    Dark Harvest Main Area

The annual fall festival has finally arrived! While the weather grows colder, the people of Falderen fight off the creeping dark of winter by reveling in the celebration of the harvest and raising spirits in a sprawling, communal fairground. It seems to have appeared almost overnight, suddenly springing up after weeks and months of background preparation. The hum of excitement in bated breaths and the rumor mills about possible attractions has reached a fever pitch at the gates where folks of all backgrounds clutch their tickets and gold. As dusk settles in, the gates are opened!

A massive square awaits you on the other side. Small booths and stalls line the edges as various merchants, craftsmen, and cooks offer up their various goods for sale. The heavy scent of food and beer clings to the air in a mouth-watering cloud. The tensions between NPCs and players is non-existent here. Race means nothing under costumes and masks and wide, laughing grins. Rivalries are turned into nothing more than a fun competition in the offered games and all worries seem secondary to the Dark Harvest itself. It feels as if the festival is a living thing and here, under the warm gaze of the gate, all are welcome.

    Activities
The food court... that could put the real world's malls to shame fills the square. Delicacies of both Falderen and foreign origins are made, though the presence of greasier foods and powerfully sweet desserts dominates the rest. A few players have even brought a modern flair to their dishes in Terrasphere and more than a few NPCs are enraptured by the flavor and preparation. Lines of picnic tables are scattered about to sit with friends and enjoy the feast.

Do your seasonal shopping... with some wondrous sales in honor of the holidays! Merchants from far and wide offer up fancy cloaks to amazing costumes to creepy trinkets. Every seller has a pitch and a story or two ready, with a fabulous discount for those with silver tongues. A stall selling masks, so heavy with the fake faces it looks ready to collapse, seems to be the most popular stop.

Attraction area... Check out this area for all the fun and attractions!

Player-ran Stalls... are very popular this year. Check out all of the attractions other players have set up in this forum. Look or click on the "Stall" prefix. Check out this guide to create your own stall.

  2. With all of the craziness he had to endure for the whole month, he was relieved that there was an event to help them breathe for a while. Not to mention that because of the events, it seemed that the game didn't have time to celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving. So it was a little lucky that they made this event as a compensation, especially that he helped out with the drinks for the Dark Harvest.

Though a new problem arose because of this, namely of a drinking contest. Just hearing a challenge of it would give them a quick refusal and a Gale Step if they were persistent. It was part of the fair, but he didn't want to make a repeat of that bar incident a year ago. This made him a little regret of even brewing the ale for the contest.

Attractions and the seemingly creepy decorations aside, he can tell how festive the fair has so far. He can't even help but to window shop the stalls full of costumes to get in the fun. His cousin did say he needed to loosen up every once and a while, especially in a mysterious online game like Terrasphere.

  3. img "My lady... this was a long journey. May we please rest?"

A handsome knight strode beside a incredibly over the top noblewoman. Her out fit was carefully considered for a festival atmosphere and it showed. Ribbons, roses, a hat that immediately said "bow before me" without actually saying it. Her long dress dragging along the ground behind her and a glass of Chateau Flanst. A umbrella in her other hand open and elegantly resting upon her shoulder.

"Your men are resting already! You are to stay by my side at all times. You are my favorite general, you should be thrilled Faulkner. Hohohoho! To get me here without having to lift a finger, simple excellence in action. That is why you are employed."

The man made a tired sigh but did feel honored that his standings with his lady were still so appreciated. He walked a pace behind her as always to show her superiority. One never walked in front of the head of House Flanst, unless their title was truly significant.

"The Titanius was pretty quiet this time. We were lucky to make it through with no casualty. My lady... I must say the festival this year is pretty impressive. Look at how many more people with the presence of Astoreans."

Priscilla shrugged as if she was indifferent to it. She took a sip of her wine and looked for something to do. This was supposed to be fun correct? Surely there was something one of her station could find enticing? Or was this land just a gathering hole for the commoners?

"I am here to find something to enjoy and pay respects to the results of the war. How dreadful that I find little to entertain me. Perhaps there is a worthy cafe here? I am connoisseur of such things... "

  4. Spooky had never been Magdalyn's scene. There had been a time when she stomached scary movies, and even pretended to like them to appease her friends. But as she grew older, she realized that her tolerance for jump scares and suspense was hovering near zero. Gore, bad acting, and silly masks, she could handle. Essentially, anything from the eighties. But creepy still was not her preference.

As such, Mags attended the faire in a costume that did not even pretend to be scary. On the contrary, she wore the flowing dress from a previous masquerade. Why not, considering she already paid for it? Besides, when she added the delicate lace mask, the ensemble passed as a costume.

In fact, she looked a bit like shadows herself, cloaked in whispy white, greys, and black. Were she to move more delicately, and strategically, she might even appear part of the festival itself. Instead, Mags beelined for the food stands. She had no one to socialize with, so why not stuff her face? The scents wafting toward her were irresistible anyway.

  5. img The maze was done and now Chelsea was once again just wandering around the festival. She was not really privy to the games lore or what the festival was for other than it was acting as both a celebration of a holiday and for the success of a war that had recently concluded. Wars for fun... with just swords and shields? Not all that fun to Chelsea. She would much rather have a war fault on the front of tech than blade. What's a plain old sword and suit of heavy old armor against a properly programmed machine? Nothing but history, that's what!

"This game really needs to discover technology. If I have the time I guess I could try and advance it somehow. I'm unsure how far my tinker mastery can take me."

She spoke softly to herself as she passed by some stands... some woman was even offering kisses! Yeesh, has she no shame? It is just a game and Chelsea could see a lot of perverts playing this for dirty reasons. She just did not expect such obvious representation of that target audience.

For now, Chelsea would just see this game as a hobby to keep her mind off of her problems. She had not seen anything even remotely resembling a Nexus logo anywhere in the game nor the creation area. Nexus Corp loved to place their logo on everything so this meant... it was not involved i? Who knew.

She had only one thing that really excited her at all about Terrasphere and it was admittingly a dirty pleasure of her own. She always wanted to develop her own combat mech armor! This world may be able to give her that dream. If she could no longer be the CEO of Nexus... maybe this was a temporary replacement. If she could accomplish it. Even to small degree... it would be fulfilling experience....

And no it was not childish or silly! Mechs and cyborgs are the best and the future!

  6. img "Mmmmm.... a festival. Neat! It's nothing like... ummm... mmm where I'm was from... maybe. I dunno."

A girl that was very likely just dressed for the holiday, surely she really did not look that odd color all the time, was passing through the festivities. Her yellow eyes scanned around her as she absentmindedly nibbled on a bandage extending from her arm. Misha was wandering around here for a while now. It was such a interesting place! Wait... why was she here again?

"...I'm hungry. If people are celebrating...mmmm...shouldn't there be... food? I hope so!"

She continued look around. Then she came to food stalls! Food stalls! Oh look how tasty it all looked! Misha's mouth was watering as she started to drool.

"Excuse me... mmm I'm ummmm... hold on what do I want? Mmmmm ooooh yes! I would like those tasty looking things!"

Misha pointed a finger at rows of Dark Harvest treats. Her voice sounded tired and breathy but she was really just hungry. The man behind the stand looked at the girl with a slight concern but decided to give her a sampler.

"Sure thing miss. You can taste one if you'd like! They are 1 gp each! For each savory morsel!"

Misha immediately began to stuff one after another into her mouth!

"HEY! Only one sweetie! You gotta pay for the rest!"

He grabbed her arm and looked at her sternly.

"What... oh mmmm I'm sorry!. They are so good... I um... want them all. I don't have any money. I'll just take them okay? Qǐng?"

The man shook his head and refused her. This was not very nice! Misha was just hungry and there was good stuff to eat. It was not like she was eating him or anything! Her stomach grumbled as she pulled her arm out of his grasp easily with a strength that made the man look quite surprised.

"MMMMmmm... You're not very nice. I ....I um... oh now I'm thirsty too. I'll be back xiānshēng, I... think.? You have any shards mmmm... yeah shards?"

The man immediately closed up shop as fast as possible and left...

    How unfriendly!

  7. Halloween and thanksgiving all rolled into one dark little festival. Well that was something to bring a little rogue out of his hiding spot. Okay so it was more that he'd been gone for so long that he needed some time to see what everyone was up too. And since he had signed in and there was a festival so fun he was going to have. He took a breath as he hid in one of the alley ways. Where was he going to got first. There was food, there were stalls to look out and possibly steal from but there were also games. Though the games didn't look like he was wanting to play any of them. He was dressed like a demon of sorts.

He emerged from the alley way fire playing in his hand because why not. It was just a small spark that he decided he was going to play with. He turned it into a ball and started tossing it between his hands and smirked to himself. He was making sure though that it wouldn't slip and hurt someone else because well that would just be bad. He made it disappear as he headed for the food fendors he had a hankering for some grub.

  8. From drinking competitions to running through a maze, the festival seemed to have it all. Everything in here excited Ilya to no extent. Back home in Boston, the festivals were widely different, as the festivals she had to attend were of more formal occasions. Here, she could go to one of the rowdy and fun festivals like she had always wanted to. Prior to arriving at the festival, Ilya had already had picked the clothing she would be wearing, it revealed quite a bit of skin, yet it was that of a majestic dancer from the festivals of pure delight. She was also on the look out for a mask to hide her face.

Ever since Ilya was little she had always wanted to wear a mask, but due to being raised a social face to the world she would only be allowed to wear masks on Halloween. Here, she could wear one at a loud and joyful festival. Upon picking out one that resembled that of the basic Japanese "cat/fox" style, she set it upon her face.

This festival seems so nice. It is a wonderful break.. Terrasphere is truly something special and close to my heart..

Without any second thoughts, Ilya began to look around the streets of the festival, stopping at various booths and partaking in various games all over the place.
