Sera looked at the three people she had just finished healing and let out a heavy sigh. Yeah, they all needed another round of healing, didn't they? At least they weren't dead, she figured. She began her chant once again, slowly starting to get tired of using the same magic over and over. She wanted to throw some fireballs, goddess damn it!

"Heals here, get your heals here," she called in a half hearted joke. Light shined from her prism, her hand, and then around her three targets in a rainbow pattern. "Yay, team. Yay, team. Don't, die. Don't, die. Protect, me. Protect, me," she spoke in a near monotone voice, though obviously one intended to mock cheerleaders.

She groaned, and energy returned to her. "Hey, fucking kill this whore already, someone!" She called out. Even if she wasn't going to be able to have the glory of finishing it off, someone had to kill the damn thing!

Felicitas watched in horror as the players that were pinned down by the spider queen's disgusting web-vomit got slammed down on by the full weight of the horrid beast. She shuddered, watching their health bars drop drastically, imagining the pain they must be in. Their prospects seemed bleak, and she frowned, fighting an urge to leave the battlefield. However devastating a death would be for her, right at the beginning of her character's growth, more devastating still would be gaining a reputation for abandoning the team, especially on such a large scale. If nothing else, remaining here would give an extra body for the spider to target, hopefully allowing more effective players to do some real damage.
Watching the wave of healing and dispelling emanating from casters from seemingly all over the battlefield was something to behold, though. As disjointed a team as they were, they still took care of each other, to a point. She grinned slightly, and rushed in closerm selecting once again her little firebolt, aiming at the bloodied queen's torso, and began her chant.
Once again, however, it fizzled. It got closer this time, she was sure of it! She shouted in frustration, drawing nearer again.

    'huh'
Troy voiced, inspired by this claim with the rather lack luster results her spell produced. Scrutinizing her target trios health, it was rather embarrassing the meager effect she had caused. If it wasn't for the animation that appeared when she cast her spell she would have claimed it failed, her targets health gauge remained disinterested with her feeble spell casting. Has to add up eventually she mumbled to herself, attempting to reassure her abilities somewhat.

Giving some consideration to thier gigantic adversary she mused if anyone someday would be able to solo against it, even though the field looked brimming with bodies with pointy weapons and shiny armor it could be a troubling fight if the spider queen spams those slut drops around herself, with Troys healing abilities she would be better off crafting coffins. Noob was the choice of words to describe her skill and abilties, cutting herself some slack and understanding with some time she would improve her abilties to be of some more use, a symbol of admiration, power and hopefully a financial raise in her real life too would be just rainbows and sunshine. thinking of real life

''Kill it already! some of us have to work in the morning!'' Troy fraustratingly heckled. ''kick its ass seabass'' guiding her hands for the motion again Troy repeatedly cast a Aoe heal at @Astor Balthas / @Ortix Farlin / @Roland Rutledge

Grabbing her dagger tightly, she found that, as she ran, she was at the underbelly of the creature. If her experience in the game taught her anything, it was that monsters don't have the strongest stomachs (especially the crabs during her hunt for that prism shard). An idea bloomed in her mind and she no longer uselessly attacked the Spider Queen's legs, look straight up and raising her arm, and weapon, up high. As she ran, the blade slid across the beast's stomach, easily slicing through the flesh and drawing blood.

Due to Alpha's height, it wasn't as deep as she'd like it to be but she knew that, at least, it managed to at least hurt the monstrosity a bit and help out everyone fighting it. The more damage she did, the faster it would be beaten. The faster it would be beaten, the less danger Nalani, Aaron, and the others were in. At seeing the injury, Terry gave out a victorious bark, excited for a success in a sea of failures. Alpha shared the smile and their previous vigor and energy was renewed.

Leon panted, taking deep, shaky breaths. Although the pain was dulled, it still hurt and the fear of seeing the beast look straight at him and pounce was simply terrifying. He had been coated in a sticky web that seemed to sap his energy straight at him, leaving his senses watered down and his body swaying in exhaustion. As he concentrated on pulling himself out of the entrapment he found himself in, Leon found himself too drained to even struggle as the Spider Queen launched herself and, with her sharp pincers, began attacking the area around.

Although he managed to dodge a fatal attack, he was left with barely any health left and the green corrosive liquid that seemed to drip out from the monstrosity dripped next to him. This wasn't looking good.

She had to admit, this was insane. How did so many acres of ancient woodland get leveled so fast without anyone really noticing it until it was too late? The lumberjacks would have a field day after this. From what little she knew about timber back in the medieval era, they were mostly under the protection of the royal family. One couldn't just cut down trees without consequence or permission, but the aftermath of this event, regardless if their team was totaled or not was going to involve so many peasants sweeping in like hungry scavenging birds.

Scanning the area swiftly, Amalia made sure to register red bars of health, then orange and finally red – only looking at the greens if she had no other choices for her targets. Having become accustomed to relying on the interface and the health bars more than the general appearance of players. With the punishment this monster was leaving, there was not going to be much of a breathing room for the support team to lag behind the others. They needed to keep the healing coming and they needed to do so without faltering for even a cycle.

Aha, she found three relatively injured people that could use some help. She quickly turned to them and continued her song into the next page of the score, hoping the healing that would wash over them would help alleviate the edge of the virtually induced pain.

Fear clouded her brain as she saw her life flashing before her eyes. As the beast lunged itself towards her, she was paralyzed and wrack with fright. She knew that she was the strongest one here out of all of them, and the one who hurt the beast the most, but she didn't expect it to target her so blatantly! That's why she had all the meat-shields around her! They were supposed to act as a buffer as she completely demolished this dumb old, overgrown spider. She groaned at the idiots surrounding her. They couldn't do their jobs and now they were all going to get killed!

"GOOD JOB FECESTAINS!" she screamed, glaring at her 'teammates' when she finally recovered from the flash of terror that had sucked her breath away. It had hurt a bit but the anger overshadowed her wounds as she snarled. "NEXT TIME LET'S TRY NOT TO FAIL! GOOD PLAN?!"

She'd been punched before and it honestly hurt, even if she wouldn't admit it. She'd fallen more times than she could remember and stubbornly always got back up on her feet. But never had she ever felt anything close to what it was probably like to be smashed into by a truck. For a moment, the world seemed to spin, her vision turning monochrome, the ringing in her ear made her disoriented.

But slowly, just as always, everything started to move towards clarity, towards focus. Which might have been okay if she wasn't hurting anywhere. She gritted her teeth, now fully roused from her drunken stupor and she staggered back, breathing rapidly and blinking.

She could taste the coppery flavor of blood on her lips, on her gums. She could feel her crumpled armor, the abrasions on her skin. She was only barely able to register Astor's friendly gesture, but none of his words, though she nodded back, finding some kind of desire to appear alright in front of someone she knew who she could consider a friend.

But she dimly realized that she couldn't take much more punishment pointlessly. She needed to heal, recuperate and only after dive into the fray again. At her level, it was stupid to dare and fight such a big monster without some strategy in mind. Moreover, she only barely survived the last attack by the skin of her teeth.

Time to take a breather and shake off this mild headache. Was that caused by the concussion?

With the all the healers frantically scrabbling to top people’s health bars back up to a sound amount, Jack eventually let out a sigh of relief. Seeing how his work load had been slightly relieved, he’d nod once appreciatively to those around him before scurrying off to a different area. Simply put? There were way too many people on the west now for his liking. Considering the boss’ previous behavior, it was safe to say that he absolutely did not want to find himself as part of the crowd.

While sprinting across the field, he’d begin fidgeting with the spell casting interface in game. After all, casting verbally left his mouth dry, leaving him with a need to quench his thirst. Why not take this moment of reprieve to wet his tongue?

Upon the spell’s completion, a warm light would fill three targets (@Alphabet Chocolate @Roland Rutledge @Nalani Rosa ) with holy fire, giving them a sense of empowerment for a short duration. “Oops… wrong button.” He’d mutter to himself while laughing it off for the time being. Due to his misclick the previous buff on @Merkaba had been overridden. Hopefully it wouldn’t be a pricey mistake.

Now approaching from the wast, Dempsey saw her chance to strike again. She broke into a dead sprint straight toward the side of the spider queen, and all was going according to plan, until it wasn't. At the last moment, the queen shifted, and Dempsey feared that she was about to turn. During this moment of distraction, her foot found itself stuck in the debris that scattered the battle field. The woman tumbled forward with an uncomfortable 'Oof' and quickly recovered, dusting herself of debris and glancing around to see if anyone had seen her fall. Only Amalia, who happened to be the last person here she wanted to have seen that. The bard seemed mostly preoccupied with spell weaving however, and she found herself surrounded by the golden light that signified a healing spell. Slightly rejuvenated, she nodded her thanks and continued on with her plans to escape to the east.

She recovered and panicked for a moment. she had lost the momentum that she'd hoped would carry up and over their opponent to the less crowded and relatively safe swath to the east. She backpedaled a few steps and sprinted forward, then dove, weaving her way through the spider queens legs, not daring to take a moment to attack from such a dangerous location. In the end, she wound up reaching her destination, but was annoyed that her plans to attack had been stymied.

Ortix had just witnessed something unthinkable, the Spider Queen had jumped straight into the air. The problem was that she was coming down seemingly right on top of him. Ortix turned tail, making a complete 180 degree turn.

"RUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!" He shrieked entering into a full sprint away from monster. He simply couldn't get far enough away in that short amount of time. Seconds later, the spider came crashing down catching Ortix in the blast radius. He flew into the air and hit his head on downed tree leaving him unconscious.

A few minutes later, he woke up to find his body pulsating with bright light. The tingling sensations he felt before were nothing compared to this. Several people had stopped to cast healing magic and recover him. He was already able to get back on his feet after taking an immense blow like that causing him to be eternally grateful to them while also reminding him that he needed to turn the pain percentage down. Instead of rushing into battle immediately, Ortix waited for the Spider Queen to settle down before his next strike.

    《 1429 / 2000 》

A short while later, the horror begins to stir. This time an eerie, unnatural glow of bile green manifests in her blade like arms that had previously served as pincers... A corrosive ooze trickles from the tips and burns upon touching the ground.

The creature's head turns unnaturally, as does the body. Her eyes now glowing with a fiery vengeance. The large arachnid figure turns and charges towards the paladin-to-be. (@Aaron Marone) Those thin and sickly looking blade like arms would raise vertically this time like a guillotine waiting to crash down upon its victim.

Upon doing so, a loud hissing sound could be heard across the battle field as a sticky acid like substance clings to the man's armor, eating away at it visibly. Despite the foulness of such a strike, the tank's health bar seems intact, remaining the same color as before. Upon inspection however something had changed... something bad.

    Arachna Attacks!

Attack – Venom Strike The Spider Queen strikes with her now envenomed arms! It eats away at the target's armor at an alarming rate. Max and current health decreased by 50, lasts 2 rounds (timer refreshes upon new application). Cannot be dispelled.

OOC: Remember to be under 400 words and only post once every 4 hours. Multiple characters that you own can join the event as long as they have an inventory tracker.

Thoughts slowly drifted away from Rein as his bloodlust set in, gone was his rage of being betrayed, as well as his fascination with the creature in general. This long into a fight only the primal portion of him remained active, in full control his body and ability. He mindlessly noted the spider’s venom laced arms as he jumped from tree to tree, naturally it would be best to avoid them if he could, but not if it meant moving from his current location, no he would keep at it for now.

In fact in a sense the venom was somewhat of a challenge to the man, a representation of power that Rein simply did not have. This could not stand. Whipping back and fro from debris to debris the kid charged his entire body with lighting as he dove into the beast’s legs with a growl sending a small shockwave up her body dealing another 12 damage. It seemed she was effected by the slight shiver she gave before flinging him off her leg, but the damage had been done.

Sand and debris clogged up the air, battle cries and what must have been magic attacks flared up in the wilderness just beside the city, and Amane, sporting no gear and boasting stats that added to a grand total of nada, did what any sensible newbie would have done. Suffice to say, she ran straight towards the toxic goo dripping, herculean, murderous spider.

Note to self: logging in straight into an ongoing boss fight was not a good way to start the game.

She'd barely had time to figure out the control of the game, what's what, and throw around a couple of spells before sounds of the commotion snapped her out of her aimless wanderings. Naively, she had thought it was some kind of celebration, but as she approached, the hulking figure of the arachnid screeching, giving her the full nails-on-chalkboard treatment, about death and despair quickly made the situation more than clear.

Ah, a boss fight, she thought. It would have been wiser to flee; chances were, she would die here, and she'll have to start the character creation process all over again. Not that she would lose much, considering her current status, but the principle stood. But of course, she promised herself to become strong in this game. And missing out on a boss fight, with it's subsequent loot and experience? She's no gaming expert, but even she could figure out that that was a sure fire way to lag behind.

And so she was, keeping on the very outskirts of the battle, trying to add some contribution, meagre as it may be. Clasping her hands together, a white-gold light streamed between her fingers, arching out to hit three targets that weren't at full health. Immediately she could feel her energy reserves fall, and a sense of fatigue struck her, one so realistic she could barely believe that it was fabricated by a virtual game, like the adrenalin drop after a harrowing exam. The healing resulting was pathetic, but at least it was something. Guess she's going to stay here and fight.

Roland panted as he ran back to his original position west of the spider queen. He had seen Dempsey running around like a lunatic trying to avoid an attack, but he just simply didn’t have the speed to copy the technique. No, he just needed to play smarter than the rest and anticipate the enemy’s movements. Looking closely, he saw the green vicious liquid that coated the spider’s blade like arms at it ripped forward towards the tank who sat far North the entire battle. “So he finally got her attention, huh?” Roland thought skipping backwards, “Good try and keep it.” As he moved he felt even more healing energies, as well as a renewed sense of vigor that empowered his movements, “These supports really are the heroes of this battle.” Roland concluded as he prepared to move further away from Aaron.

Covering his retreat, Roland jumped over to the spider, slashing out at her thorax, once more hitting home this time producing loud scratching noise like metal scrapping against cement dealing an increased 36 damage due to Jack’s buff. Instead of sparks there was a black ichor that seeped from the wound which Roland hoped was blood but didn’t bother to investigate it, as he headed further southwest from his current position.
