  1. Now completely flustered by the appearance of another door, she sat on the floor in the same spot where she previously stood and simply stared at the buttons. Most likely it was some sort of word puzzle, but she was at a loss for the nature of the puzzle. At first glance it seemed that each row, pressed in order would form a word, and those words should from a sentence. It was also possible that each letter was fair game as far as forming words were concerned. She did the most natural thing she could think of, and inspected the small passageway between the doors for clues.

Also, just to say she tried, she consulted the talking door behind her, asking it for clues or insight.

"hey uh... Joke door? You still hear us alright? We're kind of at a loss as to what's what with this next door."

She had little hope of this approach bearing fruit, but anything was worth a shot. She hated puzzles.

  2. Rosalie was at first unimpressed by the door's reaction, then had to laugh at how it managed to defeat itself, even though it led to a bit of a gross outcome on her part. "...definitely going to have to wash these clothes after this," she commented as she wiped off the nose-projectile, before turning toward the next door. This one was locked by a puzzle, and Dempsey didn't seem to have any idea of how to proceed. As she examined the buttons, however, Rosalie started to have some thoughts.

"Okay, so... I guess we have to use the buttons to spell a word or something," she said. The obvious words wouldn't be it- there had to be something else to spell. "Makes me think of Boggle or something." There were some words that could be spelled in that fashion- like "vine", but nothing that seemed like it'd be the right word, considering the lack of clues. Then, Rosalie noticed something. "How about I try this?"

From top to bottom on the panel, Rosalie pushed four buttons: O-P-E-N. About as straightforward a code as one could think of.

  3. With each consecutive button press the letters would begin to radiate a strong magical light. With Rosalie’s finger running down vertically line, she’d eventually stop upon the finished product as the word “OPEN.” A loud click sounded as the door quickly vanished into thin air, dematerializing as if never there in the first place.

Behind the door rest a small room inside. Only 3 feet by 3 feet, a single object rested within. From the looks of it, it appeared to be yet another rabbit like creature, one dressed similarly to the first rabbit met outside at the entrance. This one however was standing upright and at attention, it’s back straight and eyes alert. Resting in front of it and supported by both of its paws was a large silver tray. Upon approaching the statue, a new notification window would appear!

The window itself is very non-descript and lacking any sort of useful detail whatsoever (save for the counter which seems to be correlated to each of your carrot coin totals). Upon pressing the up and down arrows, the number adjusts accordingly. As for what the other buttons do… only testing will confirm your suspicions.

  4. Dempsey watched anxiously as Rosalie worked away a the puzzle door. she stood anxious, wishing she had any thoughts or insight to offer, but so far her best idea was to come back with a hammer and start smashing things. She would never be accused of overthinking things, probably.

As the door slid open, she bounced excitedly to Rosalies side and offered a grateful hug. "that was Great! I mean I knew we had to spell something out, but for the life of me I didn't think it would be That simple! Good Job!!!"

She stopped for a second to bring up her friends list and sent Rosalie an invite with a hopeful expression "You can be pretty handy sometimes Rosy! I hope I'll see you around!" Now staring at the UI that appeared, she shrugged, mashed the up arrow seven times, and pressed the roll button. It's not like she would ever have any use for carrot coins again, and a shot at something rare was better than something basic she could have made in town with enough time and money.

  5. Upon confirming the entry selection, a large spinning wheel with various flashing lights and ringing bells appears on the interface. Slowly but surely it slows down, revealing a variety of entries, including various icons you’re unfamiliar with. After a few more seconds, the wheel grinds to a halt, letting out a loud celebratory sound as it stops upon the icon of a small booklet.

A notification window appears as an item has been added to your inventory:

The interface continues wait patiently for @Rosalie Browne to confirm their entry before disappearing.

  6. Rosalie waits for Dempsey to try out the interface before taking her turn. "Oh, so it's a gambling thing. Maybe I can win two things if I try it this way..." She set the arrows to "3", then hit the roll button; whatever the result was, she'd then set it to "4" and roll again. The chances would presumably be lower, or the results wouldn't be as good, but... when you're just starting out, two things might be better than one.

As strange as the weapon was, it was most likely still an improvement over the girl's initial tool. Shortly after confirming the second entry selection, the process would repeat once more. Upon receiving the last reward, your vision begins to distort and blur once again. Without warning the two of you are ejected as you find yourself back outside behind that tavern.
