Ale King - Kijin vs Claire

  1. There was never a more suited activity to Thom's nihilistic lifestyle than the age-old drinking game. Kijin adopted the habitual binge drinking from his player, who spent more coin on tavern bills than he did on items. When the festival came into view and the smell of fresh hops and flavorful malts came wafting across the countryside, the wandering swordsman could not help but to answer their call.

When he saunted into the festhaus and took his place in line, he watched as several players writhed on the floor and fell from their seats in supreme, absurd drunkenness. The red-eyed man lifted a brow in amusement.

"May I?" he asked, pulling the chair out from beneath a swaying challenger, several drinks beyond his limit. The poor player slammed face first into the table as consciousness faded, and Kijin flicked his limp form over onto the floor.

The darkly dressed youth took his seat as watched eagerly as they poured out a flagon before him, the overwhelming pungence of homebrewed ale assaulting his nostrils at close range. "Not your run of the mill piss, either," he commented approvingly. "Bravo."

He watched as the opposition took her place across from him, a wry smirk etched on his features. "Ah, Lady @Claire Thalassa ," he greeted. "To your health."

He lifted the first mug, and they began.

  2. Claire didn't expect to return. She certainly had no intention of getting pissed herself, but given the short competition she had with Zelrius earlier, that was probably a lost cause by now. So, might as well embrace that competitive spirit.

She certainly wasn't intending on going overboard, though. No reason to curse herself with the worst hangover in the world when she came back to her full senses the next day. But, it was a time to celebrate and make merry. And she would be making very, very merry indeed.

Spotting another familiar face, she sat across from him with a smile. "Great to see you again," she said with a nod. "And the same to yours, sir."

Raising the first mug in a toast, she began to match him cup for cup.

After it was over, she did the same thing she had done earlier and filled a glass with water for the both of them. Drink responsibly, even when you were gulping down mug after mug in an attempt to prove you were better. No reason to go ahead and die of alcohol poisoning when it was entirely avoidable.
