  3. Despite the lack of a one hundred percent vote, the majority at least agreed on escaping this place due to the circumstances, Maybe this will lower my blood pressure. Maybe. Gazing at the group's scout, the guy pulled out an orange whistle, which upon being blown made no sound. The Felis raised a brow, not quite certain what their ally was up to. As it were, the group's sole ally was not just the scout, but a woman in ragged clothing who seemed to have gotten up on the wrong side of the caffeine meter. Both hands were raised, Alonso revealing his full capacity to cooperate at this point despite the suggestion about @Seigi.

Oh, right, the two girls were trying to run off and play espionage hero.

Nodding, the over sized cat man crouched down and rushed after the heroine in training. If it were not for being a Felis, he doubted his body would have caught up to the girl. Alonso made a near baseball slide to Seigi's side, bent down, and went to pick her up and place her back with the group, "Thaaat's not happening sweetie. Just stay with us and we can finish this quickly, without getting hurt." While perhaps not as impulsive as Kaede, to the man's knowledge, he was still going to keep an eye on the energetic lass. By now the instinct remained of keeping an eye on the bodies of youth, all filled with energy creating sugar that never ends.

Madness began once the team started to run train throughout the facility. Downside remained that rebuilding the equipment was a thing if the place ended up being taken over regardless, but sacrifices had to be made. Alonso began to smash various boxes and crates on Orange Team's way, tossing otherwise good materials into slow burning fires. That included weapons hanging on the various racks strewn about the forge areas. Melting swords and spears was a surefire way to be certain the blades and points were dull, unsatisfactory wastes of space.

  6. Suddenly, Seigi's heroic stunt came to an abrupt end as she started flying! Well, not quite, but her small body was nonetheless two meters into the air as the gigantic @Alonso Thorlion lifted her up. "Let me down this instant! Nin." The girl complained, though wasn't that stupid to yell loudly.

It was all for nothing though. After all, Seigi was just a mere matchstick for the well-built cat-dad. Nonetheless, Seigi knew how to struggle! And while she was more-or-less silent with the occasional very unheroic-like curse she wiggled around like a fish knowing its last minutes had come.

At the very least, as if through sheer luck, her flailing managed to punch the one or other rather fragile looking wooden beam that made for quite a small chain-reaction... .

  9. There was little that Emil could honestly do to help conceal himself and his teammates as they made their way. Perhaps if he were a higher level, he could mask their scent with smoke or create something to aid the tendrils already dancing into the sky from their previously failed explosive venture. Outside of that, he could only keep up with the scout and this new woman they were aiding while he kept his head down and hoped that his shoes didn’t make too much noise.

He was agitated and most of his brain was contemplating just exiting the game and not finishing the mission. This wasn’t how he had envisioned this whole thing to go and for that, he was in a sour mood. He kept his mouth shut and his attention on the NPCs. Briefly, he’d glance at the others, his eyes hard as boulders as he committed their faces to memory.

This wasn’t to say that he didn’t aid in destroying the forge that they were going through. Finding a pile of untreated metal sword, Emil activated his burning hands ability, wincing and hissing as the flames licked at his flesh before jumping toward the swords. Using what little strength he had, he bent the metal swords, making sure that they wouldn’t be able to be used in battle.

  12. Without any real explanation, there was some lady in rags who had appeared randomly from nowhere! She seemed to be in charge as far as Megan could tell which was pretty cool. "She must be a super powerful wizard..." Megan said in a half whisper to @Seigi. The lady in charge explained briefly about how their target was unreachable directing them to do damage as they escaped, but Megan had stopped listening at some point summoning a spell of ice after watching Seigi be manhandled by the large man cat guy. In fact, it was the third time he had manhandled one of the girls during this short adventure causing Megan to turn to him with an icy gaze, "Pervert! Put her down!" she screamed as her mind slowly unreeled his previous actions. Sure they each seemed innocent enough, of course, he 'had' to untangle Kaede, and of course he 'had' to carry her to the top of the mountain, and now she was sure he had 'some good' reason to get within physical proximity of them. It was just all too convenient and likely a set up from the very beginning!

Of course, @Alonso Thorlion begun to run away, forcing Megan to follow along while chanting and waving her staff about. Her movements were not graceful, to say the least, she had not practiced spellcasting while moving, and it showed in several lines missed causing her spells to whiz dramatically off target flinging large icicles into nearby buildings, "PUT HER DOWN!" She demanded as she did so, never actually managing to send a spell in his direction.

  15. Aerana wondered if it wasn't her who had been done wrong in the past life, but her who had been doing the wronging. For a supposed team, they were quite hostile to one another and not working together all that well. Then again, that may be why they were sent on the harder mission, to get rid of them or have an excuse to. Okay, putting those thoughts aside, Aerana did have a way to help. Impurities in the metal could often make weapons brittle, right? That's what the town blacksmith said a while back and even though she wasn't sure exactly how make such impurities, she would improvise. After all, a satchel of alchemical ingredients had to have something worth using in this situation, right?

  18. _____Kaede turned as crimson as her hair when she first felt someone pulling on her ear to cut her from going away. Doing what she can to turn her head all the while getting ready with her weapon before seeing the woman and hearing her warning. Nodding slowly as the shade of crimson remained and she nervously rubbed her ear trying not to whimper from the feeling. She could have just asked her and she would have listened, puller her ear was just way too much. Moving slowly at first before she rushed off to do as she was told.

_____If the group was about to cross a group of threats she would wave her hand for them to stop, and every so often kaede would vanish into the chaos to go set up a small landmine magic to blast someone apart if they approached it. It was not exactly her best works but it was enough for the short time she had with each before needing to rush back to the group to help guide them along the way. Taking a moment of her time to run beside the girl with patch clothing who had pulled her ear as she nervously tried to speak up.

”Next time… please don’t pull my ear… I’ll listen to you without that being needed…”

_____Nervous for what she might do Kaede would once again vanish into the fort to set more traps of magic and work to make sure pursuit would cast them some arms and legs rather literal. Not how she wanted the mission to go, but maybe next time around she could show off before the princess and get permission to maybe join her ranks or least start training to help the girl out. High hoping but she needed a life in the game if she was going to be playing it as much as she had been.

”To be fair… if I get close to her right now… I might do something I would regret… I need to get that other persona detained… that should be my main focus after this is all over.”

Through the group's combined effort, the group were able to destroy a lot of the equipment and forging tools the town would have contributed to King Theodore's army. So even as the adventurers may have been bitter about their half-defeat, their actions had contributed to Astorea in the upcoming invasion at least.

With the help of the scout @Alonso Thorlion @Emil Trevelyan @Aerana @Seigi @Megan Tritor @Kaede Hoshi made their escape from the fortress, climbing back over the mess of the wall they had made an while back. Once they were on the other side of the wall, anyone with Hunter might have seen the group of religious pilgrims and soldiers escorting them running back toward the town as the alarm bells continued to ring as the small town was lit up by fire from torches. As the group left their objective behind, they could hear the voice of people they may have to fight in a week's time.

When the group got back to their wagon, the spy woman looked at each of their faces and let out a soft sigh.

"Look, stop looking so gloomy, I know it wasn't a part of the plan to fail like this, but that place was seriously dangerous. Even if we had managed to off the head of the town, a few of us would likely have die for it, so it's better this way."

"Yeah, what she said. While everyone was busy destroying stuff inside the forge and the equipment storage, I gathered a few things you adventurer could use, check this out..."
After the scout finished speaking outside the wagon, he hopped onto the wagon and turned his large, clattering backpack upside down. Gravity did its work as a number of items fell out from the bag and scattered onto the floor.

  20. Megan and company managed to at least get some distance between themselves and the fortress prison. Despite the others, best efforts Megan was unsure they had actually accomplished anything of note except being a minor distraction, on the other hand, she had never really been sure what they had expected in the first place. At the end of the day, there were only six of them, versus an entire fortress of guards and others, it was likely an impossible task. Speaking of impossible tasks, stopping the large cat man had proven to be one, as he easily slipped out of her spell targeting as they swiftly ran. Or perhaps, more accurately, Megan couldn't aim to worth anything while on the move. It was something she'd have to think of for future battles. After all, it didn't make sense for the worlds best Hydromancer to not be able to fire ice whilst moving. Snapping her out of her thoughts the scout spoke up, showing off a small collection of items he had intended for them to have. Megan pat her lip, before pointing at one specifically stating, "Clearly that's intended for me."

  21. Seigi wasn't all too sure if she was supposed to be happy about this, or not. Somehow, they still managed to succeed without a single drop of blood. But at the same time it could have been different, too, no? Was this truly a tactical retreat or...? Did she give it her 120%? The small heroine was rather gloomy and silent as she was swallowed by self-doubt for a few, critical, seconds.

    Bam!

It was another one of these times where ultimately, the girl literally punched herself. No regrets. Always full speed ahead. This was supposed to be fun. She was supposed to have fun. Not spending too much time thinking and brooding over useless details! And hey running high-tails out of a kind-of-burning-castle was somehow fun, wasn't it?! On top she was able to see the world from above thanks to Alonso! So all in all this was a good...experience? Not to mention she was allowed to say Nin all the time!

"Hahahaha! Let's do this again some time!" Seigi said with a broad smile before she eyed the goodies, not really paying all too much attention on what she was actually aiming for. "I take this!"

  22. Emil was very quiet and withdrawn as the group made their way back to the wagon. He was, for one, happy that this entire thing was over. For two, he was still pissed at how everything had turned out. It would’ve been nice to go after the lord, but the rest of the group had had a point. They barely had the teamwork to climb a freaking wall; taking on a high level fighter – if the Keep Lord was even a fighter to being with! – was asking for more trouble than they could hand. He raked his nails through his hair and rolled his shoulders, easing the tension he felt there. Settling into the wagon, he gave a glance over the pile of loot they were to pick from and selected an item with a smile. Well, at least they got treasure.

  23. Whatever the whole debacle was, Aerana was glad it was all over. While the other people may have said something about the whole operation being a failure, she thought it was a stunning success. Nobody died and something had happened. Looking over the items for display, nearly all of them piqued her interest. Some were of a magical sort, which was always nice for her to learn from while the same went for the potions. The stockings on the other hand, were quite nice and elegant. Then again, she wondered where they came from. If she received them, she would definitely want to give them a wash before wearing.

  24. Sitting down for once, what a concept! Today's mission was more bumpy than the grown man preferred, from the silly version of climbing a wall, to the group's inability to formulate a proper bomb. Well, in a sense if anybody knew how to make a bomb so easy he would be a little concerned for that player's real life self. Who knows what career choices all of these people made outside of the game. Leading his borrowed mount to follow the wagon, the Felis sighed and gazed off into the open air. Now was the time to reconsider his thought processes. Should he start taking masteries which will prove vital to things outside of combat? Or should he focus on his main build and be a combat based powerhouse? No, he still had time to think through all of that.

Besides, he promised Astor his next mastery was going to be Artisan regardless.

Pondering his inner thoughts came to a close as his eyes moved towards @Megan Tritor. That's right, she tried to accuse him of being a pervert earlier. Alonso sighed, eyes narrowed as his baritone vocals worked their magic, "By the way, don't you accuse me of being a pervert. Pretty sure I'm old enough to be your father, and I have two daughters of my own as is. In addition, women are not interesting to me in a romantic manner. Just so you know before you start yelling at people you just met." He gave a shrug, leaning back in his seat after solving that issue.

  25. _____At the end Kaede was the last down the wall, a slight flip to get off the last few feet to reduce the time wasted before she ran after the group. She did not feel like much of a talking mood as she looked back towards the smoke of the fort before jumping her way to the roof of the wagon and laying down to just listen to the others. If she did not feel like a burden she might have offer them to come eat at her restaurant to help think things over and how to improve. Yawning as she heard about the loot and would wait until the others had been done before leaving over the back end of the wagon and taking the last item left behind.

”You got a long way to go before you can make a real difference Kaede… And a lot of personal issues to sort out before you try to work with others on something like this…”

_____Moving to lay back on the top of the wagon she simply watched the skies and tried to plan everything out. Needless to say she would need to take that vacation week or two to sort some of these things out but thankfully she had that choice and could do it. Stretching herself out and thankfully nobody exactly chose to ride on the top with her she enjoyed the bumps in the road. A small chant escaping her lips to sooth her mind and block out the sounds of the horses drawing the wagon as she just tried to take life a moment at a time and savor them. Who knows maybe the time just playing the game could help Kaede’s stress and depression go down a couple levels.

”Just hope my restaurant does not go under while i'm on vacation ha-ha. Would suck to have to give that place up…”
