Coastal zones were to die for. Uma loved the watch the artificial waves crack themselves on beaches and rocks so damn rhythmically. Someone has got to sell swimsuits here. So far, besides the cities, the Dunnstads was a place she liked the most of all, and kept returning to, despite the sea raiders.

But now, it was just business at the moment. Some girl sobbed her sob story being caught up in a pyramid scheme---by a cult?!--and how she wanted her ring back.

Not her money, her ring. Uma rubbed her stripped cheek. The quest writing needed some improvement, though it was a step up from 'Kill ten rats'. But hey, a quest was a quest, even if she had to share the rewards with someone else.

    Her ears twitched.

    Now, where was that player?

  2. While Uma was wondering where she was, Lilianna still had a hand on her chin, trying to dissect the quest accepting process. This whole experience was simply too alien to her. Let alone playing a VR game, playing a video game in general was something she'd never done before. Common concepts like 'Quests', 'Party Structure' and 'Gamer Strategy' were all unknown concepts to her who experienced them for the first time. The screen in front of her face was clear, projected by the system with a circle or an X asking for her approval in the quest, but she analyzed the quest details with a suspicious gaze.

"But... I don't understand. Can't you just get another ring?" Lilianna tried to ask clearly puzzled, unable to wrap her head around it. She'd dropped her own wedding ring down the drain a few times after all, and even while her Wife complained and cried over it for hours, after buying new ones, the sting weakened until there were only smiles again. "... Well, if money is an issue, how did you get the first one? Isn't it possible to save little by little?" Lilianna just wouldn't let this issue go, she continued trying to offer the woman easier options rather then directing them to fight over this with a cult. It seemed unreasonable to just demand something back after a deal was struck. While Lilianna felt bad, this was a certain case of 'buyer beware'.

When it proved useless though she finally pressed the circle wondering if she did it right, double checking and rechecking a few times to be absolutely sure she didn't cruelly reject this person in her time of crisis. "Alright... I suppose I'll help just this once, but you really need to be careful." Lilianna complained, she didn't like doing these unjust things, but even in real life she understood a lot of evil doers hid behind the laws, she wasn't someone who would split hairs with this strange game. "We're done here Erin, let's go find this other person... Honestly I would have settled for checkers-- but she had to pick this type of game." Lilianna groaned internally, checkers or connect four was sounding a lot more fun hen this perplexing game without clear objectives.

Reaching down for her little friend, she lifted Erin the small wolf pup off of the ground by the scruff of his neck shoving him down her jacket as it yipped at her excitably while she set off. Lilianna stood at least a head taller then Uma, but despite the leather and partial plate she wore, the large shield at her back and the hatchet that hung at her waist were particularly eye catching. She had the poise and grandeur of a knight in shining armor, but her choice in equipment were a bit more savage then the heroic atmosphere about her. Unlike Uma though, who might recognize her as her quest partner from quest information or menu guidance, Lilianna still didn't understand how to use the menu properly and merely cupped her hands around her mouth. "I'M LOOKING FOR MY TEAM MATE IN FINDING THIS STRANGELY IMPORTANT RING! I DON'T KNOW WHY WE'RE DOING THIS, BUT IF YOU'RE HERE, I THINK IT'S BEST IF WE WORK TOGETHER!" She shouted drawing eyes of others who were looking at a lunatic. Others might find such a situation embarrassing, but Lilianna wasn't bothered by making a scene. She was very direct in trying to make things happen as smoothly as possible.

  3. If only this VRMMO had a group finder of sorts; it was one element that was sorely lacking and like, deeply annoying to a gamer who had gotten so used to them. It would have so damn useful to have instead of hearkening back to the days of vanilla WoW.

Uma sighed, buffing her thick claw-like nails on her dark brown chest armor. Equipment and armor hadn't been too hard to find, her starting gear was a touch common in style. Still, patchwork leather armor was nothing to sneeze at, especially since she was depending on her own two h...paws to kill spawns.

Deciding she had time to kill--instead of cultists-- the silver-haired Felis made a tight fist and opened it, allowing her HUD menu to shine brightly on her avatar's hand. Planning was needed to play here, otherwise, without concrete goals, it was enough to get bored and shout one's boredom in town squares. Cooking was a mastery she needed some points on; hunting was connected here, but how ....

"I'M LOOKING FOR MY TEAM MATE IN FINDING THIS STRANGELY IMPORTANT RING! I DON'T KNOW WHY WE'RE DOING THIS, BUT IF YOU'RE HERE, I THINK IT'S BEST IF WE WORK TOGETHER!"

Effing hell. Uma could only stare at slack-jawed at shouter with her ...big puppy? An important ring....oh hells, this was her quest partner. If you couldn't beat them, then join them. Waving her arms like a pair of scissors in action, she yelled across the square. "OVER HERE BLONDIE!"

Blondie seemed the direct but effective type, so Uma decided to meet her half-way and half-jogged towards her. "Uma Kha's my handle," she waved her hand, while keeping an eye out for the over-grown pup.

  4. Lilianna waited, idly almost, the pup carried in her shirt peeping out through her collar, just below her chin, not bothered by the wait. She'd spend time patting that small wolf or the mystery egg in her bag wondering what the both of them would end up being someday. To some extent, she couldn't help a dry laugh wondering why animals seemed to keep approaching her, she didn't really have a special mastery for it or anything, she didn't really think too much when picking them to know about such a possibility either. While she was puzzled and frazzled, she'd come to quietly accept it without much resistance-- It was better then being lonely in this strange world after all.

Hearing someone call out 'blondie' though, was familiar enough of a greeting to Lilianna. She was after all blond, and during pick up games that would be how some players on the field called out to her when she was doing sports. Familiarity in a foreign world was a nice change of pace she thought as she approached Uma leisurely. Disregarding Uma's attempt at a hand shake though, Lilianna spread her arms wide to give the girl a hug, a little overly friendly maybe, but Lilianna was the warm gentle giant type in a lot of ways. "Great! It's so hard to understand the teams in this game-- you'd think everyone would have coordinated colors or something to make it easier." Lilianna sighed heavily, a bitter expression touching her face briefly. She was still treating the game like sports, thinking that everyone had a team, she was still lost on who her team was, and why they hadn't shown up to tell her what the goal was. She couldn't blame them though, everyone seemed in such a rush there was a chance they forgot right?

"So then, how does this next part work? Do we just beat them up until they give it back?... Or can we ask them nicely? I don't really understand how the points work here." She admitted, this was her first quest, she wasn't exactly sure how she was being scored or how their team would be ranked. If she could help it she didn't want to hold anyone back. IF this was in reality she'd likely have blown everyone away by now, but this was an unfamiliar place to Lilianna, one where her wife knew much more about the rules and setting then she could ever hope to in a sit down session.
