@Cain Darlite successfully spoke to the guard through his Muse skills; however, his words only exacerbate the guard's fear, ramping it up by tenfold. As a result, the guard ran faster than before, shouting at the same time as the prisoners on the left side came to life and began banging on the barred door, creating uproarious noise.

@Aalam Abungu tried to attack the guard, but he had already taken off, thus his attack missed entirely.

@Aden found the situation too pressing and stressful to focus on his attempt to pick up the rope Ursa brought with her to the chamber. As a result, he was unable to finish tying the knot while the guard ran further away from the party.

@Ursa attempted to chase the escaping guard to try and take him down. Despite the man's speed, Ursa was somehow able to catch up and knocked him unconscious with a swift blow to the head with her strange weapon.

She was quickly taken aback by the prisoners locked in the cell to her left as they started screaming, cheering, and smack the bar-doors, producing a lot of noise. The entire party can hear the prisoners screaming at Ursa to let them out.

However, she pulled herself together and signaled her teammate to enter the hallway so she can bar the door behind them with her weapon. She also prompted Cain to use some of his spells to calm the prisoners around them.

@Ursa checked her surroundings. She quickly learned that there were no guards around, the two who came into the torture chamber were simply making their patrol around the prison. There was a wooden door on the eastern end of the long and wide corridor and a barred door to the south.

Ursa readied herself for an attack as she went down the hall and checked the eastern door, but it did not budge in the lightest. The same thing happened when she inspected the southern side of the corridor near the barred door. Both seemed to be locked. It was far too dark to see what was behind the barred door.

    the only life I get

That was the difference, wasn’t it? They all wanted to live, while all he wanted was to have fun, even in these dreadful circumstances. Cain simply wanted to enjoy himself, and the idea of an organized prison riot, of being at the head of a group of felons rebelling against the much too small garrison of guards within this place, of causing chaos and disorder to the tune of a marching band, a war cry…oh, it enamored him.

“Have fun running, guys,” the muse said cheerily, extracting a set of keys from the guard that Ursa had knocked out, “I’ll be doing my own thing now, eh? Sorta a little too pissed to just turn tail anyways~”

With those words said, Cain turned to the wild prisoners, to the maniacs that banged their hands against the bars of their cells, the decrepit who still drew enough strength in their fervor and desperation cause the doors to shake. Use it. This anger, this tension. This stress. Use it, consume it!

“You want out, right?!” he cried, striding up and down the row of prisoner cells. “You want freedom? Sunlight? Good food? Heady drinks? Brother, sister, father, mother, daughter, son, friend and lover! You want to see them all once more right? And yet you’re here instead, rotting away under horrid conditions, unable to even catch a glimpse of daylight! Unable to feel anything but your skin growing taut against your bones, while these guards, these fat, cruel, soulless guards mock your plight, rubbing salt on wounds and delighting in the fact that they can inflict whatever hurt and humiliation they desire! Simply because some prissy ignoramus didn’t like you! Because you refused to bend! Because you fought instead of cowered! Rammed instead of ran!”

An animalistic, guttural snarl made it out of Cain’s clenched teeth as he sucked in a breath, the magic of words heightening their emotions, their passions, riling them up to the zenith.

“So join me, my comrades! Find that raging spark once more, that will to fight! Clench your fists, bare your fangs, and let’s kick these dogs to the curb! Tear the top off this prison! Earn your freedom!”

One by one, cells were opened, unlocked, the muse continuing his tirade, his crusade!

    “Let’s fucking riot!”
Actions: Using Proficient Muse to heighten emotions and start a riot with him as the leader, while unlocking prisoner cells with keys retrieved from the guard that was most recently knocked out.

At was assured Cain was an idiot one of the very best he had the pleasure of knowing but an idiot all the same. Even though they had all just agreed to run away and leave the prison never minding that it was the best option given their position. He was still going to try and fight his way out to free the prisoners the man was a little mad and for a second the thought to just knock him out and drag his ass to the exit. It would be so much easier than dealing with him right now. However, if he wanted to make himself the biggest distraction then he just needed to make sure that he was well enough away that it would befit his survival.

“Well good luck with that Cain I hope to see you outside when this is all over, for I will be trying to find a way to get out of these halls. Try not to get everyone killed.”

Cain was riling up the prisoners pushing all the right buttons to increase their rage and tempering the humanity with the beast the dwelled inside each man. This is one of the reasons he could never trust those that use muse it always seemed too natural for them to play with a person emotions. Then didn’t even have to do too much just add a little push here and there and they can have a person eating out their hands. So he left Cain to his will and went to check that barred door. They needed a way out before everything blew up in their faces and one of the doors was their best possible option. The bar would be hard to pick, but it was possible, and that was something to be thankful for at the least. He still needed to figure out what he could use to pick it there had to be a nail or a bit of metal that he would use to pick it.

Action: Tries to find something like a nail to pick the lock on the door to get out

@Cain Darlite successfully riled up the horde of prisoners with his Muse spell. Although they acted like wild beasts at first, they slowly began to chant in unison.

"LET US OUT!!! LET US OUT!!! LET US OUT!!! KILL ALL THE GUARDS!!! KILL ALL THE GUARDS!!! RIOT!!! RIOT!!! RIOT!!!"

Then, they slammed themselves against the door, watching Cain shoving the worn copper key into each of the door and giving them the greatest gift of wall: freedom. The group then snarled as they looked at Cain with a blood-thirsty gaze, yet it was not him they wanted to kill, but those who had imprisoned them. These were nothing like the scrawny dissidents that were traveling with the green team, these were battle-hardened and dangerous criminals who were jailed for all the right reasons.

Before the group moved, the leader of the horde came up to Cain, casting a large shadow over him. He roared with a frightening voice, "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" Once the horde quieted down, he spoke to Cain.

"So I see you're a fellow prisoner, since you freed us, it means we're allies now. Do you have any kind of map of the prison? As much as I want to snap some neck, a prison riot without a plan will just get us all killed." he asked, ignoring the other party members.

@Cain Darlite and @Ursa went off on their own. @Aalam and @Aden will get to continue with this thread as a duo.

    DM Session

Cain: Everyone ready then? Westward ho?

Abel: Alright, good job girlie, now we have got a fucking party AND a crowd with party tools. I know nothing about the prison beyond the wing we just came from. Where should we go from here?

Ursa: I'm good to go. I ain't wastin' anytime. All that I know is that beyond that other door is where we came from and there is a bunch a guards 'dere. Not sure how many, though. We killed one of 'em on the way here, so they should be coming here soon or somethin'

Cain, Abel, Ursa and the eight other prisoners headed through the door from earlier, which led them back to the wing where everything had happened. There was the cell they were kept in and the dead guard in front of it. Abel quickly went over and adorned himself in the bulky armor. That was when Ursa recalled the crude map drawn on the rock tile from earlier.

Ursa: Wait wait, bulkman (Abel). I remembered somethin right now, check'ere. Seems like a map or somethin'. Pretty shitty, but shoulda help.

Abel: Huh? What you talking about?

    Abel followed Ursa.

Ursa pointed to the specific rock tile with her thumb.

Cain sticks around outside the cell, looking and listening to any possible approaching guards

Ursa: Right here, use yer eyes buddy. 'Dis thing here's lookin way too hidden to be some piece ol' art from a rottin' prisoner!

Abel: Uh okay? I guess. I don't know how to read, much less a map.

Abel: Come on, let's just go explore real quick. I don't understand this brainy stuff.(edited)

Ursa: Gotcha. Just don't do too much noise and ya shouldn't go over there - Ursa points to the left of the cell, towards the garrisson (4) - 'das the guards nest. How 'bout we try there?
Ursa pointed to the right, past (3)

Abel: Alright, -grabs one of the smaller prisoners- you go that way, and we're going this way. Pretty boy, you good to go? How about a tune to mask our noise?

Cain: Sounds counterproductive, doesn't it? But sure, I'll oblige.
Cain does his OP Muse stuff, humming as they walked on.

DM: The spell was alright, not OP, it helped the group move around stealthily.
After exploring the wing for a while, the prisoner that was sent came back with some news. Together with the information you learned on your own, you now have a complete knowledge of the wing's layout.

Ursa: So it looks like theres a pretty interestin' room up 'dere, light coming underneath and all. We be goin' there to find out what's in there?

Cain: Dont fancy knocking on garrison doors till we got bigger numbers anyways. Abel, whatcha say before about more prisoners?

Abel: Well, uh, I don't see anyone, here, the cells are empty. What the hell happened here?

Cain: Tch, don't suppose there's more torture chambers or something?

Abel: I don't know, anyways, are we just leaving the garrison door as it is?
Cain attempts to get an idea of what the guards are saying behind the door.
He heard a bunch of sex and fart jokes and overbearingly loud guffaws about a dozen or so.

Cain: Classy. Let's get moving. Dozen of em in there.

Cain: Let sleeping dogs lie and all.

Ursa: Gotcha. Are they worried or somethin'? What didja hear in there?

Cain: No, they were talking about their farts.

Cain: Pretty sure one of them is cheating at a card game as well.

Ursa: The fuck, buddy... Alright, let's check the room with light. I'll check if it's locked or somethin'.

Ursa approached the door with light and tried to hear if any sound came from the inside.
There was not a single peep from within.

    Cain: Locked?

Ursa: Seems like it's either empty or someone's takin' a nap. I'll try to unlock it, but be on yer guard. - she said in a hushed voice and attempted to open or unlock the door.

Cain looks at Abel, before taking a step back to allow the armored man to take the vanguard.

Abel went first, keeping the rest safe while Ursa fiddled with the lock. The door creaked open slowly, revealing what was inside. The party immediately noticed kitchen staff (?) lying naked on the floor, appearing to be knocked out. In the corner of the room was a door that looked rather decrepit.
    Cain chortled.

Cain: of course the rest of them got free.

Ursa: Damned creative way to escape I'd say, ya know.

Abel grabbed a piece of semi-raw meat and began devouring the fuck out of it. YUM.

The rest of the prisoners joined in on the feast.

Prisoner D: Holey shet, this pie is amazing.

Prisoner F is getting drunk by dunking his head into a vat of ale.

Prisoner A too ran to the vat of ale and began slurping.

Cain: Yah bunch fight better drunk or something?

They shook their head. "Haven't eaten in a while..."

Cain took a loaf of bread and ate it.

Stale. It had the texture of soap.

Cain: Let’s get going in five. Whoever tied ‘em up must be further ahead. Join forces and all that crap.

Ursa: I think I'll be fine, ya know... - she picks a very small piece of meat, and get a bite of it.

Ursa grimaced as she chewed on it and gulped it down. Being a picky eater wasn't the best for situations like these.

Cain shrugged, washing the bread down with milk, before beginning to fill his virtual inventory with food items.

Cain sensed a faint magical signature. It was coming from beyond the suspicious-looking door in the corner of the room.

Abel: What's wrong, why the blank stare?
Cain jerks his head towards the door, approaching it. A quick swing reveals...

A narrowed hallway, leading to what seemed like a torture room. They can hear sound of fighting.

Cain looks like he wants to go.

Ursa: Ayye. Time for a good ol' parteh in this stinkin' hole!
@Cain Darlite and @Ursa exited the thread.

  13. A sigh of relief escaped Aden's lips after witnessing how Ursa had succeeded where they all failed by taking down the fleeing guard with her weapon. The blonde girl was truly heaven-sent for their team considering she's prevented the guards from reporting their escape more than once now which allowed them to avoid fighting armed men unprepared.

But as soon as Aden thought their escape would be downhill from here, Cain had decided to act by himself despite his teammates warnings by riling and freeing the prisoners. It seemed like Aden had wrong impression of the bard after all. Whereas he once viewed the guy as a flamboyant champion of heroism and chivalry, all Aden saw now was an anarchic madman who thought little about life. Perhaps Cain viewed this world and its inhabitants in a detached way, thinking of them as only codes and numbers that he could take advantage of and manipulate to his liking.

Without his bow, Aden would be useless in a fight right now. He opted to stay clear of Cain and his group of escapees, and instead help Aalam in his attempts to find another way out of this place. Unfortunately Ursa chose to stick with the bard. It looked like the two archers only had each other to rely on from now.

"I don't want any part of Cain's deranged plans so I'm tagging along with you if you don't mind." said the red haired Archer to his blonde counterpart.

Whilst inspecting the barred door, the arcane archer felt his magical strength returning to him all of a sudden. He could only guess that the other adventurers imprisoned in this place was responsible for this sudden yet welcome development. Now he could defend himself more properly with his Aeromancy.

With investigation mode on Aden saw the game noting that the door's hinge seemed to have been exposed to a lot of rust and as such, a bit loose from the wall it was attached to. It was the structural weakness he had been looking for and despite not having an idea how to take advantage of it at the moment, it was another step forward towards their freedom. Perhaps the they could start banging on the rusted hinges, damaging it enough to come loose. Or perhaps....

Action: Use Investigation Mode to look for a weak spot on the barred door.

@Aalam Abungu and @Aden worked together and were able to break the barred door by removing it from the crude stony frame. This allowed the two to access the room behind it...

The first thing both of them would notice is the awful stench of beast. In one of the cell, they could hear the sound of flies buzzing around. If they produced some kind of light source, they would be able to see 3 cells at the western side holding a lioness and a wolf who seemed rather tired, possibly from the lack of food. You might have remembered that they belong to @Ashiore Evretto and @Kyupin Felnya respectively, otherwise strangers you have met in passing at the camp, before the ambush.

More importantly, the two noticed the cell at the very end of the hall was opened. There was the sound of something chewing flesh? You could hear a low growl emitting from there.

The new hallway was dark; dark as night there was barely any viability at all he could still see that is hand was in front of his face but nothing else. They had left those others behind to create a distraction that would draw the guards away and give them a better chance to get away. However as soon as he enters that smell assaulted his nose, it was the stench of meat that was starting to rot and there was a lot of it, accompanied with the buzzing of flies. Why were they in an area with an abidance of meat and flies? It made no sense until he remembers a skill that he possessed and that in turn brought to mind where they could be. Resting his hand on the side of the bar he could fell that they were barred just like the one he and Aden had broken through but it was too dark to tell what was in those cells, however whatever it was did try to attack him from inside the bars so there was a chance they were friendly.

That would have to be dealt with later, however, cause a sound came from the very end of the hallway a low growl. That was a sound that worried him he knew animals all kinds and that was not a friendly growl, and for the sound to reach all the way down here meant big throat. That was another way of saying prominent jaw. He had to take a chance there was no way of know if those things in the cell were friendly however he was sure that whatever was down the hall was not. Pulling off some of the drier rags he grabbed the set that was the oldest, making a pile on the floor. His weapon was metal, and the bars on the doors were as well. Scarping edges together to try and get enough sparks on the cloth so it would burn, if he could get it there would be light not a lot of light but enough that they could see. Fighting in the dark was a dangerous thing whispering to Aden keeping his voice as low as possible."Be on your guard Aden this will be dangerous."

@Aalam Abungu is successful in making a basic torch, allowing him to see his environment clearer. There was semi-dried blood beneath his feet splattering everywhere, trailing toward the opened cell at the end of the room. Given all of the sound he was making in getting a torch going, the growling escalated as a four-legged beast emerged from the cell, its red eyes glowing in the dark. It was a jackal, likely someone's beast that had somehow escaped and gone berserk. There was a piece of human ear caught between its sharp teeth.

    @Aden 's turn.

It was slow going for a bit to get any light, his rags might have been dry, but he did have anything that he could have used to start and easy flame. However, he did have his iron bar, and the bars on the wall were made of steel. So he used his iron and their steal to make sparks to get a fire going, then he saw it in the low light. Well, it would be correct to hear he heard it. First, the low growl he knew that a sound like that meant. It was a sound that meant fear and anger that was primed to attack. Well, it seemed the gods were pissed at him for some reason. It seemed that that was going to the case until he got out of this prison. Looking at the bars to see what or who was being kept inside there were a few seconds where he thought that it might be more of those Jackals however he knows those animals.

He had seen them before they had been captured, those creatures belonged to players. Players that had come with him to this godforsaken place, damn there was no way that he could leave them caged up like that. More importantly, he would need the help he was tired, but that Jackal was still fresh and looks like it had just eaten. Grabbing his trusty nail, he began to work on the lock that was holding each of the animals, hoping that the jackal had decided to attack him. However, he wasn’t a fool keeping his bar on his side if the jackal did anything at least there would be a chance that he would be able to survive. Starting with the lioness cage if any them would be any help it would be her. Hopefully, she would understand that he was trying to help them escape. If not then his death here would be very painful, well it looked like the beast still had decided to attack just yet and if it was eating he knew that he had a few seconds.

@Aalam Abungu The jackal leapt for your throat, its eyes reddened with rage as though it had returned to the wild. Although you managed to get a few good stabs in, it was not enough to stop the bleeding and raging beast from pushing you down and pinned you against the hard cold floor, it snarled at you and snapped at your face. Fortunately, it missed and instead bit into your shoulder. You can feel its bone-crushing jaw increasing the pressure as the sharp teeth punctured your skin.

  25. After finding the weak spot on the door, it was fortunate enough that both archers didn't need to expend unnecessary amounts of energy to remove the obstacle in their way. The red-haired archer was certain that he had to use one of the powerful Aeromancy spells he was working on to blast the door away but after locating the weak spot, he was glad that he could still keep that ace up his sleeve.

The room at the other side of the bar was.... too dim to see anything actually. Even when Aalam managed to get a fire going, they could still only see a few feet in front of them. However, with their vision impaired it meant they had to rely on their other senses. And unfortunately, Aden could have sworn his hearing went into high gear, along with his heartbeat, when he heard the growling sound emanating from the room. When Aaalm pointed his torch at the source of the sound, they came face to face with a jackal.

Being the book nerd that he is, Aden was more familiar with the jackal-headed Egyptian god of the dead than the actual animal but the carnal look on its eyes were enough warning signs to determine this canine was a dangerous beast. From the looks of it, it had just finished feasting on a sapient meal and it seems to still be starving.

Proving to Aden that Cain wasn't the only madman in the team, Aalam approached some cages at the end of the room hoping to free some of the animal companions the adventurers brought along for this mission as back up. Even with the bar in hand, though, working on the locks of these cages while watching out for the wild beasts indications to attack was extremely difficult and was bound to fail no matter how perceptive one was.

And thus, the canine attacked. The blonde archer was able to land a few hits on the beast and even managed to avoid getting his face bitten off. But alas, the animal was able to sink its jaws on the archer's shoulders.

Using his aeromancy, Aden would attempt cutting the beast to shreds with razor sharp winds, or at the very least push it off his comrade before it could do some serious damage.

@Aden would find himself unable to inflict damage on the jackal due to a bad shot; however, he did manage to knock the nasty jackal off of @Aalam Abungu. It yelped as he ran toward the corner, however, after the strange change in temperament, it looked at the two with its furious red eyes.

Fortunately, the three animals whom @Aalam Abungu freed earlier came out of their cell and took the jackal down, though, the beast dealt massive damage to them, biting into Naixi's neck and slammed her against the wall while it clawed Vulcan, and gnawed off part of the snake's tail. It was only through their combined effort that they were able to take it down.

If either @Aden or @Aalam Abungu had beckoned the friendly beasts to follow them, however, they would not move. Rather, they went back to their cell to wait faithfully for their masters, because they were good boys.

There appears to be no longer any threat within the vicinity, where will you go? What will you do?
