  1. "I guess it's good to have a spare blade..." Sean muttered to himself. "Okay, let's go." Sean started to walk out the door until he suddenly stopped. "I should probably let you lead, since you know more about this place than I do." He stepped back in and leaned against the wekk. "Just point out any weapon shops you see, okay? I have a tendency to miss things."

  2. She followed swiftly, forcing her hair behind her ear when it began to try to get in her way upon a breeze. Being told to lead made her giggle a bit as she moved to fluff up the hair of the man in question. His request was somehow comedic to her- yet surely she'd made such a request once of someone, hadn't she?

"You leave leading to me, but don't forget to try to study your surroundings too. It'd be bad if I wasn't there next time you go shopping otherwise, wouldn't it?" Holding her head high, she lead the way with a brisk pace, already knowing where one shop to look at was. "This shop is one I've gone to before. They have some good stuff...And you're allowed to take test swing, too. Just...Obviously not on people."

  3. "Ah, so I can get my first non-starter weapon!" Sean grinned at the experience of having a weapon other than a starter sword to call his own as he followed Solaria into the shop. "I'm gonna take a look around," He told her as he walked over to the swords. "Ah, let's try a greatsword." He picked up the greatsword-or, rather, he placed the greatsword on his shoulder-and went to the testing area. Trying to take a swing was like using a flail; slow and heavy. "Yeah, this won't work," He exclaimed, putting the greatsword back where it was.

  4. She'd only been using one specific sword lately, and she knew it was getting a bit worn out. Considering they were already at a weapon's shop, she took a chance to test some of the simpler swords that were in her current area of usability. "To be honest, I haven't been sword shopping in a while...Uchi's all I use nowadays, but giving 'er a break would probably make her creator happy. He got mad last time he saw her."

Taking a lighter sword for some fun, she followed Sean to the testing spot, swinging the one she'd brought and then offering it to him. "I took this one for fun first. It should be in your usability range, so why don't you give it a whirl too? It feels almost too light to me, personally- but it might fit you a lot better, since your style involves a lot more acrobatic movements."

  5. "Ah, thanks!" Sean chirped, taking the sword. Feeling it out, he could tell that it felt a bit lighter than a golf club to him. Taking stance, he performed a quick vertical slice. "Wow, my movements feel so smooth. Maybe I should get this..." He pondered for a second. "I'll check out some other swords in case I like another one better. For now, I'll put it here." He placed the sword leaning against the wall. "Don't worry, I'll put it where it belongs if I decide not to get it." He went over to the swords again and started to search through them.

  6. "Glad you like it, whether you choose it or not. I'm just proud I found one that might suit you!" Grinning, she wandered back to racks of swords and pulled a more advanced one for herself. It wasn't her preferred type- it was a short sword and far from being like a katana- but when she went to swing it, it didn't feel too bad. "I've always been biased with swords for myself. But this one does have it's advantages...I wish I could find another katana though."

  7. After taking a look around, Sean sighed. "I'm taking the one you suggested." He walked back over to the sword he had placed leaning against the wall and picked it up. After examing the sword one last time, he brought it to the counter and purchased it. "So, have you found anything you like yet?"

  8. "I found an interesting two-handed one, but...It's a little out of my price range right now. I'll have to come back for it in a few days and hope it's still here. I haven't seen a sword like this before." Setting the sword back from whence it came, she sighed softly and looked a bit more. "I was thinking of learning to fight with a two-handed sword, but...So far, it doesn't look like I can find one that fits my needs. At least, not yet."

  9. "So I guess we're done here?" Sean walked over to the door and leaned on the nearby wall. "What are we gonna do next? Maybe we should get some sleep?" Sean started to think to himself. "Maybe we can pick up a quest?" He seemed to start to go into his own little fantasy world. "Imagine if we got a quest to rescue somebody then they gave us a ton of money as thanks..."

  10. Following to the door with a brisk pace, the woman waved to the sales clerk before taking a few steps outside, keeping the door open for Sean while he was leaning just near it. "We could take on a quest, but sleep is probably a better idea. I'm running low on rest, and I have to get offline soon anyway. If you want, I can give you my inbox info so you can message me next time you wanna get together. We'll look for a quest together then. I can't say if we'll find a quest quite like your idea, but...At least we'll be able to help someone, you know?"

  11. "Yeah, we should probably find an inn," Sean nodded as he stepped out of the shop. "Thanks. So, the inns would be... Wait, don't we have maps in our GUI?" He pulled up his menu and looked for a Map tab. "Don't see it yet... Wait, I almost forgot I read up on an 'Investigation Mode' before playing, why am I not using it?" He closed his menu swiftly and activated Investigation Mode, his eyes shining a bright purple. "The Inn is that way," he exclaimed, pointing in a direction. "Let's go get some rest." He disabled Investigation Mode before walking in that direction.

  12. It was almost surprising how quickly the young man was catching up to her in basic understanding- it had taken her some fair amount of time to really figure out how investigation mode and the like worked, after all. Not one who really did many games that required more fancy maneuvers like a virtual reality game, Solaria would have to dig into Sean's mind a bit deeper on their way to the inn.

But wait. Why were they going to an inn? "You know, you don't have to go to inns to rest. I mean, you can, but...We can log off anywhere, and we can even take a 'rest' in the wild and sleep while still in game, if you're in a safe enough zone....Did you want to try the inn for any particular reason?"

  13. "Well, we can rest in a bed if we go to an inn, which is comfortable," Sean explained before going off on a tangent. "Why would somebody prefer to sleep next to a tree instead of in an inn anyway? You can always get more money. Money shouldn't even be a problem!" It didn't seem like he'd stop for some time.

  14. Giggling as she listened to his tangent, she couldn't help but realize that she was beginning to feel a bit like her own best friend. Offline, Solaria had tendencies to go into tangents much like she did in games- but it was a lot less noticed except with a few people. For the most part, the one to listen to most of her tangents was her best friend. And while she often was told she went on tangents, she hadn't really heard herself on one before (because really, who listens to their own rambling and notices?).

"It depends a lot on where you are when you're going to rest, I guess. There's also the matter of it being different if you're logging off than if you're staying logged in while you sleep. If you're logged out when you rest, you won't exactly feel whatever your character is resting on, right? But if you do sleep in the game...Yeah, any normal person would probably prefer a bed. As long as you're not lost in the woods or on a mountain, shouldn't be hard to find them!"

  15. "I guess you're right..." Sean finally came to his senses. "I think we're here," Sean exclaimed, stopping in front of an inn. "I guess reading can be useful once in a while..." He chuckled to himself. "Let's get some rooms, okay?" He hastily walked inside.
