It was always they were able to hold the angel back it was looking pretty and many people were damaged but they were still able to fight. Commander Kijin was able to fold the front line with a few others offering a level of protection that would have been impossible otherwise. However, he couldn’t be sure how much more damage the defenders could take before they were lost completely. Then the sound started it come from the angel itself even though the creature had no mouth or any place that a sound could come from. It was a wailing a sorrow that ran so deep and so pure that it sucked the life from the people around him. He saw them fall, the soldiers from the capital bleed pouring our form their mouth and eyes. It was terrible to watch for there was nothing that he could do but grit his teeth and wait it out. It seemed to last for an eternity, the sound worked its way through his bones. His teeth felt like they would vibrate right out of his skull. The pain brought him to his knees but it didn’t kill him so he stood back up. Blood leaking from his mouth where he bit his lip to stop him from passing out, he wasn’t going to lose here.

However, there were orders to be given turning on investigation mode to check the field before calling out. @Kijin Shihaku “If your defenders can’t tank anymore I need you to pull them out get healed up before trying to take a blow like that again. We haven’t lost anyone now so let’s not give this creature anything else. Everyone else keep pouring on the damage as much as you are able if you fall too low get to a healer.”

This was looking bleak and it was the eleventh hour they need to take this beast down before it could advance to the south wall. He had never been more proud to serve with anyone even when he had fought with Lord Seto to protect one of the towns in the southern ducky from raiders. This was different they had lost the wall because of his order but they had become a sort of living wall. Holding back the advance of the emery on skill and will alone. He needed a better vantage point for his arrows to their proper work. Getting as high as possible and taking aim and releasing the shield break watching it bury itself in the beast.

As the two tanks coordinated to keep the other players behind them, both players were wary of keeping the beast's aggression controlled. Kijin, as a melee contender, managed this through continued attacking- it was his preferred method.

He remained bloodied, but his attacks grew no less wild with wear. Clean cuts and severe slashes marked the staples of his style, placing more importance on hitting than on how hard. His muscles tensed and relaxed through every motion, as though body and mind were both one with the game.

The powerful, low arcing slash aimed swiftly at the Angel's abdomen was markedly less powerful now that he had switched his settings to defensive, but the grunt and response from the creature served as proof that they were not less effective.

Timing and targeting were everything in his business.

And in this fight, every hit counted.

Claire began setting up the ice walls, trying to find the best places to position them so they would take the brunt of the attacks, while still not impeding the ability of the people around her to fight. If they could block off some of the Falderen soldiers from getting in their way, then all the better, but that was secondary to the more immediate concern of the giant angel.

She glanced over to @Kijin Shihaku. Seemed like he was doing rather well for himself out here on the battlefield. Good form on his strokes (though, what did she know of good swordsmanship? All she knew was how to bash some skulls in and puncture a couple of lungs). He looked a bit banged up, but at this point, who wasn't, really?

"Nice little speech earlier," she said, trying to keep her tone light. No reason not to have a decent talk while facing down what looked like the end of the world. Might as well extend some courtesy of polite conversation to someone who was going to be taking the big hits with her. "You're a man of less words than our other commander, aren't you. But, who really needs words when you've got action to back it up?"

Down at this level, there really wasn't much else for her to attack other than rock. She could technically use her magic to try and lob some javelins at it again, but she'd rather put her dwindling energy reserves to better use conjuring up more walls. While she took a break between putting those up, she took a couple more potshots at the statued half of the angel. Didn't do much, but then again, that wasn't really her focus at this point.

As several people attacked the Angel creature from all angles and distances, Sylpha now had to make sure none of her attacks would strike any of her allies, their attacks, or all the ice walls coming up to stop the inevitable counterattack from the Angel... thing.

Compared to many others who liked to throw banter or bark orders for morale, Sylpha felt much better being able to just consistently throw out her magic, even if the effectiveness varied. Peering at her remaining energy, Sylpha decided that she could still afford throwing more at her current pace.

Completing another spell, a flash of purple arcane energy joined the fray, just like before. The beam drew the distance between her and the advancing Angel, striking it in the chest. She hoped that it's next target would not be the towers...

Hearing @Lucia Mierz‘s words only made Savannah grind her molars together and grip her weapon tighter. She widened her stance and let her frantic eyes dance around the battlefield as she stepped in front of Lucia. What kind of Knight would I be if I didn’t live up to my vow! I have to protect you, even if it means I forfeit my life for yours!

Those wide lavender eyes also zeroed in on @Vivian Cruz. She hadn’t even realized that the other shadowmancer had arrived at the fight. How long as the Princess been here…and without protection nonetheless. Granted, their first meeting had been somewhat strained, she couldn’t let her die. Especially since it seemed Lucia and Vivian knew each other.

Princess Vivian, I shall protect you as well!

Emerath rolled onto his back and looked upside down at the creature that everyone was hitting. Everyone was hitting it so hard, and the creature was reeling, despite having only just been "born". But that was fine. It was time for Emerath to make use of another contraption.

    skill
    Grappling Hook Slingshot

Emerath pulled out his Grappling Hook Slingshot, and aimed it for the statue's lower half that hadn't turned into a fleshy thing. He launched the hook, and his heart stopped as it flew. But he gave a cry as it found purchase on the remaining stone. Now Emerath just had to hope that he had enough platform up there to stand on.

Emerath had to climb, and he had to do it fast, as he hooked the slingshot and the rope to his belt, before grabbing the rope and giving it a tug. It was solidly stuck. And so he began to climb, just like he had been taught in gym class. Thankfully the creature wasn't super high off the ground, but it was still a struggle as Emerath had to dodge a few of his allies' attacks. He pushed himself to reach the fleshy bits, and found that he had just enough room to stand on as he hefted himself up onto the large moving creature.

"Alright you stupid thing. This has been a really, really long war for me. I just want you to die already!" And then Emerath just began punching. As he punched, he wondered if one could bruise a marble being, and he was about to find out. Emerath punched the soft fleshy bits above the statue until he could feel his wounds start to catch up to him. He huffed, rather sad that the thing hadn't just fallen. But he saw that he had, in fact, left nice robin's egg on it's belly. Emerath chuckled at his handiwork, before looking back down and then carefully making the jump back down, rolling as he landed and getting back behind his tanks.

"Melee, climb the rope to hit the thing if you don't have any other way to reach it!" he called out, hoping that his team could finish the job as he disconnected the rope from his slingshot and just... sat down over here for a moment and tried not to vomit from his wounds.

The Angelic Hatchling stirred and writhed in pain as Southwatch continued their assault on its porcelain body, chipping away at its flesh. Titling its head upward, the creature let out another cry, even louder than the last, dealing damage to everyone in Southwatch. Blood should be running from everyone's eyes, ears, and nose, as the attack on the psyche was far too unbearable for the majority of people.

As the health of the hatchling continued to drop from the rest of the adventurers around her digging into the monster, Emmeline watched on with a serious expression, hands still out stretched to the side and ice crystals still floating in the circular motion around her. She needed to do a little bit more damage then she usually did, or at least a little more... Reckless.

Spotting a piece of rubble, she ran toward it at a quick speed, jumping up it like a mountian goat and then launching herself off the top, twisting her body around in the air in what could be seen as a graceful twirl, although she seemed to be in control of how her body moved as she did so, skirt fluttering out around her as she twirled and ponytails whipping around her face as her head turned to lock her target. Years of cheer leading would probably do that to you. At the exact same time, she began launching her crystals of ice at the monster while she did so, hitting the monster in multiple places before she heading towards the ground.

She landed as carefully as possible, the screams of the angel making her stumbling for only a second as she held her ground, still bent over from landing. She paused as she felt some fluid run from her nose, raising a hand and pulling back to reveal blood red against her white skin. She seemed to only take minimal damage, though... Her ears just rung as the scream echoed through her mind.

Eileen didn't spend every day chanting for the death of a hideous angel monster thing. She wasn't the religious sort, no, but let other people celebrate their ridiculous faiths and what have you. No harm done... right? But looking at what must've been birthed from Satan's asshole itself, Eileen was quickly starting to reconsider her stance on harmless religious beliefs.

    "DOWN WITH THE ANGEL!"
she shouted, adrenalin and hysteria bubbling into laughter. She sang harder, belting out each word with unbidden power.

The scream was more than he had bargained for. Balmung swiftly clamped his hands over his ears, dropping swords, and the sound penetrated his very being and disoriented him. He was left standing, but only just, his knees threatening to buckle under his own weight, his mind a disruptive mess of pain and incoherence.

The sound ended as abruptly as it began. Many of the players had been knocked down by the blast, even Balmund would have been flung backwards by the force had he not dug in his heels in the knick of time. The assault party was left in a mess, with many of the attackers now trying to find their lost weapons or find some healing for their wounds.

The image of the injured and broken flashed through his mind. His resolve returned to him quickly, and he grabbed his weapon from the trampled earth to which it had fallen. He once more took on a stance of defiance against the angelic beast, leveling his the tip of his blade with the area that he had struck before.

With a single bound he was once again on the offensive, rushing forward as fast as his powerful steps would carry him, pushing himself to move faster, his legs to stretch wider. He was joining a few of the others who had regained their senses in a meager assault to strike back after the foul cretin's attack.

With the same fluidity as before, he once again struck true, slicing deeply into the angel's flesh as if it was the same as a butcher cutting meat.

Although they had poured their all against the statue-turned-angel, it was still standing. It seemed that there was no hope for all of them until Bradwynne saw an opportunity. It took the form of a grappling hook that was fired by no less than his acquaintance @Emerath Katou that connected to the stony part of the abomination. He watched with gusto as the brawling tinker smashed the crud out of the statue. Although he had to move away due to his wounds, the precedent was set as he shouted at the melee soldiers to scale the rope that he had connected from the ground to the fleshy part of the abomination which even Bradwynne could never reach without jumping.

Not wasting time, he moved towards the rope, and then climbed slowly but steadily towards the area which divided the fleshy and stony parts of the abomination. He then drew his katana while his legs steadied on the ropes, and was about to slice the fleshy part of the angel when suddenly he heard the shriek of the abomination. This time, it was more intense that his ears exploded, blood squirting out of his head. He tried to get in one last slash, but the katana dropped from his hand, until he himself released his grip on the rope and dropped down on the ground.

This was it. The Hatchling's last attempt to stop the adventurers from its destruction. Verity could feel the pain in his ears as he listened to its horrifying screech while his HP quickly fell into a critical condition. Yet, like the others who managed to survive thanks to the tanks' efforts, he managed to remain his ground with his sword still on his hand.

Enough is enough. It was time to finish this monstrosity as he glared at it while he charged his sword with electricity. Before anyone can react, Verity casted Gale Step as he quickly charged onto the Hatchling. Swinging his blade to it, he uttered this words to it:

    "Adieu."

As he swung the blade, it left an electric trail as he cut down the monster's final strength.

Seeing that someone had died in the angel's assault, even with the tanks trying to hold the line, Velka put her newly reinforced Illumancy to the test. It was going to be a long shot, and she didn't even know if it would work but as she ran over to Bradwynne's body, she found that she didn't care. Time for a draw.

    Fortuna: Revolution!
    skill
    Fortuna: Reave

Ace of Diamonds, well, she would certainly need the strength behind the card. Really she would have discarded until she drew something like this, the angel was dead after all. A huge array of blinding blades, formed from Illumancy began to surge around Velka. Then, she poured all the healing magic she could muster into them. Using Geomancy to prop up the body as best as she could, she then perforated the corpse with an absolute ton of healing blades. It was similar to what she had done to the 'eel' back in Finweald, only a lot more tiring due to her lesser grasp on Illumancy.
