She’d gotten close. Very close. But in the end, Alkaid slumped in defeat. Such was her fate, it seemed.
That was, until she received Alex’s salute and invitation to come again. Returning it with a bright smile, she wondered if they would meet again, provided they even remembered the whole scenario. Just when she’d gotten enough distance, she was sifting through her UI to friend the armored figure in case she did forget, only to receive a friend request in kind herself. With a smile and a slight skip to her step, she hit "Accept" before moving onto her next agenda. Namely, food.
Bright side of virtual reality: that delicious looking cake? Guilt-free consumption.
The downside, as she'd later find out? Slime-filled cake. And not the cute gel-slime kind.
Much more exhausted and notably more wasted, Alkaid considered checking out some more booths. Chief among them was what looked like a ghost story tent that she really wanted to try out, but decided against it after a few of the nameless horrors she'd also come across while browsing the fair's food selection.
As time went on, though, and the fair's end came ever closer, Alkaid couldn't help but want to give that dunk tank one more try...
And so when she returned, she did so with an unknowingly coincidental cat-like grin. As she set down not just one, but four tankards fresh from the still, she gave Alex a slightly off-center, languid wave. "I've returned, you evil, drunkard of a knight! I thought you were looking a little too lonely so I came by! Aren't I nice? Heh!
"Wait. You look a bit more sober...don't tell me you got so drunk you fell off on your own!" Loading the contraption with now-practiced ease, Alkaid set herself up for another round, "Well, I guess it doesn't matter! I'm sure you wouldn't mind another swim, would you?"
Thrown dice:
Sorry for the rushed post, but I wanted to try to get one last one in before the event closes. Also congrats June! xD
