  1. Completed: The Pass
    Loot Acquired

    Loot Roll: To see which item you receive, you must each roll a d100 in your reply to this cycle. Luck gets +2 per tier (excluding beginner) and +5 for Mastered added to your loot roll.

    After everyone has rolled, loot will be assigned and the thread will be closed. You are allowed to trade your loot between yourselves, but must do so before the next part of the event begins. Inform me in a PM here or a DM in Discord.

    Roll = Highest

    Loot

    Dwarven Boots - Heavy Feet

    Dirty, but sturdy boots. An odd and ancient script is carved into the soles, but no amount of research offers an answer.

    Upgradable Dwarven Set Piece.

    Set Bonus Dwarven Only

    (3 Pieces) The user cannot be forced to move.
    (5 Pieces) The user cannot be forced to move. Your skin turns to stone and makes you impervious to damage for one turn, but you cannot move.

    Roll = Second

    Loot

    Regulation Buckler - Shield

    This shield is made with function favored over form, one of the Falderen army's standard gear. One of its previous owners has carved "r. was here." A different hand has carved "not anymore" beneath it.

    Roll = Third

    Loot

    Regulation Bracers - Medium Hands

    One of the Falderen army's commonly assigned equipment pieces. Despite signs of use it still smells like new leather and appears to be well polished.

    Roll = Fourth

    Loot

    Regulation Sword - 1H Slash

    Military standard and perfectly average. The bindings on the handle are worn, but the blade is still perfectly sharp.

    Roll = Fifth

    Loot

    Core Powder - Consumable

    The core of a fallen Elemental has been ground down to a fine powder. Many claim brewing it into tea gives those who drink it the strength of one for a day. It actually just causes kidney stones.

    Roll = Sixth

    Loot

    Scout's Hood - Medium Head

    A loose hood meant to be worn with a cloak. It is ragged at the hems, but still provides some protection from the elements and obscures half the wearer's face.

    Roll = Lowest

    Loot

    Small Potion - Consumable

    This potion isn't much to look at, the glass bottle small in hand with a faint pink to the thick fluid inside. Once consumed, the Small Potion heals for 15 HP. An Adept Alchemist could empower it to heal for 30 HP.

    Objectives:
    • Send the fallen scout's letter via his falcon to the Princess to call for the reinforcements that will secure the outpost and the surrounding area.
    • Prepare to join the other scattered groups in taking on the prison.
    • Celebrate not taking a trip to an early grave. Good job, kiddos!
    Rules:
    • Only one reply this cycle per person.
    • Minimum word count of 100.
    • Maximum word count of 500.

  2. After the groups trip over the edge, and meeting up with these individuals, they spouted to them that they wanted to leave this place, and to follow were our group went. It would likely get them better pay. Morna smirked slightly as she thought what she would be getting of this. Yes, a little selfish, but one would always think such things when the idea of loot was passed out.

    Very likely, this was the end of the road for now. Hopefully they could get reinforcements, some rest, and food. Oh the food. However, the promise of gear being inside was very tempting. Honestly, Morna didn't feel as though she were deserving of it. She could barely do any damage, was rude to her allies, and then could barely make up for anything of it.

    She felt a little upset at herself for that, and would likely think that she would be getting last call on anything. Let alone something good. Nodding to the men, she went ahead and passed them by. Rolling up the letter that belonged to the avian messenger, replaced it in it's little carrier, and sent the bird off.

    "Godspeed."

    Turning to her team, a team that she happened to learn quite a bit from, was now bowing her head ever so slightly.

    "We may have not... worked well together earlier, but I wanted to make amends. We actually do fairly well..."

    Not knowing what else to say, that was about as close as you could get her to say sorry. Turning around, she headed inside to see what this loot was about, and to go plop onto a cot or anything better than the rough ground.

  3. Vivian peered at the bowing woman, "I didn't even know you were in our group..." She said moving on by the female (@Morna ) and sauntered off to take a load off her feet. The malefimancer had been walking up that damn slope with everyone else and her feet begged to be rubbed and moisturized. She groaned as she sat down into a chair finally and relaxed looking up at the decrepit stronghold.

    "Hey one of you needs to send that letter to whoever, cause I sure as hell am not getting up again." The woman sat up and stretched her arms over her head as she gave a yawn and rubbed her tired eyes, "Should have got more sleep," she inwardly complained.

    Shifting in her makeshift seat, the woman scrolled over her menu and piece by piece her armor started to fade away until something more comfortable was wrapped around her figure. The busty female leaned over and rubbed her silky left leg with her bare hands getting all the little knots out of the muscles. With a loose fitting tank top, the female bent her elbow and rested her chin in her hand as she blinked a few times only to have her eyes close finally.

    The woman leaned back slightly as she rested her body from the wares and tares of the day, longing for a nice hot bath and a good massage.

  5. Kijin winced as he wrapped another thin layer of bandage around his opposite shoulder, albeit sloppily. The dizzying pain that still lingered at the forefront of his mind made even the smallest of efforts infinitely more laborious. He bit off the last segment and tied it round, securing the strained area so it could properly heal.

    The battle was far from won, however.

    With a grunt, the swordsman sauntered back toward the caravans, and onward toward where the rescue teams would ultimately rendezvous. The others would handle the matter of the Scout's bird, because it was the last thing on his mind at that moment.

  6. “Honestly… Could you be more annoying?”

    Under mumbled breaths the words slipped free from Alric’s mouth as he glared at @Vivian Cruz. It was a shame she hadn't died during the battle, but there wasn't much to be done about that now. He was to mentally and physically exhausted to consider confronting her about something so trivial right now.

    It seemed the message had already been passed along by Morna so now it was just a matter of scavenging this place for anything if value and getting some rest for the next part of their mission.

    “I'll see you guys later then. I'm going to take a look around and see what I can find.” He didn't say it, but he also thought the group would benefit from having some time apart from each other for a while. He certainly felt that way at least as he turned to explore the building.

  7. Relieved that the fight to the end of the road was over, Solaria knew this was far from the end. However, with @Morna taking on the role of the bird handler and sending it back to it's master, she couldn't help a soft smile. While none had been quite a 'team' before, surely they were all closer now. "You're good with birds, aren't you? Do you like animals, Morna?"

    Of course, there was little time for small talk, and she knew this. Instead of spending a long time talking to the woman- though, she'd surely await an answer- Solaria moved on to help any injured around, taking a gander at @Kijin Shihaku and @Alric Stalwart's wounds, knowing they'd taken notable damage and still worrying over them as the alarm bell over her head rang true.

    "@Verity," She called, waving happily to her friend. Her ears twitched as she tried to peak at the others as well- @Lucia Mierz, whom she hoped to know better as well, and @Vivian Cruz, who she'd already known before this, who'd grown stronger since their first encounter by far. "All of us... We all did good work together. From now on...Let's continue to work hard, and survive far past this- and not just us, but the rest as well."

    She wandered off after her little pep talk, heading towards the caravans with a dainty smile and a skip in her step, sure she'd find her way on her own despite being tired out from the battle behind them. The job's not over yet, but we're a step closer to saving the rest...

    How could one not be glad to be closer to their goal?

  8. Well, that was another eventful battle. While he didn't do anything than to use his potions to aid others, he was relieved that they managed to increase their strength without any kind of side effects. Not to mention that there were no signs of casualties other than @Kijin Shihaku's 'gripped' experience with the elemental.

    Unfortunately, that battle didn't leave him unscathed as he quickly fell to his knees as he was starting to feel the effects of the exhaustion from his EN. Guess that even throwing potions around and using Thunder Burst really consume most of his energy without any kind of rest beforehand.

    Though, he didn't stay stressed once he listened to @Solaria's pep talk. He had to admit, other than his short outburst, they really did work together. Not to mention that thanks to her healing spells along with his buff, they were able to survive. "I agree. We won the fight, but never the war. We still got a long way to go before we can complete our mission. Let's use this time to recover and hope that the others were able to complete their missions as well."

    At this point, waiting would be their best option right now. Because he knew that once the other groups are finished with their tasks, the true battle will begin.

  9. Fate Scrambler DM Update

    Perhaps in another place and another time, the core would have shattered under the weight of the collapsing Elemental's body. However, so mutated by the consumption and absorption of its brother, the Greater Elemental's core rests like a hidden gem within the rubble of its chest. Unharmed. Untainted. The surface of it is smooth as volcanic glass, but in the light, it shows hundreds of thread-thin lines of gold running through the heart like capillary veins. It was once a perfectly smooth orb, but now features jagged edges like cracked horns along either side.

    As beautiful as it is, there is a cold emptiness upon touching it. This once housed a powerful spirit, a soul greater than any mortal's, but is now nothing but a chilled void.

    Loot

    Conjoined Core - Consumable

    The core of two Earth Elementals made one, formed of smooth obsidian and threaded through with veins of gold. It is an empty vessel, ripe for the taking.

    @Lucia Mierz
    This post does not refresh cooldowns or start a new cycle.

  10. Lucia watched the others leave, one by one, a sly smile on her face as she waited patiently with Sylvanas at her back. It was only when the others didn't quite seem interested that Lucia perked a brow in amusement. "Newbies.. they all see the shiny loot screens and mash the buttons, and toss away the treasure trove right in front of them." Lucia spoke with a sympathetic expression, though she wouldn't call anyone back, wouldn't urge them to turn around. If they didn't want it who was she to push the presents into their hands? Instead, she turned her gaze back to the crystal with an eager expression. "After all this time-- After coming this far to see the end in sight..." She even felt her eyes getting red and moist, blinking away developing tears, her voice got hoarse as she gestured with a hand.

    "Sylvanas, Mortimer, Papyrus, Sans, help me retrieve it. The souls I promised you will be made here and now-- Finally, I can fulfill my promise of putting you all back together. Retrieve the vessel, it'll house the bulk of your strengths." She eagerly shouted causing fervor to spread through her undead soldiers. Even when being unsummoned only seconds ago, the bulk of Lucia's forces rose back up once more ripping portions of rock away, using weapons and magics to loose the core. Once it was freed, Sylvanas retrieved it, dusting it off with a faint smile, offering it back to Lucia who was still overcome with emotion at the sight of it. With uneasy hands, she accepted the crystal, feeling it's weight, as if it were the burdens and weight of the worries of an entire people. From that crystal as empty as the void, as chilly and frosty from it's emptiness, Lucia could only feel warmth inside.

    Lifting it slowly as the undead looked on with burning fiery gazes of reverence and excitement. She couldn't help fanatical laughter coming from her lips as she started pouring in the souls she'd been collecting all of this time. One after another pushing them into the empty crystal filling it with everything she had. "I'll watch over each of your spirits, within here will be the haven you all can return to. With this, our race will evolve, grow and develop. We are numberless, we are relentless, and now-- Now we are finally limitless." She spoke happily earning the cheers of the skeletons and ghouls around her. The four higher class undead by her side shared in her excitement with quiet and fulfilled expressions. In Lucia's hands, the hope of an undead kingdom, their heart had finally taken shape. "Through me, the voices of the forgotten, the forsaken, the fallen roar as one!"

    ===========================================================

    By the time Lucia caught up with everyone else, her eyes were a little red, the emotions still throbbing through her veins. She'd finally acquired it, her undead had now taken the step to being real entities that didn't need her commands to fight back. They were free, like the Risen they could prosper with her as the focal point. That dream of her's being achieved at a time like this, she almost forgot about the mission and the dangers to the kingdom. Wanting to rush back to her territory to share the news with the civilians, but she was dragged back to the outpost by Sylvanas who now had the will to protest and fight back against her. Dragging Lucia along towards her comrades partially by force, the Wight Queen chuckled with a lecturing tone. "Miss, your allies are waiting for you, while I don't like having to wait either, it is for the good of the kingdom." The undead commented.

    The once undead warrior seemed more vibrant, her once frosty exterior wasn't quite as monotonous, there was more flexibility in her expressions and actions that were incredibly natural and fluid. Pulling Lucia along, sending her to look for items as well, Sylvanas watched like a Dotting adviser or care taker. The Wight who was full of Vitality watched Lucia with care as she perused the items and joined with her allies begrudgingly.

  12. Loot Results

    • If you want to trade loot PM the other person or talk it out in Discord. Inform me of any trades ASAP so I can make sure the mods give the right things to the right people.
    • Even if you have no use for an item, you do not have to trade something if you don't want to. Everyone play nice.
    • If you are unsure about trading an item, know that you can trade it later but it will have to be for an item of the same tier and you will have to pay a tax through the Marketplace.
    • Good job everyone and I hope you had fun!
