  1. Magi Heart: Post Against The Wind

img Within Dormont was a flurry of discussion, consideration, and planning. The single biggest upset since the betrayal of the three guilds vs Falderen. The still fresh faced Kingdom of Astorea was now in grave danger. Several of the strongest members, including the king, were beyond reach and their status unknown. One of those missing people? Eldhi Arc. A somewhat idealistic young knight player. For most, just another face... for one person though. It was her best friend, and even with all of the people she wanted to protect and keep from experiencing the horror of death... Eldhi had to not have her spirit wracked by the trauma. Magi Heart was distraught.

"Another war? It's happening again? People are going to die and I.... I can't stop it from happening!"

The young magical girl was outside Dormont Castle. Watching the soldiers come and go with a tear running down her face. Players, NPCs, everyone once again playing a game of death. Who was the good guy here? Obviously the players right? Yet again, this was unneeded violence. Why couldn't the King's just talk about it and make a alliance? Wendy studied history in class and was a good student. Surely if this game was so real it could be settled peacefully! Did everything have to be about fighting, and not even fighting evil. Maybe... maybe there was a villain... maybe a evil monster had taken control of King Theodore!

The thought almost made her convinced that this could be a good thing...

What was really horrible though? Eldhi was in some kind of danger and Magi had no clue what to do or how to find her! Out of the two of them. Eldhi was a better player. Magi had experience points and all but... honestly she played pretty bad at this game. Magi had to believe in her friend. Yet... what did that mean about her?

Magi was not good with fighting wars but it may be the only way to save people now... by fighting the evil ones... or the ones that were evil for today anyway. Sigh, why was she still playing this again?

"Eldhi, you'll be okay out there... I'm here for you."

She got off of the bench she was sitting on and not caring if she got weird looks, put her hands in a heart shape and said:

    "Heart Bond Power... "

The girl was not even sure if that was a move. It wasn't in her move list. Well, it did not matter. She hated wars, hated the way this game worked and how difficult it was to be for it what she wanted to be. That meant nothing though... she had to help her friends that were fighting here. Especially Eldhi. One more war... just one more venture into all this meanness to keep them all from dying... and then maybe put this game away for good.

  2. After hearing that there was going to be a war between nations, Romulus found himself in the castle Dormont, attending and listening to the discussions made. To him he was quite intrigued how realistic they made terrasphere to be. While normally he would be entertained how the events affect the players, this was no laughing matter. This wasn't a competition based situation rather what they could be facing one of the most game changing events in its history. Romulus was never against the idea of war but surely this can be resolved in some other way?

Knowing that he is not fully prepared nor good enough to become a war participant, valuing his life and was focused on his goal to tame the land and create the foundations such as why King Astor did for Dormont. He wanted to found civilizations, an empire or a nation that would become one of the greatest cities in all of terrasphere before the clock tolls his final hour. He exited the keep only to see a little girl crying, walking off towards the marketplace.

Romulus had a daughter in real life, to see the sight of a little girl crying breaks his heart. He doesn’t want children to cry, whether they maybe player or NPC, it would be hard to ignore and leave them be. He placed his hand on her shoulder, the towering man asked:

“Why are you crying little one? What troubles you?” he’d release a fatherly aura around him and took it upon himself to try and comfort her. But surely enough he choose to be ignorant of the fact that she could have heard of the conversation inside the keep.

“I maybe a stranger but Rome cannot ignore the cries of children.”

  3. img The large hand and deep voice caused the girl to jump a bit. Her head turned to look over her shoulder and watery pink eyes gazed upon a large male. He asked why she was crying... it was strange. Why adults always asked that. Like they did not know... The armored lady back then... after the siege of this very castle, had asked Magi something similar. Was being a adult... about giving up ones sensitivity to the wrongs of all this? Magi did not want to ever grow up and lose her connection with love. Deep down she was sure that adults just hid there true feelings. To survive...

"War is happening again. I-it was just getting better. People were making homes and... and now my friend is..."

Magi stopped herself. What kind of heroine acted this way? None! She had to get it together for her friend and for those who needed her. What was it that the old tablet in the crystal place said? The story of a Magical Girl of white starlight from another world that was the ender of many wars and repaired the souls of the lost? A person who could grant the wishes of humanity and protect the weak from evil meanies. Magi had to try... somehow.

"Sir... a-are you going to going to fight? I have to help my friend. I have to help keep people safe. I'm just not sure how yet.... but I will figure it out! Magi Heart... says!"

Doing her best to stay in character and failing miserably. Magi took a firm magical girl stance with her watery eyes showing some true conviction to take action regardless of fear or uncertainty... Then she looked up and asked.

"I don't really know... where to go to join though? The castle right?"

  4. How would he go at this without her calling him a liar like his daughter did? War is something everyone wants to avoid but such conflict is inevitable. Such matters and events were common in history, something that she would one day learn in the future when she grows up. She then explained that her friend was in trouble and what he can only assume, her friend might be one of the many others that were captured along with King Astor. If they were a player, then she has nothing to cry over but if she was a NPC, that was a whole different story altogether.

“I’m not sure if I’m able to fight but Rome will not neglect this child. Your will to keep people safe and your desire for peace is understandable. War is no stranger to history, one day we will fight a fight that we’re all afraid of so we have to hold to faith and be brave for others. Take heart, if they wanted King Astor and his party dead, they might have done so immediately. You know who we originally are right?” Romulus was mentioning the fact that they’re players and such worries were misplaced but perhaps the point was that… what if this was reality?

“I have yet to find purpose in this world but If you really wanted to save your friend, then come along with me. Rome will take you to the path that will save your friend” he offered Magi Heart his hand as if like his daughter to come with him. Perhaps Romulus was controlled by the memory of her daughter when she was a little girl and it really pains him to see them cry.

To make a decision to help her was quite sudden but it’s not like he has anything better to do.

  5. Tch... am I late? They have to be hiring mercs right? Even if I'm too green to be on the front lines, I could still throw out some mine's or something, as long as they're paying and I get to keep the effects of whatever I kill I mean. How lucky am I to get here right in the middle of a war?!

"PEACE SELLS BUT WHO'S BUYING! HAHAHA!

Backfire spotted a pink-haired girl and what she assumed was some kind of half-giant or something. Those two look they know what's going on.

"Oi! Pinky and the giant. You two know if they're hiring mercs or something? I'm new here. Heard there was going to be an invasion and figured I could offer my services with traps, mines, explosions, that kind of thing. Do we get to keep enemy weapons and armor? Good way to pick up a bit of cash on top of whatever else they're paying, am I right? HAH!"

  6. img The man was right about some things yeah... he had a funny way of talking. He was really into his character. Magi wished she could be having that kind of fun. This had become more personal now though. Death in this game was not fun, not fun at all! If Eldhi or anyone else had to suffer through that experience and Magi could have prevented it... it would haunt her always. Players or not.

"I...I think I get it. Mr. have ever died in this game? Have you ever felt that? It's...scary. I won't let others have to go through that when all they are doing is playing for a good time! I don't always get why people find fun in a lot of this stuff. It's so... unfair and a lot of people seem to take joy in things that are mean and unpleasant. I-I... still need to keep them from hurting themselves and others. It's my characters role.. but also my wish too!"

Magi said with her confidence and determination welling up from somewhere. Maybe all she really needed were more friends and allies who could support her and she could draw love and justice from?! It was so rare to make any friends in this world though. What the future could be with a team of magical girls all fighting for the same wonderful thing, that would be cooler beans than anything else and maybe even be enough to change things! If only that was what would be.

"Thank you Mr.... um Rome, I think? I'm going to fight. I'm going to do my part to help... I have too!"

Then came another voice a lot less gentle even if they were shorter than the big man. Something about her was creepy. Oh gee whiz. Magi bowed to the new lady and and waved. This person sounded like they were actually excited about the war and the fighting. Well... it was starting to feel like the main draw of this game was that, so it made sense. Magi was in the wrong game for sure. It was purely obligation and maybe a small hint of hope for something that would reveal the things that she believed to be true, at this point. What were those things? That truly everyone was good and needed a heroine to help them do so. Like she dreamed of being....

"Yeah... um I think we should ask the people at the castle if we can help! Right...? Let's go, go right now! We have to save the captured people! Magi Heart... won't let them die!"

She looked at Roma expecting him to help here. She had to restrain herself from running there by herself but would if they all just hung around too long while others were in danger! Magi had to jump into this now.. headfirst or else she might not be able to channel the courage again.

  7. Were they hiring mercs to go save some captured soldiers? I'm pretty new. Don't know how good I'd be in a fight. I guess if I just put some mines down and use twinkly princess here as bait that could work. I don't think that big guy would be too happy about that though. Looks like he's taken a liking to her. Wait... did she say her name was Magi Heart, like talking in third person? Or is 'Magi Heart' like, another person? Kids...

"So... you're Magi Heart? You seemed pretty worried about this war kid, you know they come back if they die right? Like, it's not permanent. I mean, it might feel shi--"

Wait... I shouldn't curse in front of a kid, right? Is this really a kid? I mean, it could be some 40 yr old unshowered bald dude with a gut breathing heavy. Gross. Whatever though, I'm not gonna judge. Here and there is different. If some digustoid wants to be a magical pixie that's their prerogative. Whatever.

"... might feel crappy, but you come back. Well, you seemed pretty determined. I'm not really into the whole 'rescue' thing unless there's a reward for all the trouble, but I'll come along with you and the mountain over here to see what the deal is. "

Backfire examined Magi Heart with a discerning eye.

"You shoot beams or something? Nothing personal, you just look like you'd fire off a hell of a lot of beams. That's probably a good thing if you're going to go blast up a bunch of enemy soldiers. I'll say this though, busting up an enemy platoon sounds right up my alley."

Backfire scratched her head for a second, and looked upward as if doing mental math.

"Hmm... Okay! As long as there's some kind of reward, or I can keep the obliterated soldiers armor and stuff, I'm in! Don't know what 'in' entails, but I'm down to crack some skulls and I guess save some poor captured bastards. Again, needs to be a reward of some type though. No free lunches am I right?"
