The Capital was a chaotic place, many family with children dillydally and refused to leave their home until the last minute, leading to chaos in the streets. Many guards have their hands full with the defense preparation that there was a lack of time and manpower to help keep order around the city.

The city was in a state of complete disarray, garbage were left in the street, along with items dropped from panicked exodus. Houses remained dark and vacant. There were hardly many people left in the street, but those who were still around were definitely a source of troubles.

However, that's where you come in. Below is a list of quests you may follow to and support the capital.

War was heartbreaking enough when one knew her lover was in the frontlines, ready to shed her life to clear the tunnels for an assassination no one should have needed to take part in. She'd spent some time preparing within the confines of the city's walls with tears in her eyes, when a family found her and asked if she'd lost someone too.

To her surprise, they'd lost their young child- a nine-year-old boy, not one known to run away or have tendencies to do so. "I'll help you find him," She'd offered quickly. They agreed to give her a settlement, but she refused any reward. "I couldn't help the one I love... But I can help find the one you do."

With a grin, she wandered off to look around the guarded city. Surely, the young boy would return... And if he didn't the scent of flowers she sang into blooming would help lure him, wouldn't they?

img The war had begun. It was really starting to feel like whatever started this chain of events was a really bad idea... actually nevermind, it must have been a bad idea. Magi Heart had decided to stall her search for the statue of the star maiden. Just a bit more. She wanted to leave this horrible game behind forever but she needed to try and see this through to the end. However, she had no desire to fight anymore. Not for any kingdom or bunch of mean uncaring people. People died... and the answer? To kill more! It was unacceptable to Magi and she refused to be a part of it anymore. It hurt too much.

Instead, Magi Heart spent the time doing her best to assist those in the city. Everyone was so scared... this was the exact opposite of how it all should be! Good...good was losing. Love and justice were losing. Magi used all her strength to keep her face as confident and cheerful as she could. A heroine was someone who could pull through anything after all.

The magical girl then was approached by a woman who was streaming tears from her eyes. They had lost their son? Magi gave the woman the Magi salute and made it her mission to find him! This was her task... she at least could do this much.

With the incoming war looming towards the city, everyone was preparing for the worst. Yet for Jace Vale, he was aware of some several points about his role. First off, he wasn't very strong. Just joining the tunnel clearing and assassination may impede the others instead of helping them due to his poor equipment and masteries so far. Even he doubted he can't able to fight on the frontlines due to his current levels.

Because of this, he knew he could try the next best thing, which was to aid the army at the barracks. As he had the Magecrafting mastery, he was able to use this to fix the mage's equipment so they can able to forge on. He even shouted to everyone at the barracks just as he finished one of them. "Alright! To any mages and sorcerers who need their robes and tools mended, just turned to me! I'll try to do everything to get it fix before you can return to the frontlines!"

It wasn't much, but he knew that he was contributing to the war just by tending to their Magical Tools and light armor. Besides, he donated some of his produced tools to them and he knew it wasn't enough to help them out. But as long they can succeed, he wouldn't have any regrets to his current role.

So, this was that Dormont place that she'd been led to. It didn't look very nice, if she was being honest. Streets full of rubbish, darkened houses, fearful people in the streets... Frowning, Valdrada tried to make her way through the city, looking for something to do. There was hardly anyone around!

    "-you hear me?!"

Oh, would you look at that. Just as she was complaining about nobody being around, there goes an angry voice shouting just like that. Her cat ears twitching, she walked deeper into the central area of the city to try and find the source of the yelling.

    "Dad-"

    "I'm not leaving her behind!"

Oh... There was a man, and an older man arguing with each other. In front of a fancy-looking house, the white-haired older man was standing next to a group of pedestals that were bearing statues and trinkets, while the younger man stood by a swinging gate. Both of them looked angry, and the older man had tears in his eyes. Ooh boy, this looked like an upsetting and personal situation. Maybe she'd better... go...

Valdrada must have made a sound when she approached them, because both of them instantly spun around to stare at her. Her ears flattened against her hair at the sudden unexpected attention.

    "Um... hi...?"

Vina wasn't familiar with war, given the fact that in real life a large majority of the western civilization was quite peaceful, but here she had the opportunity to confirm her suspicions about what war would be like: very, very unpleasant. The enemy army hadn't even arrived yet, hadn't even given any indication of being close, yet one could already tell that the only result of this war was that it brought chaos, panic, fear, misery and pain. After the rescue groups had returned to the capital Vina had decided to try her best to help here as well. She was no experienced fighter or powerful mage, but she could heal people and use plants in various ways, and if nothing else maybe she'd be able to help out by calming people with some entertainment.

However the capital of Astorea was most definitely in need of more than just some entertainment. Chaos, panic, everything was present as Vina carefully made her way through the city, her ears and tail both low as she was wary and disturbed. She wanted to help the best she could, but she wasn't sure where to start... As it was, stepping in without having a clear idea of what to do would just make matters worse. The people were trying to evacuate all at the same time, with no clear organization or discipline to their actions. The soldiers were trying their best, but they were trained for combat and beyond that there was the issue that there just were too many people present, too many different things to keep an eye on.

Vina wanted to help, but she didn't think she could do a better job sorting people out that the soldiers. There was too much noise (making her ears go flat against her head as she tried to weaken the sounds a bit) and the entire thing was a giant mess. She could go and try to calm down people who were being more panicky and emotional than others... She halted when she heard something about dangerous leeches in the tunnels underneath the keep.

Frowning the Felis immediately headed towards the tunnels. She would have a better chance helping out there where at least her objective would be clear, namely to keep the people save, heal anyone who got wounded or infected, and figure out how to stop the leeches from coming back.

Hearing the familiar cries of a woman that had asked her for help not long after she'd left to start doing just that, Harveste wandered to the vaguely familiar stranger, @Magi Heart, as she was saluting the woman in some unusual but rather cute method. Her swift motions surprised her considering the chaos surrounding her as she smiled, faintly.

"Hey, it's been a while! Do you remember me? We met at the hot springs after that volcano battle, even if it was only briefly. Are you looking for the lost little boy, too? If we work together, we'll have a lot more luck, I bet. What do you say? Will you work with me?"

Despite his Trained level in his Magecrafting, Jace was quickly met with a barrage of mages carrying in some broken tools and ripped clothing as a result of almost dying from the fight outside the walls. Unfortunately, that means he had to work all of them as he tried to multitask every tool and armor he can take with his current tools. From Focus items, Rods, Staves, Grimoires, and Trinkets to robes and hoods, he worked tirelessly to mend them as best in his current ability.

Unfortunately, the prodigy has some limits as he was almost stressed out from the many demands around him. "Everyone, please calm down! I'm trying my best to fix your tools, but right now, I can only work on some few tools in an hour or so. Just try to be patient and I promise to take care of them immediantly!"

Mending tools did take some time to let him finish without any errors and even with UI help, he was unable to complete them in a minute due to the number of orders. It was times like this that he needed some (more) extra hand around here. Regardless, he continued to work as he tried to make sure most of them are ready to come back to the frontlines.

Valdrada couldn't see where she was going.

Even with making her in-game character taller than she normally was--not that she had a problem with her height or anything!!!--she still couldn't see a thing over the pile of statuettes that she had been convinced to help transport towards a safer location. All she was doing right now was walking in a straight line very, very carefully and hoping that either Mr. Samson or Mr. Jonas would let her know that she was about to walk into a lamppost or a wall or something else.

This was not a good situation, she privately thought to herself, pouting. She didn't come to this game to do chores.

But, well. There was that lady Kaede who helped her get to Dormont in the first place, and she said that heroes weren't really about your things, but what was in your heart. It sounded trite. Then again, Valdrada wasn't the one who had been playing the game for longer. So maybe Kaede knew what she was talking about.

"Don't you dare break her things by hitting that bench!"

Time for a little course correction. Valdrada took a few steps to the right, pausing suddenly when one of the trinkets wobbled dangerously, and heaved a sigh of mixed relief and frustration when it didn't fall. Relief, obviously, but also frustration because she'd just have to keep going along with this.

Adjusting her grip, Valdrada continued on. Time to be a real hero.

    Crash!

Startled, Valdrada spun around to look at what happened. She had just jostled something a little bit, it wasn't even that hard! Besides, it wasn't like she fully knew how to control her tail yet! It just moved on its own, sometimes. A little tiny thing like that couldn't possible have...

    Oh no.

Val winced at the shattered statue on the ground, broken into hundreds of tiny marble pieces. She didn't mean to!

But right now, there wasn't anyone to see her fumble. Mr. Samson and his father were both talking inside, which meant that she had time. To- to...

No she didn't! There was no way that she'd be able to clean it all up with her bare hands! Maybe she could hide it? But what if Mr. Jonas noticed that one of his precious statues was missing, or if something was out of place? What could she do, what could she-

As she was flailing about trying to find something to do about it, she accidentally swiped her hand too quickly, and yelped as a panel of light opened up in front of her. Huh? What was that?

    Levitate...?

Having separated from the magical girl she'd met once before, Harveste wandered the streets on one side of the capital, seeking the boy they'd been asked to look for. With them separated, there was a higher chance of finding him, the girl thought- but, as she delved into some of the deeper corners of the area, she realized an unsettling issue.

    Now, she was lost.

Wincing as she felt some fatigue from walking without a path in mind for longer than she'd meant, the Faerin fell to her knees to catch her breath, looking around her with worry over where she might be.

"Where is this...? Damnit... I should have stayed near Magi after all... Maybe it would've been smarter together. I forgot... I just get lost so easily... And I can't ask Kaede or anyone for help, can I... Who do I know around here...? Besides Magi..."

Drowning her sorrows in determination for a change, she propped up and messaged the girl.

    img
    Harveste
@Magi Heart, can you help me? I... Kind of got lost trying to find that lost boy...If you find him, tell me! I might try to sit put a bit to see if I can find help...In knowing where I am. I've sent my coordinates, but not sure that'd help anyway. Hope you're having better luck than I am!

Feeling at least some sense of accomplishment, she took a seat on a stoop and looked around. "Where could that little boy be...? And is he even really that little? By my standards he might be a giant at his age..."

This levitation spell was really, really cool. But it took a lot of concentration. The second that Valdrada took even a bit of her attention off of trying to levitate the broken pieces of the statue into place, the whole thing would wobble and there would be no way that she could apply the glue she had scavenged around for.

And of course, now that she was thinking about how hard it was, the head of the angel statue slipped from where she had been levitating it against its neck. Val winced. Okay, focus... focus...

"What happened here? What did you do?!"

She let out a shout of surprise, and the marble head was flung across right towards Mr. Jonas who had come out of the building. Eyes widening, Valdrada scrambled up to try and hide the evidence of what she'd done.

But that wasn't of any use now. Not when Mr. Jonas just had to catch a piece of a very obviously broken marble statue so it wouldn't hit his face.

Valdrada cringed guiltily. How was she going to explain this...?

Her first instinct was to try and downplay it. It was a statue, and it wasn't like he didn't have another two dozen of them (and she would know, because she had to count and arrange them all when she was carrying them along). Would he even notice one tiny little statuette missing among all the others that he had?

But she had overheard a little bit of the conversation between Mr. Jonas and Mr. Samson. These statues and trinkets were all belongings of Mr. Jonas's wife, who died a long time ago. So obviously these were all really important things. Even if he had a lot of them, each individual little one still mattered. Why else would he have kept them all this time?

Wringing her hands, Valdrada summoned the courage to look up at Mr. Jonas's upset face. "I- I'm sorry. I accidentally knocked it over, and the statue broke. I've been trying to fix it! But I know it's important to you, and I'm so sorry that I broke it."

Without giving himself up from exhaustion, Jace continued to mend the light armor and tools that were broken from the fight with his tools at his disposal. Yet, the more he continued on using his Magecrafting skills, the more energy he will lose as mending and repairing the tools could physically and mentally tire the poor prodigy out.

What's worst was the sound of the fight broke out as he noticed some soldiers and mages began to ran out of the wall to join their comrades to stop the enemies. Unfortunately for him, that means more broken tools for him to fix if the mages come back here alive. Regardless, he continued his work without any complaints, not wanting to surrender himself to the mad king. Yet, he had a strange feeling that something bad will happen next.

Finally, she could see the light outside the alley in which she'd found herself lost, a deep sigh of relief escaping her once trembling lips. She could see tavern that wasn't so foreign to her, the familiar sight letting her calm the anxiety she'd been so filled with just before.

"That tavern... I'm sure I've been there at least once. Okay, I know where I am, now I can really find that kid...But where would he be hiding, anyway? If he's as wise s his folks are for asking for help...Maybe he's waiting where he got lost in the first place?"

Figuring it worth a shot, she started to walk to the tavern to look for clues. The parents, after all, had mentioned living in this area amidst the chaos. "A little kid would stay where they know... Says the one who looks like one that didn't. If I can find him, I'll sing him a song to ease his pain... Yeah, that'd be good!" Giggling, she began to hum and sing as she walked. A song of hope, love, and dreams.
