  1. img Kewl beans, Crystal place!

It was supposed to be called Crystallized blah blah blah.. who really cared? Tenebris remembered this place surprisingly well compared to other things from her total suck days. So now she here again! Tenebris was here to... as usual... find prism shards in the area. These little quests were also supposed to make her stronger or something along those lines. She was actually here for more reasons though.

"Still quiet as a morgue around here *snicker*."

The dark girl touched the cold crystal flowers that were twice as big as she was. This area was around the dreaded Silent Grotto, a place that proved too dangerous for even a combined effort from the Terrasphere players to explore it completely. That was one reason she was here. To find stuff they missed or something. Why Count Do Nothing could not do this stuff herself was never explained. The place used to bother her but also be a good place to think and mope like a doofus. Tenebris found herself funny enough... doing some thinking of her own here.

"....Bleh. Bitter or not, I'm neeeeever drinking that cruddy stuff again. I don't even know if I saved anybody! Hopefully lots got to experience death but.. hehe... guess Magi failed again❤."

She looked at her reflection in the flower. It was distorted by the surface much like her own soul was. Tenebris had wasted her time goofing off without doing anything. Normally this would have made her feel good from the grief of failure but it also caused her to become confused and not know who she was anymore. So for sure she would never do it again.

The tiny bits she remembered were not worth redoing. The one kind of grief Tenebris did not want was dealing with her old self. The only use Magi Heart had anymore was a kewl little trick to use for covering her intentions. Being completely honest was not the best way to give people grief, Tenebris was starting to learn. If they died super fast like, or they killed her just as quickly... that would be a few seconds of great joyful grief just to end in a blink of an eye. Tenebris needed to keep them all at least within arms length. So it was probably worth practicing those disgustingly awful Magi lines every now and then so that she would not throw up everywhere just by uttering them.

"I'm Magi H-Heart... let me... help you!"

It was the tone, that sickeningly sweet over the top deluded corny, overly rehearsed tone that she just couldn't stand doing. She did it once before but she just could not repeat it quite as good. Yay for being unable to be that dumb, but also crud cause it meant people persons were going to stay away from her more now. The Dark Heart wanted to be near her friends... near everyone so she could give them good things.

"All these hero wannabes all of a sudden. Maybe I should go hunting for a while. That'd be fun..."

Taking out Gertrud she fired at the crystal flower causing it to shatter. The sound echoed throughout the silent world around her.

"If I was god. I would make it so heroes could not even happen. Then people could focus on their misery like they should.... hehehe... god... Wowzers that's way too generic. I'm not a villain wannabe either. Reality doesn't work like that. This game is realer than real so hehehehe.. dreams mean shit❤! Politics and adults are twisted psychos that don't even know what they want! Anime shows are lies and bullcrap, life is total fail and then you die❤! Hehehehehe.... and here Tenebris Cordis is with her stupid new name given by a stupid loser of a vampire that sits in her flowers all day like a freak! Hehehehe... It's so greatly bad... and I love it❤!"

Her hand went to her rose and shook her head. Was it because of this that she was who she was? No way... she was loving every second of the pain this flower gave her. She was just denying all these feelings before. Roses or not, the dark magical girl was there before it ever was put in. That was a belief she stood by.

"Time to go find some sparkly thing for the heck of it.. hehehe. All shards and no curing makes Tene a bored girl..."

  2. She couldn't remember the last time she'd been here anymore. The complexity of the crystal barrens, as she'd deemed them, was something that would never quite finish being a quest to comprehend for the faerin. For her, this place was more than just a place to hunt for rare items like shards of prisms, but to figure out more about the world.

Still, finding something as a souvenir wouldn't hurt either, she figured. So, she knelt down against some crystal grass and poked at it, pondering how it might feel being kept in such a peculiar form of stasis. "Now that I think of it, I met a strange girl last time I was here... What did we talk about again...? Besides the fact she was insane and more than willing to admit it."

Her finger touched her lips, tracing them before she moved to tap her cheek instead. Nope, nothing was coming to mind. At least, not until she heard what she deemed a familiar voice- even if she couldn't make out the words from her part of Zalra.

"I swear that sound is familiar..." Standing straight, she ran towards it- the voice of a girl, one she'd met once or twice, but very barely knew. "Ah, I knew it was someone I'd met before... It was... Magi, wasn't it?" Her lips curled into a smile as she glanced at the familiar magical girl- though there was something different about her... "You switched to gothic lolita from sweet lolita, huh? It's still super cute on you. I wish I'd look good in something so mature..."

As she let out a soft laugh, the girl began to twirl her violet hair shyly, eyes darting around to avoid looking into the darker eyes of the unusually dark @Magi Heart. She soon noticed the flower that touched the girl's skin- a beautiful but somehow eerie rose. "I've never seen a rose quite like that one before. I wonder where they grow?"

  3. “They grow from the malice and madness of the Resident of the Rose Garden, Harveste. Definitely nothing pretty and fluffy.”

A masculine voice sounded from above, revealing the midnight haired muse that perched atop a particularly large crystalline formation, his ivory flagpole leaning loosely against his shoulder as he waved at the two familiar faces. It had been some time since he saw the naturamancer, after all, and to think she would be wandering around in a territory as dangerous as this…looked like the shy wallflower got herself a bigger set of balls while he wasn’t looking. Magi Heart, on the other hand, was definitely an expected encounter within the lands of Crystallized Zalra, the only place where one could find naturally forming Prism Gems.

He had been wandering the place himself for a couple hours now, only encountering the occasional infection-consumed beast or irresistibly shiny thingy, and despite the fact that the infection had begun growing on his right cheek, the muse’s magic was enough to slow down the process dramatically. It was so much different than when he had first arrived here, hadn’t it? Yet more proof of his growing strength. More proof of the amount of time that had passed since then. It felt like an eternity since he had encountered the changed Paladin upon the shores of Druuk Island, where it had been an accomplishment for him to simply slay a pirate crew. And it had been the last time since he saw her as well, more pressing events calling him away from his search for what exactly happened to Eldhi.

    And now?

“Here I was, fishing for a swordfish, only to get a pink snapper for my troubles instead,” Cain laughed, hopping off his pedestal. With a metallic click, he landed, one hand on his hat while the other gingerly cradled the Ivory Reminiscence. It thrummed for a moment as healing magic turned the crystalline scabs upon his body into fine dust, blown away by the subterranean drafts, before he turned his attention back to his totally friendly, definitely not psychopathic friend.

Voice echoing through the silent grotto, he waved and winked at the psychobrat who was once so much more. “Been awhile, eh, Thorn Witch? You still pulling off low-level pranks and doing errands for a bitch too lazy to use their super powers? Or are you actually here for something other than mining for shards like a third-world citizen?”

  4. img So much for peace and quiet. The noobs were spreading further out. Tenebris was approached by some purply girl. Who knew her old name? Had Tenebris met her before? Nothing was coming to her but she went with it. If the girl was considering her a friend than Tenebris would happily accept to be such! It was not like she wanted to be enemies, not at all!

"Mature? Cute? Goth? Seriously, shut up. It's what I wear."

Tenebris snapped pretty quickly due to her current mood not falling into a faux sweetness. She took a moment to look around not really caring about this purply person much. Sometimes there was things she had to do. This was one of those times. Regardless how she felt about it. There was something keeping her on track here. She had to do this or else. Even with all of her desire for grief, the vampire's anger was not something she wanted. It was weird and... urgh. Why would she feel so indebted to her? Probably for the same reason she was thrilled to be what she was now rather than the dope from before.

"...What? Can't you see I'm busy? Gee whiz purply person go awa-"

She stopped when the girl asked about the rose. The Dark Heart was pretty sure she was going to reach the place she needed to search soon. It was so high level and she was going to get hurt so bad... so kewl. Now here was this party pooper who was asking questions and getting in the way of her suffering adventure to be! She turned to look at the girl with a mild annoyance. Tenebris was told to bring certain kinds of people persons to Count Chocula if they were fitting. How the hell was she supposed to tell that? Nope too purply... probably... maybe. Before she could say anything else in response, not that she cared too, a familiar voice rang out. Ooooh... like a true Tuxedo Kamen.

"Hehehehe... Look! Look purply❤! It's Tuxedo Kamen! Watch how he does that generic dumb stuff? Isn't it sad? Huh huh? Right!?"

Tenebris held Purply by the arm and shook her while pointing and her voice getting more excited with each word. Then she pushed her away and focused on her friend',s friend's, friend twice removed who she loved in a all so hateful way. Or well something along those lines. The relationship tree was a pain and everyone was a friend when they were in grief anyway.

"Red fang's house is none of your business! Nyah!"

    S
he stuck her tongue out at him. How did he know that? Eldhi told him? No way, she would have never been involved with this guy. He was way beyond dumb. Unless he was just that nosy? Nosy for trouble? It did not matter all that much to the Dark Heart. Right now, she was dealing with some internal issues and worrying about crap like who knew what about whom was outta her league. Not worth the trouble.

"Thorn Witch? Wowzers, you give stupid titles to everyone you meet? Hehehe... you looked better when you had the crystal on your face❤! You might get to experience slow and painful death, wouldn't that be great!?"

His words about the vampire left a odd look on her face. Tenebris was unsure how to respond. Gee whiz, she did not disagree. It was just... beyond her control. She was a slave so what? It was wonderful to be stuck into this reality of grief! She would move on later, when she wanted too... when she had something else to do...

"You are p-pretty good at figuring stuff out aren't you? I'm doing what I'm doing. Unless you want to be saved by me❤. I can't help you. I do love the grief you give me though so it's not all bad. I can't help dummies right now cause I'm busy...."

She gripped Gertrud tighter but made no attempt to pass by them or to continue talking. A strange look on her face... indecisiveness.

  5. “Oof,” Cain replied with mock agony, “That was quite a potent insult, Magi. To think that your words alone were capable of gouging away at my very soul. Oh, I am a changed man due to your cutting words, and shall now spend the rest of my eternal immortality wallowing in infinite duress and unmendable grief.”

Partway through his intentionally horrible attempt at portraying mental anguish, the midnight haired muse stuck his own tongue out at Magi as well, apparently totally fine with relishing in the comedic immaturity of his frenemy. Ah, the Thorn Witch definitely was a one of a kind individual within Terrasphere, wasn’t she? There were darker, crueller individuals, for sure, from Vivian, delighting in mind destruction and dismemberment, to the Mad King, who stole the will of his own people in order to force them to war, but only in Magi Heart could the Flagbearer of Miracles find him a partner he could trade saccharine barbs with. There was comfort to be found in knowing where he stood with someone, after all, and if he was scared off by childish malice alone…

…well, that wouldn’t make him much of an adventurer, would it?

“Anyways, the Rose Gardener’s business is totes my business. I’m best buds with Eldhi, basically soul bros with Alphabet, and I’m friends with you, Magi Heart~ That’s more than enough reason for me to do some deductive thinkery to see what sort of cool kids club you kiddos got into, yah know?” He winked then, at her little jab at his love for titles. “And don’tcha think that Thorn Witch is a super cool nickname? Magi Heart, Witch of Scarlet Thorns has a pretty nice ring to it, right? Even matches with your floral bow!”

Another small crystalline patch burst out beneath his eye, and Cain brushed that irritating bit off as well, giving her a little bow of gratitude for not one, but TWO compliments launched in his direction within a mere minute of conversation. He looked good (very loose interpretation) AND he was smart (also fairly loose interpretation)? This must have been the melting of the psychodere! Some ground was finally being made then? He clenched a fist in that small, self-interpreted victory, even if being ‘friendly’ with a crazy little kid who exploded villagers and tortured animals and worked for some unknown evil force wasn’t the most brilliant idea in the world.

“D’aw, too busy with homework to go out and play with your best buds? Never fear, unlike you, I’m uncollared and have a boatload of free time. Let me save your soul AND your afternoon, Magi. So hey, you, me, maybe Harveste, let’s clear out this Grotto, get a whole bunch of shiny Prism thingies to make your edgy master happy, and then you can take me out for dinner as thanks, eh?”

His eyes flickered to the new fancy set pieces that she was adorned in now.

“After all, you should be swimming in gold, right?”

  6. "I-I wasn't trying to say there was anything wrong with it!" Harveste sputtered in reaction. Normally, noticing small things made others happy when they tried an image change, didn't it? Why had her attempt to be friendly go so sideways?

Not too far into the conversation (though enough for her to feel less uneasy about her arm being shaken by the peppy magical girl), Harveste was turned to look at @Cain Darlite. She didn't dislike the other familiar face being there, but she did have to wonder- until she asked, at least. "Residents of rose gardens aren't necessarily malicious, you know? In tarot cards, roses symbolize balance and in floriology, they symbolize anything from thanks and cheer to love and wisdom..."

She had to think a bit after speaking, knowing there were an abundant number of colors and species of roses. Perhaps it was better not to get into the details, if only for the moment.

Before she'd gotten her words in edgewise, the two seemed to continue their conversation, leaving an awkward taste in her mouth. Waving her hands before her to try to cut in as awkward as it was, she began to stutter until she calmed down, words starting slow but becoming quick with her heartbeat.

"Still... I didn't know you two were friends. Or is this not just a teasing form of playfulness...?" She looked between the man and @Magi Heart. Each had something that sounded almost sarcastic to say about the other, whether it was about the fact that Magi's fashion choice was dark and brooding, or that Cain had the appearance of an old cartoon hero of sorts. "And I dunno, he lacks the mask, so doesn't he look more like Kid Kaito from that anime about the magic thief?"

  7. img "Huh?"

Tenebris watched him react to her in such a over the top manner. What the? He sure changed his tune quick didn't he? Wasn't Cain hard to give grief to before? All full of his inspiration or whatever? Oh he was playing along for fun? That was... pretty nasty of him.

"Don't tell me you're serious? Where's the hard head from before? Hehehe... you teasing loser❤!"

She spoke with mockery but her smile was actually of someone having a cruel type of fun. This was her lifeblood. Dwelling in misery and finding the joy in it. Faking or not he was playing this kooky Terrasphere game and life in general a lot better today! Kewl beans! She will enjoy pushing him past mere play to true unbridled grief! Super grief explosions!

"Oh Purply...hehehe, I don't know what you're talking about! Roses hurt especially when one is thrust right here!"

She ran her hand over the rose with a twisted look of both painful memory and comfort. Then he spoke again.

    "......*Twitch*"

What? He was 'best buds' with Eldhi... Eldhi was not for other people! She was gone now to grief heaven anyway! At least that's what the reverse Magi told herself to understand the disappearance. At least if she could not have Stabalots, then no one else could either! Then he went on to say he was 'bros' with Alphabet or ABC as she was usually called in the manor. Bros? First ewww she wasn't a bro was she? Tenebris had very little interaction with Alphabet since her change. She decided to just ignore this one. Then he said he was gee whiz.... Magi Heart's.. bleh... friend. Tenebris had trained herself as well as she could to tolerate using her original name because it really wasn't any dumber than Tenebris anyway... but 'Heart'. Urgh, she did not care to be called that at all.

This guy really knew how to push her buttons... and in a way. That was pretty kewl. As long as he didn't push his stupid dreams on her and she could push him over the edge. It was pretty bitter!

"Hehe...hehehehehe. I think I had you wrong! Purply's got a tiny point! You're more than a Tuxedo Kamen. I'll come up with a better thingy to bring you down later. Pfft... Heart's promise❤!"

She gave a cute wink and pose if to prove some disturbed point, pulled out a arrow and shot it at Cain's chest. She continued talking as if it was nothing more than a love tap. Which to her it sorta was.

"I don't remember making you my friend though? Unless it was... ew. Okies, maybe I would have once but last I saw you with your crush that um.. hehehehe❤. Isn't with you anymore is she❤? Dumped like a nobody! From a fleabag! Hehehe, don't worry I get hurt all the time by all kinds of people persons! I did then and do now! It's wonderfully awful! You'll get used to it. With or without my help *snicker*. That goes for you too Purply❤!"

He called her collared, that her soul needing to be saved! Saved? Her heart was in a state of chronic pain. In various forms as well. Why did that mean SHE needed saving? That's what he wanted wasn't it?! To try and change her back? Back to... 'that'? His offer too. He knew so much, gee whiz who spilled all this stuff? So much for secrets!

"Ooooooh, I get it! Okies, hehehe... I would love to get a ton of grief out of doing this alone but I can't die until I've... uh... figured out some stuff and found out how to best save you all...."

Tenebris had no intent in letting these two take any shards of any kind. She had a assignment and when it come right down to it. She kinda had to follow through. Nothing stopping her from lying though! The Dark Heart turned away and pointed at a small wall of crystal a few feet away.

    "There's a wall there."

She looked back at the two with a surprisingly friendly smile. It was almost as if somehow Magi was actually legitimately happy to have them there... whether faux or not? Who knew.

    "Shatter❤!"

She pulled out a arrow and shot Grudeg Arrow at the sheet of pure crystal. It broke apart like paper as shards flew everywhere. Cutting into her own skin, drawing blood. Her response was a excited gasp as small infected spots started to appear on her body. The crystallization disease making it's first appearance on her.

"Hehehehe. Wowzers I think this will be fun! Right in there is a tunnel thing that is a shortcut to where I gotta go. Ready, set, go!"

  8. Oh, shit, Harveste did make a good point about the whole roses not being evil thing. It was a symbol of romance as well, after all, and for that purpose alone, Cain knew that he had slightly fucked up. Shoulda been more direct. Definitely didn’t want to give Harveste the impression that perhaps the Resident of the Rose Garden was merely misunderstood. Perhaps he should have mentioned something like ‘Demon Monster Lord Who Warps the Psyche of Players and Forces Them to Do Their Bidding’? Or would just ‘Clearly a Power Hungry Maniac Up to No Good’ be more succinct?

At least the purplish Faerin had the right idea about Magi and Cain being best buddies. “Yup,” the midnight haired muse replied cheerily, not a hint of sarcasm in his tone, “Me and Magi go wayyyyy back. Can’t live with or without, yah know? And hey, new, improved thingy? Always looking f-”

A flash of arcane light, much too fast to follow with his eyes. He heard it before he felt it, the thunk of solid magic sinking into flesh, before pain bloomed through his chest, setting agonizing roots deep within. If this was when he had first met Magi, such a blow would have split him in half, but now…now, this wasn’t all that fatal. His eye twitched in pain, but he forced himself to suppress the rest of his reflexes.

“-orward to it, Magi! Heart's promise❤!"

He winked in response, pointing a finger gun in her direction before firing off an arcane beam of his own, shaped like a heart and infused with the tunes of a world ending love song. His own damage potential would have been lower if purely due to the difference in strength, but Cain was the Flagbearer of Miracles, and buffing himself up was certainly one method of closing the gap. But…still a love tap. Still not all out.

“And my crush?” Cain tilted his head to the side after trading magical blows with the magical girl, “Who…oh, no, I’m pretty sure that was the other way around, buddy. It sorta did suck though, but, well…hardly knew her anyways. Definitely not as close of a relationship as I had with Eldhi, at least. Probs why I’m looking for the Sword Girl instead of the Bow Girl, ye?”

At least Magi was complicit with his own suggestions. Despite the hilariously mismatched party, from the double faced muse to the chaotically bipolar magic archer to the clueless but kind naturamancer, they were certainly doomed to failure if there was even a single beast within this dungeon that they could not handle with their own strength. Case in point when she blew up a wall without even telling them what was going on to begin with. Manifesting an arcane barrier to scatter the crystalline shrapnel away from himself and Harveste, the muse resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he watched Magi fully embrace the injuries and infections, before a few words of magic warded off the crystalline growths.

Neglect play. This was just neglect play.

“Gee whiz, you dingleberry,” Cain chastised, “Don’t go off killing yourself already, Magi. At the very least, you should be saving your health for something bigger than a broken wall, dontcha think?”

Ah, but she had already ran off by the time he completed his sentence, too overjoyed with the prospects of partying with skilled teammates and adventuring into the depths of the Silent Grotto to bother with his miniature lecture of not being a shitty DPS. With a shrug, Cain turned to Harveste.

“Well, can’t leave a little girl to run off on her own in here, right?”

There was much more it to that, but Harveste must have had her own troubles, and this was a…side project of his, really. With that, he ran after her, occasionally flickering forwards in a quick teleport to keep up with her quick strides.

  9. The nervousness made her laugh once more- it was a peculiar tick, one she loathed. Lately, she'd really been noticing certain faults of her's that bothered her. Her tendency to laugh when trying to look someone in the eye? That was just one of many things she wanted to change. If only change were easy.

Wait, didn't Magi change in some way? Cain had noted it, hadn't he? And to boot, Magi noted Cain had changed in some way. They knew each other from before- before even Harveste likely ever saw them, perhaps even before Terrasphere was a world.

"All roses have their thorns, but that doesn't make them any less beautiful. If all moments were happy, we wouldn't really notice them, right?" It was only natural for a writer, in her mind, to say something 'philosophical'. It was especially so when she was trying to be a harvest sprite, though surely they all had personalities of their own- her favorites were always the insightful ones.

Of course, insight came from experience. Experience was something she would likely never have enough of.

Soon, Cain and Magi began talking about things Harveste couldn't understand. Cain's crush that wasn't a crush? The sword versus the bow girl? What was all this cryptic conversation? It was starting to make her feel left out, distanced.

Then, Magi did something well... magical. She used an arrow of some sort to break through what had looked like a sheet of pure, thick crystal- as if it had been as thin as the paper she printed her manuscript on, or thinner!
It opened up to a tunnel, and Magi seemed more than eager to explore-
but somehow, she also seemed... Eerily inviting. "I'm curious to see what's in this tunnel. This isn't my first time in the Crystalized Zalra, but... A crystal tunnel? That's brand new to me... Is it okay if I follow you too?"

Half of her wanted to ask Cain if he was alright, but since he'd returned the attack from being shot in the chest with what was seemingly a playful return fire of his own, she was given less reason to give in to temptation to worry. By the time she was actually ready to ask, he'd already run ahead, following Magi.

"Wait up, you two! I can fight too!" Sure, she wasn't the strongest in the battlefield, but she'd been trying to get stronger and had generally mastered the art of manipulating plants. Crystals were different, but they had minerals that might feed her vines- and her pet would probably like to slide around when they got further in, if she let it.

So, she ran after them with swift, unusually nimble movements. Her next step, likely, was to work on mastering rogue. But that wasn't for this moment. This moment was for finding the secrets of this tunnel- and if she was lucky, more about the secret shared between her violently friendly 'friends'.

    Crystal Passage

img "Hehehe, still gotta help your friend right?"

Tenebris said as she slowed down her speedy pace and the others caught up. Her voice echoing in the hollowed and in a cold eerie way, beautiful crystal cavern.

"I have my own recovery stuffs. Cruddy leftovers, I'm hoping to ditch for something that feels worse. You shouldn't feel like you need to take care of me. I hate that❤."

The path ahead was going to be long so she tried to recall some of the advice from the Overwatcher before this mission. Just sending her alone to do this. They were purposely doing it to let her suffer and either fail or barely succeed weren't they? It was right up her alley but now she had ...pfft... help.

"Since when do you say gee whiz? Jesting jokster. You're going to have a hard time keeping that up. This adventure, hehehe, is going to be full of grief❤! We have to go allll the way to the end! Just look at this place, isn't it lonely? I don't know how I feel about this place still. Without people how can there be grief? You know? So it'd be great if the monsters could just come out now... okies?!"

She almost shouted the last word in hopes of drawing attention to them. She rarely had this chance really. To travel with someone from her past without it being just a short encounter. Tenebris would use this for her own ulterior motives as well. To better get into the heads of people persons that in truth she really did want to find the best way to send to heaven. If it was done wrong it wouldn't be enough. Then there was also something else...

"...So Cainy... Purply. I'm asking for it *snicker*... if we are friends and all."

Her voice softened and lost it's mocking tone. Sounding more classic Magi-ish.

"The wars over right? How are you both? I was on my own after that. Eldhi took care of m-me... *cough*. How about you?"

“Gosh darn it, Magi,” Cain replied airily at her disgust at his helpful nature, “With your opinions so fogged up, how on earth am I supposed to figure out whether or not you really hate something or not? Maybe you should switch from Thorn Witch to Mega Tsundere, mhmm?”

To make a point, he snapped his fingers in a three snap beat, another casual display of ‘music’ that served to scrape off a few more inconsequential crystalline scabs that had formed on her body. Of course, this was a horribly inefficient usage of magic and energy, especially if this prismatic tunnel really was as difficult as she hyped it up as. All the way to the end, off into a goal that they couldn’t see at all, to face, what, a motherlode of Prism Gems? Or some giant crystalline beast that would wipe them all with little to no effort? Ah, if the Inseminator of Grief and Despair herself was absolutely overjoyed with the hell that awaited him, it only made sense that Cain would get hyped up himself in the face of the challenge before them. If he closed his eyes, he could already hear the walls rumble, as if the entirety of the Crystal Passage was hungry for their hearts, and in response, he pulled the Ivory Reminiscence from the aether, twirling it dramatically as he kept up the marching pace.

“Oh, so Eldhi was the one that changed you? Guess she gave you referrals and all…even though I didn’t see her at all during the entirety of that particular war,” Cain replied, wondering how pissed off the Jaded Justicar would be if she knew her treasured sword had been handed off to a common murderer, “And I’m…pretty fine myself. Lead a marching, dancing procession during Black Friday, had a blast with Alpha in the Dark Harveste, went off doing some ocean navigation as well, went on a seaside cave date with Eldhi afterwards, and…now I’m here with you two! Must say that as far as adventuring goes, it hasn’t been easier, so I’m totes looking forward to all the suffering you’ve promised…”

What was the equivalent of Cain-y for Magi anyways?

    “…Maggie!”

As if karmic retribution for all his low level bullying, a piece of the wall unhinged, crystalline structures forming into a floating gem filled to the brim with electrical power. Without a single thought, the Crystalite blindsided Cain, a bolt of lightning blinding all those unfortunate enough to be looking in the direction of the sudden attack, before the ensuing thunder wreaked havoc on their eardrums, the deafening roar multiplying as it bounced off the walls of the passage. For a moment, there was only dust and the afterimage of arcing electricity, burnt into their retinas.

But slowly, the shadow of the midnight haired muse moved, brushing off dust from his clothes as his mouth opened and closed, singing a particularly cheerful song as he ignored the crystallization of his body, the searing of his flesh. The Ivory Reminiscence resonated as the banner became of the night, swishing in grand arcs while arcane power built up.
An arcane beam smashed the Crystalite into its wall so hard that it bounced back, right into Cain’s Muse-empowered kick. Despite having no Body Combat, his physical strength, increased threefold by that irritatingly frivolous song, was enough to send it flying towards Harveste.

“Show me something cool, Harveste! You can fight too, right?”

The monsters certainly came as Magi had asked, only partially to the chagrin of the faerin. Harveste had said she could hold her ground, and she wasn't kidding around- she knew there was danger, and she had a strange taste for it at that moment. What was it @Cain Darlite had requested as the crystals began to break off into nice big battlers?

“Show me something cool, Harveste! You can fight too, right?”

"I can fight alright-" As she spoke, the crystal seemed to absorb more of its surroundings, getting bigger. It had become a giant as it slammed into her in a hasty maneuver, knocking her back. It did some damage, making her glad she was covered from head to toe in cloth. Something was better than nothing to nullify the damage.

Glaring at it as she got to her feet, she began to sing with her hand covering the armlet on her wrist, using it to push her song further, to bring her vines taller. "They may not be likely to be prone to poison, but they can still be caught in my trap." With a smile, she let her words flow as naturally as her breath. "Hear my song, oh love that grounds me~ Bring forth a hug from that which brings me strength!"

Vines somehow broke through the ground, if only just tall enough from being summoned to wrap around the crystalline structure, slowly digging in with thorns that seemed strong enough to make a dent- only a dent, however.

"I swear I'm stronger than this... I'm not giving up!" She looked to @Magi Heart, smiling. "Your bow can surely penetrate them if they stay still. I'll keep them held tight with my friends, so please have some fun yourself and have a literal blast!"

It was like a game of hot potato, though in reality their 'potato' was too hard to eat, and cold to boot. Still, it was strangely exciting.

"I hope I'm not going insane... She'd let it go and focus on the fight. This was the first time in ages she found a fight so fun and freeing!

"Marching, dancing on Black Friday, blasts... dates... oh how amazingly stuper my life is..."

Urgh seriously, she was unable to keep herself from falling right back into her true feelings towards the muse. He was... so positive? Or was he doing it on purpose? Regardless it was a pain in her butt and she was sure half of his crap was lies. Eldhi would never date anyone, that was for sure! The one thing Tenebris did get out of him? A lot of self developed grief that he was a pro at helping her bring out. It was one of the few reasons she even agreed to let him come with her.

"Enjoy it while you can. You're hanging out with a lot of red fang's people persons. You're more like a thorn then I am. Hehehehe... karma i-"

Before she could get another word out a loud crackle sounded behind her where the two dopes were following. Oh right, the monsters showed up! Or monster.. gosh everything was always so disappointing and dumb.

"Gee whiz! That must have felt gooood❤! Isn't karma something? Heroes think they have it in spades, but nope! It's a dagger in your back and it just keeps stabbing you! See how reali-"

There was the white suited man... singing? His songs were as dumb and corny as he was! ....damnit.

"Hehehe... of course you better not die! Death is the reward hehehehehe, after lots of grief❤! That attack sounded strooong... .d-didn't that....h-hurt.... *twitch*?"

His song was bothering her more than it likely should have. The Crystalite was then grasped by vines. in the crystal place? Okay.

"R-red Power! RED POWER! REEEED POOOOOOOWERRRRR!"

Tenebris had no idea why she was shouting so loud to cast something she never thought she would again. She refused to use it the same way. Her body began to radiate a reddish light. Yet even now some remnants of the lighter hues from the Luv Luv Magica set of abilities remained. Still she did not want to hear his stupid song and...

Those vines... made her get a weird flashback that lasted maybe a single second. She was feeling all sorts of ways and wanted to be rid of the sight sooner than later.

"Hehehe... I don't need heart or singing ridiculous crap to power up! Time to shoot things❤!"

Taking the red aura around her. It fused with her arrow as she fired it slamming into the Crystalite and teariing several vines off the monster in the process. The vines... so many vines.... both so wonderfully painful but also... also.. it made her extremely angry for some reason.

With a brilliant combination of buffs, crowd control, and then the classic ‘axe’ maneuver, the crystallite was snared and then shattered, another collection of crystalline shrapnel scattering against the arcane barrier that Cain had pulled up just in time. It was almost a bit eerie how well they were working together despite how much they must have wanted to strangle each other in the most unattractive fashion ever…but hey, love and hate were two sides of the same coin, especially for the Paradoxical Magical Girl that was Magi Heart, so the midnight haired muse didn’t mind it too much. Cain was the singing, unarmored tank, Harveste was their snaring naturamancer who had her own tune, and, going by the raw vocals she was blasting out so far, Magi Heart was their glorious DPS archer, rapping with amateur skill and plenty of hatred.

“Red power, huh?” Cain mused for just a moment, before the crystal passage bared its fangs towards the unlikely trio once more. As brilliant and swift as their synchronized attacking had been, the chamber they were in had carried their proud warcries far too deeply, and he could hear them very clearly now, the cry of the savage beasts within. Bounding towards them, a herd of lupine beasts charged at them from the radiant shadows. Almost fully consumed by the freakish infection that was oh-so prominent in Crystallized Zalra, their eyes were devoid of hunger or purpose, instead lit up by an instinct-destroying madness as hooved feet cracked the rock beneath. White froth bubbled from their clenched jaws, as the dying beasts came at them with murderous intent.

    Hah.

    Made him laugh.

Wasn’t this how he met Eldhi before? Chased by beasts after failing to wipe them out with his own power? If he ran away here, would she come out of the blue once more, galloping about while cutting through them with brilliant arcs of light accompanying each powerful swing?

The smile darkened, the tempo of his banner swings picking up, a furious gale swishing around him as magical output accelerated, the aether rushing through his imaginary veins.

There was a higher chance of Ursa rising from the dead due to divine intervention and tossing a dozen divine artifacts in his face before launching off into a new server on top of a functional rocket ship.

“Red power, red power, red power~”

Making a cutesy little song out of Magi’s own ‘incantation’, the midnight haired muse spared a mischievous wink in the magical girl’s direction, before his form disappeared in an amethyst flash, reappearing upside down, above the pack. Coiling his legs against the ceiling of the passageway, Cain’s grin turned feral as magenta brilliance consumed the Ivory Reminiscence, the closest magical coloration he could get to ‘red’. A dozen petals splayed out from before him, sigil script lining the magical display, as the flagpole resonated with the self-destructive emotions of all within the Crystal Passage.

Red Power~ <3 feat. Magical Punisher Magi Heart!”

One beam shot out from each petal, thoroughly saturating the area with destructive magic, explosions mingled with the shattering of stone and the screaming of savages.

And, like every other super cool badass, Cain kicked off the ceiling, somersaulted once, before elegantly landing on his feet, not even looking at the explosion.

Considering her skill set, Harveste felt oddly confident fighting beasts like wolves. She'd never be able to tame one, sure- but she could surely grapple them with her vines, and she had other ways of treating them to a swift death as well. While she didn't like to kill necessarily, the joys of a fight weren't lost on her.

Considering these creatures seemed practically possessed as they were, she had no real concern for their inner desires like she might if she was trying to blend her mind with it. Cain's focus didn't quite appear to be on the beasts, or so the girl believed- so, she'd focus on them. Instead of thinking of protecting, however, she just wanted to end their suffering- because something told her their infection was far from joyous. She knew the way the darkness could harm the soul- and these creatures surely had it happening right now.

Pulling out her grimoire- a green, somewhat messy book that was full of pages devoid of real organization, the girl began to sing again, this time hugging the book open on a specific page, close to her heart. "From here I request you stay away, or like a Venus trap they'll bite all day~"

    skill
    Poisonous Protectors

Unlike the vines from before, her new minions she called upon weren't her usual 'poisonous barb' she'd use to keep her enemies at bay from fear of disturbing their health. These plants were a unique one she chose to pray for just because of the enemy at hand. After all, why wouldn't one use the 'bane of dogs' against canine-like creatures?

She kept the dogsbane that lived like its own creature near her, turning to both @Magi Heart and @Cain Darlite with a dim, direct gleam in her eyes. "Both of you, stay away from these plants. I can control them, but that doesn't mean I can make them less poisonous to you than they'll be to our friends here." She knew the dangers of calling upon something known to create cardiac arrest in those that touched it.

Thus, she wouldn't touch her 'friend', the herbacious plant that didn't quite fit in the setting. She'd merely command it with song and her heart's desires, watching the plants move like critters to tag the lupine beasts and give quick doses of poison in hopes they'd pass on quickly, leaving the group alone. To the plants that fought fiercely, she smiled and spoke with a soft tone.

"Please work... We need to move on, my friends. There's still much left to see and do."
