  1. As per usual, Brisshal seemed to be unnaturally noisy with all sorts of wandering adventurers. What was it about Brisshal that attracted so many people? Outside of the various flora that she went around to collect every so often, she hadn't found anything really remarkable about the place. Yet there always seemed to be an abundance of new people who just looked sort of... lost. Some of them would strike up a conversation or three with her, and she would gladly entertain them for a few minutes but quite a few of them would just speak about inane nonsense. With those people, she tended to pretend to understand then make her excuses and leave.

It was rare for her to be exploring the place during the day, evenings usually let her go undisturbed. A couple of the times, she would meet some adventurers while heading back from a late night out. They always seemed to know where they were going and sometimes she would lose her way, and with it being so dark, she couldn't read her map either. Making her way around after some collection, she would spy a person trudging along the road. There was just something about some of the adventurers she met that had a different air to them, those types usually had their bearings, navigationally speaking. She would catch up to them, as silently as she could to not disturb any sleeping animals, then tap them on the shoulder only to be greeted with a swinging blade and a loud scream. The nerve of some people, so free in their usage of a dangerous weapon.

Despite all of the oddity she faced, she always made her way back here every so often. The abundance of natural reagents made it an excellent place to restock, even if things got a touch too hectic at times. There were a surprising amount of aggressive chickens around, she wasn't exactly sure where they came from or why they were so riled up. It didn't feel like the work of a magical artifact or spell. Maybe they were just disgruntled and rebelling against their owners, or were plotting to overthrow the kingdom. She couldn't tell but they tended to stay out of her way as long as she didn't get too close. Come to think of it, why was she still here? She gotten her fill of alchemical supplies quite some time ago.

She was just about to stop her explorations and head to the nearest village when she heard a voice call out. 'Is anyone here?' Well, what a silly question. Wherever the speaker was, unless they were in a group, there would only be one person there. The person did sound semi distressed however, and no one else answered, so Aerana decided to reply to the question. As these parts of the woods seemed to be a touch quieter than usual, she only raised her voice slightly.

"I do believe you are the only one over there, unless you have a mute companion."

  2. With each mindless flail of their much shorter limbs, Talos found themselves dancing amid the trees of a sparse forest collection. There was something magical about virtual realities that drew the nonbinary into the depths of each fantastical region. The selection of races was oh so very fascinating, even if people couldn't select to be agender. Nonbinary. Whatever the government called them these days.

Their crimson hair fell all the way to their ankles, a part of Talos' pride and joy. It whipped around their body, getting into their mouth and clinging tightly to certain parts of them as they moved around the trees. Admittedly, with their three-foot height difference from their own tall form outside the game, it was quite disorienting. Still, they loved the dance. They loved the freedom moving erratically gave them.

Green eyes dulled in thought as they wove around the trees, still taking care to be aware of their surroundings. As far as they knew, there could be enemies around here, lurking in the branches. The sky. Underneath the ground. In the trees. In the grass. Everywhere. A brief smile overtook their face, before it became once more distantly taut. Seemingly unaware. Each movement of their arm had a purpose, weaving around in an effort to memorize the surroundings.

Up and over that branch there, duck and whirl underneath that tree, before spinning around and gently whisking a leaf off of that bush over there. They were an endless whirlwind, a vortex of casual dancing. The more they danced, the more they became aware of the small, slender body. Despite their love of their blood-red hair, they loved moving too much to be fully aware of the tangles and snags it was gaining.

Whipping around the trees, hanging upside down... the random movements all had a purpose. Previously dulled green eyes sharpened to an almost toxic appearance, flicking around to observe the surroundings. Perceiving their next direction into where they could move. Talos tilted their head slightly, pausing in their movements to stare absently in one direction. There was a road back where they had come from. A dirt road that led to somewhere.

They could take it and go with the wind, dance along the tree's and weave among the bushes. Those who would see the dancing 'man' would probably think Talos a crazy nut who had fallen out of the sky somewhere. Perhaps they really did fall from the sky, but they just didn't care. All they had to do now was go down that road to see where it led. Maybe there was an information sign at the end of it, a town? Somewhere.

  3. Vina hummed as she looked over the character she was creating one last time, admiring its appearance. It looked nearly identical to herself, but her interest was in the parts which differed. Two long, pointy ears instead of the human ears she had been blessed with on birth, and the long, elegant tail covered in the same white fur as the ears. The hardest choice for her in character creation had been to choose between Felis and Yladian. The forest elves looked really appealing to her, with their lore of being close to nature and having tight bonds with one another. She also thought the ears looked very elegant. She had never bothered to try making her character's appearance much different from her own, but she had spent several minutes just considering which race to pick.

Eventually, however, she had decided to go with Felis, because as elegant and interesting as the Yladian were she couldn't deny that the Felis were just incredibly cute. That, and she thought that if the opportunity came along to experience life with a tail she would regret it afterwards if she didn't take that opportunity. Of course life in this world wasn't the same as life on Earth, but the same principle still applied. So she had chosen the Felis race, and after that spent several minutes getting the Felis traits perfect. She had amused herself with the thought that with how she had made her ears so long she could just pull them back and pretend they were unusually hairy Yladian ears nonetheless. It wouldn't actually fool anyone, but it'd be funny anyway.

The tail had taken most of her time, as she made it as long as she thought she could get away with without it just becoming ridiculous. Of course since Vina was known in real life for walking around with hair which reached all the way to the ground if she didn't braid it her definition of too long might not exactly coincide with that of most people, but it was her character so her decision. She also made the tail very fluffy, since there was really no reason not to. If you were going to have a tail, you might as well make it fluffy. She also discovered that you could alter the teeth of your character, and after some tries and resets she decided to give the character sharp canines just because. It looked cute, and as a cat person she should have cute little fangs, right? After considering it for a bit she decided against giving her character the facial markings which apparently were available to Felis. They were also cute, but after trying it out she decided that it didn't really suit her appearance... If she ever wanted those facial markings she could just get a cosmetic item. The game would have cosmetic items, right?

During her final inspection she had to admit that all her messing with the tail and ears had resulted in her character looking as much a foxgirl as a catgirl. The lack of facial markings probably didn't help... Well, that shouldn't be an issue. Appearances aside she would still be a Felis. Now it was time for her to actually experience the game with her new virtual ability. She had already decided on her masteries, so with her obsessing over the aesthetics of her character finished she could finish character creation.

When she opened the menu and pressed finish the empty area in which she had designed her character was filled with light, Vina almost instinctively covering her eyes before realizing that a) the light somehow wasn't actually blinding, b) she didn't have eyes, and c) she didn't have hands. For a moment she felt like she was just a consciousness without a body, a strange and somewhat scary but also exhilarating experience. Then she regained her body, or at least the body she would be using in Terrasphere. The white light that surrounded her turned into numerous vibrant colours before dispersing, and Vina found herself located an inch or two above the ground. For a moment she seemed to defy gravity before she landed, the girl holding her arms out to keep herself from falling over as she managed to remain solidly on her feet.

Her hair swirled around her as the breeze picked it up, Vina brushing it out of her face as she looked around at the world around her. She had spawned on top of a small hill, which gave her a fantastic view of her surroundings. To the left, front and back there were plains, and to the right there was a forest. It was a wonderful view, and Vina got the desire to make a painting or drawing of it once she logged out. She could also see a river, and the landscape was dotted with various creatures, from wolves to... chickens? Vina was pretty sure that wasn't normal. Then again, usually animals didn't just loiter like that, so she should probably just extend her suspension of disbelief. Besides, there were much more important things to do than worry! She had arrived in Terrasphere! There were all kinds of interesting things to see and people to meet!

Her tail wagged happily behind her as she gazed upon the landscape in awe, spending several minutes doing nothing but stare until she heard some faint voice from the forest to the right. Staring towards the forest she waited until she heard another voice, until her curiosity made her go to find the source. As she walked down the hill she stumbled a bit because of her tail, but found that as long as she kept it close to her body it wasn't too bad. She'd get to controlling it fully later, for now she just needed to be able to walk without falling over as she made her way into the forest, blue eyes looking around for the two people she had heard. Were they other new players, or had she just happened to stumble upon some people who had reason to be in the forest by pure coincidence? The only way to find out was to go and ask.

  4. Emerath snapped into the game, having logged into Terrasphere. He had spent little time working on his avatar, with it being a basic representation of himself in the game. Visuals had never been super important to him in these types of games, and thankfully this was one of the VRMMOs that just allowed for a simple recognition of his own physical form realized in the game. Absentmindedly, his fingers reached for the bridge of his nose as he attempted to push up glasses that didn't exist there in this world. He cursed inwardly as he remembered that he hadn't customized glasses for himself, wanting to look more normal and less like a nerd. It would be a tough habit to break.

As he looked around, he had found himself in a forest, seemingly disconnected from a main hub. As he glanced around, it didn't appear that it was very populated, if at all, in this particular neck of the woods. Remembering the basic instructions on the game, Emerath balled up his fist in front of him, and then opened it to reveal a menu stemming from his palm. He dialed through the panels, reviewing his stats and inventory, and all that fancy jazz. But if he was being honest with himself, it was all just boring nonsense. He was a beginner, and looking through menus wasn't about to change that.

After standing around for a moment in awe of, well, nature, he had decided it best to get the show on the road. He looked to the ground, seeing many footsteps in the dirt leading down a well trod pathway leading to what Emerath could only presume was a community hub. DIdn't make much sense to strand players in a random forest without a place to go, right? Emerath nodded to nobody in particular as he confirmed his own advice to himself, before walking onwards.

As he walked, the light shone through the trees, casting eerie shadows. Emerath couldn't really place what he thought of the scent of the area. It was simply... green. Something Emerath certainly wasn't used to living in the Big Apple. The only trees he ever saw were in parks, and those always seemed to have their smells overwritten by well... everything else in the city. Food, cars, people, you name it.

It mattered little though, as what really got to Emerath were the sounds. Rustling through the foliage was near constant, as if something were lurking and following him. At this thought, Emerath picked up his pace, wanting to get to the other players of the game before he found himself food for some beast.

It wasn't until he found himself reaching the edge of the forest, known particularly by its door like opening through some trees and what felt like a light at the end of the tunnel that the rustling began to become more frantic. And that was about when Emerath started to panic. He didn't know what it was, but he also didn't want to find out, as his feet carried him forward and next thing he knew he was running for the forest exit. Man oh man he hoped it was to safety and not something worse.

As he reached the exit, breathing heavily, he stopped as he realized that the rustling had stopped. It was now eerily quiet. He couldn't imagine that he had managed to completely outrun the creature, not in such a short span. And just as he had this thought, it was confirmed by a creature jumping out of the brush. It was... a chicken. Emerath stared at the chicken incredulously for a moment, before letting out a nervous chuckle. "Oh, hello then," he said to the chicken, who just cocked its head and stared. Emerath waved and then turned with a, "Just a chicken. How silly I am."

But the chicken had other plans, as Emerath walked forward through the exit of the forest and out into a small village. The creature came directly up behind Emerath and pecked him square in the butt, prompting Emerath to give a surprised squeal and then whirl back around at the creature, which just stared again. "Ow," Emerath told the chicken in a stern tone, and the chicken gave a light bawk at him. "Yes, ow. Now go away," Emerath confirmed, before shooing the chicken with his hands and resuming back down the path. This time, the chicken did little to bother him, but Emerath continuously kept watching over his shoulder to be sure as he entered a village that appeared to go by the name of Honeyhome.

  5. Rodger blinked a few times as his eyes adjusted to his surroundings. He found himself staring at a dirt path before turning around once to take in all that the game had to offer. Luscious greenery, birds and insects flying about, he even heard the knocking of a woodpecker as it tried to pierce the bark of one of the many, many trees. He could see why people were so enamored with this game by just the atmosphere alone. It truly felt as though he were transported into another world. It wasn't until he flexed his hand to test the menu that he was one hundred percent sure that he wasn't actually dreaming.

He checked his inventory and found his bow already equipped. 'How the heck do I get it? Is it already on my person?'

Rodger reached behind him and felt his fingers brush along something hard and smooth. It was also then that he discovered that he was wearing a backpack. Removing the straps, he set the pack down and took a look at what he had.

Save for a quiver, some arrows, and a wooden bow, there was nothing else on or in the pack. Taking the weapon into his hands he looked it over. The bow didn't seem like anything special, heck it actually looked pretty worn but he assumed it would be useful until he could afford a better one. The bowman tried and failed three times to notch an arrow, but on the fourth time he got it down, shakily pulling back the projectile before he felt his arm being guided by some invisible force almost locking him into position, 'There must be a system setting to help with combat. I'll have to look more into that.'

Rodger released the arrow and to his annoyance it sailed past the intended target which in this case was a tree. He frowned but decided to check the interface before he started randomly firing off all his ammo. His inventory didn't seem to track arrows, and when he looked at the quiver it seemed full as ever. 'Is it infinite?' He promised himself to keep an eye on his arrows just in case it was something he needed to track in real time.

Looking over his character, Rodger found that he was wearing some pretty plain clothing. An emerald green long-sleeved shirt with only three buttons down the front, a pair of earthly brown trousers, a similarly colored vest that looked to be made of leather, and a pair of black shoes to tie it all together. His hair was in dreads and his height seemed about right, so he assumed that the character creation worked as intended.

As he strapped his pack back onto his shoulders, Rodger spotted a rabbit staring at him curiously. He was shocked, it looked like a real rabbit, from the brown fur to the realistic shimmer of its eyes when it turned to flee. Before he could give chase, his eyes found a sign nailed to a tree reading: Honeyhome Village --->

His first crossroads. Did he hunt the rabbit and maybe some other woodland creatures should he come across them, or head to town for information and maybe some advice from other players? It didn't take him long to decide. Soon he was off in the last direction he saw the rabbit, bow hanging loosely from his hand.

  6. As Kieran had fully dived into a VR world that he knew nothing about except from a referral by a friend in the RPG world that he had not heard from for months, he thought about how beautiful was the game play here that that friend would message him about this game. Maybe he had been diving here the whole time Kieran had to hear about him, and was entranced by this world so much that when he saw fit, he sent Kieran a message with the e-mail that he received containing the client, so that Kieran would also feel the excitement he felt. Well unbeknownst to that friend, Kieran was definitely stoked. He had been waiting for another VRMMO for months, the last one he was in being closed for no apparent reason. And so whenever there are news about a new VRMMO that would pop in, he would tune in for updates, but alas, none of them materialized into something that could be played, and so, when this friend messaged him about the VRMMORPG named Terrasphere, Kieran became excited. Although the first thing he should know before entering the VR world was that if it was safe to enter, Kieran thought that that person made it out to inform him anyway, so therefore it was definitely safe. And he would find out soon enough how to play the game, and so he wore the VR headpiece and downloaded the client. And then, the familiar VR world entered his brain again.

Of course the first thing that he did was enter the username that he would use. Kieran fell upon the choice of Bradwynne Lambert in honor of his parents, as he did in previous VRMMOs he had played. Then he set upon creating his character. Kieran then had a ready intimation on what the character should look like. Blond hair tied into a long ponytail, amber eyes, tall stature of 5'11", slender but athletic build. The rest he filled up with the details on his own body. The resulting character therefore, became as if Kieran became 19 years old. He then was given a list of masteries that he could take up. Many of them interested Kieran, but as he saw the number he could take up for starters, he became disillusioned. How would his desired build fit in only three masteries? He then thought on what he should take up first. Maybe the number of masteries would increase as he would level up, and so he should just take up the core that would be the nucleus of the build. He was always interested with assassins, ninjas and the like, and he always played as those classes in his former RPGs. Of course he picked first Slash for his main weaponry, and Body Combat to enable striking and grappling, as those were the main staples of assassins and ninjas he had always watched before. As for the magic that was always needed for the build, he then scanned what does each magic do. After a lot of deliberation, he chose Arcanamancy because of the ability of their users to do a short teleportation, which was also one of the main staples of assassins and ninjas. He then chose his starting weapon and armor. His no-brainer choice fell upon a scimitar, and then decided on medium armor to offer good protection without sacrificing mobility. Everything completed, he then entered the game itself. As he was entering the game, his eyes were then shrouded in darkness.

As he was now directed to open his eyes, he opened them, and saw a breath-taking landscape. Kieran... err Bradwynne then thought that the friend's suggestion was right on the money as he marveled at the graphics of the game never before he had witnessed. As he saw all of the trees around him, and the animals that were roaming around and passing by him, he thought that he was in a forest or something. As he saw all the animals around him, his mind then shouted something...

    WHERE. IS. THE. TUTORIAL.

He was sure that since he only received the client containing the game, the tutorial, then, was in the game itself. Little that he knew that he would plunge into the game without anything to help him. The only thing he knew was how to summon the menu. But, as he navigated the menu earlier, he only saw game commands and no tutorials. So maybe it meant...

"Oh great, maybe I should learn all of this by myself," he muttered with a voice resembling a famous pop idol from the early part of the millennium, which surprised him. Sure his vocal chords were good as he was a part of a choir back in his school (every student in his school was a member of the choir, for the matter), but he never thought his voice was that good now that he was in the VR world. He then drew out the scimitar from its sheath at his left waist, and then slashed it diagonally. He noticed the motion he did was more fluid than those in the former VR games he played. He then set his mind on what he had formerly watched in the movies or TV. He then tried to perform those actions with the virtual body, but as he swung his weapon, he felt that his movements were too awkward.

"Maybe I should practice a bit more," he then said as he exhaled deeply, when he heard a low grunt. He searched for the source of the sound until he saw at the front of him, a wolf with a wound in its face. Looking at his scimitar after the motion he made, it seemed that he slashed at the wolf causing the wound. And now it was growling angrily at him. Now, Bradwynne thought, might be the unluckiest day of the year. He was stuck without any tutorial and he had to fight off a wolf, which was one of the most dangerous animals in real life. But, as he thought, he would need to fight off creatures like this in order for him to get an amount of gold and mastery, right? And he would encounter things like this sooner or later, it just so happened that it was too soon. And he had been always doing this in his former VRMMOs right? So what is the matter? Fueled by these thoughts, he mustered all of his courage to fight off this wolf, which started the battle by pouncing on him.

Bradwynne retaliated on this initial motion of the wolf by slashing towards the direction of the wolf at the front, to the left. The slash connected to the outstretched mouth of the wolf, almost separating its mouth. While the wolf was still gaping from the wound at the mouth, he then slashed downwards towards the body, which cleaved it in twain. But before dying, the wolf uttered a howl, the result of which, more eyes came popping around him. Bradwynne was pleased that he had learned the basics all by himself, maybe he would learn about magic some other time. But he became alarmed by the number of eyes sharply gazing around him, around twenty pairs it seems. Sure he can handle a wolf by himself, but it is another matter when a whole pack set its eyes on him. The only way that he could outrun them well enough was to attack at one direction, dispatch anything there, and then run towards that direction, hoping that after a while he can fight them one by one.

He then burst out towards one side, when he encountered a single wolf on his way. He then slashed it towards the front as the wolf jumped on him, fortunately the slash connected and the wolf became stunned due to the wound that he created. Bradwynne took advantage of it and ran away, searching for something or someone that should be of help to him.

"HEEEELP! I AM BEING CHASED BY WOLVES! HEEEEELP!"

  7. Julius spawned in, facing a breath taking view of the ocean. He was in awe.

But the awe didn't last long enough to distract him. He quickly checked over his basic gear; he was playing as a character he'd frequently roleplayed in his youth, after all. He was armored from head to toe in basic heavy armor; it possessed a black quality to it, which fit the way he viewed Julius.

Closing his hand and opening it, he noticed the lack of a tutorial. "So, I guess it's sort of up to us to figure out how to play, huh?" He said, already knowing the concept of swordsmanship and knighthood.

He drew his sword, if only to inspect it. "An arming sword, eh? Now that you mention it, I wonder what sort of clothes it dressed me in..." He unequipped most everything, only bothering to inspect it. Basic armor.

Scoffing, he put his armor back on. Trash was trash, and there wasn't a way around that. His character-- that was, who he was, now, had always been among the best weapons forgers in the land. Now... he wasn't sure who that was. He had seen the Mastery, so someone should have taken it, but he wasn't interested in those things at the moment.

He practiced a couple of swings with his sword. Of course, he'd need something to practice on, but it felt good being in control right now. Better than spending hours in a blank room, at least, attempting to create such a detailed face that he wasn't sure if he'd gone too overkill or not.

    ...

After a period of searching, he had come across several slimes. They appeared kind of like Slimes in Dragon Quest, having very rotund bodies. They appeared in usual Dragon Quest colors, which was a relief to him.

He stepped forward, blade in hand. Now... Uh. How was he going to do this? He had seen a number of tutorials on swordplay in reality; the question was if this world, Terrasphere, operated under many of the same parameters as reality. He had noticed a series of options when he was close to creating his character, both of them relating to combat. It seemed this world had 'skills' with which to operate under... Only, his Mastery for both Swords and Shields was at -- wait for it -- a whopping zero.

The other option was for pain. Knowing he didn't exactly have the mental fortitude for something like dragons, centaurs, and elves all tearing into him, he had set it to reduce pain. That, coupled with his Masteries of Shield and Guard, would hopefully enhance his viability of tanking.

Either way, it was time to fight. He breathed steadily; breathing quickly meant you were fearful or exhausted. In and out. Raising his sword, he sliced the slime as though it had never been there. Which made sense; if this was a VRMMO, it wouldn't do to spawn new players against arguably some of the hardest monsters in the game.

He heard someone screaming about wolves. They were getting closer, too. Deciding it would be best to wait and see what happened, he heard screams of wolves.

"Well," he thought, "nothing like some wolves to get the blood flowing."

    @Bradwynne

  8. "Damn this, when will this ever stop?!" Bradwynne was thinking while he was still running, the wolves still chasing him around the forest. Fortunately he never ran out of breath while he was chased around; if it was the Kieran of real life running away from wolves, maybe he had tired out, maybe the wolves have caught up with him, maybe he would become their dinner. Cursing his luck Bradwynne was still running, around 20 wolves still chasing him so hard that he was never given a breather.

As he was running, he saw another person in a distant part of the forest. By the looks of his armor, it seemed that he was also a new player. But for now it was not important, for now a distraction for the wolves...err a helping hand would be useful to him, beginner or not. And from the looks of his armor it seemed that he can absorb a good amount of damage, and so can help him, a damage-type player, immensely. He saw the person effortlessly fight another creature, so he thought that although that person was a beginner, that person might have a good grasp of VRMMOs like him. And so he moved near him, but sufficiently far so that he would not be subject to the aggro of the wolves if ever he didn't want to fight yet.

He then shouted, "Help me please! These wolves are planning to turn me into a buffet dinner!" as he turned around towards the wolves chasing him. Fortunately a lone wolf was at the front of the chasing party, which jumped at Bradwynne, which tried to block with his sword, but he remembered that he did not have the Guard mastery, And so the two of them fell to the ground, the wolf biting the scimitar. Bradwynne then emerged on top of the wolf, pounding its ribcage until the wolf was not moving anymore.

    @Julius Surgate

  9. He saw the twenty wolves chasing after who he assumed was a man. "Jesus Christ," he yelled, seeing just how many there were. There were more of them than he could count! He approached a group of wolves, having already drawn his sword. There were three.

He was close enough to draw aggro on them, but he decided to stay put. He didn't want any more of them getting tangled up with him-- if only because he feared that these might actually pose a decent threat to him. He put up his shield, hoping to set some kind of barrier in between him and the wolves.

They circled him, clearly wanting to get some kind of air as to what his meat would taste like. Julius rotated in place, sword in hand, shield still up. He knew that the mobs were thinking-- hell, as much as he didn't want to admit it, this was probably the most advanced VRMMO he'd ever played. It had needs, which was something that didn't necessarily put it apart from other VRMMOs, but the way it used energy for both skills and spells was something he hadn't seen before.

Two wolves, one right in front of him and one right behind him, charged. He blocked one wolf-- but that other pounced upon him, knocking Julius down into the dirt.

This caught him off guard. His stance wasn't wide enough. He fumbled; twisting, to avoid the wolves from biting him. He caught one's jaws on his heater shield; another got sliced in two. Thinking quickly, he bashed the wolf whose jaws were caught on his shield; this sent it fumbling back. "Good," he spoke, getting off the ground. He ran towards it, bashing it over the head with his shield, before slicing the back of its neck.

He locked eyes with the last one. It hounded towards him, attempting to grab onto his arm; it failed, though, only getting a bashing for its troubles. Having slain the three, he turned to where the others were. God, who did this guy piss off so bad, anyways?

    @Bradwynne

  10. Bradwynne let the vision of the person who aided him with the wolves pass through his sight while he battled the two wolves that was trying to bite him. He seemed to be a full-fledged tank, but as he watched, he can fairly hold his own against the three wolves he was battling. He really can be a useful tank for all battles he thought, when his power would increase. But for now he had is own battle to finish, and so he turned on the wolves that he had already taken down by using their momentum to plummet them while he had the other person in his sights.

He then grabbed the wolf nearest to him and then wrung its neck so that it would be incapacitated for a good amount of time, if not killing it outright. He then picked up his sword as he focused on the second wolf which was trying to stand up. Not wasting time, he charged at the wolf, and delivered a quick slash which the wolf was never able to evade, is skull split in twain by the sword.

He rolled his eyes towards the other person, who was still doing great, being able to eliminate three wolves without any help. He was about to applaud the person for doing a great job, but then he noticed another wolf prowling on the other person's back. Well maybe he was flashy enough to get the attention of the wolves, as excellent tanks always do. With a wry smile, he then set to do what should an excellent DPS do: finish the opposition quickly so that the tank can focus on other mobs.

Kicking on the ground to gain some momentum, he rushed towards the wolf at the back of the person, meaning to pin it down. Meanwhile the wolf jumped towards the person, but Bradwynne was quicker; the sword piercing through the rib cage of the wolf. He then plunged the sword to the ground so as to stop his movement, with the pierced wolf and all; and then, pulling the sword from the ground, with a forced exhalation, plunged it to the ground again, this time piercing the eye of the wolf so as to make sure of the kill. He then said, "Whew, that was so close."

  11. Wùkōng had finally decided to give the rather shady looking game client for this new VRMMO a spin and so he found himself in his room on his bed, staring at the dive gear hardware connected to his desktop in the shelf next to the bed. After a few minutes of speculating, he decided that he would just plunge headfirst into the game and learn as he went since it could be more amusing that way. With that in mind, he put on the dive gear, lay down in a comfortable position on his bed. After that he turned on the dive gear, installed the client and then powered the whole shebang on, all the while wondering what would await him.

A few moments after, the game started up and off his mind went through that usual tunnel of rainbow colors at the same mind-numbing speed and with all the usual twists and turns. At the end of that he had ended up in a expansive, whitewashed landscape with nothing there except a terminal and a doppelganger of himself clad in nothing but basic black garments. He presumed this was the character creation phase of the game and so set about customizing the avatar to his liking. He had always enjoyed Eastern mythology and among the plethora of characters to pick from, his mind immediately went for the pre-eminent Sun Wukong, Sage-Monkey and self proclaimed Equal of Heaven. With that in mind, he added the relevant traits to make himself look as close to his ideal as he could within the game's limits. There was no simian Beastfolk, so he went with the next best option, a lion-type Felis since he would get the long tail his ideal was supposed to have at the back.

He then edited his body to look a few cuts more muscular than he actually was in real life, edited his hair to an almost milk chocolate brown color and his eyes to the blazing amber yellow that he knew the sage-monkey was supposed to have in the legends. He then edited his outfit and eventually ended up with:

After he triple checked everything to make sure all the details he wanted to have had been incorporated into his avvie (minus the gear in the image), he clicked the green "Accept" button and almost immediately thrown headlong into another mesmerizing tunnel of rainbow colors, hurtling through it at breakneck speeds till he finally materialized in the game world of this VRMMO. The game was not too kind to him since it basically made him faceplant onto the ground of whatever locale he had been sent to by the software running it. Luckily for him, he had a soft landing thanks to what felt like grass against his gaunt cheeks.

He didn't move for a few seconds and simply lay there letting his mind, senses, and everything else adjust to his new surroundings, the process taking several minutes even with his agile mind and keen reflexes. After that, he sat up, looking around at the world of the game, completely in awe of the sheer difference in scale between the detail that went into this one and the VRMMOs he had played in the past several months. After registering everything he could, he then turned his attention to his avatar and checked to see if everything had translated properly from the character creation part to the actual in-game world. Once he was done with that, he tried to stand up, but upon standing up, the extra appendage he had in the form of a tail threw him off-balance somewhat and he ended up face-planting in the grass once more, getting more visible grass stains all over.

  12. Virtual reality wasn't a new experience for the female. Her father was a bit of - no, scratch that - a major technology nerd. Dive equipment was a familiar sight to the twenty-one year old. Escaping to a different reality was, admittedly, a great way to relieve stress. News of Terrasphere had rampaged through the gaming world; a world that she resided in what she could find the time. To say news of the shiny, cutting-edge advancement in VMMORPGs had piqued her interests would be an understatement.

Unfortunately, time had not been on her side. Between studies, friends, and meddling into her families' lives to make sure everything was a-okay there hadn't been much "Shiloh" time. Things had been slowing down as of late, though. Her young sister was doing well in college, which was no real surprise, and her father was spending time doing.. something. She wasn't sure what but she could only hope he was finally actively going on dates. It was about damn time he took her advice although she was a tad bitter that he couldn't bother to tell her about any of these boos. He was going to have to be reprimanded for his actions later because that was seriously uncool.

With the world finally give her a break she immediately seized the opportunity - carpe diem! It wasn't being selfish if she took a little time to herself. It wasn't as if she was going to become completely obsessed with the game; she had the ability to control herself! Or so she hoped. Eagerly, Shiloh scoured in her messy emails for the file that had been sent to her. She really ought to tidy this up.. Nah. 1,000 unviewed emails was totally normal for any person. Plus it was easy peasy when there was a search bar function.

It didn't take long for Shiloh to download the game and proceed to hook up the required equipment. Porting into the game was a rush and the quality? Damn. Just by looking at the avatar she was supposed to custom she could tell this was going to be amazing. Never one to dwell on character customization, she didn't spent much time on her in game looks. If anything, she practically copy and pasted her real game looks with only a few adjustments.

If her dad was watching he'd be pissed. She could hear him yelling into her ears about "net etiquiette" and "getting stalked in real life". Blah, blah, blah. What he didn't know wouldn't kill him. Not to mention who would expect her to use most of her real features with just a few extra muscles and a couple added inches? Oh, not to mention the animalistic features. Her hand eagerly reached out towards the avatar and her data began to merge with the form. Here we go.

When Shiloh opened her eyes she was no longer Shiloh anymore and she definitely wasn't in Kansas New York anymore. Nemean's piercing yellow gaze flickered around to examine her realistic surroundings. Wow. The details were spot on, the rendering incredibly more intricate than the previous games she had played. Instinctively her tail began to sway back and forth to show her content which momentarily scared the crap out of her when her tail brushed against her leg. She jumped up in shock, pivoting with her shield only to find no enemy within sight. It took her a few slow moments to realize that she had just been frightened by her own damn tail.

Sensitive ears twitched as a foreign sound came from nearby. Now that she knew wasn't caused by her. Trying to figure out how to control her tail - suddenly having an extra limb was weird as hell -, she carefully began to tread in the direction of the noise. Relief flooded her when she realized there was no threat that she'd have to face right away. Instead this seemed like a typically spawning place for new players and it looked as if she wasn't the only scrub here.

A monkey-lion-human creature was laying face down in the grass. Though she tried her best to suppress it, she couldn't help but chuckle. "Stopping to smell the.. grass?" Nemean was surprised when her voice came out in an what only be described as a human purring sound. Okay, that was weird. Maybe she should have just went with the human race. That's what you get for rushing character creation. Still, there were benefits like being able to acutely smell the peaceful aromas that came with the beautiful scenery.

Gods, she was still mind boggled by the world she was currently standing in. She wanted nothing more than to investigate her surroundings but she couldn't just leave the other player after revealing herself to him. That didn't stop her from longingly eyeing a tree, wondering if the bark had to same prick as the real world when one climbed it.

  13. After what seemed like his umpteenth attempt at trying to stand upright without tripping over his own tail or having it throw him off-balance in some other way, he found himself doing a meet and greet with the grass of these plains once again. To make matters worse, it seemed as though he had been spotted in his new, vulnerable, and rather embarrassing state, the beholder apparently feminine by the sound of her voice. So he slowly and carefully righted himself and then rose up onto his bipedal Felis legs and let his tail hang loose, making sure not to swish it too much. Now that he had arisen to his full height of 6' 3", he turned his keen blazing amber gaze to the one who had addressed him, saying in his rumbling baritone but melodious voice

"Har har, very funny woman...if you must know, I have just logged in for the first time into this game and am still not accustomed to this form since I haven't played a Beastfolk race before...I presume you are fairly new as well?"

He asked with a slight head-tilt as he considered the female player before him, his eyes taking on a laser-like focus and piercing expression as he tried to glean whatever information he could about her from studying her.

  14. The first thing Kyouko felt was a breeze. The second was an unfamiliar collection of hair blowing with the wind.

Now in the game world, she already felt like a different person. Darker skin tone, exact opposite hair color, and dressed clothes she most certainly would not wear herself, she looked something akin to a gypsy. It’d taken her a few hours to decide on the theme, but after meticulously sifting through appearance options and skills, she’d made her decision.

And of course, she simply had to make a caster.

Since the advent of full dive technology, she was always on the look out for interesting things that could only be done in a virtual realm. Fighting strange beasts with weapon in hand was one thing, but flight and magic systems were where it was at for her. It was easy enough to imagine fighting a monster while LARPing or something – although that wasn’t much her cup of tea – but there were no winged humans that could fly in the real world. No ethereal energies to cast magic with, either.

Or at least, none that Kyouko was aware of. If the real world turned out to be some game world and Moses splitting the Red Sea was just him playing a game, well...that'd be as strange. She remembered a series like that. A game within a game and all that.

More importantly, however, there were no guides for the game online. And, now that she was logged in, she realized that she’d quite literally found herself in a new world. No tutorial. No big UI pop-ups telling her she automatically has a beginner quest. Not even an obvious NPC in sight.

Smiling to herself, she scanned her surroundings. From the looks of things, she was dropped seemingly in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by low hills and trees, although she could make out a road nearby that probably lead into town. She wasn’t alone, either. She could see a couple figures in the distance, although she needed to situate herself before she even thought about going and getting herself killed trying to pass some monster.

Instead she reached for the magical tools she’d selected, tugging open the pouch lying around her hip to reveal a collection of faded cards. A rush of energy passed between her and the cards, and one by one, each card flew on their own into circle around her.

Letting out a small laugh, she twisted side to side, watching as the cards followed her movements. "Okay, now this? This I dig. I wonder how you're supposed to use them..."

Pulling her arm out, she motioned as if to shuffle the cards and then throw one into the air. Lo' and behold, she found herself staring at a card that almost seemed to pulsate in air. Sparks formed in front of her hand, leading her to face a rabbit, just in case. However, the energy instead just seemed to grow, and grow, and...

    "Oh crap."

With a jolt, she felt the energy flicker before firing a tiny lightning bolt off into a random direction.

  15. The night had only just started when Ilya had entered Terrasphere Online for the first time. She had been looking forward to playing the game all day, yet she had to take part in unrelentless meetings all day. Ilya at long last internally screamed with joy when the title screen appeared. She connected as a new player, and watched as it spawned her in. The very first thing that Ilya saw was a small screen that asked her to select her gender. She had no hesitations as she clicked the pink colored female icon. The next option that it held her to was her race. Four choices... She had click each one to recieve a detailed explanation before picking the Felis. This is for Choji. After all.. Who did not like cats? Once she had confirmed that Felis was the race she wanted to pick, she was spawned into the world. The first thing she noticed was the darkness of the room before her. The walls were dark grey in color, with a single spotlight set in the center of the room. The major object of the spotlight was a block of clay. It was quite large in size. Along the left side of the clay was a table. On the table were numerous carving materials and a can of paint with a paint brush and a cup of water. Ilya's vision flashed as a new screen popped up.

Ilya read it carefully and out loud, "It is now time for you to create your new avatar. You have quite a few options, as you can either crave one out from scratch, make it look exactly like you from your real life persona, or you can randomly select one from the generator. You can also combine all three into one. Choose wisely as you cannot change your appearance in the future." Ilya grinned, Character creation. It was now time to create her avatar. Ilya walked up to the table and saw that now there were buttons. She saw the "Real Life" button and a "Random" button. Ignoring them both, she grabbed the chisel in one hand and left her other hand open. It took hours for Ilya to carve out her new avatar. (At least, in game hours). Ilya felt satisifed. She had made the ears quite soft looking. They were thing yet quite full. They matched each other and were not too low or too high. The perfect height. They were the only set of ears Ilya had made, and she was fine with that. It is what a neko is, right? The next thing Ilya worked on was (in her eyes) the more important factor. The tail. This time she made her tail nicely lengthed and quite fluffy. While her ears were soft and light haired. Her tail was soft and thick haired. Fluffy. After she was satisfied with her tail she started on her eyes. Ilya had chosen the eyes to be quite detailed and they were narrow almost, presenting a stern- like motherly gentleless to the face of her new embodiment. The height of the human was indeed shorter than she was. Yet she was fine with that. Ilya had also made the avatar in front of her have the perfect sized chest along with a nice hourglass figure, presenting the right amount of thickness in the thighs.

After having carved out her whole avatar, it was time to paint it. The single paint can held every single hex code in the entire world of the web. Ilya had to simply select one to begin painting. The paintbrush in her hand merely had to be set into the water and taken out to be completely clean and dry and ready for the next color. With a soft grin, Ilya began. At first she scrolled through the colors. What is a color that calls out that she plans on putting in effort? Upon sliding through numerous hex codes, Ilya selected the colors of red. She had determined that this would be her new hue of expression. With a dip of her brush and a flick of her wrist, she had begun to paint her avatar's hair and kitty features. It wasn't long before the system automatically filled in missed details and cleaned up her mess. Adding details making the hair and features the perfect shade and depth. Ilya was greatful to the system for this, before setting her paintbrush down. She scooped up a much thinner brush and began on the detailed eyes. Pretty soon she had moved onto the skin, and then the clothes. All in all, the creation of her avatar seemed pretty successful. The system had stepped in quite a bit as Ilya had managed to tip her paint can, slip and get a streak of white across her face and chip the fingers. Once Ilya took a step back, her avatar was flawless. She grinned before clicking the confirm button twice. Upon having confirmed her new looks, a brand new screen popped up.

The new screen was asking Ilya to select her masteries. Knowing what she had practiced in her own life, she first picked 'body combat'. Wanting to fit her other masteries around her first choice she went with 'berserk' and 'hunting'. After she confirmed the rest of the information she was spawned into the world. Her eyes were blinded at first as she was set into a field of grass. The bright light from the sun shone down on her, basking her in a bright and powerful shimmer. She closed her eyes tightly, waiting a bit before slowly opening them in incriments for the purpose of getting used to the unexpected light. After having managed to keep her eyes open all the way, Ilya's jaw dropped. She was marvelling at how real the world looked. Her feet sunk into the coolness of the grass. She eached down and felt the grass with her hands. It feels real enough... Ilya continued to explore through the grass as she lifted her eyes to the sky. It was a bright blue, with barely a cloud in sight. Definitely a sunny day. The sun was beating down, yet it wasn't too hot either. Ilya continued to look around noting the treeline of realistic trees and the gentle sound of lapsing beach waves. She stretched a bit, trying to get accustomed to the new height and feeling of the different body. The next thing Ilya did was try to find a way to open the menu. She tried tapping the air, swiping across the sky. Yet nothing seemed to work. Looking down at her right hand, she marvelled at the small hand that was before her. She simply closed it into a fist and opened it. The small movement that she had expected to do nothing was more important than she thought. A small palm menu opened where Ilya was able to view everything. Ignoring the menu for now, Ilya focused on her small need bars. She would be fine for a bit. She might as well go exploring to try and find something worthwhile. Her first thoughts had been on ignoring the starting village and heading straight for the calmest ocean. She opened up her map, and with a wide grin set upon her face and a flash of her tail, she started to head towrds Dunnstads.
