    Tunnel Clearing

    Getting to the underground tunnels beneath Dormont was an effortless task for the squad who was supposed to go on a mission to clear it. Since Dormont's reconstruction, there were special stairwells made specifically for people to quickly reach the vast network the Blood Wurms and its brood have been forming for ages. With architect's effort to make it safer for everyone who wished to explore the depths, they have expanded the foundation and supportive infrastructure of the tunnel network, minimizing chances of cave-ins by tenfold.

    When you arrived at the meeting place, you are welcomed by the sight of D'vangelline together with your team. The Assassination squad was nowhere in sight, however, which raised a few questions. When the Princess saw you, she waved you over and gave you a chance to see and greet the rest of the group while she waited for the last of your peers to show up. At a certain point in time, D'vangelline turned toward your group and began the mission briefing.

    “I had confirm with King Astor earlier about the status of these tunnels, and it seemed that the Blood Wurms and its spawns have been wiped out for some time, so I don't expect us to encounter anything dangerous on the way into Falderen. For the first half of the journey, I will be relying on this scout to help us navigate to where these tunnels connect to the Stokbon sewers. There, I will take over and guide you to the High Keep where my father is.

    Since I must conserve my energy to lead the assassination group when they are inside the keep, I must apologize beforehand for not being able to help. It shames me as a warrior to stay passive in such a way, but I must fulfill my duty as the guide in Stokbon, I hope you understand and forgive my inadequacy.

    Also, as much as I would like to ask my men to accompany us on this journey, they are best on the open battlefield, so I will lead everyone here by myself. Also, if you do not see the Assassination group, worry not, they will follow somewhat far behind us so they can conserve their energy for their mission.

    Well, then, please take sometime and refresh yourself because we'll head out briefly here."



    The Astorean scout, whom Astor had hired, led the Tunnel Clearing team through the complex network of tunnels to get to Falderen. Without his expertise, you would be left wandering in this hellish labyrinth until you die from thirst. Though, it amazed even him that the tunnels led them all the way to Stokbon's sewers. The journey was long and uneventful; not a single wurm was seen amid traveling, which was a blessing, since time was something you were short on.

    When the scouts confirmed that your group had reached the sewers, you were immediately overwhelmed by the rancid stench carried by a strong breeze down the tunnel, squeezing gag reflex and stinging eyes unaccustomed to the vile and toxic air...

    D'vangelline immediately retrieved a big cloth from her bag and wrapped it around her mouth as she signaled the group to push through their disgust and move forward.

    “I'll take over as the guide now while the scout go back and pick up the Assassination group, please try to keep up with me and deal with any danger in the way. It's been a few years since I have explored this passage way, so it is without a doubt that it might have become much more dangerous while I've been away...

    If you would like a quick break, we can stop, but not for a second longer. The air here is toxic so it's not good to stay here for too long. Everyone ready? Let's go."

    STOKBON SEWERS: REDUX

    Dungeon Theme

    The team had made it back to the sewers. They had taken a long journey through the underground tunnels that expand throughout the Falderen and Astorea regions. The information given by the Falderen Crown Princess, D'vangelline proved to be legitimate. The gate that was impassable long ago for a early group of sewer explorers, was now opened. Stepping into the area once identified by the game as 'Stokbon Sewers Depths', anyone from that earlier party would see that the lever was still broken. How the gate was opened was unknown but the lack of a obstruction was likely appreciated.

    Your group would suddenly hear a voice nearby. A incredibly happy and enthusiastic one that many players would know from the Terrasphere commercial if nowhere else. Even in this cesspit of sludge, Trinity comes up to your party and beams at you all. Strangely, the Princess would only be able to feel that something strange was in the area but could not place exactly what it was. The presence of Trinity was only fully realized by the players.

    "Omg! Heeeeya! Woah woah woah! For the sake of me not doing a outdated meme! Let me just say you guys are doing incredible! Just look at you all! Geared up and ready to cut your way to your ultimate foe! I as the mascot could not share just how good this makes me feel kay? So I decided to come and help you! You made it pretty far and the kingdom of Astorea is going to be mega awesome for sure! But, the challenge ahead is without a doubt the hardest yet!"

    Trinity extends her hand to the party and a small gem materializes in her palm. In it is a clear blue and emits a cool yet dim light.

    "This is something I think heroic players like you should have. A HP um.. eh wait no hahahaha. It was called something else. Anyway it started with L for sure I think. I'll check the data later and tell you guys kay? "

    She cocks her head to the side and smiles with her eyes closed. Then reopening them she gestures urgently for them to take it.

    "Take it guys. A gift from your mascot who absolutely loves you guys! It will heal your entire team for 50% Health and Energy and even cure your status! Isn't that just the bestest? Think of it like a camp stone kinda, kay? It'll make you feel great, in your soul too! Oh... but remember that it will lose all it's power if you leave the sewer. So use it before then kay?"

    After giving the group the crystal. Trinity fist pumped.

    "Time for the final struggle for the players to keep their new home! W O O T as you say in text speak! Good luck!"

    Trinity faded into a mass of light blue sparkles...

    The party was now left once again to their own devices here in the sewers. This place was the last area needed to pave the way for the assassination team . Time to begin....

    You may roll every 4 hours and reply within those 4 hours. DM will update roughly every 4 hours.

    Your team is now in a small room with the old broken lever, a box that once contained a item possibly but no longer, and a tunnel that led to a open gate. Along the side of the tunnel is another path across from that gate, and a small room with four levers further down the tunnel. Two of which were flipped already. According to your map the correct choice is the open gateway so your group should hurry on instead of wandering around a sewer too long!

    Astorea only has so much time left...



    You can only do one of these actions per post. You can flavor it however you want, but you must use the correct template depending on your action.

    Advance & Clear: You will roll to accomplish the DC to reach the Falderen Castle Basement. While this dungeon was already cleared some time ago. It is still a dangerous place with monsters and toxic hazards.Fight and dodge your way to the castle making sure to leave as little danger behind you as possible!

    Giving the party around her a small nod, she took the first few bold steps forwards. As the strongest tank on the team, it was her duty to take the first few hits and assaults of whatever this wretched dungeon could bring. Most dungeons she had been in were actually kinda nice, if a bit gloomy. This one was just awful, the smell was horrendous and she man were the sewers a typical place to host a dungeon. Regardless, she could definitely feel a sense of urgency and danger so that was good, it would keep her on her toes.

    Of course, the first that happened upon her taking point was an errant, sneaky and toxic slime dropping upon her head. Well, that was a great start to things. Pointedly keeping her mouth shut while internally screaming/grumbling about how her hat would be ruined, she managed to shake it off before drawing a card.

    Well, that would make things easier. As a glowing figure peeled itself off her back like painting coming to life, she thought of a way to deal with the slime. Deciding to keep things simple for now, she kicked up some stray debris and shaped it to be a touch deadlier before flinging the projectile at the slime. The figure mirrored her actions, empowering the shot, before it dissapitated. Unfortunately for Velka, her time with a slime for a hat had left its mark and she began to feel a bit woozy, legs slightly swaying.

    Ah, that rancid stench, wasn’t that a familiar one? While others gagged, the horrid stench was almost too familiar to Cain. Just like the quagmire of blood and guts and mud within Dormont’s underground. Familiar. A reminder that he had obligations past this war as well. Tasks to complete. Demonic beasts to slay. A whole host of tasks to complete. The Blood Wyrm. The Crimson Rose. This Mad King, this fuckwad responsible for the chain of tragedies that lead to Ursa’s death, was nothing put a fucking detour in the grand legend that was his own tale, and there was no way in hell he wasn’t going to be able to clear this dungeon for the assassination team to finish up!

    A confident grin etched itself into his features as the midnight-haired muse raised the Ivory Reminiscence upwards, the brilliance of moonlight casting away the moist dankness of the sewer tunnels. It was nothing but a reflection of true sunlight, but as his palms ran over beautiful floral etchings, Cain found his voice again, breaking past the grief that had clouded over him so strongly. They were going to make this fast. They were going to end the war in a single day.

    “C’mon, friends, comrades, allied strangers! This traitor King has sacrificed his own daughter to ensnare us, had made deals with god knows how many demons, had tried his very best to cripple us before commence his attack, and yet, here we are, still standing!”

    The bitterness and the self-loathing almost threatened to overwhelm him, and Cain violently bite down on that weakness.

    “This isn’t just a counterattack. This isn’t just a retaliation. This is our fucking funeral procession! For all the agony, all the pain, all the humiliation, all the dead!”

    The ivory flagpole, crafted of the horn of a beast of purity, thrummed as he slammed it into the ground, a red aura blazing out of him, seething out of wounds that had not yet closed. A scarlet banner, woven of magical ether, burst out of the tip, symbolic representations of the dead and fallen, the wounded and the scarred all embroidered within it.

    It was all too easy for him to take the first steps, charging through the foreboding tunnels.

    This was the sort of party she'd like, huh?

  12. _____Kaede felt she owned the other players this much after her failure at the rescue mission. Despite such a short time from that incident and now she had forced her body to push great lengths and now she was here ready to make a difference this time. Sure some of her muscles still stung slightly and she was not exactly awake for most of the trip across the tunnels but she was a decent sleep walker and kept up with the sounds of the other’s feet just fine with her slightly better hearing thanks to her race choice. Hearing the hyper voice of Trinity did cause Kade to open her eyes and yawn lightly revealing herself to have been sleepwalking if others had not noticed so far.

    _____Getting the gist of everything that had happen Kaede stretched her arms upward and moved away from Trinity, her trust in others not lost yet even if the girl was adorable for someone her age. Had Kaede been her old self she might have asked the girl her age, or the princess for a date but after turning as crimson as her hair she simply tried to focus on what the job was at the current time. Moving to stretch downward to her toes, then to each side calmly before jumping in place, a small smile on her face as she tried to restart her engines and push herself again.

    ”So, If we can do this without the help of back up team… know what, nevermind that ha-ha…”

    _____Kaede would bow to the princess before turning to the rest of the group and slowly stopping her hyper actions. Right hand slowly resting on her hilt as her expression changed and she zeroed her focus on the job at hand, Rogue mastery initially clicking gears as she seemed to lose her overall presence among the group and moved in silence. Her linen cowl used as a poor face mask to block the smell, and since it did not suit her long hair having it over her mouth felt like an improvement. She was ready to make a difference this time and nobody was going to stop her from that.

    "Ugggghhh" Megan moaned as the began to trek through the disgusting sewer. This little adventure had started promising enough when the beautiful blonde lady had approached them. She projected an aura of pure authority, of which, Megan hoped to emulate one day. So it was only natural for her to sit and stare in awe as she spoke, and even though she listened to every word she couldn't but simply be caught up in the majesty. "Do you think..." Megan whispered to @Kaede Hoshi, "She's a princess!?" The thought had been tumbling around in her mind during the entire monologue causing Megan to forget pretty much everything she had said. It didn't seem to matter though as she grabbed her bag and pushed forward.

    The group had taken only a few steps after that before another beautiful girl appeared! "Wooooww" Megan said as she looked at her avatar, "Is that like cosplay?" The cheery idol seemed to ignore her comments as she burst into a monologue of her own. Megan had a hard time listening to her as she tried to determine what character she was dressed up as. Of course, she was unable too before Trinity poofed leaving behind a small(?) crystal. Without so much of a second thought, Megan moved forward scooping it into her hand, staring at it with wide eyes as she continued to shuffle forward. "So much magiiiiiic~" She said as if in response to Cain's ramblings.

    It wasn't the first time Solaria had met Trinity. No, she'd gone to train with her before this brawl was about to happen, but to her surprise, Trinity didn't seem to react to her existence. In fact, it spooked her that she wasn't noticed. Perhaps, if she was lucky, that meant her horrid failure wouldn't come to light just yet.... Even if it made it come to mind.

    A bit of irritation took her mind by storm, but it wasn't long before a number of small fry came at once, surrounding her when she'd gotten too far ahead of the group. "Crap..." She grumbled, before using a swift blow, taking out Duo and spinning herself, slicing the creatures as they came to surround her with a round-about method.

    With a sigh of relief, she found herself a bit disoriented. "I span too fast... C-Can I get some help here, Cain? I want to be able to use your buff well but..." She wobbled towards a cavern wall, resting her head for a second. "Damn... There weren't that many... I rushed in too much again..."

  21. Lucia couldn't help frowning deeply at the toxic sewers around them, it certainly wasn't a place she enjoyed. The rot of zombies and the like was familiar, she dealt with rot on a regular basis, but this was different, viral and disease ridden, at least her own rot was fresh and clean, scarring but not tainting in such a harsh and unreasonable way. While half of her thoughts were self praise, the other half was frustration, truly a sewer system might be the best choice when it came to discretion but she felt it would cause more problems later on. "Will the guards not be alerted from the stench alone in the future? Perhaps the assassination group should have brought some tools to disperse the toxic and foul odors and fumes as well, this is a poorly prepared venture, what were they thinking..." She couldn't help complaining. Having someone vent the sewers or tunnels would have made all the difference in her mind.

    Perhaps it wasn't too late though, as she trudged forward, her small collection of skeletons and undead supporting her as always. Their formation a little tighter in such a cramped space, she didn't call the full army of knights but just enough to keep her safe as they proceeded. The monsters were dealt with by Sylvanas at the front, cutting them down one by one, but Lucia wasn't immune to the spray or fumes. Every once in a while she'd feel an unsettling splash, a sudden burn, a sickening feeling. It was a status effect she was familiar with. As a Malefimancer, poison was a base part of the repertoire even if she didn't invest thoroughly in it. Covering her mouth with a cloth, it did little to support her but she trudged along anyway at least glad her summons were immune to this sort of plague.

    The party was making good progress. As they advanced further on, they eventually were instructed to investigate a area of the sewer tunnel wall. After a short time they were able to hit a hidden switch that caused the wall to move! Revealing the path that very few knew of. Soon they would reach their destination...

    However as if on cue to ruin the positive moment. A blast of poisonous fog came from the long unexplored path. The party felt the burning of the fog on their skin and quickly realized they were all poisoned!

    Entire party receives 25 Damage and Poison Status. Armor Reductions allowed.​

    Splish splash and pitter patter.

    He felt it once again, his body becoming stained by the toxic liquid waste that had fermented within the sewers for untold decades, flushed out only occasionally by the blasting of heavy rain up above, but Cain was past the point of being disgusted at it. He had to push. They had to push on, advance, clear the way and serve as an almighty vanguard that would deliver the true stars of the night onto the stage. Astorea’s Elite, who were ready to storm the castle of the Terrasphere’s most powerful king only half a day after being tormented within that very king’s prison.

    He couldn’t do that himself. Even with his newfound strength, Cain was still lacking in much too many ways. The midnight haired muse had witnessed the difference in power before, after all. Ilusa had consistently succeeded where he had failed, and there was never truly a point where his own magic surpassed hers. As the backbone of every party, that moonlight haired Felis was superior in every way, wasn’t she?

    A goal to aspire to. A target to surpass. The muse clutched his flagpole more tightly as he sang, danced, and swung, the scarlet banner an ethereal ribbon that was beautiful even in the dirtiest of tunnels. A song of strength, a song of purpose, a song that drove them even further past their limits. Even as the poisonous fog surged all around the party, Cain’s voice continued to ring brightly through the haze. This wasn’t some soothing remedy to tell everyone that things would be ok. This was a war chant, a march that demanded people to fight past this barely noticeable pain and to press their advantage.

    “Forward! Forward! Forward! With Trinity’s Crystallized Miracle as our backup and the magical support of an excess of four mages, there’s nothing to fear within this destitute tunnel. Even the Avatar of Death herself has sided with us today, so let US ADVANCE!

    Demon howls reverberated in the undertones of Cain’s voice as black, greedy flames ignited over the weapons wielded by Lucia’s minions, granting them both the strength of monsters and the terror of aberrations.

  28. Lucia's frown deepened at the toxic fog, even with a cloth in her face it didn't protect her much from the burning of the poison. Fortunately it couldn't seep any deeper into her bones and marrow, it wasn't that tough of an ailment it seemed. She dealt with it rather well, trying to protect her face and features as it harmed her body and frame. Once more she pressed forward, gesturing with a hand trying to get Sylvanas's attention. "Rip that one down from the walls, if it catches the assassin team we're in trouble." She spoke urging the undead to pile up and begin ripping the exposed trap down and destroy it. It wasn't a complex process, it didn't need to be salvaged, destroying a mechanism like a trap wasn't too hard once located. Unfortunately it was hastily done, still causing Lucia more acid burns, but she persevered.

    In the end she couldn't help chuckle though, an avatar of death suited her, who was closer to the goddess then she was? Unfortunately calling Trinity's gift a miracle made her frown, she kept it among her things in her bag, but in truth, it was something she didn't trust completely. Trinity was someone Lucia had been suspicious of from the start, initially because she wanted attention and the mascot girl seemed intent on keeping that for herself, but the second was purely because she seemed so 'unknown' those types of characters always were the secret bosses or more dangerous elements. The unknown ones were threatening purely by existing. With the buff, she channeled more strength into the undead, letting them rip through traps more efficiently as they continued forawrd.

    _____Kaede was most certainly NOT a fan of getting blasted with a wave of poison gas. Hands moving to her eyes having had them open during the vile blast causing her to stumbled backwards almost losing her footing into some less pleasant parts of the sewer area. Her Rogue allowing her a quick recover as only her right foot was plunged into the biohazard of humans digestive track. Slowly pulling her foot free and shaking it lightly over the small lip that led into the draining area as she could only growl loudly.

    ”When this war is over, I am SO taking a fucking shower before bed!”

    _____Kicking her leg one good time for added measure before trusting it enough to walk with, the satisfying squish sound from her sandals made her shake, her anger showing on her face as she tensed up and began growling loudly under her own breath. She was going to make sure to ask the princess to maybe try a different type of septic system later but for now her job was still clear before her. Ears slightly moving up as she heard sloshing around a corner and seeped her way into the shadows to check it out.

    _____What she found was not exactly fun for her, moving with heads poking from the sewage was a small group of giant roaches, not exactly a fun thing to see as she cringed slightly before moving closer, hand slowly lifting her sword from her side and keeping it from the light to avoid giving herself away. Looming behind the largest roach she could only assume the most danger, and the one she knew she hated the most before slamming the tip into the head.

    _____The quick motion of her blade drawing out before slashing the heads from the remain roaches. Her lunch almost spilling back out as she watched the heads twitch and flow with the current before she could break her focus and rush to return to the group. The sound of the slush in her sandal giving her away to them as her sneak needed time to reset.

    The sewers were even worse of a place than she thought. If smells could kill, well, she was pretty sure that was happening right now. Drawing a card, it appeared to be a Six of Diamonds. That was good enough for her to not discard. It was time to get rid of this Confused state, it would be too risky to do anything else. A small incantation and brilliant energy started to pool around her two hands.

    After the blaze had faded, Claymore made of softly glowing energy was all that was left in her hands. Without a second thought, she plunged it into her own chest and instantly felt a lot of the fog in her mind disappear. Illumancy really was a gem when it came to this sort of thing. She could also see that Solaria, one of her party members, also had the debuff so... She took a few steps over and just as her newly formed Malady Murderer was about to fall apart, she swung at Solaria as if to decapitate her. The blade let out a cleansing pulse as it made contact, removing one of the debuffs. That took care of the whole Confusion epidemic. Poison was still an issue but, eh, they had plenty enough health at the moment.

    Zelrius followed the team one step at a time. He was determined to help the Princess directly in whatever she needed. Though to be quite honest, he had wished he could have gone with the assassination team instead, not really liking the fact that this current team's goal felt more like grunt work than anything. Though, after some moping and being ever so salty about it, the golden haired man had decided that helping was helping was helping in anyway, and that the task was on regardless. So, he had set out and rendezvous with the Tunnel Clearing team earlier that day, now trailing with them through the Stokbon sewers.

    The man was reminded of his brief time in these Sewers with Kijin, though that small adventure wasn't enough to add to his experience or idea of how the area operated at all, especially since it seemed they were in a whole 'nother section of the place than he and his Bloodsworn friend were not too long ago. He commented in his mind how that was actually quite unfortunate, disappointed that his own previous adventures weren't quite helping out here.

    So, followed the Golden haired man did, Slashing his Outlaw's Cutlass in his left hand with refined movements. It had been a long time coming since the man joined the game and had a hard time even killing Boars, and now he felt skilled with a blade in hand, ever so direct and precise with each swing, having a decreasing amount of mistakes sprinkled into his movements. Though that all being said, something about his party was off...

    That thought was broken by a spirt of poison at their direction, immediately causing the man to tightly close his eyes and back up, drowning out the commotion that followed such an event. After a brief moment of Recovery, and at the song of @Cain Darlite (which sounded more like an order to be honest) Zelrius moved forth once again, blade in either hand.
