As soon as the Boar split into two, Astor knew that people have either been over-consuming bacon, or over hunting boars, because the elemental beast was bent on making their lives hell. As much as he would have preferred to raise some icy hindrance to protect the group, it would have been meaningless if the boars could simply outmaneuver him to attack his allies. Thus, he set his mind of freezing one of the boar. It might not have dealt any damage, but surely the freezing duration would enough for the damage dealers of the group to dispatch the Warden, right? Astor could only hope.

"I'll freeze a boar for now, try to finish off the Warden before he destroy us, yeah?"

    "Anunga myterio estresen!"

Astor shot a cloud of icy mist at the wild boar. It was somewhat risky, but the spell fortunately hit the beast, jailing it into a block of solid ice.

Flame and stone. Flame and stone. Hammered over and over by those two elements, Cain felt his body begin to crumble even as an armored knight shielded him from the brunt of the assault. He was running on his last legs at this point, and there was no time at all to set up the Grand Magic Evocation that brought him from the brink before. Always lacking in some way, huh? They should have taken their time. Shouldn’t have been so eager to leave. Should have healed up properly, to full health. Should have done so much. But communication wasn’t there, and they had no real plans. Surrechis and that Fox Lady weren’t even present. Aalam and Aden were never found. Naixi was dead. So many others were close to it.

Fifteen percent. That ghostly collection of pixels remained present in his vision, haunting, exhausting. The fatigue, the pain, the horror, the adrenaline, and above all…the double beat of his electronic heart, reminding him that in this world, at the very least…he was still alive. Murmured incantations failed to encapsulate the room, the magical flame of the boars too powerful, too volatile, to quench with words instead.

Another failure. Further frustration. So much time invested, and yet, here he remained, unable to do anything. A grimace. A twisted expression. A degree of fury. Was he still having fun? Yeah, he still was. But was having fun wearing down at the tenacity he once held before then, when his goal was to ‘work hard’ instead of ‘enjoy himself’?

    Thoughts for a different time.

“I’ll leave it to you!” Cain grinned, saluting to Ilusa as he continued to smoulder, smoulder, smoulder.

Kyupin flinches as the flames lick at her body, trying to devour everything. She flashes back to Azog and her eyes seek out @Eleanor Loan instinctively. Her friend is still alive. For now. As healing magic washes over her canine companion, Kyupin shouts out a clear "Thank you!" To repay the favor, she will do her best to end this fight before anybody else can be harmed.

She nocks an arrow and pulls her bow taut, almost snapping the string in half as she lets loose all of her desperation. But that desperation makes her sloppy, and the arrow just barely skims one of the guards.

    Kyupin swallows thickly.

The others fought furiously, though she noticed Ashiore's clever plan quickly turn against them as the Warden seemed capable of overtaking their minds. Shit. Luckily between Cain's healing and Ilusa's efforts to rid them of the flames Gwyn was left standing. The doubled boars still had their play at her, but Astor had trapped one to buy them some time. She doubted it would be enough though. He was too weak still from their imprisonment she'd wager and the Warden seemed entirely unruffled. Was he like the ring-eyed guards before? Was he the source of them?

She didn't have much choice but to soldier on and see it through. Come hell or high water, they'd get out of here if they had to tear through with their teeth and nails alone. The next arrow she pulled was of a thicker set than her precise critical hit arrows, instead featuring a blunter arrowhead. The Force Shot she fired slammed through a guard or two without stopping to find purchase on the Warden beyond.

Closer. Ever closer to victory. Each step, no matter how small.

Then the dome pulsed, like an out of rhythm heart before it exploded. “Aargh-!” A gasp of pain left her and she fell onto her knees breathless as the sharp rock hit her chest, digging into the wound, deepening it, causing fresh blood to spread on the ground before her. The smaller boars rampaged, so fast she did not even see one before it bowled her over, taking away more of her health points, heat spreading through her as it left fire.

Fire was everywhere. It was on everyone, it was burning her and she trembled. Each moment, the fire chipped bit of her health.

Brought to her knees, she glanced at the red bars around her. But no one had erased the fire, so she had to try.

“Whesal elsï.” Her hands gripping the wand trembled as she spoke the mass dispel chant. “Wehsi mensal.” She had to try, past the fire on her, past the screams and gunshots that were crowding in her head. “Wehsï wehso ür a-au r-re.” She stuttered. Again. And she felt how the spell had.. Halved its potency. She saw that the burn debuff was not gone, but its countdown was halved.

Glancing at her health again she grimaced, hoping that the next turn she will survive enough to heal herself.. And others, as so many were in red it was not even amusing. It felt like other supports, other healers were not managing well either.

So much was happening. First, the dome exploded sending bits of rocks everywhere; then two more boars appeared causing an unsettling amount of chaos. Then Ashiore stole the mage's staff only to have it returned almost right away, by one of their teammates no less. Roland grunted in rage; thankful @Ilusa Nakhalee doused the fire from him, unsure of where the other healing effects were precisely coming from. He had to focus, focus on the chaosmancer int he center of the room. "HEY MORON!" he shouted moving towards his small group of men, "Why don't you go ahead and give up, and we'll give you a quick death. You keep this up, and I'll personally see your fed your castration!" As if to hammer in the point Roland slammed into his small guard, swords a blur, as he tried to cut a path forward.

  18. His shoulder was on fire and well that was to be expected from the fact the just a few minutes ago a jackal had bit into it. Well, he hoped the creature wasn’t carrying any disease in the least or this would be one of the shortest prions breaks he was a part of. That meant moving forward, however, and as of right now that was a bit difficult but before he left making a mental note of the location of the cell. Those animals belonged to the others that had been brought along with him, and they would have to be returned. The good news was that he and found his bow and the rest of his gear he might have a shoulder that felt as though it was on fire, but now he could do something to finish this adventure. There was a lovely tree that he was looking forward to resting under, following the sound of what appeared to be an interesting battle. He had to limp forward the events so far had taken a lot out of him, but as he got closer and closer the sound just got louder; it was like hell was just behind the door in front of him.

Gritting teeth and entering the area it seems that he was late to the party, hmm well that was a fuck up on his past. It seemed that at least a part of the expedition had made it to this location. Well, at least he had a shot if nothing else nocking back and arrow. Letting go and watching one of the arrows steak towards the warden hitting the man or beast.

Alpha flinched as rocks shot across the room like dangerous projectiles (which they were) and, before she had enough time to recuperate from the ordeal, the pigs began to rush around and gut at everything in their path. Simply said, this was not a stellar situation for her to be in. She was being tossed around like a ragdoll, punctured by little, sharp pebbles and gored by pig tusks. The last thing she needed was for Abel to go all turncoat on them but that was what happened.

"Hah," she panted, breathing hard as her injuries grew more pronounced by the second. She was scorched, battered, and scratched to the point where she wasn't even sure if she'd make another minute but she had a job to do. Pointedly ignoring the blood that was steadily pooling around the room, she raised her palm over to Roland with a heavy breath and a half-closed eye. A bruise would most certainly form there sooner or later.

"You go get 'em," she grinned as the purple-haired man blasted the enemies down with crude insults. He was merely pronouncing what they were all feeling in this moment, most likely. "Just don't, urgh, get too hurt there, Rudolf. You're driving me like a donkey or something over here!"

Fire Boar B rampaged through the group yet again, though, it was ineffective in dealing much damage if at all. Although the fire spread, it fortunately did not stack. -1HP

After the Warden's health dropped below 33% the ring in his eyes turned red as he channeled his anger toward @Roland Rutledge, opening his attack with a Petrification ray aimed solely at him. The stony ornament on the top of his staff morphed into an eye again as a flash of light shot toward the tank. Fortunately, he was able to avoid looking at it in the nick of time. Although his spell failed, the Warden did not waste time in summoning a massive boulder from the sky, which would have dealt double damage to Roland had he been affected by petrification. -34 HP

Finally, the Warden took a deep gulp of breath and turned his staff onto the Phoenix side, slamming his staff into the ground as a massive wave of fire radiate outward. The burst of hot air was the precursor to burning balls of flame that started raining from the sky.

Although Corvella tried to protect as many people as she could, she could only protect @Ilusa Nakhalee and @Kyupin Felnya at the risk of her own life. Fortunately, she was able to have her second wind.

Although Abel tried to resist control, the Warden's power over him proved to be far too strong, as such, he unwillingly leaped at Roland with his sword, though only able to get in a few shallow cuts. -6 HP

Astor gritted his teeth and braced for the onslaught of the Fire Storm that crushed the party into a fine paste had it not been for the some fate-changing event that happened outside of Astor's comprehension. He shouted to @Ilusa Nakhalee, forgetting that his mind had supposedly shut-down after the whole prison event. He may have cared for her a lot more than he let on...

"Oi, get down, don't get out from under @Corvella's shield or you're going to die."

After catching on fire from one of the ball of flame striking him directly, Astor groaned painfully. It was fortunate that he enabled the simulated pain option a while back, allowing himself to avoid feeling the painful sensation of being burnt.

Once the assault was done and over with, he pieced himself together and quickly cast rain again, hoping it would be enough to stop everyone who was on fire.

  28. Everything was agony and hell, a horrid burst of stone and flame pummeling them all. Tossed by the fiery tornado, Cain crashed into an adjacent wall, only barely grazing past the stampeding hooves of an infernal boar. His vision was fading, his health impossibly low, but as he pushed himself upwards, he realized it.

His own plight, his own pain, his own situation meant nothing compared to the devastation all around. So many were collapsed, and Roland, the one that took the brunt of the ring eyed man’s rage, was only barely standing, a collection of blood, burn, and broken bones. Healing. He had to heal! Clutching onto his flagpole to support his fatigued frame, Cain’s eyes danced about rapidly, trying to ascertain who to heal, who to buff, who to s-

    She wasn’t moving.

Nothing but a burnt husk of an individual, Ursa remained on the ground as others stood, still as death, her golden hair burning away. The last cinders of a single life. A life that would be lost utterly if nothing was done. This was what he sacrificed Naixi for. This was the future that he foresaw, mere moments ago. So this…

“…is what I’ll have to do.”

The song of a past adventure rang through the air, in the magical script that mages intrinsically recalled. A story about two individuals diving into the darkest depths, falling, faltering, fighting, fleeing as they uncovered horrors that they could never have imagined. As they uncovered horrors that they surpassed. No one was going to die here. They were both going to survive and climb out, through the end of the tunnel into the blessed starscape of the heavens.

“C’mon, Ursa, you’ve got so much more to live for. To fight for.”

His face twisted, a mixture of misdirected anger and grief.

Things didn't look good. The Warden didn't look good either, but a lot of them here were in terrible shape. They had to end this. Now.

Ashiore hadn't used her thorny vine spell since she inadvertently killed the informant that one time in Norforva. She had felt terrified of using it ever since, still recalling the snap of the man's neck.

She didn't have any such compunctions now.

Unfortunately, given her rather shaky condition at the moment, the thorny vine hit the wall next to the warden's head.
