    *Truth News jingle*

Hello! Welcome to another edition of Truther News! The underground news network that works twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and three-hundred and sixty-five days a year, to bring you... THE TRUTH! Nothing but the truth! I'm Lisa Mars and this show starts.... RIGHT NOW!

    *Another jingle*
Alright, let's get right to it! Today we...

*Shuffles through papers a bit looking a bit confused*

Ah there it is... *Ahem* okay so, we will be revealing the truth on what's really going on behind the scenes in the world around you! Not too long ago you heard about that mysterious murder of Elizabeth Crowley? Boy oh boy, do we have news for you! It looks like a investigator from Japan also met a early demise! The cover up is here everyone, don't let the Illuminati win! Remember that information is power! Obviously the woman knew too much! As we had covered in a earlier broadcast... um... what did we learn? ...oh right. I've had a bit of a rough few days everyone! Been a bit scatterbrained! Alright so like I was saying.

Elizabeth Crowley was the head of a multidimensional research facility within Nexus Corp! Yes you heard that right. It's them, obviously owned by Illuminati from the beginning, they had a switch of ownership months ago and it is now owned by who is likely a replacement set up to further the nefarious schemes! Um and.... right, Elizabeth! She was a scientist but get this.. also a WITCH! How is that for truth? She was found dead shortly after being fired from the company. According to sources she had a burnt diving device melted to her face! Her body like charcoal... is this the true nature of that Terrasphere game we talked about in the summer? Maybe, according to our research she was someone who played the game! Most of this is old news of course. At least if you've been sticking with Truth.com for your news feed!

Now that the refresher is out of the way... the REAL news! Uh.... hmmm.

*One more look at her papers looking very puzzled*
Oh... there we go. Alright then! We have from a VERY respectable source information that a investigator was sent from Japan to look into the game Terasphere... but also was looking into this very same murder! Then... get this... she was found dead in her apartment building much the exact same way! We at Truth News don't have to tell you how suspicious that is! The cover up is real everyone! Interestingly, the investigators body did not vanish from the hospital as Elizabeth's did. What could that mean? We will dig even deeper to bring the truth!

The police and government are doing nothing to look into this and this brave investigator met her end fighting for TRUTH! Instead they focus on Dive Clinics! That is a false flag! Whatever is going on in Nexus Corp. It's serious! The Illuminati might be planing the ultimate end of world scenario! We need to spread the word! What's even worse is that a big reveal of some kind is coming in only two days! You know we had Truther News will be there to bring you the truth... um... yeah me as well it looks like... right?

*Makes a worried look before continuing.*
Well maybe I'll take a little vacation first. All this truth really can stress a person out! We at Truther News do everything we can to bring you the latest! Anyway... we are out of time unfortunately. Lots more news to disclose but it will have to wait for our next broadcast! This has been Lisa Mars of Truther News! See you next week! Or actually in two days at the Nexus reveal!

    *Closing jingles*

    Vivian Cruz

Vivian had turned her laptop on and went through her usual morning routine. The nearly naked woman yawned as she shuffled her feet to the bathroom as the laptop started to boot up. Her eyes were heavy with sleep deprivation and her hair was a mess. Skittering about the bathroom, the woman splashed cold water on her face causing her to cuss up a storm while she dabbed her face with a towel. Moving from the bathroom, her long slender legs moved back to the laptop and began to shuffle around on the internet. Clicking a few tabs here and there until she went to the 'dark webs' as she heard it had been called.

A latest development in one of her favorites stories had started and she turned the volume up to listen. Milling about back to the kitchen, she would start fixing herself a cup of hot coffee. Every so often she would walk back and watch the internet feed and move about her living room picking up articles of clothing and groaning because she hated to do the housework. Shuffling back to the bathroom, she started to brush her teeth and came back inside when an interesting piece of the news was heard. With toothbrush in her mouth and looking at the screen, she raised a brow and shook her head and went back to the bathroom.

With a fresh bitch face on, Vivian went back to get her coffee. She loved the bitter taste of just black coffee, couldn't stand or understand why people liked milk or sugar. With the piping hot cup in her hands, the female set the coffee down after a sip and stretched her legs out on the couch and continued to watch the news feed. She tilted her head back as the newscaster looked pretty frantic at the end of the statement until it seemed to close out.

Vivian wondered what Nexus Corp was up to. If it was the end of the world, so be it. So long as she got one last good lay in before the end of it all. Turning her head to see the time, her eyes widened. "Shit, shit shit! I'm late for work!"

  3. img Standing on the line for the Hyperloop, Langdon Harding was frustrated beyond belief. After having a tiny chat with the young lady in front of him about the fact this 'speed transit' was far from fast, he'd noticed his phone was blinking when he pulled it from his pocket.

"Crikey, why did I leave this open?"

Langdon was a fan of watching news, no matter how he got it- but it was always better, to him, if the 'anchor' was a woman. He'd always been a bit of a womanizer, and to top it off, he'd been raised to think of knowledge as a perfect power. Despite this, he'd spent many a year when watching news being interrupted by family members even at work... Leaving him with a bad habit of speaking as he watched to explain to no one in particular his thoughts.

"Even murder is interesting when a lady gives the news... Though this one's rather gormless. Don't see why she's acting like this is new for her. Seemed just as scattered last time...Even gormless, the news becomes more interesting though. So long as she can tell it at all, I'm happy."

His words were a mixture of his clear British heritage and his bitter thoughts. If asked, he wouldn't deny he was a notable codger, as grim as he could get many days just because he was tired of being treated like he had to care about society as a whole.

To him, the chaos of the news was a fun part of the day. Murder was more than entertaining to his dark mind, as he pondered what it was like for both the suspect and the killed. Still, he heard her mention Terrasphere- and this wasn't a first for the underground news facet. I don't see what they'd be investigating it for. It's a bloody good game. Inane, but bloody good... How does it leave them wanting to kill people that know it, anyhow? Truth perhaps, or just nonsense. I'd like to see their sources the next time... And maybe more of the lady, while we're at it.

  4. img Finally finding it break time from her back to back classes that day, Kelly found herself in a study hall, resting her back against a wooden chair and her head leaning as far as it could, neck straining as she stared at the ceiling. "I have another class in ten minutes so I'm waiting here, but... Ugh, so bored..."

Glancing around and seeing the sparse classmates on their phones, she opted to take her own out as well. I really need to thank Kai for this... She giggled, remembering her 'older brother', as she called him- her best friend's brother really did spoil her, as did both their families, especially as of late.

"Aylen would kill me if she knew I watched it anyway..." She mused, turning her smartphone into a video player for the time being. She put in some earbuds so she wouldn't bother her classmates before turning on Truth News, an underground possibly-conspiracy-related source of information, and one that frequently mentioned her favorite pastime of the year. Any Terra news going on...?

It mentioned murder and mayhem, death and conspiracy about a major company and the game she'd found too much to love from it to not adore. There's no way people died because of Terra. Nexus Corp's kind of sketchy too as a reason to die, but... I mean, I did see the murders on the news... It's not all false, so there's definitely some truth to the name. And considering what a secret Terrasphere was when I started... Should I really be surprised it became a conspiracy theory? If anything, I should be more surprised it wasn't sooner...

A clack of feet and a slap on the desk in the front of the lecture hall told her it was time to put her phone away. With a sigh, she left the thoughts to wander in her head as she took out her notebook and readied herself for knowledge. Though death was half the subject of the class, she could only wonder why they weren't learning about murder, such as these, as well...

  5. img She sat at her desk with a deep sigh, staring idly at a blank document of her word processor, a single line showing the title of her projecta and nothing more. Writing the byline out, she found herself tired already from the work of starting a new manuscript, head drooping into one of her hands. "I can't even think of a starting sentence... My mind's such a mess lately..."

For fun, she opened her web browser. An email that missed her spam box had told her about an unusual news program on a lucrative site, but the title had caught her attention and her virus scan had shown it safe. "Truth News... Not sure how much is true, but I don't really care. The name calls to me enough... still wanna know how I got on the mailing list, though."

While she waited for the site to load, Jaluna stood up and got some more tea to drink- a premade iced green tea she'd gotten on sale, happily stored in abundance her fridge- and a pack of cookies out of her cabinet. There was a slight hiccup in her internet earlier in the day, so she figured she had time for a snack while it was setting up. To her surprise, the sound of the familiar voice of Lisa Mars on the somewhat low volume of her laptop.

"It starts with murder just like the regular eleven o'clock news on channel two. So much for a 'pleasant' snack break." She mumbled.

Returning to her desk, she sat with her bottle of iced tea and a box of chocolate filled wafers, leaning back and watching the face of the peppy newswoman. Even if she was happily taken already, at least in her mind, Jaluna still could admit when a girl was cute.

"Wish I had some of her energy... Even when she talks about dark things, she's smiling. I wonder if I can help her feel better about being a bit out of it by telling her how long I've been staring at my manuscript." With a small laugh, she smiled meagerly- her lips curling down as Terrasphere came up as a possible reason for the death. "Why would they be looking into... I guess it kind of makes sense, since it's considered quasi illegal, but..."

A sip of tea, a bite of a cookie, and she was turning off the program when it said it was over. "In two days they'll be doing something on the Nexus reveal, huh? That'll be interesting..." Moving to close the tab, she stalled and began looking around the site some more. If I could email her, I'd be happy to tell her to relax. She's working hard to spread information. She looks like she could use a rest... A poem might at least make her smile, wouldn't it?

Glad her focus moved, she opened a notepad document. "Yep, I'm writing a poem instead. It's already coming to me, too. Lisa Mars, you're now my muse. I really do have to thank you."

    Ursula Heidrich

Ursula had ignored enough of her automatic reminders that even she knew it would be significantly more than unhealthy and reckless to ignore another. As much as she wanted to shut out the outside world and escape in her fantasy bubble, she also didn't want to become what her extended family thought she would. A news story about a gamer who died from letting themselves ignore their meat-space form until it wasted away in a chair. Not only would that be incredibly undignified, but also it would leave poor Alex with a story never to be finished.

While she left her rig behind and began to take care of a number of pressing biological needs like hydration, nourishment, hygiene, and other needs, Ursula glued herself to her phone. Deleting the repeat messages from friends and family about not hearing from her lately and only responding to the most recent message from each contact. Most of the messages were the usual complaints and she gave them the usual apologies and tried to come up with something interesting to say about her life in America so far that didn't revolve around hiding and Terrasphere, which resulted in a lot of messages about nice weather and the beach being pretty. Ursula assumed these were true because they had been when she got the fateful envelope. She hadn't really checked again since then.

One of the messages stood out from the others however. An e-mail from a friend in Germany who had been a gamer too. "Why would Annika send me this?" Ursula asked outloud, almost surprised to hear the sound of her own voice. Annika used to message and game with her a lot before falling off the radar after Ursula had moved. She'd thought maybe she was playing Terrasphere too, and had been meaning to reach out and see if they wanted to meet up ICly in game.

The message itself simply said "Something you should see." Strangely the message was in English, not German. Below the message was a strange link that required some of Ursula's more questionable applications to open, and it took her to a strange little "news" site.

The video was almost endearing in the dottering way the caster fumbled her way through the story. Every time the world Illuminati came up Ursula rolled her eyes involuntarily. She had never pegged Annika for a conspiracy theorist, and what was this about someone being a witch? Was this some kind of joke? It was hard to understand and although she had a pretty good handle on the English language, Ursula wondered if perhaps she did not quite get the American sensibilities involved. But then it should have made even less sense to Annika...

Still, a newstory about Terrasphere even a small one seemed worrisome. Not just because it was about mysterious deaths linked to her new favorite obsession, but because it also meant there might be more attention brought to the secretive game that had already been outlawed. It was being judged unfairly just like how long ago GTA was blamed for violence in kids. The only way to keep the witch hunt from getting worse might be to find the answers to these puzzles before someone else did.

Ursula took a long look at her rig. Alex was sleeping now, there would be a few more hours before she should wake up. Maybe Ursula would get less sleep than her alternate life for once, and make do with caffeine instead. It had been a while since her fingers graced a proper keyboard, but she was sure her skills were still sharp.

With a sigh Ursula headed to the coffee maker. She had work to do.

    Arthur MacArthur

As Arthur awoke that morning, he found his girlfriend glued to the screen of her tablet. A mortified look was plastered all over her face. It appeared that whatever she might have been reading was definitely having an effect on her.

Arthur joined her at the kitchen table, noting that she had already prepared his breakfast for him, just the way he liked it. A bowl of halved strawberries in unsweetened soy milk, fork on the right side of the bowl, napkin folded into a triangle with the hypotenuse tucked slightly under the bowl, sat before him. Truly, his darling was the dearest of angels.

As he grabbed the fork and skewered the first of the strawberries that he would eat, she slid the tablet across the table and then excused herself to take her morning shower with a light hand on his shoulder and a kiss on the forehead. He smiled after her until she had left the room and then picked up the tablet. He shoved the strawberry into his mouth and began to chew until it was shredded into a thick pulp. Then he began to read what was on the screen.

It was an article from Truth News, a rather dubious news outlet that had been known to make rather extreme and conspiratorial claims on a regular basis. They were one of the worst of the worst when it came to insignificant tabloids. However, their article that released today struck Arthur hard, causing him to prematurely swallow his second strawberry, the clumps nearly getting stuck in his throat.

For the first time in months,TerraSphere found its way back into the news. All media coverage about the game had suddenly ceased a while back, and any attempt to find archived articles on the internet ended in failure. Even users on popular and fringe forums had stopped talking openly about the game. It had been a big mystery for a time, but all that had already blown over.

He read how an employee from Nexus Corp had supposedly been a player of TerraSphere, and how she was mysteriously murdered, the murder weapon was suggested to be full-dive device that had been burned to her face. To be honest, it all seemed like it was just an accident, her death being chalked up to a freak malfunction that even the manufacturers couldn't duplicate.

But now he was reading that there was apparently more to the case. An investigator from Japan who was looking into the employee's death had turned up dead themselves, seemingly suffering the same fate as the one whose death they were looking into. It was all a bit too coincidental for Arthur to give any serious credence to. However, it seemed that the article had left a profound effect on his love.

He sat the tablet down and finished his breakfast in silence. He heard the usual sounds of his girlfriend walking from their bedroom to the front door, telling him her goodbye for the morning, and leaving to go to work. He sat at the table a little while longer, trying to understand what she could have gathered from the article.

Is she thinking that I might get hurt from playing TerraSphere? Like, actually hurt? Does she worry that I could end up like the people in these ridiculous articles?

Arthur brushed his thick, black hair back out of his face. He sighed, a million thoughts rushing through his mind as he resisted the urge to go back to bed and forget about trying to be productive today. He stood, scratched his derrière, and went and changed into one of his usual outfits.

As he walked to the door, he pulled the leather jacket up over his shoulders and put on the black sunglasses that he kept in the breast pocket. He lit a cigarillo as he exited the apartment, taking a deep inhalation before slowly blowing the smoke out of his lungs. He locked the door and clipped his keys to one of the belt loops of his pants.

It's going to be a long day. He decided. I'd better pick up some chocolates and wine before I come back home.

  8. Freya had been resting her head on the desk for God knows how long. The mini-alarm resting inside the grasp of her left hand vibrates, emitting subtle rings. Gaining consciousness, she looked at the mirror fixed on the right side of her monitor. After wiping off potential drool from the corners of her mouth, she shook the mouse to wake up her computer, revealing she had been asleep for two hours. "God, it's almost time to stream. I need to finish those papers fast." She maximized the tab of a word processor application on her left monitor and a browser on the right monitor.

Ever since she's on Terrasphere, Freya had difficulties managing the time both for streaming her gameplays and her papers for a law degree. Typing truth.com in the keyboard, she left the news stream open while getting herself a hot tea. She had been using the site for quite some time for personal research, and lately Terrasphere and Nexus corp has been the main focus. Getting back to her papers, suddenly the headline news caught the attention of the blonde. Death.. Investigation... Nexus Corp.... Terrasphere? Just imagining the circumstances of the victims' deaths made her shiver.

When you think about it, nobody really knows deep about Terrasphere. She focused back on the news. The victim was an investigator from Japan, and judging from the circumstances of her death, it seems that she dived into Terrasphere to investigate. Had Freya encountered the victim somewhere in that world? Nobody knows. The conspiracy theorists on the net screams for the government to take action, but Freya knew that even the government can do anything on this matter. Then a slip of thought appeared on her mind. Should I continue playing the shady VRMMO? What if I ended up dead like the victim on the news?

"As long as I do not pursue anything reckless..... It is going to be fine, right?" she concluded as the news headline ended. Freya decided not to overthink it and continued to work on her papers. After all, she got viewers to entertain in the next thirty minutes and a world to protect at the night.

    Eru Endilix

Eru had been restless. Having been up all night working on an essay for one of his Computer Science classes, while also trying to meet the deadlines for his work. He had to tighten up the code optimization on a home page for one of the websites that employed him. And he needed it done yesterday. He was bleary eyed, and he still had to go to work in a bit. Pulling all nighters was the worst idea, but it allowed him to get stuff done.

He had heard a noise coming from behind him though, as he spun in his chair from the distraction to see his identical twin brother watching some snippet from a web based news show. Something something conspiracy, something something murder, blah blah blah. Eru didn't really want to deal with it. He had a life to attend to while his brother lazed around on the couch. But then he heard it. The name Terrasphere. And suddenly he was interested.

Like a flash, Emerath suddenly felt awake, as he shot over to where Dael sat on the couch and started paying more attention to the general nonsense that the woman was spouting. But there were interesting tidbits here and there, not the least of which was deaths involving players of the game. Two of them, in fact. Along with some end of the world theories that immediately made him tune out again.

"Hey, Eru, isn't that the game you started playing recently?" Dael asked his brother, after he had realized that Eru had taken interest in what he was watching. Eru slowly nodded, considering the possibility of his own death. No, that would be nonsense, he told himself as he decided to go back to his work. Either that or sleep before he had to wake up for work. Whatever worked best for him in that moment. But not this nonsense. As Eru stood and went back to his desk, he said, "Turn that garbage off, and if you're going to do stuff, quit doing it in my den. I need a clear head to get this stuff done."

Dael just rolled his eyes and turned on the TV to some cartoons, as Eru groaned and closed his laptop before going to his room to catch a cat nap. And yet, as he laid down, what the woman had said kept running through his mind. Eru told himself it was all nonsense, but the deaths of players of Terrasphere might be too much to ignore. Eru told himself to be careful. And perhaps to not get too attached.

Leah rubbed at her eyes out of tiredness. God, it was just one thing after another when it came to Terrasphere, wasn't it? Though she'd supposedly spent the last few hours lying in bed, she still felt exhausted, as if she had physically fought against an invasion. Didn't help that she still somehow felt ringing in her ears. Not the best state to be trying to write an article in. And not to mention that the entire plot with the assassination and invasion just gave her even more to write about. Material was good, but she would seriously have to start cutting things out at this point or she would end up with a book rather than an article.

Ugh. She got up from her desk and decided to take a bit of a break. Scrolling through her phone, Leah was suddenly distracted by a message from an acquaintance, specifically mentioning her. Huh. Looked like the freelance journalist group that she joined was getting active. She wondered why.

hey Leah P. and Roy R. T. youre writing abt the vr game right? look at this
    http://truthernewstranscripts.blogspot.com/archive/11...
saw it last night, thought you two would be interested

Huh. Leah fired back a quick thanks and went to check it out.

...Okay. Well. That was something. Leah had read through the entire transcript with a dubious eyebrow raised. Because whatever this Truther News was, Leah very much doubted that it was reliable. Or, even if it was legitimate, most of the thing had to be embellishment. The Illuminati? Seriously?

Nexus Corp was a name that she had been hearing a lot lately, though. It could be worth looking into them, at the very least. With that Truther News article banished to the back of her mind for the time being, Leah prepared herself for a good research session.

  11. img A few days has passed ever since the Astorea siege, Armand spent the rest of the week returning back to his work as a history professor without going back into Terrasphere. It was really necessary because not only the events caused him to grow mentally exhausted from what he had been through, but that Thanksgiving was almost here and he didn't want to waste his time on the game in order to prepare for his reunion with his parents and his extended family.

However, that doesn't mean he can search anything related to the game through the internet through the Zero Channel. Ever since the Terrasphere commercial, he started on being updated any kind of news related to it and after he got the address to the private site, he searched around for any new news until he saw something interesting. It seemed to be unrelated to the game, but it the link to the news article seemed to have high hits so far.

But once he clicked on the link, he was shocked to see what he watched. It was about that crazy woman from Nexus Corp who was found dead while wearing the VR equipment, which it was all over the news before he had Terrasphere. But he didn't expect that an investigator in that case also died with the same fate as Elizabeth. What was even more terrifying that she was playing Terrasphere as well. This was enough to make him worry about the game itself and its mysterious origins revolving about its creation.

    "Professor? Are you still busy?"

The voice from his colleague quickly shook him back to reality, which he quickly closed the internet browser containing both the Truth News article and Zero Channel itself. While he was using his laptop, he did use the browser's incognito mode so most of his Terrasphere-related searches won't be in his internet browser history. The game might be known in public, but he rather not took the chance to let them know that he was one of the players.

"N-No... I'm not. What is it?" He actually finished most of the paperwork and the preparations for his last lecture before Thanksgiving, so it was not an actual lie. He preferred to try to finish them before he can do any VR-related searches anyway.

"I was hoping I can borrow some of the paper from your printer! I need to finish copies of the handouts and I really need to finish them before tonight!" Well, at least it wasn't a serious request regarding the news. Either way, he had a bad feeling in the coming days. But for now, all he needed to worry about was the Thanksgiving itself or how many papers he has left in his printer.

"A-Alright. I might have some right here..."

    Well.

It did not escape Harry's belief that all this might be a cleverly crafted strategy to pull attention to the game. Nothing sparked heated debate and argument in a community more than doubt and vagueness. The people at the Terrasphere sub-reddit, if it exists, will be going ape about stuff like this.

Harry found himself in yet another pointless internet trawl, and yet again found Terrasphere in his face. Not that it was particularly shocking - the game had a cult following in the underground, and it was only natural that Harry would be exposed to it a handful of times.

Maybe it's an ARG, something to enhance the mystique of the game. But still...

Burned VR devices sound painful...and lethal. And death was no laughing matter. There was too much controversy around this game...and around Nexus Corp, whatever they were doing. Things like dealing with the Fortune 500 he left to the rest of his family - Harry had been in a (mistaken) assumption that he was bad at money anyways.

Still, after reading this, he began another internet trawl. A bit more specific now...

    Totally safe VR devices...
    Terrasphere death...
    Investigator death...
    Japan...

The Game was yet to arrive in jolly old England, but if it ever did...
The terrifying part was that he couldn't decide what he'd do.
