  1. As Stelluna engaged the beast, properly doing what she did best which was frontline combat, Aria tracked the thing's swift movements as she nocked an arrow against her bow. This particular arrow was one of the set Stampede given to her earlier, supposedly laced with potent paralyzing venom. She wasn't sure it could penetrate its metallic hide but... no harm trying. Alright, Stelluna was keeping it busy... she just had to...

"Wha- hey?!!" Then a purple arcane arrow whizzed far too close to the side of her head, taking a few strands of green hair with it. "Watch it, Bitch!" The Felis Ranger didn't even need to look back to know who was responsible. Aside from the arrow's color, there was only one archer around here who used magical projectiles. Emo Bitch the Dark Magical Girl, gah! She was very sure that the slut was deliberately doing that, assholish it might be, it was a show of great skill and accuracy. Damn it... that kind of power on a psycho like her? It was infuriating. At least, her shot hit its mark, pushing the creature back... though only angered it further as it intensified its slashes and lunges against the Dragoon.

With Stampede perched on a tree and ready to throw the net, Aria shrugged off Magi's 'accidental' friendly fire then took aim once more. Stelluna was getting pushed back, they had to end this fast... "...there!" With all the precision she could muster, she fired. “Ah?" Only for the creature to literally deflect the paralysis arrow with one of its blade limbs, the arrowhead proved no chance against its iron-hard scales.

Then, as if noticing it was facing multiple armed opponents, it started to draw back... then further back. No, she couldn't let it escape! "Tch!" Aria fired another arrow but alas, it was prepared for it and simply weaved with its flexible body, dodging the arrow before it quickly scurried back into the tainted depths of Norforva. Away from sight. Was... was that it? Damn it...

"Ha..." Aria sighed heavily, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Let's just... go back, guys." They certainly wouldn't chase it down into unknown territory in a land tainted with foul blood magic, it was the equivalent of suicide. "At least we tried."

    C'est la vie.

OOC: Looks like RNG isn't being too kind to us this day, folks. Ah well, make your closing post and then I'll post it for our Participation prize.

  2. Failure. That's all that happened today. At least she hadn't been struck by the blades, that would not have ended well at all. Still, throughout the fight, she had noticed a few patches of vulnerable flesh. One day, she would track down the beast once again, and this time it would be on her own terms. No holding back, no trying to capture it, just a fight to its death. It was fought surprisingly well for its appearance, perhaps it was a person once.

She turned to the group, having kept track of where the inn was the entire time. It wasn't like she had some sort of magical map that could point her to where she needed to be after all. And she was pretty sure that a normal map would be useless with the thick foliage covering sight of significant landmarks. She pointed at the direction of the inn with her spear before saying,

    "Inn's that way."

With nothing more she wanted to say, she wandered back to the inn. Today wasn't a very good day and she wasn't in the mood for idle chatter. Still, she knew that she hadn't done very much to capture the beast. She idly wondered if she should have picked out a smaller group for the job so it would be harder to scare off. Then again, it would be harder to attract it in the first place. Too late for regrets now, she would just live with the loss. It wasn't that big of a deal anyways.

"Awwww cruddy! Don't run away Mr. Blademan! No ones suffering yet! What a wussy! Did you hear me dumbass?! Come baaaaack and cut stuffff!"

Tenebris shut a bunch of arrows finally getting more serious, unfortunately it was too late. The arrows stuck into trees and the ground, but did not actually hit anyone or draw any blood! Damn it all. This was boring and dumb. This was a waste of time, Tenebris actually agreed with these noobs on that point.

"Gee whiz, I'm leaving. Digging arrowheads into pregnant bunnies gives a better time than this dumb quest. I'm poofing."

Tenebirs put a finger under her left eye and pulled down while sticking her tongue out at the useless team she foolishly thought would be worth hanging with for even a second. Then she turned around and left. Using Arcanamancy after a few more steps to transport herself out of sight. The Dark Heart may as well go back to the manor and see what Saber was up to.

  4. Somehow Stampede wasn’t so surprised of the results.

All 3 of them aren’t much of the hunting and ambush type like he is but then again things wouldn’t be any different either. They were just too obvious for their target or rather he was right in assuming that it wasn’t as stupid as any other battle hungry fauna. If that thing used to be human then after all it might have gone through, its intellect remains intact. From the treetop in which he hid, he would already have left the scene out of disinterest.

Quite disappointing but consider those arrows a friendly gesture, for who knows? Maybe one day they’ll buy you a second and save your life.

He texted aria before finally leaving the party.

But this doesn’t mean he’s going to give up on his hunt now, oh no, he was dead set on trying to kill it for score. To him, the forest of Norfova was just a new neighborhood he has to explore but dare not stay long enough in this cursed place, at least he must return to the Adecus forest and withdraw some of his best equipment hidden in his hidden caches somewhere. When the time is right, he will hunt it down and capture it, if not kill it before anyone does.

Besides, Stamp didn’t just do nothing but climb a tree while stelluna was fighting. He already tracked the target the moment it came out and surprised the entire group. It was heading to the mountains and the darker regions, according to what he’s seen.

One thing he didn’t get was that his party gave up and left. Or perhaps they had other things in mind besides this hunt? One thing for sure, all three of them weren’t good hunters nor have anything prepared for a non-lethal capture, rather prep for a skirmish.

“Right… I have to buy cigars first… and I’m running out of them” he jumped from tree to tree as he disappeared, taking a different route to the nearest village.
