    Greater Earth Elemental Legs
    〈 0 / 250 HP 〉

As the Greater Earth Elemental's legs are attacked once more, the rock and rubble collapse. The enemy lets itself sink into the ground around it rather than toppling over or falling, melding seamlessly into the element it is one with. The movement does not change its stance and it remains with at the odd angle with an arm across its chest and the other held tense behind it.

This post does not refresh cooldowns or start a new cycle.

  4. This time, Verity hadn't buffed her as she'd requested- which was good! It meant the others hopefully got a boost from his buff than if she was getting some too. Seeing their 'tanks' getting hammered, the girl focused on them- one having more energy, she sent a full healing attack at him, best she could.

"Alric, you'll be next! Gotta keep you two in tip top shape, and it's better one at a time!" She turned to @Alric Stalwart as she called to him, before turning to Kijin with a nod. The two of them would do great things working together, wouldn't they? "Let's beat these last two parts and get out of here!"

  7. For a split moment he could feel his body cry out in pain as the monster unleashed another wave in their group's direction. By creating the defensive line with Kijin, the pair was able to protect the rest of the party with relative ease. Alric could feel his body getting heavy now as various bruises and cuts started to plague his skin. Dirt and dust clung to his equipment and in between ragged breaths he watched as the purple haired spellcaster took out the elemental's legs.

No matter how he looked at it a blow like that must have left the thing hurting. He wasn't about to let it recover though! First he would break into a run toward the furthest arm, the one being used to maintain it's balance now. With it planted on the ground the limb acted as the perfect ramp for leading to the creature's upper body. Well almost perfect; the serrated nature of the arm made it difficult to actually climb and chipped away at Alric’s health as he ascended. He would only stop upon reaching his target: The glowing spot that seemed to form its joint. Raising his shield he smashed against it repeatedly while using his other hand to hand on for dear life.

“I really fucking hope they don't hit this thing before I come down…” He mumbled. Knowing his teammates he wouldn't put it past them. With that in mind he'd have to retreat for now, getting cut by the rocks on the way back down until he was on (mostly) stable land again

  10. Kijin let out a hiss as his blade bounced off earthy chitin once more. Each recoil manifested as a quake in his arms, which slowly built to an exhausting twitch and shiver that forced him to slow down and measure every breath.

He carved away more of the bulky rock and it split away with the same fervor as before, only now as time dragged on, he felt the full effect of standing firm against a massive foe.

It was nothing short of an experience.

    Son of a-

Kijin cursed himself silently for being too slow, as his opponent raked a massive arm across the battlefield and directly at him. The least he could do was warn everyone else.

"Everyone, scatter!" he cried out. "Something big is coming!"

  11. Nat One Event: Haymaker

As Kijin dives into the fight and slashes at the tensed arm of the Greater Earth Elemental, there is a sudden piercing crack that resounds through the sheer walls of the valley. Something in the joint has broken. In a blinding movement, unheeded by the shield or the warning, the Elemental loses the tension in the limb all at once. Like a broken coil, it flies forward and slams into the chest of the fighter.

The Elemental doesn't just stop with the initial assault, once meant to create another AOE ground pound now focused on a sole individual, and completes the arch of its curving strike. It attacked with more than enough force to send the human flying, but the trajectory instead slams him into the ground and pins him beneath an unmoving fist. The eyeless creature seems to peer down at him before pointedly shifting its weight to rest almost entirely on the sword-bearer's torso.

While the others cannot hear it over the sounds of battle and grinding rock, you, Kijin, hear with perfect clarity the cracking of ribs and what might be your sternum. The air has been knocked from your lungs in one punishing blow and you struggle to breathe around the weight that seems to grow and grow by the second.

Stone Fist Haymarker: @Kijin Shihaku's block (59+5=64) offers little protection from the point-blank punch from a multi-ton Elemental made of stone. You take -50 HP, having only mitigated 10 HP of the attack.

Pinned!: @Kijin Shihaku is stuck beneath the fist of the Greater Earth Elemental until the arm is destroyed. Destroying the arm may deal some damage to him, but luckily it has little mass left to it after the repeated attacks.

  14. Lucia only flashed a dark smile when the monster swung it's fist to pin down Kijin. A grim and hostile smile, the kind that was more becoming of her profession then her typical gentle demeanor. "Now is the time-- The conditions have been met. Sylvanas, Mortimer, Papyrus, Sans, Stand!" She shouted with a hand gesture, lifting her free hand, lowering her Grimoire as she sent her command. Slowly but surely the undead she summoned began to change. The wraiths that floated like specters emiting a faint green light began to glow more resplendently as the color changed to a deep bloody red. Lucia's Death knights began to stand one after another, forcing their way through the earth to rise up with the Elven Commander at the head, the soft cotton white hair of the knight whipped about as her crimson eyes seethed with an icy and frigid hate. Even the amusing politicians began to rise from the earth, each with blazing eyes, one a deep ocean blue while the other had a vibrant earthy yellow.

The ring on Lucia's finger began to glow emitting a bright red malevolent light. The conditions to use it's active ability had been met. She visualized it as the turning point in the conflict as she raised her hand towards the monster ahead of them. "I am the voice of the dead! Our cries cast shadows over mountains, our shouts pollute rivers, our roars course through every living heart! While our God is silent, my blood pact holds firm-- Seidou Goui, Through me, the fallen and forgotten roar as one!" She spoke loudly urging the undead to advance. The familiar pained magic filled her body, thinking back to that time when Synra first gave her a Necronomicon, when she first summoned Sylvanas, vicious and uproaring laughter came from her as the undead coordinated. Bone spurs stabbing into the stone elemental's hand from necromatic spells, clubs and shields crashing into the creature's wrist, chains dragging back the remains of the arms drawing them out. The finishing blow came from the short stubby skeleton who flicked his wrist splintering the creature's arms with bleached bones from the ground as if called from some cold abyssal place. "As if I'd let you take one of mine so easily..." Lucia practically snorted at the Elemental's attempt as Blood Pact on her finger came to life bringing to light the Wonderous Tier Equipment.

  17. Morna had helped to do some damage. Barely any. Even as she was the last one to strike the beast, she watched as the elemental yelled out once more in its native tongue, and slammed it's foot down. Morna ran from the beast as it was raising it's foot, and dove behind Kijin to allow him to block most of the AOE damage. She watched as a little aura covered him from being healed, and just in time as both of the tanks were attacking, The beast slapped it's arm down on top of Kijin.

    "Oh shit."

Morna wanted to stay back and buff herself or an ally to do more damage. However, Kijin was taking damage from the arm. Someone needed to draw the attention of the elemental towards themselves. Alric was backing up from just now attacking, and everyone else seemed to be finishing off the legs. Letting it drop to the ground, and then working on the arms to free Kijin. Morna needed to take the reins from him. With his health so low, he couldn't defend anyone. Taking too much damage would ruin him.

Bringing her sword to the side, Morna rushed the beings chest. Yelling with fury and doing everything possible to get attention to her. She slashed time and time again at the beings chest as the arm was still down on her ally. She wasn't in berserk mode, but she was pissed off.

Even though her weapon did little damage to the being, it was the most she could do at the time.

The quick and efficient actions of his teammates no doubt saves Kijin from a slow and painful death, buckling under the weight of a stone titan. The destruction of the arm by Lucia's many summons rains sharp rubble down on them all, but it is nothing compared to the retributions from before. There simply isn't enough stone left to make the limb anything more than a weak attempt at an arm. It crumbles away.

"SAA SCHKEIR, SCHKEIR, SCHKEIR! YOOR SCHKEIR!"

The Greater Elemental throws back its head to roar so loud that rocks all around valley tremble and are sent clattering down the sides of the narrow passage walls. The massive limbs and armor that devouring its kin offered are gone and it is forced to reform into its original shape. The massive head of the creature sways side to side as if to scan over the fighters left and the featureless rock shifts to form a snarling statuesque expression. It mocks their battle faces with the mimicry before it stands taller. For a second the gathered team can glimpse the obsidian core within the monstrosity before the stone armor rolls back over it. It turns to leer down at the Necromancer with the hollow useless sockets it has shaped into its face and rumbles like thunder. It laughs.

A glow slithers through the cracks of its chest, quickly growing and fading all at once, before the earth beneath you all shifts. The Greater Elemental hunkers down, the reformed hands from before now pressed into the earth and its head bowed as if in the worship of something greater than itself. All around you, the earth begins to crack and tremble, much like the tremors from the cliffside road that led you here.

A ring of short spires rise around its hand, made purely of the valley's rock save the obsidian tipped point. They slide back into the ground and instead taller versions of the spires erupt a foot from Lucia, nose-to-nose with Solaria, and in between Morna and Vivian before sliding back to the underground! Two more shoot up on either side of Alric, both missing him. The Elemental presses its hand through the ground and begins to sink into the crust of the earth.

  21. Spires formed around Vivian as her spell circled crumbled from the broken land. She moved left and right and was more or less ping-ponged against two spires as she attempted to evade but with no luck. Out of furious retribution of a toddler, she began to stomp on the ground like a child having a tantrum as her life slithered into the yellow. Her eyes erupted with dread as she stepped away from the broken land and watched as the Earth Elemental pick itself up and reform to a shadow of its former self.

Purple energy blasted from the woman as her angry eyes set forth on the walking stone soldier. She raised her hands above her head as a new spell circle began to twist and turn beneath her feet. One leg raised due to the broken and unstable ground she stood, Vivian began to chant out a self destructive spell that would help collapse the core within.

Speaking in wild tongue, her former blue eyes shifted and turned to a radiant byzantium purple. Her arms moving in circles in front of her face as she shifted her weight and 'tossed' the spell in the direction of the Elemental. With an invisible force, the curse made way through the rubble vines of the Thing and pushed its way through the core exhausting itself as it stood. For a moment it seemed her attack had finished it off, but it only slowed it down.

  24. With the legs and arms completely broke down in pieces, it was only the matter of time until this elemental will share the same fate as Azog. From releasing @Kijin Shihaku from its grip to the crumbling shell around its body, he knew it was time to end this.

Unfortunately, it seemed to try everything just to kill them as it released several pillars in their direction, much to his horror. Thinking quickly, he quickly ran from the pillars to avoid them altogether. However, this didn't mean he can't escape the elemental's final attack unscathed as he barely dodged on them as he jumped right to avoid them, causing his HP to chipped down more of it.

"Dammit. I really hate it when that happens." He wasn't kidding as he held onto his side where one of the remains of the pillar scratched. Shrugging off the pain, he changed his stance as he focused on the elemental very intensely. @Vivian Cruz already made a lot of damage to it, now it was his turn to attack. "Recedo!"

With a gust of wind enveloping around him, Verity quickly dashed into the elemental as he let electricity gather to his right hand before he muttered, "Praemium est in fulgur!" Once he recited the incantation, he jumped in front of it before he pushed the gathered electricity to the rock elemental. "Adieu."

    skill

As the deed was done, electricity then exploded right in front of the elemental as several bolts of it pierced through its weakened armor. He then landed right near the other adventurers, which he witnessed what it may be the downfall of the great elemental to another adventurer.

  27. With his shield raised he ran toward the elemental, avoiding debris and attacks as he got closer and closer to the creature. The monster was on it's last legs now and after the assault of his teammates was within the danger zone.

This last hit would have to be the one that ended it. Kijin couldn't take another hit and with his limited energy reserve Alric probably wouldn't last too long after that.

Seeing as everyone else was murdering the remains with great strength, she wanted to make sure it had no time to heal itself and attacked at the same time- or as best as she could in timing- with her teammates. While half of her was inclined to keep to healing (considering Kijin was in the major red zone of his health), her inclination to destroy anything that harmed her friends had taken over. Martyr Complex flashing an alarm bell harder than ever with how bad some of the health levels had dropped, she called a curse of a battle cry while slamming her sword into the remains of the already deceased monster.

  33. The initial impact robbed him of all air.

Kijin braced as best he could, but the immense speed with which the earthen beast shifted its sinister intent all onto the swordsman offered no room for error. He held the flat of his blade out with the intention of catching the powerful blow and redirecting it from his allies.

The blow that he got was meant for him alone.

With a wicked crack, the unfortunate defender impacted the Gaian fist. He smacked the soil once, head and arms flailing like a rag doll as loamy earth cushioned his suffering for all of a single instant.

Wedged between the ground and the wrath of an Elemental, blood spewed from his gaping lips in lieu of the sound that would never come. Pain blossomed through every inch of the swordsman as he fought hard to get even an ounce of air, and the only reward it afforded him was the ability to suffer more.

Muscles stretched to their limit and tore as he fought a losing battle against the Force of Nature. Entombed beneath a veritable mountain, his bones creaked, ground, and gave. Thankful only that this was a game and not reality, Kijin heard his own internal scream as his health points dripped away.

In the real world, he would never have survived this.

He watched in wretched silence as the others were driven forward by his loss, pushed to extremes and afforded the power to decimate the enemy before them. As the pressure slipped away, more breath returned to him.

    And still, everything hurt.

The swordsman only managed to sit up with assistance from his blade, dug into the dirt to act as a crutch. "I'll be damned," he rasped.

Kijin regretted his decision to speak.

    "They actually did it."

  36. As soon as Morna took the spot, it seemed that no one cared for that, and instead went to attack the beast head on. She was surprised with how quickly they attacked. Each just barging in and giving it their all. All of them fighting and even bringing the bar of the creatures health lower and lower.

Morna seeing the spires rising up from the ground, Dodged out of the way. side stepping the line that was thrown up between myself and Kijin. However, as soon as that attack was launched, the beast's health reached zero. Instead of attacking, Sheturned to kijin and walked over to him.Considering his stats, his health and as a berserker, it was very likely he had realistic pain settings.

Meaning that pinning move done by the Elemental was sure to be one hell of a pain. Morna thought getting smacked by a horse and then a rock to the back was painful. Being pinned by literal tons of rocks and stones was another thing.

Kijin was leaning on his sword from the pain, and his health was so low that I was surprised he hadn't entered his berserkers rage. Either way, I came over and sat beside him. Leaning my back against his own so he didn't have to support himself with just a sword. Hopefully the supports could heal them or we could finish our night of rest so they could heal up some before tomorrow.

Otherwise, there was no way we were going to be able to find this prison

    profile
    The Besieged Outlook

After your vicious fight against the Greater and Lesser Earth Elementals, all of your band of not-so-merry men (and women) have survived. The stone creature lays defeated as its core is unable to support the crumbling body, a final crack in the stone moving deep enough inward to shatter the smooth, glassy, black core of the being. While the attacks have ceased, the ground still trembles minutely as you all catch your breath and time is of the essence. Your fight has dragged on far longer than it should have and the time to move further up the trail has come. The camp is quickly unmade, packed up, and the spooked horses hiding at the edge of the small valley are soothed into coming closer at last.

Little stands in your way, even as paranoid eyes scan and cautious steps are taken. The faint quakes come and go, but nothing comes to claim what little of your lifeforce remains. The path slopes upwards for a little ways longer before it splits as the mountain passage ends. You have successfully reached the other side as a new day dawns. A harried outpost stands not too far from your position. Your target at last! It looks to have been built on the bones of an older construction, but at this distance, the details are far too blurry. The weaving path through the slopes of the mountain on the way to it is lined with spires similar to the ones summoned by your enemy in its dying moments. Perhaps you aren't the only ones to have had trouble with them.

Any questions as to the activity of the elementals prior to attacking your campsite, or the location of your assigned scout, are quickly answered. On one of the spires is the limp body of Atei, half twisted as if frozen in place in the struggle to free himself. As your party nears a shape shifts on the slack shoulder of the scout. The falcon peers back with golden eyes, a cluster of papers tied around its leg. If anyone moves to read them, it does not fight it.

    Letter

    Hail My Liege,

The outpost you sent this team to find and secure has been sighted. I will soon return to them and await dawn to assail it with them. There are traces of odd activity in the region and I have found tracks unlike any man's. Similar, but the sizes and strides are an unknown to me. I would request we investigate further at a later time, but I will leave such deliberations in your capable hands, Princess.

By the time your most noble forces receive this letter, it will no doubt be claimed under your flag and will be ready for us to take and hold to stabilize the region as per your orders. We will continue onwards after that as directed.

If you have the time, please forward the second message attached to Christine Burrows. As amusing as it can be, Ei has the most vexing distaste for her and refuses to return to her arm as he will your own. I suspect it's jealousy. Go with glory, Your Highness.

    Eyes Up,
    Atei Amvell

The second missive mentioned is sealed with wax and tucked into a fold at the bottom of the paper. For beings that come after the tidings of earthquakes and with forms made of stone, the Earth Elementals appear to be more than used to stealth tactics if they managed to catch a scout of the princess unawares.

Speaking of surprises, a rather friendly-sounding voice rings out through the quiet morning air. You can distantly see the silhouette of a soldier on the roof of the lookout tower against the rising sun. "Oi, Li! Cairne musta got through with that call for backup! Our saviors at las- wait I'm not seein' no Falderen banners over there. Oh shit, shit, Lionel, Terrance, I think we got some of them Astorean- Yes I'm sure! I'm not blind, my vision's not that bad you- Why you?!" The figure is yanked back inside and another man replaces him on the balcony.

"You lot, over here! Uhh, whoever you are we need help so I'm not too bothered whose flag you're under. Hurry up before one of them hears us!" He waves and motions your team closer. He is notably unaggressive and welcoming despite the traces of horrific fighting surrounding the outpost and the sounds of a heated debate from the building behind him.

Upon approach, the barred door of the outpost opens almost immediately to show three haggard figures. Regardless of the team's tone, not one of them lifts a weapon or shows aggression. Their frames, even the more muscular of the three, show an unhealthy gauntness that speaks of a lack of food. The tallest of them sports bandages stained with old blood and all of their clothes beneath the armor appear dotted with blood, dirt, and sweat. "Tyl keep me, not a Falderen in the bunch! See, I told you-" The bulkier soldier gives the bandaged one a firm look that shuts him up quick before he steps out cautiously to meet you all.

"Morning. I understand you lot are here on your way to your people, yeah? We got news of the trap and were told to move further up the mountain from our usual post to keep watch. If they want us to fight you, they're out of luck. Bunch of those rocky fuckers have caused nothing but trouble and killed half my men. Don't even get me started on those weird, squat, little things that nip at their heels. You want this place? You can have it. The price is taking us when you go. This place is a damned death trap and I want out. Don't get paid enough for this, that fifty gold bonus can shove it."

    "They pay you what?"
