As their battle finally came to an end and the group found themselves clear of danger, Blithe slumped back into the wagon with a heavy sigh, rubbing a hand against her head as she took a small breather. Small because she jumped up again a second later, eyes popping open in awe at the sites around her, jaw dropping as a gasp escaped her lips.

The new area was beautiful. Everything shined and glimmered wherever she looked. Blithe must've gasped like 5 times before she shut her mouth, realizing she was probably making too much noise. They continued on until the princess announced they were making camp, and she was happier than a kid in a candy store to jump off that damned wagon and explore. When would she ever be in a place like this again? She'd seen a lot in her time on Terra... But never something like this.

However, she only explored for a second before her tummy rumbled loudly, causing her to blush a light pink colour in embarrassment and her hand to fly to her stomach, grinning sheepishly at those nearby. She was hungry, and if she was hungry, then others were hungry... So Blithe had to do what she did best, and that was cook. But all they had right now were the crappy provisions they brought along, and that wasn't good enough for the petite lolipop coloured Frenchie and her vast range of friends. It needed a certain... 'Je ne sais quoi'. Especially if she was going to play around with it.

Pulling out her own personal cooking kit and one of her many frying pans after picking out some pieces from the shitty provisions, Blithe set herself in front of the fire as she went to work. She worked diligently, humming a peppy little tune under her breath as she swayed her hips from side to side, adding in this ingredient here and that ingredient there with a little sprinkle and a little twirl as she just couldn't seem to stop. She glanced over at the side for a moment as @Kaede Hoshi seemed to struggle with her meal, but she giggled and shrugged, "Don't worry, I should be making enough delicious food for a good majority of people to snack on!~" Immediately she turned back to her cooking, her master piece almost complete. Just a few more here, a few more there... And...

"Voilà! Bon appétit~" Before them was not the provisions no more but something amazing. A couple servings of extremely gourmet looking food that seemed to glisten and shine like the crystals around them. If one were to sink their teeth into what could be called art, their mouth would almost experience one could simply describe as nearly orgasmic. Blithe took a small portion for herself, sitting off to the side and plopping down on a rolled up sleeping back, spooning some food into her mouth and letting a small 'Mmmm~' of satisfaction as she muttered under her breath, "
    Très merveilleux~"

Though she did spend a short time chatting at the camp with @Verity, trying to heal wounds as a team from the vast damage done by the bandits, Solaria had noticed a great deal of people wandering towards a grove of bizarre fruit trees that seemed to glisten in an unusual way, attracting her attention. Turning to her colleague and friend, she smiled and adjusted the hem of her long red skirt.

"I'm going to see what they're all going for. Maybe if I bring back some fruit, we can use it for more medicine. At the rate we're going, we're going to run out, you know?"

With a grin, she rushed on ahead to take on a new quest- one she admittedly hadn't bothered with before. While she was more than comfortable at her proficient mobility level, Solaria wasn't exactly dressed for tree-climbing. She was a natural tomboy, but dressed like a girl from the Victorian era. In hindsight, she really should have stuck to her original gaming method instead of taking on Aylen's roll in games instead.

A soft sigh escaped her as she tried and failed to climb one of the tall trees. How did the bark manage to give way when she clutched it? Did mobility add to her strength statistic? Well, at least it hadn't been a huge fall to the ground. Sure, she had some bumps and bruises, but only her hand had been cut when the bark pulled, so she was mostly safe. "Well, I guess I should count it as a blessing, but still...I can't even climb a tree like this...? Really?"

Somehow, they had all managed to survive. Now they were resting in the quiet land of Crystallized Zalra. Gosh.. this place again. It was becoming a place Magi kept finding herself in. Really weird and creepy. Magi was exhausted as she usually was from these things. The girl was getting better with time but the game just kept getting harder at a faster pace than she was improving. At least that's how it felt to her. There was a now a pause in the chaos. A much needed one at that.

"...Just a little more. Almost there. I haven't failed anyone yet."

The girl was sitting back in wagon four, and smiled semi content with at least having done what she had done so far. With a nod, she leaned back against a wagon seat to relax some and said quietly.

"Magical Pink Heart Power! We can't give up..."

She began to cast her healing heart spell over the area gently recovering the injured and hoping to be as much help as she could be. Small pink hearts traveled around the camp site. Slowly getting everyone up to speed. What about her own energy levels? Magi did not think about that. She had no difficulty sacrificing her energy for everyone else to succeed. If only to save the others and Eldhi. She continued to cast her spell at regular intervals throughout the night.

Would the help of a under noticed yet also under performing young magical girl be something that changed the outcome of things? She hoped so.

Bandits, burning wagons, flying crocodiles... Just remembering them was enough to let him know how dangerous this excursion will be. Suffice to say that their enemies won't let them complete their quest so easily. But no matter what will they do, he knew that there was no turning back now. He was now involved in the war and he knew he had to continue through the end of this event.

But with all of the players and NPC soldiers still injured from that last attack, he knew he had to act to prepare for tomorrow. Taking out his alchemy tools, he started on mixing up some potions and salves to treat the princess's soldiers. Though it wasn't all work and no play as he also spent some time chatting with @Solaria until she decided to head off to the grove to try getting some fruit for medicine. "Good idea. Just be careful out there. We might have no idea what's in that crystalized forest."

While he wasn't worried about it as he stocked on a variety of herbs before he participated in this rescue effort, harvesting some herbs and fruits might be a good idea as he felt this might be a long trip to rescue the captors. Though after a few minutes of taking care most of the soldier, he was surprised to see her in bruises if she made it back from the grove. "Solaria! Are you alright?" He said as he rushed to her aid, which was a surprising move even for a cautious alchemist like him.

Claire strode purposefully over to where she was directed to deliver some more planks. There were others from the Falderen princess’s group who were more well-equipped to handle the problem of the broken wagons than she was, but she’d do what she could to make their job easier. The sooner they got everything back in order, the sooner she could rest.

Actually, scratch that. The sooner that everyone was saved, the better. It wouldn’t be fair to the people who were captured and injured (or worse, her traitorous mind thought, recalling the sprays of blood as the arrows and crossbow bolts found their marks) if she didn’t put in all the effort she could to help.

She saw @Alonso Thorlion approach, but didn’t think to engage him in conversation, assuming he was just there to help. It was a surprise when he started talking to her first. She bristled at the implication that she was too beaten up to help. Burnt hands tightened around the wood she was carrying for a brief instant before she had to hiss in pain and loosen her hold again.

Damnit. She needed to get a grip on herself the way things were going.

She carefully set all the wood down and looked back towards the large Felis man. “I’ve got it handled. I can’t just sit and do nothing while Eleanor and the rest-" She was getting worked up again. Exhaustion and anger combined in a slow-building headache behind her temples. She exhaled forcefully, closed her eyes, and tried explaining again. "I was useless when Falderen ambushed us in the mountains, I can’t be useless now. Helping to fix the wagons when I couldn’t put out the fires quickly enough is the least I can do.”

After escaping all of the nonsense that happened, it seemed like the caravan had decided to finally stop and take a rest. That was fine with Aerana, she wasn't sure how long she could have kept going honestly. Perhaps she could get some answers as to what was happening, but it seemed like everyone was busy. She had a feeling that it wasn't quite a normal little trip into the Zalria anymore, not after seeing that a very large part of the group had access to magical powers and an army of knights. Speaking of magic though... she had made the right call in joining the group. There were so many mages here that her book was practically filled with all sorts of incantations and spell descriptions she had seen throughout the trip. Admittedly, most of it was by memory as she would never risk losing her book during the bandit raid so there were probably a few mistakes here and there.

She wasn't feeling very tired at the moment and didn't really have anything to do so she took a quick look around. Quite a few of the people had suffered burn or arrow wounds and she had plenty of alchemy supplies left, making a few healing potions wouldn't be that hard. It would be a nice token of appreciation as well, to thank the warriors who had fought off the raid. She mindfully ignored her own part in fighting off the bandits, there would be a time and place for that later. She sat in a corner away from the main camp, grinding, mixing, boiling and creating potions that would hopefully heal anyone who still had injuries, her hands working on autopilot as she stared off into the distance. She placed herself pointedly away from anyone to avoid being disturbed in her work, the reagents could be quite volatile and she wasn't really in the mood for talk after all that had happened.

Arriving at camp gave Comet nausea. She rubbed her face with shaking hands over and over as if to relieve the pain of failure. She ran, expecting to do so for a long time, and at the same time gave up on herself. The pink-haired woman knew no one around. Thus, she felt the same tiredness of others but wouldn't sit down to rest or walk around with the aim to mingle. There was and would be no connection that could make her feel any better. Spotting players mend the Wagons created a temptation to make up for her running away from battle but instead Comet's mind set to something more. If one thing did put a smile on her face it was money. Swiftly pulling her unkempt, pink hair into a braid, Comet made way for the Fruit Grove in hopes of finding fruit to sell after the journey ended. Much more beneficial, she thought, than staying around as if earning keep mattered. This lot needed and would take any cooperative soul around. Be back in time to continue on and she'd be well-off.

With ambitious and greedy intentions going hand-in-hand the intimidation of giant fruit trees had first and foremost been shrugged off of Comet's shoulders. She immediately went to work at scaling the tree, much like when she had as a child, and felt that with ease she'd reach the top in no time. Straining to grab a fruit Comet let out a breath hadn't noticed she'd been keeping in: relief. The first fruit seemed delightful but hardly satisfied the pink-haired woman's need. Her mouth twitched into a frown as she tossed the fruit to the ground. The next attempt had met her needs. Comet now familiar with the tree could maneuver her long body down while keeping the fruit safe. "The best I've seen~" she complimented herself aloud.

Realizing after a few futile attempts at climbing the same tree that the gods didn't want their precious fruit stolen, the elf had returned to camp only to find @Verity quite adamantly rushing to her side, aware and afraid for her skin that was covered in small blotches of black and blue.

"It's really fine, Verity. The bark just wouldn't hold up. Just some minor scratches, nothing I can't handle. My hand hurts at most like I got a paper cut. Really, nothing too bad. I just got tired of falling down and figured it was a sign you could use my help more than the trees."

With a soft, playful grin, she stretched her battered arms and looked around the camp once more. It was far more peaceful than their trek to the campground, that was for sure. Turning back to her friend, she gleamed as she watched for his facial cues, though didn't actually wait to start talking more. "Were you that anxious to see me, though? I was barely a second back into the campground before you noticed me. Can't say I'm not impressed."

"That's not the point damnit," Alonso replied. His shoulders heaved in a sigh, knowing full well he came off more hostile than he should have, taking a few steps to set down the wood plank against the wagon. Resuming attention on the woman at hand, the large feline's eyes moved towards the reddened skin and rough hands. A brow raised as he examined them, despite his not being a doctor, on top of the thoughts of his leaving Eleanor up there on the mountain. No. He knew what being stubborn about fixing his issues was like. Alonso needed to be a role model to some extent at least, and he doubt returning to Astorea in such a sorry state was going to do him any favors.

If he was going to at least convince this person to sort her thoughts, then at the very least the man figured he should help her out. One of the entourage staff walked by, allowing the Marquees to motion for a roll of bandages. Alonso caught the roll in his hand once it was tossed over. Unfurling the roll, he went to force @Claire Thalassa 's hand into his so he can get to work on wrapping it up, "Look, you're not the only person here who feels guilty about leaving people behind up on that damn mountain. Hell, you have no idea how guilty I am about leaving Eleanor there, after having helped her out dealing with the raiders initially. Tell me if the bandages are too tight."

Once he sorted the first hand he began work on the other. Proper care for injured hands was vital, and even his lack of medical knowledge allowed common sense to prosper, "I even know I did a shit job during the bandit attack, and something's wrong if I didn't realize how incompetent I felt. Every moment we've been traveling I keep wondering if I should've stayed up there, irregardless of the fact it would've caused Seto to be sole person to command Astorea in any regard." At this point Alonso was just ranting, and he knew it. Yet, this allowed him to get some steam off, otherwise there was a good chance that inner turmoil was going to be let loose at the worst time.

Checking the bandages one last time, he wound up the roll and set it aside. "Point is, you're not going to be able to help them if you push yourself like this. Trust me, I know how it is to be overly stubborn and... not place a little faith in something," the Felis added. Both of his eyes narrowed, more somber than anything, gaze drifting off as though he resorted to his own thoughts regarding past failures. The person he could not save back then when she did not deserve to die for a silly argument.

There's nothing like the promise of earning a good bit of gold to motivate the bard mistress into action. Forget the worn and torn carriages, the battle-weary warriors. She had money to make and gem-fruits to pick! Though she did not, in spite of her heritage, often venture to this part of the land, it was easy enough to follow the other helpless 'heroes' aiming to pluck a fruit or two.

Eileen snorted at @Aria and @Emil Trevelyan as they both struggled to climb the tree and failed. "Now, now," she said, approaching them with a sly smile, "that's not how you climb a tree, darlings." With a leap and a hop, Eileen sprung over to them, landing deftly on the cat girl's shoulders. Her knees bent just slightly, and then she had jumped, grabbing a low hanging branch and pulling herself up. She grinned down at her little stepping stone: a green-haired archer girl. "That's how you climb a tree. Thanks for the help, love!" She blew a kiss, winking and wiggling her fingers in a wave.

A little more effort found Eileen along the tip tops of the tree, plucking a gorgeous apple with a lick of her lips. It looked... well. Not quite delicious, but definitely expensive. Shimmying about, Eileen searched for another among the branches.

But she would settle for what she'd gotten. Tucking the fruit away, Eileen deftly climbed down the tree, looking for the pair she'd watched before. Her now free hands shook - jazz hands! "Tada!" She grinned, hips cocked to the side and head tilted up. "Why don't my cute little trainees try that again?" she dared.

It was not the first time Anabelle set foot on the vastness of Crystalline Zalra, hence she should have been used to the spectacle of soft lights. Or at least upon seeing the first signs that they were entering the forest, have anticipated what would grace her visuals to have it a little effect on her. But, that was not the case.

The blonde Felis was still mesmerized by the enchantress that was the unique flora of Zalra. Heterochromatic eyes witnessed once again the familiar dancing of colors from the glowing gems and precious stones that formed the lushness of the forest. For a few minutes, she slowly trod around the camp, head turning every now and then and dumbly gawked at the surroundings with her bloodied staff at hand. The blues, reds and sparkling of snow-colored leaves muted all the fears and anxiety Anabelle had in her heart, to the point that she forgot her sworn act of keeping herself close with the brown-eyed pretty boy to keep herself 'sane'. Yes, finally, she was able to wander around on her own without the fear of people or the agitation of being separated from the brawler. For the first time during the whole travel, the veil of forlorn was temporarily stripped away. A warm smile lit up her visage which only emphasized her innate appeal.

And, it seemed that the said charm could easily attract bystanders.

Or maybe it was not that.

One stranger dragged his heavy feet towards the direction of the blonde cat girl. He had scratches and burns on his arm and legs, aside from a notable zing in his curly ginger hair. Scent of burnt flesh could still be traced in the air. One could only imagine what he had to overcome to go this far in this journey. With a nervous grin, he blocked the lady's path and pointed at her staff. Meanwhile, the felis suddenly lost her composure and her light-colored tail fluffed up as a low hiss escaped her cherry lips, ears pulled back and round eyes turned to slits.

"You have magic, right?" he boldly asked, ignoring the cats' signs of agitation.

    Anabelle did not respond.

"You have a magic staff. You can heal, right?" the man did not wait that long to throw those follow-up questions.

    "And so?"

    "Heal me, miss!"

Only at that moment Anabelle put down her defenses. Maybe the freckled man was just really in need. But then, perhaps her help was not what he needed.

"I can," she said, "but it would cost you something."

    "Anything!"

    "Alright."

Without explaining what the exchange would be, Anabelle lifted her staff. She swung it on air and then viciously landed the bloodied part of the staff onto the top of the man's head. A resounding screech of pain filled the air while blue light engulfed the two. SLowly, the wounds dried up and healed. But, that was not the same with the sting on his head.

As a boy, Takeo was fond of running the trails of their family’s mountain estate. He knew every brook and tree; each trail and path, almost as well as he knew his own room. Having no friends to count on, he amused himself with the world around him, diligently exploring every part of the land he surveyed with childish zeal and wonderment. The same kind of view was one of the things he took with him into TerraSphere as Takeo – now Yuichi Ichinose – tore through the moonlit wilderness at marathon speed, the biting cold wind kissing his face that was painted with unfettered elation. The near-death experience of running away from the wyvern gave Yuichi a newly-acquired taste for virtual danger, and in venturing alone into the woods, sought out such circumstances others would otherwise avoid.

When he first came into the Crystallized Zalra, it was to have a practice duel with Anabelle to gauge her combat prowess as well as give her some time to acclimate her fighting style against melee fighters like him. It was his way of handing a gun to the Felin since she, like many of those who chose the path of the healer, had atrociously lacking skill in close-quarters combat. Yuichi hoped that fighting with him taught the beast-kin some manner of defensive techniques and inspired her to take up some manner of melee combat style to give the Felin some much-needed tricks up her proverbial sleeve. After all, nobody usually expected a magic-wielding brawler; in the same way, nobody would expect a Felin to be versed in the art of blunt-weapon combat. Adapt and survive – that was the lesson the pretty-boy learned after going through the gauntlet of trials.

Yuichi’s legs burned as his midnight run saw him traverse hills and climb trees, all the while his defense mechanism pleaded for him to go back to the relative safety of the caravan. However, he simply ignored it in favor of the rush of adrenaline that coursed through his veins and empowered his every stride. Finally, he reached the place he had come to see as his run’s finish line – a towering butte that, by reason of the crystalline infection, gave it the appearance of a luminescent fang from some long-buried behemoth. It was a majestic sight to behold, enough to give even the usually stoic brawler chills down his avatar’s virtual spine. He nodded – climbing it was going to be the highlight of his night.

In what would have taken hikers an hour to reach the summit, Yuichi’s speed and maneuverability allowed him to blaze up every obstacle in his way until the young man finally stood at the peak of the world, affording the player a surreal sight of a vast portion of the mutated forest, even able to see the location of the camp site. He was in awe at the glowing sea of trees before him; without a doubt, he would have Anabelle sketch him a map of his journey once he got back.

Eileen swaggered around here and there, 'ooh'ing and 'aah'ing at the various fruit gems sparkling up above. "Twinkle, twinkle, little fruits," she hummed to herself, holding up her Moonstone Apple and trying to match colors with it. It certainly looked pretty and would have to, thus, fetch a high price.

"How I wonder what you cost."

The butchering of a childhood lullaby continued as Eileen spotted a familiar twinkle, grinning up at the branches. "Up above the world so high," she sang and firmly planted a foot against the crystallized trunk. Her rough soles refused to stick.

"Like a diamond in the sky."

She looked around for another stepping stone to use, somebody to spring off of for a headstart, but it seemed the others had seen her creative thinking and taken to avoiding her. A shame. They were too intimidated by her wisdom. Eileen wouldn't lie, it was disappointing but not quite unexpected. It would be their loss.

At least with nobody around to watch, she could risk putting a little more weight behind her movements. She backed up to clear some space and then pushed forward off of the balls of her feet, launching forward with a hefty head start... which did not help even the slightest.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little fruits, how I wonder what you cost~"

Eileen returned to camp with a pout and a sparkling apple weighing in her pocket.

Vina let out a sigh of relief when they finally managed to get away from all the threats, or at least the ones that had been chasing them. She'd already been worried when it was only bandits, but having a dragon try to kill them as well had done good job of spooking her, so knowing that at least for now they were out of the dangerous forest was a huge relief. Although it was already getting darker and darker, which was a worry in itself since Vina was aware that in most cases dark implied danger, so even with the bandits and the reptiles behind them that didn't mean there wasn't going to be any danger ahead instead...

There was a moment of confusion when the land ahead appeared to be... The first thing Vina thought of was what happened when someone had designed the bare-base structure of a landscape but hadn't gotten around to adding the graphics yet. All angles and edges, with everything made out of smooth surface without texture, which seemed to be more 'surface' than actual substance. It was only when they got closer and she got a better look that she realized that it wasn't like that. Instead they were riding into a forest where everything seemed to be made out of glass and crystal, a sight which made Vina's eyes go wide in bafflement and amazement as she took in the sight, blue eyes studying the plants, the ground... It was unsettling but also beautiful in a way, and it was something that you wouldn't be able to see on Earth. Even if you tried to make an area filled with nothing but glass it would be unlikely that you could make it look this smooth and flawless. Vina memorized the scenery as best she could, so she'd be able to replicate it on paper later, or at least make a very determined attempt.

When they halted for the night, deciding it too dangerous to continue, Vina got off her wagon, her ears swivelling to one side and then another in an attempt to catch any sounds of the world around them. However it seemed like there was no creature here other than those who were part of the caravan, which saddened Vina a little since she had wanted to see what the animals in this crystallized world would look like. As camp was sent up Vina inspected the crystal world a bit more, but only for a minute or so before she went to help tend to the wounded. She noticed that another Felis was bandaging a wounded soldier, and Vina quickly went over to talk to @Blake Elgis even as she kneeled down next to her. "If he's wounded I can help with the healing." She figured that since Blake was bandaging instead of using magic it meant the wound was still there, and the man looked like any bit of aid would improve his odds of surviving drastically.

Seigi's eyes gazed over the multiple, smaller gatherings of people after she finally snapped out being in awe of the beautiful surroundings. It was the camaraderie between the others that served as a grim reminder to reality for herself.

Giving herself a pitying smile it was stupid of her to think just because of some wagon-chase and bandit attack she was magically friends with a bunch of strangers, right? That was never how it worked. And in a sense, Seigi was socially awkward. After all, she didn't have that many friends in the real world either. Of course the people only wanting to take advantage of her position didn't count... .

No. Ultimately, Seigi was alone. That sounded way too edgy. Maybe, with everything being so calm, the small girl was in fact simply afraid of rejection if she were to cha- "GAAAAAHHHHH!" Seigi, literally, punched herself. "Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!" She was Seigi Ling Ling! The heroic super heroine!

Resting? Sleeping? Cozy time at some campfire? NO. She could sleep when she was dead! It was time for action, and the current course of actions meant. "FLYING ALLIGATORS!" If in doubt: Left. Deciding to simply turn left from her current position Seigi marched out of the camp in full bravado. Any signs of the half-emo girl seconds ago were gone.

"♪~ Alligator~ Flying Gator~ Flying Alligator ♪~" If she were to, in the future, get a pet flying alligator then clearly it was only to her advantage to know the surroundings! Maybe she'd even find their nest! After all the gigantic beauty from earlier was covered partly in those weird crystals, too.
