrieve Sir Kurama, Ms. Astarte...just give me a moment to catch my breath...and then we can head out with the rest of our group..."

With that, he fell silent, focusing on regaining his composure and slowly, but surely his respiratory rate went back to normal and he awaited Sylpha's next orders.

  12. The hunter was already back on his feet, drawing his scope to see what had happened to the troll, only to have been shocked by the fact that it dissolved before the attack of that muse. He put his telescope away, obviously angry at the fact that nearly nothing was left of that troll, he could have used the blood as a great addition to his poisons but all that effort he did was wasted. He was angry but nonetheless he at least learned a few things out of this.

For one his incendiary bolts were working perfectly and did quite the damage on the beast, burning it in such a way that it couldn’t regenerate allowing the consecutive attacks to finish it off. He should have been ok into making a small forest fire as long as he manages to grab to loot but such things didn’t go as planned. Then again it would be boring if everything went accordingly and yet lip bitting.

Second he was able to grasp the abilities of a muse, while he had find it strange at first, they were quite formidable foes given that they have enough support, their abilities would only merit them as valuable support members in a party but alone, they are open to attacks. Finally he was able to learn of the Duke’s powers as well but all in all he would have left when the fire slowly started to build up.

It was the Duke’s problem now.

He would then flee back into the forest to continue looting the bodies of the troll’s victims only to see a particular one drained off life. She was ripped in half and died of blood loss.

…this was the soldier’s sister and while he hates to be the bearer of bad news, he just had to tell him. But speaking of the devil, here he comes, limping his way over towards the smoke signal to investigate what happened but when he saw Stampede and the body of his dead sister, he fell on his knees and began to cry, gripping the body of his sister. A sorrowful mourn for the loss of someone dear to him.

“I’m sorry for your loss but I just wished I arrived sooner” his tone darkened as his figure sank into the shrubs, leaving the soldier to cry out in pain. It was a shame even.... he had a beautiful looking sister too.

  13. The fight was done. The healing was done. Everything was done, except for the fire that continued to smoulder, searing away the land and turning this section of the forest into a wasteland. In the corner of his eye, Cain caught the appearance of a green-hooded individual bringing a body away, but paid that individual no particular attention. There were more pressing concerns, after all, with Seto more or less passed out and Solaria deciding out of the blue to just…take a nap.

His body protested as he rose from the bloody ‘seat’, stretching out with a crick-crack. After the adrenaline high had dispersed, Cain could feel the full extent of his body’s pains, from the bruises in his bones to the emptiness of his soul. There were probably smarter ways of engaging that fight. Probably ways they could have done this without being flat-out massacred. But, when it came down to it…a group of newbies and a couple of veterans managed to take down a sixty foot tall monstrosity all by themselves, after it had slain companies of soldiers. Something to be proud of. That was definitely it.

“Alright!” The muse exclaimed, slapping his cheeks and working himself up, “Let’s head back! After all this grand adventuring, Seto’s definitely paying for our drinks!”

He almost fell over when he took his first step, but Cain recovered quickly enough, gritting his teeth and forcing his recently pulverized legs to obey him. Walking over to Sylpha, the muse considered his own levels of strength, before deciding that he didn’t care for what the game told him he could do.

“Here,” Cain said energetically, “Lemme help you with Solaria. Must be tired from the fight, right, Lady Sylpha?”

It would make his own state more miserable, what with his own low energy levels, but the muse was fine with that. After all, he thrived under such situations! A cheery tune whistling through his lips, he pressed on as the world burned around him, a jester walking out of the apocalypse.

  14. Gilgamesh Ougami didn't seem to disobey the order despite Sylpha having no real authority, with those that did now being... asleep. And being carried by the two. He rushed nearer to the blaze, pulled out the Fiend Knight and rushed back, asking for a breather before they continued.

The Yladian arcanist took that time to turn her attention back to Cain Darlite. It seemed like he, too, suffered a heavier toll in the fight. Sylpha could afford him stumbling, but definitely not falling over and sleeping like the other two being carried right now.

"Nay, Sir Cain" She said. "Not 'till you stop stumbling. We'll talk about sharing the burden then."

With that, she finally spoke the final line.

    "Let's move out."

And with that, the party left the scene of putrid death, having faced the horror and survived intact unlike the many who came before them.

As they trod back through the forest, Sylpha couldn't help but think back to the time she was caught in the vines. Someone set her free, but it did not appear to be Gilgamesh, Solaria or even Cain. All she caught a glimpse of was a flash of something green, though she could not register what it was exactly thanks to falling from the vines. It was the same existence that seemed to set the Troll on fire as well.

Who, or what was that existence exactly? Whatever it was, it didn't seem to stick around to give Sylpha a chance to thank it. All she could do was note it in her head and pray she found a clue later in time.

Perhaps she may find out in the future.
    Perhaps she may never know.
But for now, she let the inquisitive thoughts run through her head as a distraction as they walked.
