Emerath couldn't gain much ground as it seemed that a lot of soldiers had made it to the wall. More than he would have expected. He tried to keep the stairs clear, and basically his goal at this point was to not let any of them make it down to the gate to let even more soldiers in. But it seemed like for each soldier he threw off the wall to their death, another three took their place. He was starting to get tired.

    skill
    Lightning Fist

As another soldier came charging at him, Emerath managed to reflexively throw a Lightning Fist at the armored man, and he found that the punch had thrown him into another soldier, causing a domino reaction across a few of the men running towards him, throwing the tail end off of the other side of the wall with a scream.

He huffed, before a man came up beside him and he felt a dagger slide into his side from a soldier using the others as a distraction to try to catch him off guard. He gritted his teeth as he groaned, before he turned and delivered a solid punch to the man's head, causing him to reel, before he pulled the dagger out and threw it off the side of the wall. "Well, if nothing else, he hopefully doesn't have another one of those," he muttered as he saw the man start patting himself for another dagger only to be slammed off of the wall by another shielded soldier on his team.

Much to Emerath's delight however, he didn't feel the pain for long, as lovely songs and what he thought was glowing weaponry were used to knit his wounds and heal his ailments. Now all that was left was a bit of a sore throbbing in his side as the blood staunched and he felt a bit invigorated to continue fighting. He made a mental note to thank the healers after the war was won, as he used one soldier's polearm against him, using it as a lever to launch him over Emerath's head and throw him out of the fight. Emerath was running out of creative ways to throw dudes off the wall.

Eleanor had managed to recognize the oncoming spell, to an extent, watching as the wave of magical energies struck through the wall like a tsunami. The shaking commenced, as a part of the wall crumbled away. As the detective focused on keeping her balance, she had not noticed the siege towers approaching the wall.

She nodded to @Claire Thalassa, before turning her gaze elsewhere, noticing a somewhat isolated part of the wall. It was obvious that those who had previously been defending the area, either falling due to the tremors, or by the barrage of flaming arrows, had been defeated.

Darting towards it, Eleanor arrived just as the bridge came down, the armed foes beginning to charge across. With wide eyes, she stared into the warlike visage of her enemy, charging with belligerent fury. While the sight was overwhelming, and quite intimidating as well, she did not let the fear trample her, thanks to the somewhat inspirational, and very oddly familiar voice of an @Eileen Dover. For some reason, thoughts of lost marbles entered her mind, but were soon dismissed. Pulling back an arm, she lobbed an arcane grenade, her three charms fluttering alongside the orb of energy.

Biting her lip, and placing her hands upon the segment of bridge that rested on the side of the wall, she fired of a quick arcane blast, shattering the attaching pieces of the bridge. As the bridge of the siege tower fell, so did the soldiers upon it, and when the grenade exploded, it sent out waves of force that propelled nearby enemies away. Although her attacks had not been charged, they had been effective in knocking some of her enemies off of the tower.

With a careful arm raised, she pointed towards the siege tower, as some of the soldiers seemed to be preparing to jump towards her. At the very least, her attack had worked out this time! Hopefully, her future attacks would continue to work out as the fighting continued.

Verity jumped down to meet the infantry in a direct clash, leaving her with a message to support as he did. Why he didn't just throw a voice message out himself, she would never know.

Either way, "Okay." was all she gave as she opened up communications to enter the message she was given. Only to realize she couldn't find the channel.

Spending time fiddling with the menu and not fighting, she didn't realize the problems of not focusing on the fight until it was too late. Keeping silent and hoping no one thought of her slacking off, she quietly closed communications before opening her spell menu again to begin casting.

As the fighting continued, anyone who still had the time and attention to keep a watch on the enemy will noticed that the Falderen invaders was setting something up in the distance. It appeared to be some sort of statue made with marble. Its radiating whiteness contrasted the dark background and made it very noticeable. You couldn't tell what the enemy mages were up to, but after a while, the statue began to rise, floating above ground.

Although the sculpture looked rather tiny at first from the distance, you quickly realized how large the it actually was the closer it got to the wall. From what detail you could make out, tt was at least 20 feet tall statue depicting a female angel, evidenced by the wings on her back. She was clearing a cloak that went over her head while she had her hands put together in a praying gesture.

Her lifeless face was sleek, although, the most unsettling feature were her gaping mouth and wide-opened eyes with a glowing ring within. It looked as if the statue was screaming for help. The statue had no legs, as the bottom half narrowed down into a single point, which did not appear to be a problem anyways, considering the fact that the statue was floating above ground, escorted by a group of mages who were responsible for driving her.

If you had the investigation mode turned on, the UI would have indicated that the statue was resistant to damage, due to the magical shield encapsulating it. However, you do not know what it was.

When the soldiers on the wall saw the statue approaching, they quickly began to vacate the wall, pushing their way into the towers that appeared at every segment of the wall. You knew that they were trying to get away from the statue and the towers were the only place where they can get down from the tall wall. The fight continue in an incredibly cramped place as hundreds of soldiers pushed their way into the two towers on either side of the southern wall.

The forces that they passed through were in a tizzy. Savannah watched with wide eyes as some of them turned on one another, cleaving through their compatriots and commanders as if they were paper. There was no lingering sorrow, or mournful howls to accompany the spurts of blood and brain matter that flowed. There were a few that turned their sights on Savannah and her charge, but she confidently stepped forward and took care of them in the quickest and most efficient manner possible.

Seeing most of the carnage near the bridge having come to a halt, she was more than willing to help @Emerath Katou repair instead. Doing what she could to aid him, her head snapped up at the sound of another large explosion. In the chaos, she couldn’t tell if it was coming from her side or the enemy, but it wasn’t good, either way.

And then they were on the move again, this time back into the battlements with Savannah in the lead once more. Yes, of course! she shouted over the noise while sidestepping a dying soldier, a wave of guilt flowing through her only to be ignored for the time being. She’d deal with her part in this when she and Emerath were safer.

Wide eyes turned to the image of the statue approaching the gates and that sinking feeling in Savannah’s stomach only increased. Swallowing her nerves, she could only grip her halberd tighter and fend off the opposition to the best of her ability while protecting the young tinker-er.

Solaria rushed to the scene, disoriented from being spat out of another dimensional rift- or at least, it sure felt that way. To be honest, she could only pray no one would ask her how she’d appeared as if by a miracle outside the tunnel, some glitch having ruined her plans to aid the country once again. She wandered awkwardly for a while, having been set confused for a bit and still feeling it even after it was dispelled, putting her sword back in its sheath, she decided to take a more calm approach, agreeing to focus on support to whichever post would need her.

Having been asked to go to the southern wall, she found there was a great deal of battle being fought, making her internally cringe. She had to focus on healing, and there were a fair number of people she saw in need of it. Focusing on those with rather low health, she noticed a familiar face. Running to a red-haired man in somewhat critical condition, she smiled and put a hand on his back. “Let me help. Rest your mind and let my magic heal you, kay?”

Emerath was growing weary, but he hadn't really noticed that something had changed until the soldiers he had been fighting started scrambling in the other direction. He looked into the distance to see a giant statue, and based on the reaction of the Ferelden soldiers, it was dangerous. This meant that there was no time for thought, regardless of the risks. Emerath said he would fight in this war, and he would do it until the bitter end.

There weren't many ways that Emerath would actually be able to attack the statue with melee, but he would find a way. He looked around and saw that a ballista was still intact. He motioned to @Savannah Reed and said, "I'm going to man that ballista and shoot the statue! I need you to cover me from any soldiers that try to stop me!"

And then he was running. As he ran, he tackled a few soldiers in his path, knocking a few off the wall as they tried to escape to their tower. They weren't paying attention to him anyway, as he strongarmed them to reach the ballista. There was a poor soul that had been shot with arrows lying against the ballista, and Emerath said a prayer for the poor man before he pulled him out of the way, respectfully since he was of Astorea, and grabbed one of the bolts from nearby, loading it into the ballista.

As he loaded, he felt a hand on his back, and a familiar voice. His head turned to see @Solaria there, and she filled him with a warm magic that he felt knit his wounds. He couldn't help the boyish smile that plastered across his face, "Oh you are a sight for sore eyes! Thank you so much!" he said, before pointing to the statue and explaining, "This ballista is going to hit the statue, for whatever good that will do us." And then he started to turn the machine so that it aimed directly for the statue at center mass.

"Here goes nothing," he told his friends alongside him, as he pulled the lever to launch the bolt. Thankfully for Emerath, it flew true, and struck the statue. Although the damage was minimal, he still saw a hole and a solid crack in the stone, and he sighed. "Well, if nothing else, that means it can be hurt. We can do this!" he called out into the massive din of the wall, hoping that the minimal damage would at least drive morale towards taking the thing down.

Vivian felt her body rushed from wind and pushed and swayed. Her teeth grit when they all cramped around her trying to get to the towers, "God...damn it all." The woman had sour thoughts about the whole thing. Taking a deep breath and sweeping hair from her sweaty brow and forehead, she needed to concentrate with her remaining energy.

Casting the spell circle seemed to prove difficult this time as sheathed her blade. It would not be useful in this battle since she had to attack the Angel Statue, "Just don't blink..." she shook her head. Sending off the wind around her, the dark energies shuttled around her arms and legs as it moved through her body like a catalyst. Her dark magic would probably have no extra benefit against a Stone Angel Statue, but that was without cause.

She just had to focus. Focus on herself. This was her fight after all, she felt silly that she was just another pawn in this game. And she could not even make a name for herself here. Everyone was just bunching and crowding around, names and faces didn't matter. Just the actions that followed the avatar. With a low chanting hum from her moist lips, the woman called upon her powers. Her hair flickered left and right with the direction of the wind converging around her. Air grew stale and choking as she moved her arms in waves as the magic buffeted from her fingertips. It was hard to much more else than that, her magic for now would only seem to cause a mild irritation to the Angel. She bit down on her lip and shook her head as she felt the rebound of her energy blast back into her body causing her to stumble out of her spell circle.

    "Shit..."

Though most would be startled by the appearance of an unusually resistant statue, Lady Briar purred in delight from the addition to the mayhem plaguing the strife. She'd been preparing to take care of some of the people that snuck onto the wall with her pointy stick, but to attack a magical statue? That sounded too much fun to just sit back and ignore!

With a grin, she chanted idly- using the troops she'd basically brainwashed with illusions to get them to attack the statue with a similar magical force. Illusion magic was surprisingly good at damaging things with resistance, she noted to herself- at the very least, she did a bit of it on the angel she hated just for it's symbolism alone.

"Go to purrgatory, stupid holy rock. You may be chaotically thrown in, but you're also just a goddamned thing of disgust!"

They had managed to stop the advance of the gate buster, and they were able to make some basic repairs to the wall for a few second things were looking up for the first time in the entire event things were looking up. The siege units had managed to reach the wall however and were enemy soldiers were poring over in waves, each time they were able to push some of them back, but they were slowly overrun. The dead on their side was starting to pill up but they were still holding it no matter how much the toll was they were still holding the wall.

Commander Kijin seemed to reach something in the heat of the moment, Aalam didn’t know whether it was a battle rage or the man was able to call upon revisers from somewhere. In the moment the man was able to help turn the tide against a messy push form the enemy. He was able to break their ranks and the men rallied behind him and were able to drive them from a section of the wall. He had managed to give some of the men hope but Aalam saw what was on the horizon. It was beautiful well it would have been if not for its face that was not the face of an angel of mercy no that was the face of a being in torment. In that moment he remember something the he had found in one of the temple that was in terra. “When the agent of a god’s might comes down may all mortal men feel fear, for there is nothing as terrible than divine beauty.” He could see his death today but he would not let anyone else see theirs, he had promised to hold this wall and that is what he would do.

They would need order while Kijin was leading the way through the field. “Every focus fire on the statue that a bunker buster if I’ve saw one, if you help below fifty Hp stop your attack and focus on the wall. Wait for a support to heal you back up before you start again. If there pulling out something this big then, they are closing in on the end. Lady @Solaria and Lady @Eileen Dover I need you to focus on support keep my player alive we can’t afford to lose then not now. @Lady Briar I need you to harass that angel to the best of your ability teach it why not to mess with us. If the swam of infantry wasn't enough, a bunch of men in spellcaster's clothing brought over a large angel statue. Sylpha didn't even need her magical prowess to determine that statue was magical. Obviously not wanting that statue to get any closer to the wall, Sylpha started to cast a spell to shoot at the mages.

A bolt of arcane magic was sent flying towards the mages, nothing really new on the battlefield. What Sylpha didn't expect was the sudden reflection of the damage she took for such an insignificant spell. The shock went directly to her right arm which she had used to cast the spell, numbing it.

Yes, there was orders being shouted about attacking the statue, but nobody said anything about the reflection despite more than one person receiving it.

"Those people have a damage reflect spell active!" She shouted out. That was it. No follow up 'watch out' or anything. She already had her own problems.

Glancing around the battlefield, she searched for the healers to move towards. She wasn't in critical condition yet, but she might be if she didn't move now.

Lucia frowned, after the... unreasonable? Yes, unreasonable incident in the tunnel clearing, Lucia ended up returning. Internally more and more she was beginning to consider the red rule her enemy, these boring elements her foes. Ruining her perfect world, it was unsatisfying, clenching a fist, she repeated her personal vow to stamp them out internally but that would have to wait for later. Arriving in time to see an angel statue, she felt a bit refreshed, even if things were trying and tough, even if the enemies were strong or difficult to crack... there was something special to them. Something unique she could dig into, something exciting that piqued her curiosity. "@Savannah Reed I'm back." She explained with a mellow smile. Even if she hated the way things went, well, there was no reason to carry that frustration with her into something new.

"@Vivian Cruz you came too mm?" She murmured contently before gesturing with a hand, the gesture caused the familiar wraith's blade spell to take shape. Though she flippantly tossed it in the statue's direction, the sudden retaliation was alarming, but made her brow pique with interest. 'Reflect' right? Such a difficult thing to combat, but not necessarily impossible? "This will be tougher..."

"Now what are the magi planning to do with that stone angel. Don't tell me that that thing might turn into a robot or shoot lasers or something."

Bradwynne did not look like it, but deep down inside, he was shocked at what the ingenuity of the mages can do. Before they had broken down the wall with their softening magic. Now they had a huge statue of an angel escorting them while they moved towards the wall. They were becoming too dangerous not to be taken seriously. If they wanted to continue fighting these soldiers, they had to defeat all the mages that the Falderen army had in disposal. Maybe now should be the time to take them off the picture. He then moved towards the statue to dismantle it and kill the mages that were carrying it.

He then heard again the music that enabled him to endure the pain that he was suffering, and as if the body was responding to that music, the pain was relieved. Bradwynne then glanced at the direction of the music when suddenly he was shocked by a flying glowing hatchet. He tried to evade it, but still it found its way to his heart, cleaving deep into his chest before disappearing. As he saw it, he thought that he will die from the hatchet, but when he looked again at his chest, there was no bleeding from the hatchet, as well as the rest of his body for that matter. He then wondered for what was that hatchet as he ran towards the statue, his right hand grasping the handle of his katana, and then started to chant. A violet aura of magic then started to envelop his right hand.

As he was nearing the statue, he then drew his katana, and then a violet arc started to erupt from the direction of the slash, so as to hit the mages that were carrying the statue. Of course, if the mages were dead, they would not need to worry about the statue. But as the arc was about to make contact with the mages, his arms felt a feedback as if he was trying to slash a moving car head-on. He then put more power into his slash, so as to make the arc progress more, but the feedback was too strong that Bradwynne became dislodged from where he was standing, and stumbled backwards towards the ground. But his attack might have some effect: the statue developed a noticeable crack on its side. Realizing that the statue was protecting the mages, he shouted, "No use attacking the mages while the statue is there! We have to attack the statue!"

He would say that they were winning, but Verity was never the type to be confident regarding on their chances of winning. And he was right. Upon the sight of a strange angel statue, he was confused why the soldiers just brought them out of the blue. He would try to ignore it, but he knew he can't let it stay there for long as he learned from his previous adventures that leaving something would mean their defeat.

As for how to attack it, he knew that his melee attacks especially his Wind Cutter won't be enough to penetrate its defenses. Thinking of this, he sheathed his sword and aimed his right hand to the statue as electricity began to gather through his hand. "Praemium est in fulgur!"

    skill
    Thunder Burst

Usually, he knew that the bolts that were released from his hand would be enough to do its job. But once it made contact to the angel, some of its bolts were deflected by a magical barrier and quickly bounced back to him, shocking him in the process. It didn't make any better when @Sylpha Astarte warned them about the reflect spell, a warning that he heard too late.

Verity just groaned at this just as he heard this late warning. His reckless actions to destroy an obstacle made him lose most of his HP. At this rate, he might try to focus on melee next time. Yet just as he stood back up, he noticed a familiar face who was healing someone. "S-Solaria?!"

The last time he saw @Solaria was that she was signing up for the tunnel expedition. Yet the sight of her in this battlefield baffled him as he run up to her while watching his injuries from that last attack. "What in the world are you doing here? I thought you were at the tunnels!"

While the others prioritized their targets, Kijin was already full tilt in the throes of combat. There was no time to adjust accordingly and attack new targets while his current enemy stood breathing down his neck.

They reeled loudly from unseen Magicks behind him, but Kijin dared not look back. He loosened the grip he had on his katana and released the sleeve from his left side, then right.

Exposed to the world, the swordsman's wounds burned from the icy wind that raged across them. Bloodied, broken, but not bowed or beaten, Kijin slowly brought his weapon up in defiance of the attackers.

He stood alone against a tide of attackers that continued to rise and slammed against him like a battered shoal.
