Mizuki glanced over at Kaede as she watched over the girl during her recovery, the Felis trying her best to focus on the book in front of her but her concern leaving her to keep checking to see if there was any change to Kaede's condition. So far as Mizuki could tell there really wasn't anything wrong with Kaede other than exhaustion, so she shouldn't have so much trouble focusing on the book as she waited for Kaede to wake up. However she still found her heterochromatic eyes leaving the pages to instead gaze towards Kaede, for any sign that the magic inside of the woman was taking a turn for the worse or that she was beginning to wake up. The greatest source of Mizuki's concern was, pure and simple, the mystical nature of magic. Kaede's state was inflicted on her by the magic that had grown inside of her after she had been reborn, so even if it looked like sleep and for all effects and purposes gave the impression of just being sleep, a portion of Mizuki's mind insisted that she should stay on guard in case it turned out to be worse than that. It wasn't entirely logical (what would she even do if something DID happen?), but that didn't make the voice in her head go away. She didn't know much about magic, since there was no such thing on Earth and Mizuki herself hadn't gotten herself involved with it either. Kaede's magic seemed to be about contacting spirits, which made it even worse since in Mizuki's head that translated into the unreasonable possibility that maybe spirits were messing with Kaede's mind as she slept. Honestly, she should just reprimand herself for being so illogical and return to her book: Astramancy was recorded as one of the magic types a player could choose, so it wasn't like Kaede had gained a completely unknown type of magic. And it was unlikely that Kaede specifically would get such a variant of Astramancy that it'd result in her being possessed. Still, the lack of knowledge had Mizuki frowning, until she forcefully pulled her attention back to the book. Magic was interesting. It was wondrous, it was exciting. It was something completely new, it could be used to achieve things otherwise thought impossible. But in situations like these it also became scary, at least for someone like Mizuki, who already was inclined to overthink things and think of all kinds of ways that things could go wrong. She was pretty sure that if it was her who had been put to slumber through use of magic Kaede would, at most, impatiently have waited for her to wake up without ever thinking about whether the magic was twisting her from the inside out. More likely she'd have made sure Mizuki would be all right and then returned to doing her own thing. Mizuki growled as she realized that her attention was slipping again, forcing herself to look at the pages of the book and read the letters. It was an interesting book, filled with myths and folklore from Terrasphere. Under normal circumstances Mizuki would have been able to read this for hours on end, since it was very interesting to see how much effort the creators of this game had really put into making this world as complete as possible. Even if they had already created so much terrain and so many different creatures and people one might think they would have skimped on the books and scrolls, since those would have little use in comparison. Instead Mizuki was reading an actual book, which meant that either the people who made Terrasphere had actually sat down and written thousands of stories for the sake of perfectionism, or the people living in this world had written all these books. Maybe Terrasphere had already existed for quite some time before it became infamous, and it had first gone through several years of accelerated time so the NPCs could set up their civilizations and cultures proper before the adventurers (aka players) arrived. Right now, though, Mizuki's mind was struggling to hold focus, until the Felis gave up and put the book away. She'd read it later on. For now she returned to sitting next to Kaede, her tail swishing as she just placed her chin in her hands and stared straight ahead, ears twitching as she went about trying to untangle her thoughts. Being closer to Kaede helped since she felt like she would be able to easily pick up on if something happened, so she didn't have to constantly look at the woman and could instead turn inwards towards her own thoughts. It wasn't like she was facing some difficult conundrum: she was just overthinking as usual, and she was trying her best to guide her thoughts into shapes that she would be able to reassure herself that there was nothing to worry about. It wasn't the first time that Mizuki was plagued by excessive worry, so she had some knowledge about how to deal with it. If it took long enough for Kaede to wake up she might actually be able to return to reading beforehand. She had to admit though, magic did still have a certain allure... Terrasphere as a whole had its promise of showing you things Earth could never show you, but magic even more so than the rest. Mizuki was capable of pulling stunts with Body Combat that would most likely result in her lying flat on the ground if she tried something like that in real life, but that still wasn't quite on the level as actually altering reality with the power of magic (at least, that's how Mizuki saw it). Forming a fireball out of nowhere, crafting illusions to deceive people with things which never existed, control the plants of the forest to use them as shield and weapon... Compared to that being capable of executing some fancy punches wasn't quite as wondrous and otherworldly. @Kaede Hoshi
_____Luckily for Mizuki Kaede would not be asleep very long, the sound of the book getting set down causing Kaede to stir awake as she rose and rubbed her eyes. Slowly scanning the area around her before it started to dawn on her she was not where she last remember and had a small moment of panic, the idea she died again causing her to worry as she began to tremble, the moment she noticed Mizuki Kaede broke her previous promis out of worry and tried to tackle the girl to the bed. A few moments of sitting over the girl before she tried to kiss her lips. ”Please tell me i did not go and die again… I refuse to be stuck with fear of woman again…” _____Kaede would sit over the girl for a few more moments before noticing she was not afraid of it and fell to the ground sighing with relief. Well only for a moment before she noticed what she had just tried to do and moved to bow slamming her head to the ground at Mizuki’s feet. She went and betrayed the girl’s trust and went back on her word to ask before trying any attempts on the girl. ”I’m so sorry… I panicked thinking I’d never get to be around girls again…” _____Slowly her mind would click some more, she was acting like Athea again, cursing as she blushed badly at the realization before she tried to hide her face in her bow as best as she could. Kaede wanted to be done with being Athea yet whenever she was interested in a girl that part of her just seemed to creep back into her life and take control. Mizuki's ears twitched when she heard the sound of moving fabric, and the Felis quickly turned around to see that Kaede had stirred. Relief filled her like a wave of cold water, washing away the irrational anxieties that had been tormenting her as she waited for the woman to wake up. Realistically speaking just because Kaede was moving didn't mean that all of Mizuki's worries had successfully been refuted, but she found that the mere sight of Kaede actually waking up as if she really had just been sleeping was enough for her worries to melt away. Which wasn't surprising, since she was aware that she could be a massive worry wart for no reason other than that her mind would keep throwing up pessimistic ideas. And it stood to reason that once the actual worry had been addressed all those additional concerns also became irrelevant, as they were nothing more than figments of her own imagination taking advantage of her initially worried state. Watching Kaede rub her eyes as if a child was kind of cute, which together with her relief was enough to make Mizuki smile. Of course, at this point anything Kaede would have done would probably have been enough to provoke a smile from Mizuki, since not only was it the first time that she saw someone collapse from exhaustion in the game, but it had also been the first time she saw someone collapse from using magic. Practically anything which reassured her that Kaede was fine would've been enough, really. When Kaede looked around in apparent confusion Mizuki at first was going to stay silent until she remembered what happened, but when it looked like Kaede was beginning to panic she frowned slightly and placed a hand on Kaede's shoulder. At least that was the idea... "Don't worry Kaede, you're-wuh!?" Mizuki's perspective spun as suddenly she was tackled onto the bed, the Felis blinking several times to try and shake the dizzy feeling it provoked. She might be pretty fast and have good reflexes, but Kaede was still significantly faster, and beyond that could move pretty flexibility. Add in how Mizuki hadn't expected Kaede to do that and she was practically defenceless as now Kaede was on top of her. Once her vision was no longer blurry Mizuki would have asked Kaede what she was doing, except that the time that it took for her to recover from the sudden tackle was about as long as it took for Kaede to try and kiss her, so the first thing Mizuki saw was Kaede's face from really close up before she felt her soft lips press against her own. Mizuki's voice was soft, somewhat hesitant, before Mizuki kneeled down in front of Kaede, placing her hands on the girl's shoulders. "You don't have to apologize. Please look at me."
