You stir awake from the continuous and relentless sound of a water dripping somewhere and the overpowering scent of mold. As your eyes adjust to the darkness of your surroundings, you could feel your bare skin against the cold stone floor. You are able to recall the long march you had to do as Falderen’s prisoners with the bag over your head, but you can’t remember your arrival at all. Given that you have been stripped of your belonging and had had your attire replaced with dirty rag, all the while having your wrists bound by rope, you can assume that your captives had knocked you out before they turned you into the model image of a prisoner.

Once your eyes have adapted to the darkness, you realize that you are among acquaintances. With the moonlight piercing through a hole too small to call a window, you can see that you are in a prison cell. If you walked up to the barred door (1) and looked, you can see down a long and dark hallway straight ahead (A). If you turned to your left you can see a dark hallway (B) identical to the one straight ahead. This hallway, however, had a dimmed light source that you can barely see due to the angle of the door.

You are able to use your palm menu, however, the communication button was grayed out. If you went into your inventory, you will see that it is completely empty. If you tapped on the logout button, a warning popped up saying that due to you being in a dangerous area, your character will immediately die if you go through with it.

Looking around, you noticed a few things...
    • Up at the corner of the room (3) is a large stone with very sharp edge, subtly jutting outward from the ceiling.
    • In the other side of the room (4), a large tile seemed to be slightly upturned beneath the dirty straw covering it.
    • Beneath the tiny light hole (5) are few rotting, wooden spoons with very dulled tip, it seemed some poor bastard tried to carve their way out.
    • Now that you are of sound mind, you can hear the sound of dripping water more clearly (2)
    • Lastly, you can see a guard with a torch coming down from hallway A, stopping at your cell and looking inside with his creepy ringed-eyes before moving down hallway B. With the clock from your palm menu, 2 hours later, you noticed that a mage with a blueish light came down the hall and doing some kind of gestures at the wall and passed by your cell without looking in. 2 hours later, the guard with the torch returned; it was a set routine!

Alpha stared at the upturned tile with a critical glance before looking back and forth, hoping there would be no witnesses in the complete darkness. The small dialogue she had with the others did not deter her in the least; she continued onward, alone if she must, to free herself. Afterwards, she'd go and get Terry herself and make those traitors pay.

She crawled slowly, her hands bounded and her body injured. With a deep breath, she began rubbing the ends of the rope against the rough granite. Friction would do the trick of loosening the ropes up. Her wrists wriggled and struggled to throw the thick string off. Maybe after this she could get a closer look at the tantalizing rock positioned atop the ceiling.

"How're you guys holding up?" she whispered as her mind was concentrated on getting herself untied.

Action: Free herself of the ropes by creating friction using the floor tile.

Looks it was time to put the plan into action. If there was one thing a agent had to do sometimes, it was take chances, it was just best to cut down the possible results as much as one could and be ready to deal with any and all consequences. This was one reason Beretta preferred to work alone in the real world. The more help, the more heads... sadly meant the most opinions and people who may be needed to perform beyond their ability causing deluded outcomes. Hence this situation they were in now. All due to lack of analyzing and a false sense of trust created from lies rather than truths. Well, the past is the past. Now it was time to right the wrongs and perhaps learn some things about the AI in this game.

Beretta had given her advice in hushed tones to the others present in her cell. Placing more than one prisoner in a cell was a poor choice for the enemy. The group should have been gagged. Well, all the better for the escape to go smoothly. Following the plan she gave to the others. Beretta began to work on the ropes around her wrists by trying to use the sharp rock jutting down from above...

Hopefully everyone worked together here and Beretta's agent training could pull them through. In game power would matter more later... now was the time for specialization. In a way... she preferred this to the Azog.

Action: Free self from ropes using the sharp rock in the corner. Then awaits the others to follow the plan she purposed or another.

"Ungh..." Accepting @Amane Hirota 's party invitation, the exhausted Paladin looked over at the Priestess' masteries... seemed familiar, oh right. They were together along with Ursa and Corvella, brute-forcing their way to reach the rendezvous location, only to be betrayed by the Falderens. This treachery must not stand, she would enact righteous vengeance upon them! "Yeah..." The Paladin growled, anger rising in her voice, "I feel weakened as well, only my magic... but damn them if they think they can cage me, cage us."

"We will." Eldhi regarded her friend, @Alphabet Chocolate , it was rare to hear the Ninja girl being so vindictive but she wasn't surprised due to their situation. Hey, Eldhi wanted to do those too, she'd behead each and every last one of the traitors. Now if only she could free herself and get back her sword. In the name of Order, her azure longsword, The Judicator, shall punish them.

Last but not least, the oldest and calmest member of the group, @Beretta diffused any growing frustration, panic, fear, or anger with her collected stoic voice. Definitely a personality very much welcomed in these kinds of situations. The light purple-haired woman quickly settled herself to be the Team Leader, whether consciously or not, as the Paladin turned to her, listening to her each and every word.

She noted important facts and formulated an action plan, be careful on the use of magic and reminding how the NPCs somehow blocked essential Palm Menu features. Damn them, as said before, whoever designed this unfair difficulty spike should be fired, fired and jailed for torturing the players.

"I hear you, Ma'am." Calmed down by Beretta's cool demeanor. Alpha would use the tile to cut her ropes, so maybe she could use the jutting rock? Unfortunately, she wasn't tall enough for that so... she could try distracting that guard. If anyone could tank hits, it was her. "I will taunt the guard when he returns but right now, this cursed rope..."

Taking a deep breath, Eldhi focused what was left of her arcane powers, flowed strength into her already deceptively strong slim arms, then grunted. "Nnngh...!" Gritting her teeth, she pulled at the ropes binding her wrists, giving it her all at snapping them. She didn't know if she was strong enough but damned if she would just stay here and be a Damsel in Distress.

Action: Uses her Illumancy-buffed strength to try snapping the ropes.

Amane blinked awake into pitch blackness, shadows skirting at the edges of her vision, faint moonlight caressing the walls of the room, but hardly penetrating deep enough to illumine any details definitively. It was night already? ...How much time had passed? Her head was groggy, and try as she might she couldn't ascertain how exactly she ended up here; the last thing she remembered was being forced to walk by the Falderen soldiers, but now... As her eyes adjusted to the dark, the outline of prison bars became clear, as did the shape of three other figures in the room. It seemed like...she was captured and imprisoned, and she wasn't the only one. Who else...?

A short conversation later, and her headache had mostly faded into a dull throb: distracting, but no longer the splitting hindrance that it was before. Oh thank goodness Eldhi was alright — at least one member of her party was accounted for. She remembered fighting alongside Alpha on a couple of adventures before, and she was glad that the young girl made it alive too. As for the long haired woman who had taken charged...she looked vaguely familiar. Maybe they had fought together in one of the major battles? Either way, she seemed like she had a good head on her shoulders — with someone who could plan solidly, they'll all be more likely to survive. On the bright side, at least no one was panicking. At Beretta's words, some sort of quiet determination had settled around the group, and the others began freeing themselves.

Pushing herself up with her shoulders and propping herself on one of the walls, Amane closed her eyes for a few seconds, succumbing, just for a while, to the bone deep weariness that hung around her like a shroud, almost strangling in its oppressiveness. Was she that injured? ...Or could this be magically induced somehow? Gazing lethargically at her interface, she gave a quick shake of her head to dispel the exhaustion. The guard could come back soon: she should do something to help. "I'm casting something with a light energy consumption just in case it backfires on us." she warned. "If it does...sorry about that." Whispering an incantation under her breath, she tried to cast one of the simpler group heals that were at her disposal, expecting the faint light to wash over the prison cell. She couldn't free her hands yet, but she trusted that the others would help her with that once they get free.

Action: Casting a group heal, preferably a lighter one that heals less, but consumes less energy.

@Alphabet Chocolate tenacious use of the floor tile eventually generate enough friction to cut through the ropes, freeing herself.

@Beretta too also managed to free herself through the sharp rocks hanging down from the ceiling. Though, the rock became unstable the more she rubbed her bound hand against it, eventually dropping down on her, before the dirt and sand filling in the wall caked her face.

@Eldhi found her magic far too weak to increase her strength in any substantial way. Though, she did stretch the binding a bit, it would only require minor help from the others to free her of her bondage.

@Amane Hirota had a difficult time controlling her magic, especially given her bound-state. Thankfully, her affinity for the light was so strong that it helped override a bit of her conditions. Amane heals everyone for 3HP (costs 6EN)

Given that Beretta made a ruckus, you can hear the sounds of people coming all the way down from hallway B, accompanied by a faint light, most likely from some kind of torch. From where you were, you can hear footsteps, fortunately, they never reach your cell before the noise stopped.

After the commotion died down, if any of you looked at the time in your palm menu, it was roughly 19:00 you would see that there is about 45 minutes left before the patrolling guard pass by your cell once more (19:45). The cell remain as large and as cold as ever. The temperature is quickly dropping as the wind slipped in through the tiny hole all the way on the top.

    Notes:
    • Please be careful in how you describe your action. Remember that everything is an attempt!
    • Everyone heals for 3HP
    • @Amane Hirota loses 6EN
    • @Beretta and @Alphabet Chocolate no have longer bound-wrist.
    • It only take minor action to free Eldhi and Amane.

A finger went to her mouth as she quietly hushed the others. After a few seconds listening to the sounds in the hall. Beretta continued to guide the others. Not much had been yet and they were now leaning on her experience to get by. While a good thing... it was a bit telling as to the professions of these players in real life. They were all just normal people, playing a game. Were they afraid of how things transpired? Bothered? Was it just fun? All of them to some degree were committing a crime by even being here. Funny, considering they were now imprisoned.

Wiping the grime off her face with her arm during the moment of silence. This place was falling apart. Now it was looking more like a temporary prison from this evidence, rather than a fully functional jail.

Her contemplation went on as she helped Eldhi out of her bondage. Then she nodded and spoke.

"In positions. We need the guards attention. Make it good or we have no choice but to use more direct means to get out of here."

Action: Free Eldhi, return to original location and pretend to be cuffed.

Beretta’s instructions were reasonable and, for the time being, Alpha had no trouble keeping up with the purple-haired girl’s plans. She gave a small, almost cheery, wave at the familiar Eldhi as she ran over to Amane’s side. She tugged at the ropes a few times before she glided on over to the sharp rock which had dropped atop her. With a concealed giggle, she slowly made her way beside the door and dropped down into a cross-legged seating position.

The sounds of footsteps resounded through the silence but, to Alpha’s relief, ceased before any sort of confrontation could potentially occur. The utter quiet had reigned once again.

A chill seeped down Alpha’s back and that was all the encouragement she needed before she tossed a mischievous, almost cruel, smirk to the other girls. And then she spasmed. She tucked the rock to her side with one hand as her other limb clutched her chest. Coughs and thumps echoed through the cell and screams arose. It wasn’t as loud as a scream ought to be (it was more of a moan, really) but it should be just enough to catch the guards’ attention.

“Gah. Help...I’m dying! I’m dying! Please help!” she cried. She readied her foot near the door to trip whoever came in and tightened her grip on the rock as she continued on her show. Although she was a rogue, it seems that this rough-n-tumble escape seemed to be more suited to her personality rather than specialty.

Action: Try to free Amane, grab the fallen rock, and feign fatal injury.

"Haa... Thank you, Amane." Relieved by the comfortable warmth washing over her body, Eldhi could feel the Priestess' light - much more potent than hers- knitting her wounds close. While she still wasn't in her top condition, Eldhi noticed she was the freshest of the group, likely owing to her robust constitution.

However, despite that, her strength still wasn't enough to snap the ropes by herself. The Paladin's heart sank a little at that, why was she so useless? She couldn't protect anyone in the mountains, she let herself be turned into a distressed damsel, and now, simple ropes were enough to restrain her. She had trained vigorously, joined quests, and continually improved herself ever since her first foray in the Brisshal forest. All of those... and it wasn't enough.

This couldn't continue, something must change when, if, they got out of this forsaken hole. She needed power, actual power to protect her closed ones and innocent people. How could she be a proper Paladin when she couldn't even protect herself? "..." Heaving a dejected sigh, Eldhi shook her head briskly, pushing away the gloom in her mind. This wasn't the time to mop around, they had a prison to bust out.

Nodding in acknowledgment at Beretta's help, Eldhi was about to volunteer as the bait to attract the guards. Taunting was no stranger to her, it couldn't be much different than enticing monsters to attack her. Yes, that's right, the traitors were no more than foul creatures in a human body. However, her plucky brunette friend went ahead with her own take on the matter, faking a seizure.

"..." The knight blinked, remembering just how random Alphabet was. Smiling in slight amusement, she just shrugged, going with the flow. "Hey! Hey, traitors!!" Eldhi scooted next to Alpha, contorting her visage into an expression of mixed anger and concern, "You want to keep us alive, don't you?! Well, someone's dying over here!! You aren't doing a very good job, insolent cur!" Her voice echoed throughout the silent stone corridors. With Beretta and Eldhi hidden at the darkened area, Alpha preparing the stone, Eldhi was ready to endure anything the guard might throw at them.

...after what they did to her, to everyone, she was willing to do all it took to righteously wrench vengeance from the traitors' cold dead hands.

Action: Joins Alphabet's charade and trying to make herself the most visible in the cell.

She held out her hands towards Alpha as she approached, giving the girl a weak smile. "Thanks," she said as the rogue began working on untying her hands, before she tilted her head back, shutting her eyes once more. She was much too keyed up to fall asleep — not that she should in the first place, with so much resting on everyone being able to stick to the plan — but she hoped resting would be enough to recover some of her energy...or at least diminish her fatigue. When Alpha succeeded in removing her bonds, she would once again wrap them around her wrists tightly, but without tying them, allowing the rope to come loose if she pulled her hands apart.

Pressing herself against the wall, Amane huddled in a far corner, letting her body sag towards the ground. It wasn't the most comfortable of positions, nor the most mobile, and she doubted that she'll be able to jump into a combat stance from where she lay. If all went according to plan though, she wasn't exactly needed — Alpha was their stealth, capable of ambushing the guard if need be, and Eldhi and Beretta both packed a punch. With her concentration and magic levels at its current state, the felis dare not utilise it in combat, not when the others were more than capable of carrying out the plan on their own. The pose did serve to make her as non-threatening as possible though, she hoped. If they all looked like the couldn't pose a fight, perhaps the guard would be more willing to enter, and be more vulnerable, too.

The cold penetrated through the thin rags that she wore, creeping up her spine with chilling fingers, goosebumps breaking down her arms in its wake. Amane shivered, her fingers clenched tightly. If it got any colder, and if she hadn't escaped by then, she would consider starting a fire with what meagre strength she had left. For now, though, she could only wait.

Action: Resting and hopefully recovering some energy. Looking as innocuous and pathetic as possible, lying in the corner furthest from the prison bars, in hopes that it will cause anyone checking on them to lower their guard.

The group succeeded in their attempt to attract the guards attention. Although the footsteps stopped before, the noise began once more, accompanied by voices. There were more than one. If you listened carefully, you can hear the dialogues as followed...

"What the fuck? I told you to heal them you dumb-ass, did you not make sure their health was adequate?"

    "Apologies."

"Hurry the fuck up you stupid mage, I don't know what is up with you and your kind, but stop talking like that."

    "Yes."

"God, fuck me, I was going to get dibs on the chicken too..."

Then you heard the sound of keys jingling, as footsteps approached your cell. After a few minutes, you spotted two figures at the barred door, one of which was a lightly armored guard with the key, opening the door. The other was a robed mage who had the ringed-eyes eerie looking at you. After the door was opened, the guard came into the cell and steadied his hand at his yet to be drawn sword while the mage went to work.

The mage bent down and looked at @Alphabet Chocolate first to inspect her injuries.

The ruckus Alphabet and Eldhi made seemed to reach the guard's ears, wait, not just the guard but one of the clerics as well. Eldhi couldn't help but curl a small smirk at the guard's frustrated voice. She felt a bit sorry for the abused and oppressed cleric, however, he was with the enemy, he was a traitor. Betrayers deserved nothing but swift death. With their taunt succeeding, evident by the footsteps approaching their cell, Eldhi briefly turned to Beretta, see if she had further instructions.

"Keep at it and distract the guards. The louder and more obnoxious the better..."

"Unh." Giving the purple-haired brawler an acknowledging nod, she turned back to the bars, eyes narrowed in not-so-faux frustration. "About time you got here." She spat at the guard as he unlocked the cell, allowing the pushover of a Cleric to inspect Alphabet. Good, the Kunoichi would take care of him. In the meantime...

"Hey, scum." Eldhi quipped, still in her sitting position, looking up at him but the look of defiance in her red gaze couldn't be mistaken. "How does it feel to betray your allies, hmm? Does it feel good?" Her lips widened into a shit-eating grin, "Does it give a tingle in your tainted soul, in your black heart, does it?!" Now she literally spat at him, hopefully hitting his face, "You Falderens are nothing but a nation of murderers, thieves, and traitors. Yea I said it! You deserve nothing more than swift extermination! Vengeance shall be upon you, scum! We shall not suffer the serpent to live!"

Action: Remind the guard on how 'honorable' him and his whole ilk are, trying to keep him riled up, thus focusing on her and her alone.

Having taken the short time available to give one last set of directions. Beretta knew that the time for planning was over for now. Now was the time for action, and hopefully everyone would do their part in the proper order and in sync. Time to do this, it had been a while since she had to deal with human enemies in a environment like this. Beretta preferred to avoid violence and murder unless absolutely necessary. Unfortunately for her enemy here tonight. It was necessary.

Relying on the rest of her team to follow through on the operation. Beretta moved swiftly behind the guard equipped with the sword. Her hand reaching to cover his mouth to prevent alerting other guards, as she without a seconds hesitation went on to snap his neck to bring a quick death. Being just a NPC helped here. These 0's and 1's were going to be deleted eventually anyway so there was no need for mercy on them. It was the players she needed to protect here.

Now if only the magic of Amane and the actions of Alphabet went through during this. Then they would be able to move on to the next step.

Action: Snuck up behind the sword guard, prevented his shouts and attempted a insta kill. All during the actions of the others.

"It hurts..." Alpha moaned as the mage got closer, carefully inspecting Alpha for any injuries. The man's guard seemed down and, while he was busy paying a close eye for any wounds whatsoever, Alpha lifted her hand up and readied herself to slam the rock into the back of the man's head. Regardless if her attempt managed to knock the man off his guard or incapacitate him for the time-being, she attempted withdraw and put some distance between the mage and herself.

It would be a dumb move overall as, if the mage was still conscious or alive, then he had ranged spells at his disposal in contrast to Alpha's own weapon: a single rock. Nevertheless, Alpha prepared herself for anything. Would she have to dodge? Attack again? Or maybe the entire ordeal was over.

She didn't even glance in Beretta, Eldhi, and Amane's direction. It was dangerous to let her guard down even for a second.

Action: Attempts to slam the rock down the mage's neck and scramble away.

When the guard and mage entered, Amane carefully pulled apart her bonds, her hands against the ground, the sight of which angled such that it was hopefully shielded by her body. With her hands free, she began whispering a spell under her breath, timing it during the ruckus that Eldhi was causing, trusting that the paladin's words will occupy the enemies' attention, especially the guard's. She had to be cautious here — one wrong move and the guard could prematurely draw his sword, and then all would be over.

If the last words slipped from her mouth uninterrupted — and she wouldn't, daren't, stop chanting unless physically forced to — energy would gather at the tips of her fingers just as her party completed their actions. In a split second, not without a fair bit of panic, she assessed the situation: if Alphabet was successful in knocking out the mage, and whether Beretta managed to...kill the guard. If either failed, she would fling the spell at their adversaries' eyes, the energy bursting forth in a concentrated ray of light, sure to blind any who stared directly into it.

She was fervently hoping that all would go well though. If it did, she would snuff the spell out, taking the drop in energy as a small sacrifice to pay for success.

Action: Whispering a single target blinding spell while Eldhi was taunting the guard. If anyone fails in their actions (namely Alpha and Beretta), she will attempt to blind the guard and mage, with the guard having priority. While the spell is being cast, it is invisible, only forming into light at completion, which Amane timed to match after the others have completed their actions.
