Merkaba watched as the giant spider queen sprayed it's venom unto the fools that challenged it. Incredible... there were creatures in this dimension that Merkaba had to learn more about. She wanted to learn their tongue, their ways, how to align herself or better, how to enslave them to her will. Truly she would need a dark army to assist her in spreading her dark word over this dimension. She leaned against a nearby tree, one of the few that were still standing in the ensuing chaos, and watched some more. How amusing that her mere presence here was likely keeping that Jack Anders fool alive. The beings of the dark must have had some unspoken understanding. Even with her having pestered it to increase it's fury. The spider did not retaliate against her but rather continued to assault the weak fools that dared to oppose it.

There was a aspect of the creature that Merkaba could not help but be curious about though. Was it possible for her to really hurt it? Honestly even with her confidence in her power. She had not yet caused it any obvious pain or damage. Even though they were literally play shots she was sending at it. It was a bit disappointing that she had not caused even a scratch. Elizabeth must have been more in control of Merkaba's power than she had thought. Then... why not try something a bit stronger? A real spell this time? Merkaba's 'wings' would flutter against the tree bark as her hand swept upwards in a arch before her. Leaving a trail of black mist. She began to run her hand quickly through the air. Forming one of the unholy symbols of her dark gods. A pentagram appeared beneath her for a moment as dark fire rose up for a split second at her feet. With a flash of her red eyes. Merkaba closed her hand. It now glowed dark purple. She turned her head to look at the queen. Hopefully she wont take this too bad. It was a must for Merkaba though. Sorry.

Her fist opened and a dozen or razor back shards shot into the air and homed in towards the spider. Striking the lower right side of it's rear end. Rampage little spider... rampage...

The battle was still going and Magi Heart was starting to worry if her energy level would keep up with the consumption demand. She was having to cast a heal or buff every few seconds. This was really advanced! At least, it better be cause the young girl could not even imagine what the Ultimate Candy Storm Revolution hard mode version of this would be. Yeesh! Taking a few steps back as the arachnid spit more nasty stuff. This time a venomous attack. How was Magi managing to avoid all this stuff? Maybe cause she never shot at it. Yeah, best to continue that then. No shooting and making the scary spider lady mad at her. Nope!

Then Magi Heart heard a loud screeching of profanity from a distance. It sounded muffled and in pain actually. Was there a girl in trouble? Checking the participating members section of her battle menu. Magi Heart saw someone named Olive... hmmm, had she heard or read that name before? More screams of very bad things came from her general direction. This Olive person was really upset Wendy thought. Closing the menu she decided to help her out. Maybe she would stop being so angry and using so many bad words!

Magi Heart focused her pure heart into yet another healing magic!

Given all of the rigorous attempts at running and attacking, Astor found himself nearly depleted of his entire energy reserve. This fact wasn’t known to him given that he raised his arm and attempted to cast a fire spell from his position. It was much easier to hit now without all the tall trees around.

“Nahz agula ventis ofos meludiah aluda” he chanted briefly as a fire ball began forming at the tip of his fingers. However, it quickly fizzled out as a warning popped up on screen, alerting him that he was reaching dangerously low energy level. Cutting his attack short. Astor groaned in frustration as he stomped on the ground. The Spider Bitch was in the open too and he had such a perfect shot… if only her had more energy to use.

But there was no helping it now, he just needed to rest for a while the rest of the pick-up group do their work. Since he had free time, he casually retreated further away from the ongoing fight. He found himself on a hill, overseeing the battle from a somewhat high vantage point did help him see what was going on a little better.

After he’s made his observation, he opened his palm menu and access the chat.

I’ve exhausted my energy, sorry guys, I need to retreat for a bit and recuperate.

In the meantime, @Troy Marshal @Amane Hirota, I think the Spider Queen is poisoning our tanks or something, can we dispel it or no?

Are there any tank to help @Aaron Marone too by the way?

Somewhere in the games information she recalled information about siege weapons, she mused over the idea of employing those contraptions here. A few catapults, ginormous arrow launcher things or a convenient pressurized scuba tank to get stuck in the queens maw and then a skilled shot to take out the beast once and for all. epic plus loot for everybody, win, the end. The size of the creature as well rose a concerning question, when it does finally timber what would happen to those folks under it hacking away at it like a Christmas turkey. Smushed was the most likely outcome and she was sure a measly heal would put those humpty dumptys back together again.

The supports made decent effort raising those health bars, she could only contribute some as well, as her spell again became available to use she spamed it over again. Seeing how her previous targets were mostly out of danger she selected the next batch on individuals ready to receive a hp boost the equivalent of a plaster patching up a chainsaw juggling accident over a puppy pen. Focusing on her targets she went through the series of motions again. Remarkably realities of this virtual world, she could feel a drain on herself now that she was actively engaged in this battle, repeatedly using the taxing spell was wereing on her. The energy coursed around her and dissipated, the healing benefits whizzing off to their recipients. Wearied from this ongoing effort 'i think i need to take pilates up or something. im wreaked'.

Rudiford was terrified when he witnessed the Spider Queen tearing the tanks apart with her green scythes. He had no idea what the glowing green was all about, but he guessed it was some kind of poison that would infect them should they get hit with it. He obviously didn’t want to get hit to find out exactly what it was.

But then an idea came to this head, surely the support might know more about it than he does. Regardless, he was far too shaken up to do anything for now. As much as he wished he could have braved his fear and help taunt the boss off the struggling tank. However, while Rudiford was moping about fear, deep inside him, a voice called out to him, convincing him to ignore the fear and get to the frontline to help. People needed him and with the red headed woman being so reckless, it was up to him now.

“AARGH! Dammit, I hate myself and my heroism sometimes… I swear it’s going to take death for that hero inside me to learn not to meddle!” Rudiford shouted as he ran into the boss’s face, pushing Aaron out of the way as he taunted the boss.

“I hate you and I think you’re super nasty” he roared slashing randomly at the gargantuan Queen.

As Nalani rushed towards the West side, she fell into place beside a few other adventurers, focusing on when she could get in her next hit. It was then that a tall, familiar figure caught her gaze in the corner of her eye, and glancing over to the side she spotted Jack, who was looking at her curiously as well until he glanced away. Her cheeks lit up in a soft red colour as she remembered what had happened not to long ago, pulling sub-consciously on her hat before turning back to the Spider Queen, only to be pulled away by the small beep of a message that got her focus.

    Fancy seeing you here, Kitten.
    @Nalani Rosa

Immediately she lit up once again like a Christmas tree, shaking her head as if trying to ignore the flirty comment given by the other mage. It didn't help that he was really really attractive, nor did it help that he asked her on a date, which was not something she had been asked on in a while. She just had to remember it was a game, right? It was all just fun, so it probably wasn't even a big deal. But she couldn't help but glance back over only to see him run away towards the other side of the gigantic spider. A little ball of disappointment welled up in her chest, but she ignored it, turning away and back onto the task at hand.

It was then that she felt some kind of warmth flood through her, creasing her eyebrows together. Some kind of buff? No matter, she had to put it to good use. So pointing her wand back at the spider queen again and aiming for her side, she muttered a couple words and shot out a more vibrant jolt of violet this time, which seemingly danced through the air until hit her hard. She grinned in delight at her progress and looked around at the West area, grin quickly turning into a frown. It was getting pretty crowded... Here's to hoping her luck would last and the queen wouldn't strike here next.

People say that the third time's the charm. It wasn't. Neither was the fourth, fifth, or sixth times either. Small victories have renewed her resolve but it did nothing to the major failures that stung and dragged Alpha back down. Terry squealed, having narrowly dodged a nasty bed of corrosive acid which seemed to flood the battlefield like the ocean sea to a basin or reservoir. An idea popped into her head, grinning at Terry. "Stay clear, boy!" she bid him farewell with a wave, hopping onto one of the spider's legs, latching on and clutching it like it was her ticket to her dreams. She began scuttling upwards, dagger at her waist. "This is what I came here for; this is adventure!" she laughed, unsheathing her dagger to wave it around maniacally.

With a confident smirk and uproarious cheer, she began climbing up the spider's leg and made way to the beast's body. She managed to get onto the Spider Queen's back and, victoriously, she shouted. "YOLO!" and plunged the blade straight into the creature's back, blood guzzling out. "Look at me @Nalani Rosa!"

A scowl formed upon Jack's face as he witnessed the tainted strike. Pausing briefly to open up his party interface, he'd inspect the buff curiously while comparing the effects it had to the tool tip. It seemed accurate enough, however mechanics like these tended to not be so straightforward in his experience. Opening up the palm communicator in one hand, he'd quickly send a brief blip to his tanky friend, advising him on the best course of action. Knowing Aaron, the man was probably lost on how to properly proceed due to the previous hit to his confidence.

Hey man! You holding up over there? Try to keep that boss on you for a bit more if you can! Don't let Rudi rip agro off just yet. I've got a bad feeling about this if we just let people tank swap all willy nilly...
    @Aaron Marone

Upon sending the message, his eyes would fall upon a comical figure crawling atop the monster with endless bravado. A loud laugh was had, at least until he had seen the damage output. Eyes wide open, he'd nod once approvingly while starting a slow clap with both hands. At the same time, a chant was made as he'd encourage the spunky girl to continue her killing spree.

    "Boli maldifidii ast kiranann!"

Olive felt rejuvenated; her wounds began to stitch and heal up and she felt refreshed like never before. With the restoration of her well-being, her confidence came back twelve-fold. She stuck both of her fingers up at the Spider Queen. "YOU SEE THAT YOU MOTHERFUDGER?! I'M GONNA TEABAG YOU SO HARD AFTER THIS YOU SHRIVELING NUTSACK THAT YOU CAN'T FEEL YOUR FUDGING UGLY FACE!" she screamed profanities. Underneath her rough demeanor, however, was pride.

Of course she was strong and glorious enough to heal her own wounds. She preened. Wasn't she the best? She certainly thought so with an arrogant smile rightfully placed on her lips.

Leon breathed in and out as he flicked the magic screen open with his right hand. He had managed to get most of his body out of the web of goo at this point and was, luckily, able to actually attack. A basic set of spell names flickered on as he scrolled through them, hastily stumbling in trying to get a suitable attack to at least damage the beast a little. He eyed a spell. Death Whispers. What an edgy and completely unnecessary name. Leon had actually spent a few essential, life-threatening seconds just burying his face into his hands as he tried to muster up the courage to use such an embarrassing spell. Sighing, he tried to ignore any attention the chants his lips were making by their own volition.

"Burn the Heretic. Kill the Mutant. Purge the Unclean."

This was way too gritty for him and he hoped that he wouldn't die of embarrassment before the Spider Queen killed him herself. He watched as the spell blasted through and shot at the Spider Queen and—was that a child on its back?

Without another thought, he rushed forward to try and scoop that kid off of that very dangerous, precarious position. What are they even teaching kids these days?!

Aaron shouted in pain as the envenomed attack struck him. To take damage and have your health lower as a result was a painful experience. To take damage in such a way that the total amount of life that you can have within in, however, was an altogether difference experience. Aaron felt strength and energy being sucked out of him. Wounds that before he might have been able to shrug off, he knew now would actually cause him great pain. Would it recover? Would he go back to being normal? Was this the cost of being a hero, forever growing weaker and weaker from the creatures you face, doomed to one day fall over to a stiff breeze?

All of Aaron's friends seemed to pass through his head. He saw Alphabet. He saw Jack. He saw Felicitas, strangely enough, having only really done anything with the girl once or twice. He saw Lina, and Molly. Aaron gripped his sword tightly. "Fuck you," he said to the spider. "You think that hurt?" He spat. "I will show you pain!" He shouted, and swung his sword up to meet the creature.

Yet having one's maximum health reduced is a rather shaking experience. Despite his resolve, Aaron was shaky, and his aim untrue. Didn't even scratch the creature, let alone anything that would do damage.

"Whatever, fine. I don't need to do damage to you. You and me are gonna be locked here for eternity, If that's the best you can do to me, you will never kill me! You hear me, you weak cretchin? I may not be the boot that crushes you, but I will be the rock you never move!"

Sera mused for a moment. Most the people she'd been healing were smart enough to fall back a bit to give their health time to recover and to receive some healing. However, since there were two idiots who didn't decide to do that, those two needed to be focused on first so they wouldn't die.

Sera's heart sank when she saw that Olive Westfield was one of the heavily damaged people still fighting right near the boss. "No, fuck that, anyone but her." She looked around and saw a boy, who's health wasn't quiet as low, but still very low, fighting still as well. "Perfect," she muttered. She began the healing chant, having Roy floating up to meet her free hand.

"Let wrath burn away those who stand before you. Let greed drive you to greater heights. Let fear be instilled in those who stand against you. Let your will never faulter. Let your hope grow. Have compassion for those who need it. Have love for those who give it. But above all.... embrace life."

She released the spell and a rainbow of light would swirl around the boy, restoring his health.

Dimly, she noticed some heavily armored wannabe hero just got hit really hard by the boss, but his health didn't seem like it went down much, and he had a "holier than thou" air to him. He could wait a while longer before she would heal him, she decided.

It was chaos - even as spells, support, blades, and all sorts of cursing missed or met it's mark on the colossal 'Queen of Arachnids' - they had yet to even get her health to a QUARTER. "Shit, shit, shit, shit!" He screamed outwardly and internally as the monstrous spider-woman turned north, towards his direction. "I hate spiders, SO GOD DAMN MUCH!" He roared roared angrily using his rage propel him to even greater heights of physical feats.

His demonic eye burned brightly underneath it's fringe as he charged at the questionably attractive half woman - half widow from hell with a battle cry of pure unadulterated rage and annoyance. "You gods forsaken piece of shittttt!" Jumping up using the very few and currently falling trees to launch himself upwards.

Mugetsu then slashed down on one of her long, thin, spindly legs. Slashing down with all of the might of an unequipped noob and dealing a pitiful 12 Hit Points of damage. Landing in a crouch he mentally sighed as he watched their efforts barely do anything. '...This is gonna be a loonnngggg night...'

Amane strafed to the left, clasping a menu screen tightly with her right hand as she scrambled over fallen trees and overturn shrubbery, all the while keeping one eye firmly on the boss, and the other on her spell list and energy bar, the latter of which was inching back to full strength even as she ran. Her cooldowns, too, were almost up, and with a sigh of determination she swung to face the boss — still at a distance, but now slightly more towards her right.

She'd barely been in battle, and yet her muscles ached as much as she imagined they would have if she had done a couple of laps around a field instead. Though her in-game avatar's energy level was as good as full, the desperation, the screams of both anger and pain that surrounded her, the charged atmosphere of recklessness and abandon were weighing on her mind and sapping her strength just as much as the spell that she had previously cast. Primarily seeing VR as a hobby for "slackers", she had never imagined gaming to be as intense as this.

Awe for the melee fighters and tanks swelled in her heart, both tempered and bolstered by the fear that gripped her spine. Even far from the action as she was, Amane could feel trepidation sink and bubble at the core of her gut, her muscle all tensed, just waiting for an attack to be hurled at her direction. To face the boss straight on, beholding it's grotesque visage in all its magnified glory, required a strength of character that she doubted she'll be able to muster at this point in time. Perhaps with more experience...aye, one day she would.

And for now, her first step will be aiding the defeat of Arachna.

Thankfully, none of her spells so far require her to chant an incantation in order to activate them, and so once again she poured her energy into her gut, concentrating it and sending it outwards, towards and through her hands. It bursts out as currents of light, golden streamers that weaved through the sky, deftly sent to lock straight onto their intended targets. Some of them went so far that she could hardly see the effect that they caused, but the energy drop that immediately accompanied her actions told her that she was successful.

Looking back at her menu, the cooldown newly reset, Amane prepared herself for the next round.

With the world boss now focused on his previous quest-mate, Aaron, Ortix decided this would be the perfect time to strike. He ran forward at the same leg as always with devilish persistence. This time he was determined to actually cause some damage. He took a stance just beneath the Spider Queen and thrusted upward. The head of the spear jammed directly into the spider's previously received wounds. A sudden profusion of spoiled blood gushed onto Ortix's face as his spear was release from it's flesh.
