Rodger was not doing very well. Sure he helped slow down the assault, but he was being harassed by enemy fire from the siege towers along with the crew who kept it going. He'd heard the scouts report and scowled at the grim circumstances, 'So much to do, but not enough time for one man to do all three.'

Slipping back into the chair of the bastilla, Rodger worked with the crew to load another round. He took aim at the siege tower and fired. He wasn't sure if the same barrier that blocked the magical attack would also block normal steel and wood, but the hunter truly hoped that it wouldn't.

His prayers was answered as the bolt tore threw the side of the tower, killing some, but ultimately leaving the transport functioning as it continued forward. Rodger gave a laugh to invigorate the men, "Load another! We can still win!"

    Southwatch

With teamwork and cooperation, Southwatch was able to nuke down the builders who nearly finished building a bridge for the the trail of flaming battering rams to knock the door down, and so, they celebrated their small victory over the Falderen forces, boosting morale among their ranks. However, while they had their early celebration, the reality of war quickly caught up to them as a burst of light could be seen in the distance. It was the enemy mages! They were able to finish their magical ritual for a spell of an incredible magnitude.

After the initial burst of light, its radiance continuously expanded outward in waves, its shape reminiscent of a drop of water disturbing the still surface of a lake. Your reflex prompted you to dodge the magical wave; however, if you did not give in to your instinct, the wave would pass over you as it continued until it encapsulated the wall. A massive tremor could be felt as everyone who mounted atop the wall had to grab onto something to stop themselves from being knocked over. A few unlucky saps fell off the wall as the result of the powerful tremor.

Confusion began to spread like wildfire as people began to panic, not knowing what that strange spell has done to the wall. However, their queries were immediately answered as a massive boulder flew through the air and smashed one segment of the wall, triggering a monumental collapse that reduced that segment of the wall into rubble. Although the wall was able to resist the assault earlier, it did not hold that time.

You would not be wrong to assume that the spell was harmless to the people it touched. Rather, it was a way for the enemy to soften the wall for their catapults. Fortunately, catapults would not attack sections of the wall where the siege towers would come in and dock. At the very least, you stopped the flaming battering ram, which would have allowed the infantry to swarm in, dealing much more damage.

And so, the siege towers used the mass confusion to close in on the wall. Once they were at the proper distance, the massive door at the top of the towers came down, connecting the siege towers to the wall. If you were on the wall at that time, you'll be able to see a large number of enemies huddled together within the tower. In unison, the ring-eyed soldiers raised their shield up and began swarming the wall, engaging in an all out melee brawl.

If you had the chance to peek over the battlement, you would have seen the enemy infantry swarming the siege towers and climbing up from within. Things were about to get crazy...

The enemy subtracted 2000. If this number ever reach zero, the wall will be considered fallen and the enemy will have successfully capture it.
    • The time limit (big clock) has been decreased by 5 hours.
    • If the flaming battering rams are still around, subtract an extra 3000.

Combat Close-quarter combat is happening on the wall now since the siege towers have docked, allow heaps of enemies to completely swarm the wall. You must fight. Although you are fighting now, you still need to add your result to the orange number.

Sure enough, it was Verity who she had been fighting with. He asked if she had heard about the rescue efforts. To be honest, she knew that there was a rescue effort and why it happened, but nothing about what actually happened.

Before she could answer, a sudden mistake of selecting the wrong spell from the menu occupied her thoughts as she debated between completing the spell and using it or cancelling the thing entirely. She opted for a cancel.

"No, I didn't." She said. She didn't bother to clarify the 'not in detail' part.

As she started casting a new spell to rejoin the defense efforts, she listened to Verity commenting about their persistence. Before she could even reply, a sudden tremor broke her concentration again as she braced herself.

Nothing happened. Not to her. Unfortunately, she couldn't say the same about their objective: The wall. Something from the siege weapon had flown out and smashed it away. To make matters worse...

"Now we face that persistence directly."

The infantry was now upon them, where Sylpha did not have the benefits that came with throwing attacks from a distance. Now, all she could do was change the type of spell going out so as to avoid friendly fire.

No time to waste then. They were getting overrun, and they wouldn't be able to keep up the defense. Claire stood up, brandishing her staff. "Time to get up close and personal," she said wryly, giving @Eleanor Loan a lopsided smile. "I'll just be... working out a bit of frustration. Don't mind me."

It was true that knocking down and hindering some of those soldiers from afar felt good, but there was nothing like a good old skull-bashing for venting. There were a few soldiers nearing them, and more pouring out from the towers. Well, that suited her just fine.

She grinned as she summoned up a few small walls of ice. Not really to try and trap people or block them off, but enough to provide a nice little funnel where she could not have to worry about getting flanked.

Oh, and would you look at that? There were a few ring-eyed soldiers already stepping up to volunteer to get smacked around. She grinned as she pulled back her staff, ready to crack a few skulls. This was going to feel so good.

As they put the last of the engineers to the torch, Kijin turned to see a swarm of skirmishers flood across the siege towers and break through the outer wall. They washed across the ramparts like a plague gone out of control, spilling allied blood mercilessly. It fell to the lone swordsman to hold the line.

He stepped forward with his blade dipped low as the murderous Falderen troops rushed at him, eyes set on something beyond them, somewhere far in the distance. A gentle breeze, uncharacteristic of the bloody battlefield they fought on made the world seem still for an instant, as though previously undisturbed.

They moved in fluid order, a trained killing machine meant to grind Astorean troops like meat and spew them back out again. What they had not expected was the resistance they received.

Kijin would later describe it as a phenomenon unlike anything he had experienced, in a game or otherwise. Though the host of unforgiving soldiers and Knights charged, his blade flashed time and again, almost like lightning. Blood did stain the walls of Dormont, but it was not the blood that the Falderen had expected.

He matched even their fastest swordsman with skilled strokes, parrying powerful blows with ease and forcing the enemy to give up precious gained ground.

Instead of barking orders, Kijin decided to lead by example.

His movements forced the foe to trip and clamber over one another for position. They formed a closely knit wall of swords, spears, shields, and bodies, but their wildest blows only managed to knick the co-commander of Southwatch as he stood his ground.

He turned the blade slightly in hand, and gentle light shone over the bloodied edge as he inspected it, then flicked the blood callously away.

Vivian's spell circle had dissipated back into the void of the world. However, the purple eyes of her malefimancy remained as she looked on what could have been something life threatening. A wash ran down her spine as she was hit with a mystical force. She had no idea what it did, but she would find out moments later. With the sound of rock colliding into their Walls, Vivian had little time to recover from the rumble. Her hands reached for anything that would steady herself as her knees wobbled and the dust in the air was kicked up.

She growled like a feral cat her hand slid to her exotic hilted blade. She watched as the Co-Commander stood in front of the enemy as they gathered towards the skirmish. He was like a beacon of shining hope for all those who watched on. His sword eviscerated the foes one by one as he slew them with that powerful blade. And here Vivian thought, a Tank out DPSing her.

With her hand over the hilt, she slowly began to unsheathe the blade. The long curved sword was now heavy in her hands, but the weight was nothing compared to the mess she was going to make against Falderan. With a low whisper as she walked towards the incoming attacks, her sword moved like the cracking of dawn. A rotting, vile color of purple aura appeared over the blade as Vivian made waste to those who stood in her path.

She swept her blade only for it to cut into the soul of those instigating her. Her blade would tear and render essence rather than flesh as it bit to the core of the enemy and left them in waste and corroded flesh. The heat of the blade was like a toxin, it burned but it didn't melt. No the pain was just everlasting as it would eat, devour and multiply as it reached more and more levels of craving. Thanks to the stored up power of @Eileen Dover 's buff, Vivian was able to easily cleave through their souls with the greatest of ease and satisfaction.

Though she still felt somewhat bitter and cheated from what happened in the tunnels, there was no time to dwell on that now. It was a full blown war and Velka could only hope that she would do better this time. Now, this was her time. No more faffing about with elemental resistances or giant garbage slimes and definitely no more PARALYSIS. She was here to fight NPCs and break through their ranks.

Much better this time. The Nine of Spades would be perfect for this situation. She sent it off to scoop a bunch of earth and toss it onto the air. Without further ado, she formed the mass of dirt into a bunch of flechette and rained hell on the invading troops at the walls. Just to be sure, she buffed the projectiles with Latona: Luminosity. This time, unlike that slime, it actually did its job and helped with the hurting rather than healing the opposition. Thank goodness for that.

In the heat of the moment, she really didn't need somebody telling her how to do her damn job, even if @Aalam Abungu was technically her commander. Did he have healing powers? No? Then leave her to heal people as needed, damn it! "I got it, I got it!" she practically growled at the man's disappearing back.

Inhaling deeply, Eileen briefly activated her investigation mode. Even with it guiding her sight, the chaos made it difficult to spot who needed her help and who could handle themselves.

Weakest people kept in her mind's eye, Eileen began to belt out a powerful song. The melody floated on the winds, carrying off to her targets and wrapping around them like a protective cloak. Though they weren't particularly strong, they could at least man the siege equipment or make good meat shields. Better to keep them alive while she could rather than having to waste her energy picking them up from the clutches of death.

"Keep it up!" she bellowed, voice ringing despite the combat. As long as they kept on fighting, she wouldn't have to go down there herself.

  2. Bradwynne watched with horror as he saw the wall crumble down after the combined assault of the magi and the catapults. Maybe they should take note of what they had done later when they would manage to fight off the soldiers who were trying to scale the walls and penetrate their defenses.

He turned to face the troop that was at the back of the slain engineers. To be sure, this was the same troop that shot numerous arrows at him. Just near by him, his commander @Kijin Shihaku broke through the enemy troop with ease, and he wondered if he could do the same. Fueled by the admiration of Kijin's prowess, he turned towards the troop again, and then dashed towards their direction. But more arrows struck through his body, stopping his motion yet again. Unimaginable pain coursed through his brain, and he was about to lose hope in his own prowess, when suddenly, he heard a voice singing somewhere from the walls. Due to the heat of the battle he could not pinpoint the direction, but after the singing the pain was gone. One thing is for sure: Someone was trying to cheer him up, and it would do her injustice if he would not continue.

"RAAAAAHHHH" With a shout he shrugged from his mind the idea of surrender, and facing the troop which would attack him, he then stood imposingly, his katana returning to its sheath, but not for long when the soldiers started to attack him. He drew his katana, and with one or two swift strokes, took down one soldier at a time that was charging at him, each time he returned the sword to its sheath. Although he was also being stabbed by the other soldiers, he paid them no heed as he was focused on one goal: to end this war once and for all.

Life had taken a turn for them and their wall. Before Emerath knew it, a bright light had washed over him and his tank companion, though no visible damage was done to either. But the damage was done, nonetheless. Suddenly, arrows went flying through the gate that he had been repairing as if it were just a sheet of plastic. "That... isn't normal." Emerath said as he tried to patch the hole, only for an arrow to narrowly miss his hand on the wood. "Nope, I think we need to get a move on," he said, turning to @Savannah Reed as he heard combat begin up above on the battlements.

"I do hope you'll continue to accompany me up above!" he said to her, as he made his way back up the stairs to the top of the wall. As he poked his head through the hole in the floor that opened to the battlements, he saw a swarm of soldiers and his own team. He had to be careful, as he hardly recognized the people of his team, and he'd hate to do damage to his friends. Though, in his favor, most of his allies were a bit more extravagant, or at the very least not uniform against the Ferelden colors.

But Emerath had little time to contemplate who his enemies were, as he emerged from the stairs and found a man charging directly at him, sword raised on high. Emerath managed to dodge the sword swing, and deftly wrapped his arm around the man's neck, and whipped him over his shoulder and down off the wall into the stone below. Provided Savannah would be with him going forward, he called out to her and said, "Watch your head, we have a LOT of incoming!"

Claire was having the time of her life. Well, not really. There was that small part about getting stabbed and sliced and stuck with arrows in the middle of a crumbling defensive wall. But it was a damn enjoyable time nonetheless. Watching an army of frog people demolish a Falderen fortress wasn't as satisfying as getting to smack some people about herself.

She drummed her fingers against her staff as the combat began to slow a bit, at least in the areas near her. She'd worked through a decent number of soldiers, but there were still so many pouring in over the walls.

But, it was time to take stock of her situation. She'd gotten... more than a bit scraped up. In fact, she was feeling quite sore all over, from the various wounds and burns and other assorted injuries that had racked up. Ugh. Maybe she'd have to fall back for a while... Though that hardly seemed like a viable option at the moment; even though they, as a collective group, had dealt with so many soldiers, it seemed as if the tide of Falderens was never ending.

Well, enough reflection. Claire got back into position and held her staff defensively in front of her. There was a fresh batch of soldiers coming in, and Claire had a very impactful message for them.

True to @Sylpha Astarte's words, Verity witnessed the soldiers broke through the wall as many of their allies began to fight with swords and magic. This was bad. He expected the wall could give them more time to stop the army before the assassination group would achieve their goal. But with this sudden change of twists and turns of the war, he knew they needed to act fast.

"At this rate, the people inside the walls won't able to survive. Make sure to inform the Supports to focus on the other offensive allies no matter what." That's what Verity said to Sylpha before he headed down to join the fight. With his sword in hand, he began to slice down every soldier he can face. From spears, swords, and clubs, he used his speed and his Regler Parry and Gale Step skills to avoid and counter their attacks against him. And despite he felt the pain from the cuts and bruises he endured, he didn't stop as the fate of Astorea rests in their hands.

With her good deed done for the day, Velka called upon her llumancy to heal some of the people around her. They looked like they had a pretty rough day, she supposed that fighting a war would do that to you. She'd also been having a bad day herself but... that wasn't important right now. She took a quick draw, King of Diamonds. Well, that would help out considering she was planning on doing some multi target healing. Honestly, she was kinda hoping for something like an Eight of Hearts but that was just the luck of the draw. Still, she didn't have to physically run around through the thick of the fighting using a healing weapon, which was always a plus in her books.

Her aim was true and their health was slightly restored, it wasn't that much but hey, she had a feeling that it would be better than trying to fight. It was getting pretty crowded up there and depending on her draws, geomancy could be real destructive. Might even bring the whole wall down if she wasn't careful. She would wait on the sides and support the team, for now.

She huffed as her hard work went unthanked, though her song continued to coil around those three she'd chosen earlier. They seemed to be the weakest of the bunch and, for now, Eileen would help them out. It was almost painful keeping track of everybody's health bars, though Eileen supposed it would be better than hopping down to handle the combat herself. And as much as she would be willing to just... walk away... Terrasphere was actually becoming a fun hobby for her. She didn't want to ruin the plot too quickly by leaving when she could do something.

The song finally came to a close and Eileen found herself nearby another... healer? It seemed like the glowing weapons they were tossing at people were helping rather than hurting, but it was hard for Eileen to tell. All she knew was that it looked rather fascinating.

She slid to @Velka's side with a smirk and a nod. "Glad to know I'm not the only one keeping their sorry asses alive! Name's Eileen!" she shouted over the battle cries beneath the wall. "What about you?"

The self-styled Ronin pressed forward the only way he knew how; despite heavy resistance, Kijin continued his bold onslaught and forced a stalemate along the ramparts. His weapon dug deep into the shoulder of an opposed heavy, dousing the swordsman in a mess of arterial spray before he shrugged the lifeless foe from his weapon.

Unlike the other leader of the Southwatch Effort, Kijin did not know if anyone heard his voice or followed in his footsteps, nor did he waste any time asking. He had yet to fall, and the enemy had yet to break through him and gain any ground.

That small victory would have to be enough to stoke the flames of success.

He witnessed the powerful, passionate warcry of @Bradwynne as the both transcended his own expectations and inadequacies to join Shihaku on the Front line. Instead of mocking his foolishness or praising him outright, Kijin offered the youth a level headed nod, one that acknowledged his tenacity- or deathwish- and approved of his right to stand tall as a warrior.

"Steady," he crooned in a confident monotone. "We're going to need that enthusiasm soon enough."
