  1. New York City: Hyperloop

    img Terrasphere.

A virtual reality dreamland. A getaway from reality. THE game to play for all hipsters everywhere. In that mysterious world are many players, all experiencing things that they never had imagined possible. Learning things about themselves they never had known before. Some even became completely new people while others resisted the temptations of the game. However this is not about all that. A girl has other problems in life. Like standing in a very very very ridiculously long line...

Yeesh! What the heck was going on? The girl stood on her tiptoes trying to peer over the tall business suit wearing man standing in front of her. New York was busy a lot sure, but this reminded her of her trips with her parents to Japan! Ridiculous hurry up already! The twin tailed girl huffed as she folded her arms and burned a cold stare into the back of the man's blazer. At least she was not headed for the Academy. That would have been dreadful.

    "....Hmph."

She checked her watch, a strange thing for a girl in this era to have. However it was not just a watch but rather a enhanced one she had spent several months getting made just right. It was able to do a lot of things and she never had to touch a screen or anything. Voice control was a good thing indeed! If only she could use voice control to get these people to move it. The Hyperloop was really late today. What was this about? The Nexus Corp reveal was in just a few days so maybe they were coming into the city for that? That made sense but Chelsea did not have to like it!

    Nope, not one bit!

  2. img Langdon had come to both love and loathe the hyperloop, standing in a line longer than a country border it seemed like just to get on what he still considered a bloody train. Why he hadn't hailed a cab or gotten a car of his own was a lucrative question that egged at his mind, the irritation making his brows furrow and some early-aging of his forehead a bit more noticeable behind his bangs.

Pulling out a flask, he let out a deep sigh and took a swig of the liquor hidden in it's metallic frame. As he let the drink sting his throat, he noticed the businessman a couple people ahead of him pulling out his phone and loudly talking about his work, causing a muffled huff to leave the doctor. These people... What is wrong with Americans? Don't they have any etiquette at all?

He leaned over the girl before him, who he seemed to ignore as he tried to jab the man. "Get off your bloody phone and move up some. If you can get your work done on your stupid phone just do it there and let the rest of us get to our own lives, you pillock." The man gave him a confused glare, taking a few steps forward and continuing to rattle on the phone. Langdon merely groaned in reply, turning to the girl before him, her small stature finally catching his attention.

"Does the hyperloop always scrimshank like this?" He questioned, though he knew it hadn't done this the last time he needed to use it at all. "It's faster than a car, yet slow as molasses. Complete bollocks."

  3. img Cheslea, although irritated for sure, reminded herself that she was in fact partly at fault for having to deal with this situation. Sad but true. If she was not wandering around on hr own doing private investigations like a Jr detective wannabe. Then she could have just had a chauffeur just take her there. Her aunt was so... so boo. Chelsea had not nearly as much at her disposal anymore. Hmph, go to school to be like everyone else she said... go to the school her parents made? Chelsea knew everything she did from home schooling and getting the best educators from around the world! Oh the irony. At least the Nexus founder's daughter was not necessarily anti social or anything like that. Just that she did not see the use of it. Anything Nexus academy taught would be on her families files anyway.... yeesh.

    Sigh.

"Does the hyperloop always scrimshank like this?"

Hm? Oh great, line banter. Now she had to mingle or be seen as rude. Probably better to just be rude actually. She would aim to answer in a way that would cut the talk short quick;y... hopefully.

"I do not frequent this... thing, so I'm not a good person to inquire to about this."

Was that a harsh response? Yes probably. Chelsea really did not want to have one of these kinds of line chats. She spent far too much thinking and trying to figure out stuff to waste time with the commute routine of public transportation goers. She was not spoiled or lacking understanding. Not at all, just busy. Too busy for this most certainly!

"Faster than a car? Ordinary cars maybe. Someday that will be solved... sigh."

Chelsea wished that the development of the Nexon was going as planned. That vehicle would solve a lot of these issues that common people faced... and frankly her own as well. Of course anything Her father had planned was on indefinite hold now. That Chris person... taking over and just doing whatever he pleases with her families hard work and accomplishments. Boo, so much boo!

*Crack crack* Hyperloop to Boston is being redirected due to track work. It is currently set to be twenty-five minutes late. We are terribly sorry for this inconvenience. Thank you for choosing Hyperloop!"

Unbelievable! Wasted tax money for certain! Especially considering how much her family had to pay for it!

Chelsea resisted the urge to face palm and looked at her watch. Bored and deciding to just check a few things. The dark haired girl raised it a little so her retina could activate it. Then she push a small button on the side. A screen appeared hovering over the device. Taking out a small pair of reading glasses. She began to flip through some news articles online using the holographic screen. Hopefully Mr. Accent back there kept to himself.

Now then.... any new Nexus related murders to look into...

  4. img Looks like I've met a little me. Hates things that don't help her... I like it. Langdon grinned, laugh lines at his cheeks but lacking dimples or anything to show he was actually pleased and not just being polite. "A git, but a cute git." He knew she wouldn't likely understand, if she was like most Americans, but he didn't really care. He wasn't going to bother himself over the fact people couldn't speak proper English, in his mind.

"Faster than a car my arse." He muttered as he heard her mention the concept. He had to think for a moment, wondering why he was even going to Boston in the first place once again. His stupid boss, sending him places he didn't need to be. What kind of idiot had decided to send a New York doctor to another state just because they were learning about deep dive equipment as an older man? Sure, he was a codger, he'd admit that- but he wasn't a bloody duffer, by any means.

Moving to take his phone out again, he noticed it blinking. Crikey, why did I leave this open? Staring idly, he opened the alert from the underground news, grinning as the 'anchor' spoke, her energy filling him with a nostalgic glee.

With his eyes focused on his screen, he seemed to continue to speak- even if only to himself. It was an old habit, likely caused by his father regularly interrupting his enjoyment of the news in the past, before his move freed him from familial restraints.

"Even murder is interesting when a lady gives the news... Though this one's rather gormless. Don't see why she's acting like this is new for her. Seemed just as scattered last time...Even gormless, the news becomes more interesting though. So long as she can tell it at all, I'm happy."

  5. img Git? A what? Chelsea was pretty sure she heard that before and it meant something derogatory. She was a well cultured girl after all, from a prestigious family. Or... were prestigious anyway. Her father made it into what it was and now he was gone. Doing her best to ignore the man who was still trying to carry on a conversation with her. What was he some kind of pedo or something? She continued to look at her holographic web page.

Great. Here it was, the Truth.com channel. It was fool of malarkey most of the time. Calling her father Illuma something and stating all kinds of stupid irrelevant stuff. The normal anchor was a lady she did not find all that either. Lisa Mars. Looking at the video she noticed that the brunette was acting a bit spaced out or something. She knew these people were crazy anyway so it came to no surprise. Yeesh, the girl was going to get fired at that rate. A bit of feels went out to her but she was still really annoying to watch!

While she would consider such a news source. There was one thing she was interested in because so far it seemed accurate. The death of Elizabeth Crowley. Now it seemed that there was a new murder. A investigator from Japan. Chelsea rubbed her chin as she watched it through her reading glasses. The image of the anchor reflecting off them. Nexus... the company she was going to inherit someday. The result of her father's hard work... being brought down like this. It was gut wrenching for the teen. She tried hard to not let things bother her and have a cool face. Still certain things. especially regarding her family upset her a great deal. There was also that game. She had a USB that held the game but did not care to play it. After all why go into a VR world anyway? She wanted to make this world into a futuristic wonderland someday. Fantasy was not something she cared for. Maybe if she was really ultra bored or something... maybe... eventually.

    "...Reveal. Maybe I should attend."

The blond man behind her said something that made her quickly close her page. Was he spying or looking over her shoulder? Rude bozo! How would he like his personal...oh.

She looked back over her shoulder to see he had his phone out. So he saw it that way then. A mistake on her part. The sound of the train arriving suddenly was heard in the distance. great just a bit longer and this ridiculous line would get moving already! Chelsea took off her glasses and put them away. She would check more about this news report when she did not have a ton of people around. Like slang using blond bozos.

(OOC: If you want to close we can, or continue onto the train?)
