  3. As Vina did her best to keep her supporting spell going it became progressively more difficult as things got more and more hectic. It seemed they were reaching the climax of this entire chase as the bandits were nearly gone, but on the other hand those that still remained were doing their utmost best to bring the caravan to a standstill before it truly got outside of their territory. Vina hoped that the others would be able to take care of those that remained, because she didn't think she could be any more effective than she was right now, casting her magic continuously to heal those who had been wounded in the chase so far. Even if she was still a completely inexperienced mage she wasn't more experienced with anything else either, so she had to make do with what little ability she had right now.

And then game what looked a lot like a dragon. Especially when it began breathing fireballs. Vina lost her concentration when the fireballs rocked both bandits and caravan, the white-furred Felis staring at the giant creature with stunned surprise. As if the bandits weren't already bad enough! By this point it seemed fruitless to try and fight. They'd have to try and get as far away as possible, before this monster finished the job that the bandits had started. Vina herself had her thoughts racing through her head as she tried to figure out what she should do here. Healing her allies was what she wanted to do, but she didn't think it was the best thing she could do right now. Instead she'd have to think of a way to help support the wagons so they wouldn't be blasted into pieces by the angry almost-a-dragon. The only upside was that the beast had no hospitality for the bandits either, so if they managed to escape the beasts the bandits would most likely also prefer getting away over continuing the chase.

Some more thinking and Vina came to a decision. In modern times her abilities would have done little, but they were in fantasy-medieval, which meant that these wagons weren't made with plastic or metal, at least not completely (and no plastic at all). Instead parts were made out of wood, and Vina's Naturamancy was supposed to be good for plants even more than animals. Placing her hands on the floor of the wagon she was in Vina began chanting again, this time trying to restore the wagon by 'healing' the wooden parts that had been damaged.

  6. Aiko had been doing all she could to protect her wagon, and for a moment, the entourage's future didn't seem so bleak. Sure she noted that most of the wagons still sustained some heavy damage but some of her fellow adventurers had also gotten to repairing their wagons and overall recovering from the onslaught they had gone through earlier.

Aiko was still determined to continue defending against bandit attacks when suddenly, she saw a stream of water cutting through full grown trees like butter. Eyeing the culprit, she found out that an enemy Hydromancer was responsible for it. She retreated momentarily inside the wagon, hiding behind some barrels as @Xavier Weissman suggested while most of the adventurers focused their offense on the water-mage. Just as quickly as he had appeared, he was taken down by the relentless barrage of attacks the adventurers directed towards him.

"Thanks for the heads up! I might have gotten blasted away from the wagon if you hadn't warned me on time."
    Aiko told Xavier gratefully.

The felis blushed when @Moonbunny apologized to her for thinking she was some sort of tour guide that was just into her Job rather than a legit adventurer who was warning her about actual danger... getting a compliment from her for her heroics also contributed to her flustered state.

"Well as long as you understand... I also have to apologize to you as well. I thought for sure you weren't prepared for a situation like this and yet you ended up being a greater help than I could so good work out there!" Aiko told the Blonde as she gave her a congratulatory handshake while beaming at her.

However, it also had become apparent that Misfortune was having a field day with them, when a loud roar reverberated behind them. Upon looking at the source of the Bestial roar, Aiko spotted a flying alligator significantly larger than the ones the adventurers took care off a while ago. Great, just great. As if RNG hadn't screwed them enough, now they had to deal with this flying monstrosity.

At some point, @Jace Vale @Veradia Thoreau and @Indra had filled the wagon to its maximum capacity. Even though there were more people present now, Aiko viewed such development optimistically. After all, she saw how powerful Indra was and how much Help Jace could be at defending. With more people to aid their chances of survival, Aiko was adamant to make herself useful as well. Thus she did everything in her power to assist her wagon to safety whether it was doing stopgap measures to repair the wagon or deflecting enemy projectiles that threatened them.

  9. Someone gave Blake the idea to go and travel on this wagon, and she quite liked it. She always saw how poor adventurers made use of those to get somewhere. And she was both poor and an adventurer, so it fit her like a glove! And it also helped her to get to know more of the outside world, so it was a very exciting journey! But of course, being the lazy cat she is, she fell asleep not long enough after the wagon started moving. And surprisingly, apparently her character in Terrasphere had a really bad habit of oversleeping, which could very well be a product of her nights awake in real life, doing stuff like composing silly songs that she would throw in the trash or just reading a book. And so, she slept, until she started to hear some unusual sounds. Ugh, can't someone just like sleep without being interrupted by the sounds of people dying and being burnt aliv- WAIT A SECOND! THIS ISN'T RIGHT!

Blake jumped from the floor of the wagon, landing a almost perfect kip-up before going to see what was happening outside and oh my god that's a lot of dead people. She had many questions at the moment. First, why was there so much dead people. Second, how did she not hear said people dying at first. And third, why the hell didn't someone wake her up? Did they think she was dead too or something. She was about to throw a tantrum before she saw a big shadow on the ground. Looking up for its source, she quickly took a look at the flying huge beast and quickly went back into the not very protective interior of the wagon, before her ears caught a soft whimpering from behind some boxes. After checking, she found out that it was a man, bleeding from a injury on his left leg. Probably hit a artery. And he was going to bleed to death if someone didn't help him.

After a quick search, she noticed that most people were focused on doing their own things at the moment to help the situation, so it came to her the responsibility to help this poor fellow. Obviously, she couldn't heal him, and neither did she have any potions. So, she started doing what her adventuring senses told her to do. Loot! Not the poor man's corpse, obviously, but any luggage or bags she could find around her. And alas, she actually found some bandages. Not very good condition ones, but they would have to do. After taking off whatever armor present on that region, she started to envelop the wound on the bandages, hoping to buy the poor soul at least a bit more time.

Following her commands, D'vangelline's riders put up their shields and couched their massive lances as they followed the formation closely. Anyone with half a mind would consider the Princess' plan to charge into the enemy's line a preposterous plan, perhaps even suicidal. However, D'vangelline's cavalry had practiced the maneuver at least hundreds of times. They may not be strong individually, but the unit as a whole was well trained and well deserving of their title as the Sun Riders.

After the Princess broke through the enemy's line, the spearhead formation allowed them to split the bulk of the enemy, giving @Alonso Thorlion and @Aria the chance to show off while the Princess skewered bandits with her lance. Despite causing some damage to the enemy's ranks, she quickly had to back off after the bandits reinforcement arrive.

From then on... it became an absolute shit show featuring Flying Alligators, a suicide hydro bomber, and a half-crystallized Broodmother. Somehow, they were able to live through all of it and quickly escaped from the bandit's territory.

Although some bandits gave chase, they were quickly dealt with as the bulk of the ruffians stopped in their track, watching their preys get away in shame.

    img
    D'vangelline de Falder
As the near-broken rescue encourage trudged along, you can see the Princess remaining motionless on her steed.

D'vangelline's' eyes seemed to have lost their glimmer, her once perfectly groomed blond hair was a mess, her armor was stained with bandit's blood, and to add insult to injury, there was a piece of gator stuck to the tip of her lance, refusing to be removed. She was the picture perfect image of someone who started questioning what she was doing with her life. "..."

"You highness, we've arrived at the border, it should only take an hour or two before we arrive at the Aris Glass Forest. Seeing the state of our entourage, we're going to have to set up camp tonight and resume the travel tomorrow. It is not safe to travel in the Crystalized Zalra alone"

    img
    D'vangelline de Falder
Letting out a weary sigh, D'vangelline gave the order.

"Everyone, we're setting up a night camp when we reach the Aris Glass Forest, it seems we're going to need to rest and fix up the wagons before we pass through the Crystallized Zalra."

By the time the entourage reached the northeastern border and started to venture into the blighted land of crystals, the sun had already set.

    Cycle 4: Country of Glass

    [ 2 2 : 4 6 ]

The eeriest part about entering the country of glass was the fact that the ground was entirely replaced with an incredibly smooth and somewhat reflexive surface. Differing elevations in the terrain and environmental disfigurements existed in polygonal form. As the line of wagons traveled along the path, the wheels were near silent given how smooth the ground was.

"Hold! Let's set up camp here. Don't worry about the crystallization, most people think touching the crystal will give you the crystal infection you, but that's not true. Just avoid letting any of it get into open wounds.

Also, make sure you don't get attacked and injured by monsters either. In the case that you do, be sure to get the infection treated right away. Get your wound nice and dressed, you definitely don't want to expose yourself to unnecessary dangers here."

The forest the entourage stopped at shone like an icy dawn on the horizon, reaching up higher as you near to swallow the sky. Scattered beams of moonlight caught motes of dust and glassy leaves drifting lazily through the air along the treeline. The bark of the trees has long become the enchanting crystalline of Zalra's blight.

All around you, crystallized trees stood and cast soft broken light between each other. There was a faint glow from some of the gem-like plants produce. Veins of rubies run through the grooves of aquamarine and citrine tree trunks. Paper thin mica ferns chip away as the wagons brush against them.

When you disembark from your wagon, you can only hear noise produced by your group. The forest was complete silent, devoid of sound from animals you would often find in other forests. The only thing that broke the unnatural silence were the occasional breeze that took a deeper tone, as if to speak or sing in the language of man. From the corner of your eye, you catch odd shapes or unfamiliar movements.

Either way, it seemed too dangerous to keep moving now, the entourage has mostly started to set up camp, a few tents here and there, getting the campfire going, and distributing provision to take care of thirst and hunger. It's going to be a long night...

    @Raid Master [Princess]

Moonbunny no longer believed she was on a sight-seeing tour but if not for the pressing, passed, and ever-present dangers, she may yet have remained fooled. She gasped in a quiet state of awe at the crystalline formations, the utter quiet, alone in their majesty, and hiding still, a mortal danger...

But that was neither here nor there. Though Moony was tired she knew she had not had the worst of it, and that was thanks to a number of heroes, but one maiden more than all, The Princess. Seeing the heartbreaking weary she wore on her face at the very final moments of the battle, the small girl had decided for herself that she wanted to do something for the poor woman. As a show of thanks. So, without so much as a ceremony, Moony brazenly approached her.

"Princess? A moment of your time if you will, I believe I have pressing matters that simply cannot wait. Your tent perhaps?" Moony was still wearing her gloves, thanks to them, neat-freak that she was, she could just barely manage to touch The Princess, with only the lightest of flinches. Tugging lightly at the cuff of her uniform, Moonbunny urged The Princess on like a child after her mother's attention, her voice however, had a sort of 'tut-tut' to it which made the scene all the more rather strange.

In the tent, Moony lightly urged The Princess to sit upon a stool, and there, standing behind her, Moony tenderly began to fix her hair with a comb she pulled from her purse. The Princess likely protested that she had more important things to do, but Moony somehow convinced her... There was the bonus to the troop's morale, perhaps, from seeing their captain in peak condition? Or maybe it was a matter of The Princess herself having a short rest to better get her bearings.

Either way, like a mother hen, Moony preened her charge overcoming even her own aversion to touching others, if only for the moment. And when she was finished, Moony re-braided The Princess' hair with an honest smile.

"There! Now, don't you feel oh-so-much better?"

With a rather heavy exhale the man stepped out of Wagon 3 with ease. Throwing his hands in the air he chuckled gently before turning back to help his allies out. Taking @Jace Vale by the non injured shoulder he helped him down and out to a stump near by. Turning next to @Aiko Yamauchi he helped them down one by one to ensure no one else got hurt.

Once that had been completed he let out a large smile and patted their backs gently with a large hand. "Nice work everyone! We made it!! Take a breather yeah? Rest up!!"
Giving them each a thumbs up once more he walked off to stretch his limbs before observing @Moonbunny at work helping the @Raid Master [Princess].

Well that was a horror show of a day. Set on fire twice, dragged from one wagon to another, and just barely escaping from an exploding mage and the mother of all horrific reptilian beasts. And now they were stuck having to make camp in inhospitable Crystallized Zalra of all places.

Claire huffed and shoved her hair out of her face. What was left of her hair, anyway. Okay, so it wasn’t truly that bad, but she did lose a few locks to the blaze-happy bandits. In the long run of things, it wasn’t as bad as the sensitive red skin all along her arms, but she allowed herself to be huffy about this.

No rest for the wicked, though. Their wagons were in awful shape after that entire fiasco, so they had to get to work doing their best to get everything in working order. Claire didn’t know much about repairing vehicles, but she could do grunt work. Finding someone who looked like they knew what they were doing, Claire went over to get instructions, carrying wood from one wagon to another.

It wasn’t doing any favors for her energy levels. But whatever, she could deal. If they were to continue on to the mountains, this was higher on the list of priorities than resting.

  16. [l=Location:]Fruit Grove[/l]

After the whole ordeal with the Black Wolf Bandits, a horny allidragon, and the angry broodmother dragator, the Entourage, somehow someway, got through it all. Well, the glorious charge with Princess D'Va and Marquis Alonso was the turning point that shifted the scales, however, no one expected an angry Not!Dragon to show up and rain fireballs. Thankfully, through skill, endurance, and pure dumb luck, they all survived.

Now, the entourage found themselves resting in a clearing surrounded by an otherworldly landscape. Literal crystal grasses and trees surrounded them. The infamous Crystallized Zalra, a once lush and fertile land cursed by unknown magick, turning everything into crystals. Even now, the curse sought to claim more victims as the Princess put, getting even the dust into one's body was the start of a slow agonizing death if left untreated, leaving not a corpse but a crystallized statue of one's self. If anything, That was one way to go alright.

As for Aria the Felis Ranger, well, she would do what she did best for the company. While the warriors rest, the clerics heal, the carpenters mend, the green-eyed girl would forage. Yes, she knew how outrageous it'd be to eat crystals but judging by what the Scout - who still had his hand planted on his forehead - said, some fruits were still... valuable or something? She could gather those for the party and trade them with supplies to passing merchants or use them as a bribing tool, whatever the case, she wouldn't stand around and be deadweight.

    ---

Together with @Emil Trevelyan , the tall raven-haired Phantasm Magus (who was quite a looker really), the green-haired Felis decided to explore the area around the Entourage's camp. "Hey, Emil, lookie that." Her feline ears perked up and tail swished as extended an index finger towards a particular congregation of crystallized trees. "That's where the gem-fruits are, let's go, let's go!" Enthusiastically taking his hand with hers, Aria being quite open with personal space, she led him there, making the best use of her navigational skills.

"Woah..." Even when compared to their surroundings, this grove was beautiful in its own right. Tall crystal trees standing at least twenty to thirty feet tall, it wouldn't take a Felis like her to see the glinting fruit-shaped gems hanging from the tall branch. "Alright, I'm gonna get those!" She nodded gingerly, preparing her muscles for a moment with light aerobics, then leaped diagonally upwards, planting her leather-gloved hands to the crystal bark.

"Nngh..." The Felis shuddered for a moment, it was so cold and smooth! "Fuh... okay..." After a few deep breaths, she steadied herself then began climbing up... up... one step at a time. She had grown ever since her encounter with the golden-haired Forest Faerin where the ranger unceremoniously fell from a simple tree, she wouldn't repeat that now.

...or at least, that's what she thought.

As it turned out, crystal bark was nothing like normal bark and her muscle memories failed her, Aria slipped on the smooth surface, losing her grip as gravity embraced her. For a second or two, time seemed to slow down as the Felis' life flashed before her eyes, her lips muttered, "Not again..." before her slender form smashed against ground, eyes still wide open in disbelief.

A tiny ‘pop!’ sounded from Emil’s shoulder as he jumped off the rag-tag wagon and landed on the ground. His singular good eye couldn’t help how quickly it bounced from object to object, the reflective surfaces making him quietly ‘ooooh’ and ‘ahhhhh’ as different facets captured his attention. Without a conscious thought, his quill and book reappeared within his hands. He was quickly scribbling down notes, his slender legs leading him off in one direction before they would stop and pivot, sending him in an opposite direction to inspect something else.

Hearing his name on the lips of another player gave him pause, his head lifting from the craned position over the yellowing pages of his book. Looking for the voice, he was surprised to see someone, well, engaging in conversation with him. It was a welcome reprieve after basically having to fight for himself with no backup during the whole bandit fiasco.

Gem fruits? he asked, obviously confused, but not confused enough to not follow the lithe steps of the Felis woman. Well, follow was subjective considering his hand was quickly grasped in hers and tugged along toward the grove that he hadn’t seen when the entire wagon-party stopped to set up camp. A part of him realized that this probably wasn’t safe, but he said nothing; instead, he was happy to be doing something with another player. A soft smile covered his mouth.

A whispered incantation made his leather-bound book disappear once more, his quill placed gingerly behind his right ear as he tilted his head back and watched Aria begin to scale the tree. Hands locking behind his back, he genuinely thought that she would make it to the fruit and then bring it down for them both to inspect.

    Nope!

Stepping back just in time not to get squished by the falling Aria, honest surprise had his brows lifting and his thin lips slightly parting. …Are you okay? He asked after a moment’s hesitation. Kneeling next to her, he inspected all the common places where she might’ve started bleeding from (head, specifically) and then offered her his hand in case she wanted to sit up.

Here, let me try. I’ve been climbing trees since I was old enough to walk. His voice rang with confidence and he even had the audacity to wink at Aria as he strode off to the tree she had just fallen from. Of course, his in-game physique didn’t speak of any athletic history whatsoever which is something Emil completely forgot.

He jumped up, grabbing the lowest branch possible and moved to heave the rest of his body onto the branch – something that would’ve been easy as pie for Real Life him – only to find the muscles in his arms trembling under the strain. He grunted and groaned, trying, and failing, to get himself onto the branch when, finally, his arms said fuck it and his hands lost the grip on the branch, planting his ass in the ground very similar to Aria and her debacle.

Landing on said bony ass, he hissed in pain and winced. Okay, that didn’t go as planned, and, in true Emil fashion, he scowled at the tree, immediately shifting the blame.

_____Kaede saw the food that was getting passed out and did not exactly like the idea of it. She had cooking mastery and wanted to try to cook her own food and maybe share it with others if she felt the food was good enough and or would not be harmful to them. Recalling her past cooking moments it was not exactly likely she would make anything good but she had to roll up her sleeves and try or she would never know if she could have done it or not. Taking some of the scraps or unwanted rations and some poorly upkept cooking tools she moved to get herself started.

_____Looking over the potatoes, rice, and curry mix she figured her best bet was to make into actual curry. Taking a small set of buckets with water she did what she could to wash the potatoes before starting to skin them, leaving a small amount of the potato attached to the skin for later. With the exposed items she diced them up into squares and setting them into one pot of water to boil while getting the rice into another.

_____When she tried to focus on the curry mix itself, well things went wrong for the girl in a chain of events. The first issue was forgetting to watch the curry, the result causing the main part of the dish to burn up quickly. In a worried state she also drained the other items before they could fully soften leaving her with a few servings of over burnt curry, and hard rice and potato squares to mix with it. Hands resting over her face at the failed creation before she got herself a small surviving and decided she would have to eat it all herself as punishment. After the first bite, she knew it would be a very, VERY long night for her, what terrible luck.

That bandit raid did more than tired him out. Flying gators, wagons on fire, and above all an complete shit show the Felis was required to deal with. Part of him considered whether or not continuing forward and heading back to Dormont was the better option. No, there were people who needed to be rescued from the proverbial hell caused by some form of insanity. Alonso pat his borrowed mount, allowing the poor girl to run off, "Go on, do what ya want for now. Don't need to waste anymore time for my sorry ass at the moment." Turning around, the man's wide stride made a slow maneuver about the camp, eyeing the current state of his forces.

He proved too stubborn to just sit down at the moment, what with the horrible display he showed during the raid. Well, maybe the whole epic charging thing was a premiere sight, but that required multiple people instead of Alonso's own abilities. Something physical needed to be done, and his feline eyes caught a few people carrying wood around. Perfect. He can get both a workout and something to take his mind off the not so wonderful things the past several hours. Bending down, he grabbed some heavier pieces of wood scattered about it went ahead to collect it all in one place.

Somebody was going to need extra wood to fix up the wagons.

During the Marquees's work he noticed one of the players trying her best to do some lifting. He did not assume much about the woman's capacity, but considering the beating the players on the wagons took, the middle aged noble sighed and wandered over to @Claire Thalassa, "You sure you're good on lugging this crap around? I noticed you guys in the wagons got one hell of a beating, and I'd be surprised if none of you were hurting yourselves attempting to pitch in instead of resting." Popping his shoulder up, Alonso adjusted the wide plank he carried, one arming the sucker and placing his free hand on his other hip.

Vivian stood among the others watching as they crowded around and set up a small fire from the chilly night air. She just stared into the fire for a brief moment as the others passed around the garbage that was the cuisine of the night. The busty Malefimancer had traded in some gold coins for a nice bottle of wine from another player, she would not even dare to touch that junk they called rations. She would feel more at ease with the alcoholic beverage instead to keep her belly full. With the bottle in hand and taking mild sips at it as she passed by the other wagons, the female noticed a rather familiar redhead. @Kaede Hoshi

"Oh no...Is she really here? This is too good." Vivian noticed the female was a little lack luster than usual, that overall grin and the menacing gold eyes that shot through her soul had managed to be slipped away into this docile shell. How odd it was to see her like that and no doubt swallowing what she could of the food that was on her plate.

The older woman began to laugh to herself, she had just the right idea for this little upstart since the curse was still very much active between the shared of them. The purplette Slasher moved towards her prey, the bottle dangling from her hand as she moved with the the grace of a cat, sauntering over as she swayed her hips left and right as she stole glances from those she passed by.

A thick smile curved on her red lips, eyes brilliant with cold and blue steel hues as she stood looking down at the poor girl and her horrible excuse for a platter full of food. Vivian didn't even say a word and allowed her actions to speak for herself. Bringing her right leg back, the woman's foot crashed right below the held plate in the Crimson's Haired girl's hand and watched as the food splattered across the ground.

Her deep azure eyes twinkled with a menace, "Hey, Bitch. Remember me?" Her head tilted as she started to laugh coldly. The Malefimancer took a step back and her eyes feasted on the oncoming events, "What did I tell you the last time? I was going to make your life a living hell. I don't mind squaring up with you right now if you wanna make something of it?" Vivian stuck her hand out as a hellish blue flame started to materialize around her arm circling over the pristine colored armor she wore, "I will make sure this night for you is as horrible as the next! I am not so weak as I used to be!" And with a thunderous boom, her spell expelled outwards and crashed down at the ground beside Kaede, causing her fire pit to rise and blow flames towards her.

    Nat One Event: The Splinter

The camp bustles with activity as the players begin splitting up to cook, catch naps, map out the area, and lament their reptilian misfortune with one another. A few even decide to climb into the heavy laden bowers of the fruited grove. As @Solaria made her own attempt to climb the orange-tinged trunk of a citrine tree, fate would not have it so.

A shard of crystalline bark suddenly gives way under the diminutive weight of the Yladian and sends her slipping back at gravity's behest! Luckily the fall was from no great height and all she has to show for it are bumps, bruises, a wounded sense of pride, and a small nick on the palm of her left hand.

This event does not refresh cooldowns.
