  3. Everything made the man uneasy. Which only amplified itself because anxiousness was an emotion Zelrius didnt feel often. Thr Nobleman cared little for anything in his life recently, and therefore, very little worried him, resigned to a dull state of "Nothing Matters". Some would say that its unhealthy, others would go as far to call him things like "bum" and "lazyass", though eventually he eas desensitized to these insults.

Except when Zelrius' own mind would call him it. However, now he felt trapped, unable to contribute much. The golden haired man would keep his deep set blue eyes locked onto the ground, lifting them every few minutes when he convinced himself that it wasnt that bad. Only to be struck by an intense fear everytime his eyes left the ground and gazed upon the hoard of bipedal amphibians. It'd block his speech, his throat tightening in terror, until he stared back at the ground and would say nothing once more.

This is where his own conscious would insult him, sending the man into deep fristration. He couldnt help at all, even as the Vine ladder failed, his fear keeping him out of any way to contribute. So, as the team roamed through the tunnel, Zelrius remained silent. His normally joking or otherwise determined speech now nothing but grunts with ech few steps.

With his eyes glued to the ground, something seemed off about it, not quite cavernous. These suspicions were only confirmed by the rumbling and shouts of running, of which were preceded by some mucus covering the party members.

Frantically, yet still hushed, The swordsman turned foot and began to move though his rising apprehension quite hindered his ability to be agile.

  6. Blake smiled as Vina smiled back at her, but when she kissed her in the cheek, she couldn't help but feel extremely embarassed and jubilant at the same time, letting her with a wide smile on her face at the same time that her cheeks were bright red. It was a pleasant feeling, to say anything. While it was embarassing that she got a kiss, the fact that it was from Vina made the heat on her cheeks feel quite nice. And she made that quite clear by hopping towards the insides of the tunnel.

Once there, she figured something was wrong when the frog stopped leading them. But why? Was it that hard to just bring a few frog soldiers to help them in the breakthrough? Bah, they would have to do it by themselves then. Although, she did not expect to have to deal with smelly slime, eeeeew! She quickly shaked it off of her, before noticing the ground going slimy. She did not catch it at first, but when the scout explained... Well, cue a panicked kitty.

She started to run for dear life, not quite keen on turning into rotten paste inside a forgotten tunnel. But at the start, the vines were catching up to her, and she almost lost her feet due to the slippery ground she was rushing through. Despair started to grow on her as she noticed that as she was going, she wasn't going to make it. Just as she was getting caught by the vines, she felt something. Something helping her burst through the tunnels, at a speed she couldn't hope to achieve, and fast enough to avoid the vines, even if just barely. She then noticed from where it came. The supports of the group, especially Vina, were helping the others with magic. That made her grow a smile on her face, before she finally managed to outrun the tendrils, preparing herself to hug Vina as hard as she could when she reached her.

  9. The last couple minutes had been a blur as Blithe watched their team both win and then fail, finally coming to their final decision to enter the tunnel. Blithe herself was exhausting, her body acheing as her health was still dipped dangerously low. She hoped all would be well from here on forward, but the frogman bothered her. Her beast taming skills were still pretty high and he was considered, well... Slightly a beast, so it bothered her. She paused for a minute and cocked her head to the side at him, looking at her party as she was about to speak up, but they can already walked in. And, alas, she was forced to follow.

As they entered the slimy tunnel, it just got worse and worse the farther they headed in. Blithe had started to tip toe through the tunnel, with long strides as she made a disgusted face, nose wrinkled up as she looked on ahead, trying to catch up with her friends, "Hey, wait for-" Immediately as she opened her mouth she regretted it, tasting the acid on her tongue. She coughed a couple times before making a small 'bleh' sound, then hurried on ahead, only to be stopped in her tracks.

Everything erupted into hell yet again as the scout began to exclaim their true whereabouts, and she turned in her heels and ran once again as fast as she could, teeth clamped together and eyes wide with fright. She had gotten splashed just as she had gotten there and the acidic green goo burned her skin, but thankfully she had geared up before she even thought about heading in. Nonetheless, the only thought in her mind at this current moment? Get out, get out, get out.

However, as she ran, she remembered her teammates and her role. She could help them, couldn't she? That was her job... As support. So, opening her mouth, she began to sing a fast paced song, ignoring the stinging at her throat as her voice rang throughout the tunnel, giving a speed boost to her other companions around her. And with that, she threw her hand up in the air in two thumbs out, focusing on getting out.

    White Rescue Team: Cliffside

After their wild adventure and narrow escape from literal bowel of a plant monster, @Romulus @Claire Thalassa @Magi Heart @Blithe Bombón @Zelrius @Vina Skysong and @Blake Elgis found themselves inside a seemingly vacant space. Since there was little room to move around, some of the group members found themselves pressing against the wall, which seemed to be packed with wet dirt. It was incredibly uneven as well. With one touch, anyone could tell that this space was not made by human at all.

The space was no taller than 173 cm so anyone taller would have had to bend their neck to fit. If anyone had looked closely, they would have noticed that the ceiling appeared to be a large stone plate that were commonly used to floor castle and fortresses. They were beneath the fortress they were supposed to infiltrate!

If the group worked together to push the large stone plate at the ceiling to the side, they would have been able to climb up and help pull the rest of the team up; though the smiley acidic enzyme would have made it difficult, evidenced by how the scout (who narrowly escaped the tunnel of death thanks to the combined effort of the entire team) kept on falling down because he was too slippery.

"Shit, sorry, I am totally losing my cool after running through that hellish tunnel, give me a hand again, will ya?"

The rest of the mission was a cakewalk compared to their journey up until then. After the entire group pulled themselves up from the hole, they only had to sneak up to the doors and tear down all of the fortification. Then, all it took was a big push to get the doors wide open for the army of screaming Frogmen. These amphibious monsters stormed through the wooden bridge and penetrated the heart of the fortress. Despite the Falderen's force best attempt to contain the invasion, their defense could not hold up as the Frogmen desecrated the previously impenetrable bastion, tearing down what human considers the hallmark of civilization: buildings.

After the raid on the fortress was well underway, the War Chief signal for one of his scouts to bring something to the party. He made a gesture that implied that it was his rewards to the heroes of the Frog people.

  11. As the frogmen stormed the fortress, Claire scowled in disgust at all the grime coating her. It was a mix of frog innards, plant digestive acid, mud, blood... Nope. Heedless of the fact that this was still technically a siege, Claire raised her hand over her head and conjured a mini waterfall of icy cold water over her head to cleanse herself. "Anyone who wants to get cleaned up, this is a one time offer," she said to the rest of the group, uncaring of the chill mountain breeze.

After taking care of that, and anyone else who happened to take her up on her offer, there was some other small business to go over. Looked like this was not where the prison was. Which was a damn shame. Hopefully the other groups had managed to do their jobs and take control of the other areas of the mountain, so they would know for sure where the prison was. In the meantime, it wasn't a bad idea to rest for a bit. You know.

And while that was going on, the frog chief had some little gifts for them. A few plant-themed pieces of armor, and some sort of pendant. Well, whatever, what really caught Claire's attention was that very nice spear. Ooh. That was certainly a nice little reward.

How to divide this up among them, though?

  12. It seems everyone made it out alright, of course Romulus was the last to exit the entire place as he had to make sure nobody else got left back behind. Romulus found difficulty getting through the space as he was quite tall to begin with so he had to crouch down in order to do so. The worst was behind them and now they have entered an instance in what seemed to be an area beneath the fortress that they were supposed to infiltrate.

“Allow me to help” Romulus said as he put everything he got into pushing up the large stone plate ceiling. He volunteered to do so as he wanted to stand up straight and with his height, the stone plate was flipped over. Of course his party would have to go first, the scout and everyone else made it safely. Now it was just a matter of time of destroying the fortress but as Romulus would have noticed through the gaps of the cobblestone and adobe walls, it was apparent that this place was actually under siege to begin with.

“Mmm…” However he was utterly disappointed that they were not in the detention cell where the prisoners were begin held at. When they sabotaged the defenses and opened the fort doors, the army of frogmen came in and tore down most of the place for them. Regardless he’d look over to the little girl ( @Magi Heart ) who seemed still worried about her friends that were held captive, rather it was disappointing that they were not here to begin with.

“We’ll find them soon… worry not” he grabbed her shoulder to assure her. After everything that has transpired, the most unusual and unexpected thing happened. Romulus was confused as they’d thought they be taken prisoner by these frogs but instead, they were treated like heroes and were given tributes.

He’d stand up tall, surviving their mission but the worse hasn’t come yet. There’s still a war to be won.

  13. Everything was a blur immeadiately following the escape from the tendrils. Between the tight space, forcing the man to hunch over just a tad, the running that he still didnt fully understand, his head being infinitely foggy, and then the army of frog men... the man would have vomitted at that moment if it werent for the fact that he was standing so close to his party members. No, instead anything that felt as though it was coming up was kept behind a scowl and deepset frown. This was not how Zelrius has planned this to turn out for him.

Once the group had exited the dense space, his nerves kickes in, his body shaking just a tad from a mix of the high mountain breeze, his own anxiousness taking over once again, and his insecurities rising once it was clear that the prison wasn't here. For a moment none of the emotions struck him that hard, he had taken a shaky breather on the Cliffside, taking Claire up on her offer and then finding a rock to sit and gaze at the countryside upon.

His shake became a shiver, as thr combination of the freezing water and frigid air began to chill his bones. The man watched as his tempature meter dropped, but cared little for that meter specifically. His dark blue eyes scanned each meter, the red tempature indicator now fitting in nicely with his depleted health, energy, food, water, and his sleep was starting to get there.

His frown widened, hit by a large pang of sadness and inadequacy. The Golden haired man had set out a few days earlier with the intention of starting the task D'Vangelline had put in place for him. The Handkerchief found itself in his hand, muddy and soaking wet, her words echoing in his mind. Make a name for yourself, and use this to come see me in the future. His fist closed as his body was racked with disappointment. This was the first thing Zelrius could really focus on as his Soul Sickness slowly waned: his own inability to really get much done. All you did was die, you useless piece of... the thought ended there as he laid back on the rock, wallowing in self-hatred.

  14. The tunnel had been a harrowing experience, but it looked like everyone had managed to make it, as all those with supportive magics did everything they could to ensure that everyone would get out alive. Even if they didn't know each other before this journey Vina doubted there was anyone who would be happy to see a fellow person get consumed by this plant tunnel, a dreadful death if there was any. The fact that you would just resurrect afterwards wasn't much of a relief, since that just meant you would forever remember the sensation of being swallowed up and devoured... The white Felis shook her head to dismiss the images. A creative mind sometimes had drawbacks. For now, however, they'd all managed to run out of reach of the belly of the beast, and ended up in some dark place where Vina promptly hit her head when she tried to stand up and her head met the stone ceiling.

Rubbing her head Vina stumbled as she was suddenly hugged by @Blake Elgis, the druid Felis disoriented before she quickly hugged Blake back, trying to ignore the fact that they both were covered in disgusting slime and rotten flesh, combining into a stench worse than Vina had ever smelt before. Once outside Vina was smart enough to first clean the area around her mouth, then exhale and inhale deeply in an attempt to get that horrid smell out of her mouth, nose and throat. Of course with the sticky slime she couldn't remove it completely, but at least she could get as much of it out of her face as possible, instead having it cling to her hands... Yuck. She really was going to vomit if they didn't quickly find a way to get rid of this stuff.

Unfortunately before they could get around to cleaning they first had to prepare the way for the frogs, but at least that turned out to not take a lot of time now that the worst was behind them. Even better, Claire was so thoughtful to offer everyone help getting clean, so Vina immediately stepped into the waterfall, shivering when the icy cold water washed over her but a lot more relieved that she could feel all the filth being washed away. It was even worse for felics than for the humans, since they would have to clean their tails... which would take a while even with Claire's help.

It looked like the frogs were having little trouble clearing out the fort now they had a way in, Vina watching them with some discomfort as while she understood the importance she still didn't like watching people and their homes alike get torn apart. Instead she tried to finish cleaning herself up as best as she could under the current circumstances, the cold shower having left her dripping and drenched from head to toe. She noted that @Zelrius looked exhausted and upset, but she decided to not disturb him right now.

  15. Magi braced herself for what was coming. Her hair was nasty and her white coloring stained greenish. This was not very pleasant. Actually Magi was not surprised by it that much. She was tired, emotionally, physically and mentally spent even if her stats said otherwise. The big man @Romulus was worried about her though, and Magi could not let others do that. She gave him a tired smile and reassuring nod as she passed him. She had enough to be stressed over. She did not want others to worry about her now too. Everything was just a bunch of grief and it was at the point where Magi was really struggling to continue. The urge to hit log out was always there but her resolve to stick things out for the others kept her here.

Magi happily took @Claire Thalassa offer to get cleaned up. Undoing her twin tails and relaxing with the cold water. Wendy was not bothered that much from the cold. Boston was not the warmest place after all and she liked winter weather, especially when it snowed! Sigh... gee wiz it would be nice if Terrasphere had a nice snow day sometime. Instead of this stuff.

Eventually they were given loot or things that were supposed to be loot by the frog people. Magi Heart was happy that in the end, at least these froggies can live in peace and be happy now. She just felt unhappy about how it was done and to who. Looking at the loot. Magi really was not sure what here was good magical girl wear. Especially of the love and justice variety. Actually... the thorn stuff looked painful! Even the equipment in this game was unsettling. She hurriedly picked something at random and then began to focus on what really mattered... finding the others. What if the other groups failed or no one found the prison?

Her heart ached as she sat alone. No Alphabet Chocolate's to bring her smiles this time. It probably wouldn't work anyway in the current climate...

Hopefully the end of this could come already so she could feel good about putting this twisted game away forever.

  16. After stinky hugs, trapdoor lifting and a bath, they were finally at the fortress. The heart of the enemy, or at least one of its organs, if we put it in a human body example. After all the icky things she had been through, and all the painful ones, she was thriving to get her hands on the objective. Thing is, it wasn't freaking there! What a pain! They had to go through all of this just so that they would find a empty fortress. Well, not entirely empty. They still had to deal with the gate, and the frogs trying to enter it. So, after they were ready and out of the hole, going out and tearing that gate open was a piece of cake. And talking about cake, where was Blithe again with that cake? She neeeeeded it- Aham, control yourself Blake! You have something to do right now.

Witht the frogs invading, she took the calamity insuing to let herself rest, watching the frogman to do the work, since she was a bit tired herself from running and bursting through the gate. When all was done, she was incredibly happy when the frogs went to them to give them loot. It felt so nice to have her good actions recognized and rewarded, so she gladly accepted the gifts. But since they were a group, they had to divide the goodies. And she opted to get the hand armor, since they looked nice and it was the only armor slot empty for her still.

  17. Compared to the rest of the trip, the getting into the castle and letting the frogs in had been fairly easy. They did all the work for them, storming through and taking the Fort. But to their dismay... There was no prison. Oh well, as soon as they were done, a loot window popped up and Blithe's eyes widened with a tired glee as she let her finger drop to the roll button.

Her hands balled up into fists as she excitedly watched for her roll number, then moving to flick through the loot list. Oh... She really wanted the head piece. How nice would look in her hair, weaved in with her pigtails. Or, she could have the leggings... Those would be helpful, though the headpiece was probably the best idea. She glanced around at her team, wondering if they'd like to trade before speaking up, "Hey, I'm up to swapping if I get something of someone else's interest!~" Hopefully they'd be up for it too.
