@Eldhi After you unlocked the door pushed its wooden form in, a sudden noise startled you and you cut at the movement, only to find that you had beheaded a rat. The other one ran up to the other side of the hall.

@Beretta After you handed off the keys, you stopped by the occupied cells (1 & 5) and attempted to negotiate with the prisoners locked inside. They put their face against the bars near the light source in Amane's hand, revealing their identity. Cell 1 contained an older man who appears to be in his mid 50's while cell 5 locked a woman about mid 30s behind its bars.

Both of them muttered quietly that they would comply. Opening the doors for them would only take minor effort. Should they be freed, they would follow you afterward.

@Alphabet Chocolate After the door was opened, you come into the room but lacked any kind of light to figure out what was inside. With your limited vision, you slammed into what appeared to be a desk. Despite it making a loud noise, nothing happened, indicating that the dark room was empty.

@Amane Hirota You attempted to settle your racing heart and recover 1 EN. Although you focused on regaining your anima, you find yourself too fearful to recover anymore than 1 (roll: 1). It seemed an outside force detests you.

If any of you used a light source to check out the room, it appears to be someone's private quarter. There was a bed with a chest at the end. On one side of the room was the desk @Alphabet Chocolate bumped into. There were papers scattered all over it. There was also a letter opener, which Alphabet could use in place of a knife.

Amid the stacks of papers was some kind of logger, it would take some time to figure out what it was. The inside of the desks were locked as well as the foot chest. There was, however, half of a map hanging on the wall. You have no idea what it depicts.

"...?! Hyah!" As soon as she opened the door, and upon the first sign of sudden movements, the Paladin swung her looted sword at the unknown assailant. Trying to ambush them, huh? Not in a million years! "Ah...? Oh..." Only for her to find out the 'assailant' was merely a rat, an insignificant animal. "..." While the logical part of her mind dictated it was a good thing, Eldhi couldn't help but feel a bit... disappointed. Ah what could have been an epic duel... alas, she could always get her chance later. Once they escaped from this hellhole, she'd rejoin the Astorean forces and properly serve on the battlefield. By her blade, these traitors shall fall!

For now, Eldhi inspected the apparently empty room. It was much too dark to see, evident by the rogue master Alphabet bumping into things. With the torch occupied by the Felis Priestess Amane, Eldhi used the next best thing available, her own powers. She hadn't been using it much anyway. The Paladin intensified the glow of her sword, acting as a makeshift light source of sort, not much considering her hampered magic but better than nothing at all.

The golden glow reflected off the stone walls as the Paladin noticed it was a... bedroom, a guard's maybe? There were a bed, a desk, scattered papers, and oh! A chest. "Ah..." If anything would contain valuables, it would be a chest, who knew, maybe they could find potions and salves to treat Beretta's wounds.

"Hmmm..." Bending down to inspect the locker, she found out, to no surprise, that it's locked. Alright, such a simple flimsy lock would be no match for her, yes! Standing up, Eldhi raised her empowered sword, holding it with both hands... then made a powerful cleave at the padlock, attempting to break it through brute force!

In hindsight, perhaps it'd be wiser to just ask Alpha to lockpick the thing but the girl was busy and Eldhi wanted to do something useful, it was a simple lock anyway, how hard could it be?

Action: Uses her Illumancy to light up the room, checks Chest, tries to bash the Chest open. If she fails, she'd ask Alphabet for help.

Placing the key into the cage and turning the lock slowly, ready to act if needed. Beretta spoke quietly relying on Amane and the rest to do their parts. It was a pure hope that Alphabet would not cause the knightly girl any problems elsewhere.

"We could use some information if you have any. Anything you may have heard from the guards or anything you remember about the floor plan when you were brought here. I want to ensure we get you out alive and you will be expected to pull your own weight here."

Backing up and pulling the key out she gently opened the cell doors. Keeping her eyes on them for a moment longer before turning her attention to the next thing.

"Amane, we should regroup and make sure Eldhi and Alphabet are alright. You two follow close behind. Don't make a sound."

They still had not found Astor. Nor any others from Astorea that were captured... was this a sign that maybe they were all n different prisons? Hopefully not. More investigation was needed here. She headed for the room the others were inside of.

Action: Frees prisoners and instructs them to be quiet and offer any information they have that might help. Heads for Room 6.

"Thanks Eldhi!" Alpha grinned as a light began to illuminate the shadowed room. Papers lied around on every crevice atop the desk she had bumped into and, with a quick scan, triumphantly grabbed the letter opener with much joy. "I'll go sharpen this with a rock or something later," Alpha mumbled under her breath as she glanced around, looking for something on import. Unfortunately, the only things of value in this room that she could catch sight of were the documents scattered about and the chest Eldhi was currently preoccupied with unlocking.

There was a sigh. She absolutely hated reading more than she had to but, of course, this mystery couldn't be solved without a bit of reading comprehension. Thank the lord that she passed her end-of-the-year English exams (albeit with a barely passing grade). She picked up a few papers and quickly scanned them over, glancing at its contents and taking little bits, pieces, and words from each item. After she was done, she'd carefully fold them up and tuck them under her shirt for later safe-keeping.
Action: Grabs the letter opener, glances through the papers and map, and then pockets them all for later.

Recovering her energy was slow going — maybe the atmosphere was getting to her, for despite her best efforts, a single drop of energy was quite disappointing. Thankfully, throughout Beretta's conversation she didn't pick up the slightest sound coming from either of the hallways; nothing worth worrying about, at any rate, discounting a battle shout that sounded suspiciously like it came from Eldhi. She would have rushed there, if it wasn't for the immediate silence that followed: neither the paladin nor the rogue seemed to be in any danger. Regardless, she kept her ears perked. If her skills were not needed now, this was the least she could do to contribute.

She continued focusing on her anima, reaching her mind inwards to coax and flame what remaining magic she had left. She imagined it as a fire maybe, or a glowing ball of light, and she was fanning it, encouraging it to swell bigger. It was odd how the game mechanics translated to their senses; whatever this inner energy was, there was certainly nothing like it in the real world. Not that she was aware of, at least. But right now it was weak, its presence dim, and eyeing her energy bar Amane could tell that straining it by casting more spells could prove detrimental, and not just gameplay-wise, either. Sometimes TerraSphere felt so realistic that it was almost eerie.

The felis stepped backwards as Beretta opened the cells, giving the prisoners some space to exit. She fell in step behind their de-facto leader as she began walking towards Eldhi and Alpha's location, their voices becoming clearer as they approached the room. Perhaps the two of them found something?

Action: Keeps her senses alert for any suspicious details, before following Beretta to room 6 after the prisoners' cells were open, all the while attempting to recover her energy.

@Eldhi Being proficient with sword gave you the strength necessary to bash the chest. In fact, your impact was so strong that you smashed through its top. You had you idea if the chest was faulty in its construction, or if you had tapped into your hidden strength that broke the chest in such away. If you dug through the cluster of items inside, you would find.

    Loot

[Fire Bomb] x2 (Spell Scroll) Usable by someone who had Master-level magic power. When used, create a massive explosion in a medium radius (5x5 cubic meter)

@Beretta The woman in the group whispered to you, "I wasn't always in the cell you just freed me from. I was all the way up the hall and to the right. I know for sure that there is a room that controls all the light and magic stuff up that way. If you wanted to escape more easily, I suggest heading up that way."

@Alphabet Chocolate You pocketed the letter opener and the map. Although, you did find some items that look like applications. The room and the document lead you to believe that this is the private quarter of someone higher up in the prison's hierarchy and they were a magic caster.

@Amane Hirota You were able to calm down and focus on recovering your energy.

Eureka! She did it, with her divine might, the chest's lock along with a top portion was splintered. Truly, the sword was just as mighty as the pen. Giving herself a pat on the back, Eldhi knelt then inspected its contents, what secrets lay within this container.

"Hmm...?" Parchments, scrolls, two of them. "Huh..." Curious, Eldhi looked at them over, there were runes attached on them that Eldhi couldn't quite figure out. Maybe she lacked the necessary level of knowledge but one thing for sure, they were magical runes and could be useful in their endeavors. If only someone here was a dedicated magus... ah of course. She knew just the one.

"Are you done? Let's go, Alpha." Leaving the quarters with the plucky brunette, the Paladin went up to the pink-haired Priestess and Marquis of Astorea, "Miss Amane, these are for you. Spell scrolls, I can't use them tho, maybe you can." Handling them over for the Felis Illumancer to inspect.

Next, she tilted her head curiously at the new member of their little escapee group, a female human who was speaking to Beretta. "Oh... that sounds nice." Could she be trusted, however? Eldhi was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, she wore the same rough rags as the rest of them, there was no reason for her to side with these traitors. Furthermore, Beretta gave her orders too, follow them the Paladin shall. "Alright, lead the way."

In the meantime, her shining blade was always ready to face any friends that might come their way.

Action: Gives the scrolls to @Amane Hirota, then follows the NPC prisoner, while keeping a careful watch in case any ambushes come their way.

Looks like things were improving possibly. Beretta was still not completely convinced that they were in for smooth sailing quite yet however. Surely if the enemy took such precautions to capture them they would also take even stricter ones to ensure the all powerful player characters could not escape? Perhaps Beretta had overestimated the AI advancement here? It was a bit soothing to know she even had the time to contemplate at the moment.

Nodding to the others and happy to see Alphabet finally focusing on the task at hand, although her comment about burning everything down was highly disturbing... what was wrong with this kid? The agent might have a few words with her in private to try and discern more about her later. Right now, it was time to follow the woman. Beretta once again rubbed her wrists in preparation for what might come. It was unfortunate that she had still not gained any form of equipment or weaponry here so far, luckily it really did not matter for her. Better that the others were able to find weapons that suited their masteries,

Alpha preened at @Eldhi's words, straightening herself up with a puffed-up chest and chestnut cheeks. "That's right, Eldhi!" Alpha yipped, positively glowing from the praise. The road from here onward looked clean-cut and any immediate dangers were absent so Alpha supposed she had the time to relax and recuperate for a bit. As she followed the woman and the rest of her group, Alpha walked as a leisurely pace. It would've been accurate if you were to compare her to a particularly slow mocking turtle.

"Do di dah," Alpha sang, swooping from side to side. "Beep boop beep!"
Action: Follows the woman slowly, trying to recover her energy.

"Thanks," she said as she accepted the offered scrolls from Eldhi, clutching them in the same hand as her rod, her torch lifted up high in the other. "Wow, these are pretty potent." Anything that required a master-level mage had to be, but added in the fact that they made explosions? The spells inscribed could cause massive damage, more than she had ever managed to summon on her own — especially since her own magic wasn't exactly geared towards destruction in the first place. Unfortunately though, she thought, deflating a little as the blinking status in her UI once again reminded her of their predicament, as long as the debuff was active she couldn't be considered a master Illumancer. The spell was moot if they couldn't neutralise the draining effect somehow.

And so Amane quite eagerly agreed to follow the woman, giving a short nod of assent when she saw that the rest of the party didn't seem to mind either. "If we can remove the sapping effect somehow," she added, "we wouldn't just be aiding ourselves: I imagine the rest of the players held captive here will all have their chances of escaping increased." Not to mention she wouldn't have to struggle with the feeling of being dragged down internally, her magic twice as sluggish as it should be, no longer being able to cast spells that she had honed her proficiency in weeks ago. On the bright side, it seems that her energy was replenishing slowly, but surely. Concentrating once again, she continued to focus on recovering as she followed behind the group and the mysterious prisoner.

Action: Takes scrolls from Eldhi and tries to recover EN while following the woman.
