Honestly, Luna was glad that she'd chosen to stick close to the same village she'd saved that woman in for a little while, at least until she'd gotten used to the game a little more than she'd been when she'd been through that whole ordeal. At least the people she was meeting weren't all that bad, she'd been worried she'd run into people that would steal from the NPCs, or worse. After all, to most people it was probably just a game and whatever they did in the game didn't matter to them outside of it. She never could quite understand that sort of mindset, yet she always found herself pondering it whenever she sat around in the forest, relaxing and doing some deeper thinking. Currently, she could be found sat on a log in a clearing with a watering hole, watching as birds landed by the small pond to take drinks, or smaller rodents scurried through the taller grass to get their fill of water too. It was something she didn't get to appreciate that often, living in a large city for her entire life, being able to bask in the different beauty of nature. It was oddly freeing that she didn't have a mobile phone to distract her, or some sort of email to reply to, or her browser open with some sort of music playing in the background. Here it was just her and her thoughts, though she did occasionally wish for a book when she began to run out of things to think about. And she'd thought about quite a lot. Nature, her home in the real world, school, the game. Not much hadn't been pondered at this point, though there were a couple of scorch marks on the floor, from where she'd practiced with the one spell she could actually use. It seemed to stun something for a brief moment, causing pretty much insignificant damage. Beyond that, she actually hadn't touched her second spell at all yet. She wanted to make sure that she had enough energy to make it back to the village safely, though she was determined to watch the sunset from this clearing if she could. It wouldn't be long now, either. It was actually rather nice to be almost ignored by the animals, thanks largely in part to her Beast Taming mastery, despite having no real skill with it yet. It wasn't really like they actively sought her out, or crawled all over her. They just didn't seem to think she was much of a threat, so long as she made sure not to move around too much or to make much noise. Honestly, she was probably the most relaxed she'd been since the game had loaded up, having been a nervous wreck whenever she was faced with anybody, especially whilst she'd been saving that woman. For now though, she was content to sit here and wait for the sunset, before making her way back to the village. And now that she'd been there, she could find it fairly easily again. @Orion Sage
The wind blew across his face, he could feel the cool air nipping at the tip of his nose, but this thick beard protecting the majority of his face. Orion took a moment and looked up towards the sun from underneath the thick foliage. It was so weird that he could say that he felt the wind in a game. It was an amazing time to be alive, and he loved every moment of this. The mountain-esque man spawned with some very basic cloth clothing that looked to fit him rather awkwardly. He’d have to remember when he got enough gold or resources that he would probably have to commission something probably a little more to his tastes. And something that spoke to his chosen masteries. The few people that he ran into assumed he was some melee combat type. They always did. Orion had meandered into a nearby forest looking for some low-level creatures to grind out some experience. He knew that he wouldn’t be that much of a boon to any team at such a low mastery level. He still didn’t understand the entirety of it. He knew he sat in the empty grey room probably spending way too long to create his in-game avatar. It looked remarkably close to himself, probably just a little bulkier. Which made him chuckle for a reason he quite didn’t understand. Once he entered the forest he didn’t realize how many of the beasts that inhabited were so strong. Definitely stronger than a healer could take out. Well, maybe they weren’t since his access to a healing spell, but it was so slow, even for ‘Non-Threatening’ beasts such as rabbits. He managed to, luckily enough, catch a glimpse of a wolf. Its name was flashed in yellow as Orion concentrated letting him know the beast was indeed dangerous at his current level. Thankfully it was heading the opposite direction allowing Orion to make a wide detour. The problem with said detour was that he had no idea where he was going now. He knew that if he went one exact way he could get back to town, but now… well, he definitely wasn’t a scout or ranger for sure. “Fantastic” the burly man mumbled underneath his breath. “Now where do I go” Orion looked around over and over as if each time he would look in a direction something new would make itself known to him. Orion thought to himself a very non-funny joke about what happens when you lose a bear in the forest. He quickly dismissed it, as he couldn’t think of a proper punchline. He shrugged. “Maybe if I head back to where the wolf was….and just maybe….or I could…. That won’t work…North….” The random babblings of a lost man had ensued. It was pure coincidence Orion stumbled across the small clearing with a small pond in the center of it. The oaf fumbled towards the center and dipped his hands in the pond splashing himself in the face. He didn’t even bother to notice the young lady sitting on a log, nor that he scared away her princess-style scene of furry creatures that had lept, flew, and bound back into the cover of the woods. @Luna Avalbane
It was rather suddenly that most of the animals in her clearing suddenly became alert, so suddenly startling that Luna herself nearly fell into a panic, glancing around before the creatures rushed off, scurrying back into the undergrowth or flying up into the canopies, where they were presumably safe from whatever was approaching. Luna bit her lip, adjusting her position so that she was ready to make a run for it, seeing a large shape appear from the forest. At first, she thought what she'd seen had been a bear. She'd never seen a person quite so big and buff looking, before a further glance proved that it had in fact been a man that had entered the clearing, rushing over to the pond and taking some water to splash himself in the face. Had he been out in the woods for a while now? Was that why he seemed so turned around and almost clumsy? She wasn't really annoyed that all the animals had left, it wasn't his fault that animals would nearly always have a natural fear towards humans, after all. And he couldn't help that he hadn't noticed something he wouldn't be able to see until he'd entered the clearing. Even so, she had to admit that she did kind of miss the peaceful chirping of the birds and the chattering of the squirrels. Still, it was probably a good idea to announce her presence, lest he thought she was spying on him or something more nefarious. "U-um, hello there!" She called out, swallowing to try and wash the nervousness away somewhat. She didn't want to be known as somebody that couldn't speak without stuttering, dang it! She could be brave if she wanted to! "Ah, uh, are you....lost by any chance?" She asked, remaining where she was. She still had no way of knowing if everything was safe, but she couldn't exactly turn him away if he needed help. It'd be pretty wrong of her to just leave somebody out here, lost with no where to go. @Orion Sage
The water fell from his hands as his gaze looked up across the small pond to the young lady sitting on the log just across from him. It took him a moment to focus, he was still getting used to the UI, but once he realized she was another player character he smiled a large cheesy smile. “Didn’t mean to startle ya there. I ha’nt had water since I logged in and my water gauge thing was droppin’. I mean I know I could have lasted a while longer but….” He slowly began to stand up revealing just how large he actually was. “Better to be safe than sorry, am I right” He laughed. It was a loud booming laugh, which probably startled off any nearby creatures if there were any left. “And Hello to you!” he said scratching just behind his ear, the overly large smile still intact. Her next question threw him off just a bit. Was it that obvious? Was this one of those games that gave newbie players a special icon so everyone would know about their newbness. Whatever the case, his beaming smile faded into a shameful grin. “You could see that easily then, huh?” He was out here with no gear except for the scrap of clothing they gave when you started. “Yeah. You see I just logged in and thought it best to head into the forest to kill some critters. One thing lead to another and now… I don’t reckon which way to go to head back to town.” He looked over at the girl just noticing her for the first time now. She wasn’t too much shorter than him only about by half a foot or so, which was saying a lot. Her long pale hair, much like his own, swept lovingly and he couldn’t tell how long it was, just that it was fairly long. In the moment of quietness, he let out a huge laugh for no apparent reason. “Excuse me… Just you saving me. I find it mighty anti-cliché” He snorted this time unable to contain his laughter. He then realized that the statement probably came off just a little bit rude, so he hurried to correct himself. “Not that it’s a bad thing! Actually, I love it. I’m a huge fan of being anti cliché.” @Luna Avalbane
"A-ah, I see. Y-yeah, I'd say that it's always better to be safe, if you can..." She'd also nearly fallen to the trap of letting her water gauge fall far lower than she was actually comfortable leaving it at, once upon a day ago. She'd totally forgotten that the game did require you to eat, drink and rest as if you weren't actually in a game, though the warning from her UI had soon set her straight on that little tidbit. At least now she was far less likely to wind up dead, trying to travel somewhere without gathering the proper equipment and rations before the journey even started. Even so, now that she got a good look at the man in the clearing with her, she could see just how larger than life he actually appeared to be. He was large, almost like a bear that was standing on its hind legs, with obviously powerful muscles which had her questioning whether or not a player's build in the game affected the physical strength that their character had and could use? Or was it purely based on statistics and masteries? Could she lift a greatsword as she was? It wasn't stuff she'd actually thought to question before she'd seen somebody with quite as muscular a body, though now that she thought about it the more she had to wonder if a player's design choices actually mattered in the long run. The fact that he'd been hunting down the smaller creatures wasn't much of a surprise either, she'd seen other do the same after all, so it seemed like the thing most new players did when they first joined the game. And then there was the whole thing about him being lost, plus whatever he meant by an anti-cliche, which Luna honestly wasn't sure how she should react too. Obviously he hadn't meant any offense, but was this situation really all that strange. "U-um, I could....y'know....show you the way to the village I've been sticking around? F-from there, it uh, should be easy enough to make some journeys if you, uh, stick to the paths and stuff.." She offered, fiddling with her hands in front of her, sneaking peeks at the sky whenever she could. The sun was about to set, but now she had somebody that needed help. "B-b-but um, i-if you don't mind....I um, kind of wanted to watch the sun set before I headed back...?" @Orion Sage
This game was so undeniably surreal. The fact they were talking about having to keep his water up, and just moments ago he actually felt thirsty. Never in a game had an IRL sensation translated over to a game so flawlessly, so seamlessly as if he didn’t even remember he was in a game. He remembered one of the full dive games he had played before it had a similar ‘life gauges’ system, but it vibrated and flashed a warning light in front of your eyes. Not hear. He was thirsty, and he assumed he’d get hungry and tired. It was an astonishing revelation, but it was more than welcomed. Orion’s attention returned to the girl in front of him. She ended her sentence with a rather bleak statement. “Not if you can!” He happily retorted “Always!” Orion was always just so…over the top... Even as the nearly naked self that he was he was confident to the point where he could tell her to always be safe. As if one could actually control that? This was an MMO, the point was not to be too safe. To get experience you had to fight challenging monsters, go on dangerous quests, and venture deadly dungeons. All of that was the definition of ‘if you can’. Orion didn’t overthink it, as he made his way around the pond. He stopped within a few feet of the girl. He didn’t know the proper greeting for another player, as he hadn’t encountered one yet. So he did what was customary in real life and extended his hand outward. “My name is Orion, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance.” It was a large hand, with thick fingers with a few silvered hairs on his knuckles. This was the point of joining an MMO, so he could meet other people. If he wanted to be antisocial he could join a single player game and it probably would be more enjoyable as it all centered on himself. But that wasn’t the kind of man Orion was. He loved being surrounded by people, conversing, joking, and yes, even just watching the sunset. “That would be glorious!” He guffawed loudly into the woods. Again… experiencing all of these firsts was a real eye-opener, and he had to partly thank the young lady beside him. One doesn’t think when they head into a game to watch the sunset. But there they were, sitting, waiting to bask underneath the rays of pinks, purples, and golds. “How long have you been playing? Do you enjoy it?” He asked in quick succession. Orion was never good with silence, and it hadn’t even occurred to him that she may have wanted the silence to enjoy the sunset. So, on he went trying to get to learn his new acquaintance. Maybe one day she would be the difference between going on a quest or not, or even as far as life and death. One could never be sure. @Luna Avalbane
"A-ah right, yes o-of course! A-a-always!" Was this man always so excessive and positive? It was fairly refreshing, to be perfectly honest, as a change to the typical idea of gamers that the world had become accustomed to. They weren't all shut ins, or anti-social introverts, or children being brainwashed by a medium that tried to teach them that their choices had no significance. She'd heard all of those stereotypes used, but she could really say that the people she'd met didn't seem to fit any of those predetermined groups. Though, the thought did occur to her that she was basing opinions off of the characters that the people created and acted as whilst they were logged in. There was a chance that any of them could be completely different once they'd logged out of the game. Anything could be different, from age, to gender to even how they acted and spoke. Somebody that was a paragon for justice in the game could be a rather selfish person outside of the game. It was like a lottery, you could never completely predict what a person would be like. She supposed it was that sort of thing that made her both wary and excited when she met somebody new, that feeling of mystery and intrigue as she tried to piece together just what sort of person she was speaking to. She smiled, studying Orion's hand for a moment, before extending one of her own to meet his. Alright! This time she would definitely introduce herself properly! Today was the day she accomplished it! "Ah, um, my name is L-Luna. It's n-nice to meet you, mister Orion..." Haha! Yes! She'd managed it. All it took was a simple slip to give away her real name! Eva wasn't very long and could slip out in an instant, if she wasn't careful with what she was saying. He seemed happy to stay with her until the sun finally set, though his loud proclamation of the fact probably made sure that no more animals would visit them until the two left the clearing. That was fine though, some company was a little nice, for a change. Angel messaged her somewhat often, but occasionally she started to crave another person to talk to, even if she wasn't exactly the best at talking to others. It wasn't her fault that she wanted to be a people person, yet was just too nervous to really embrace the outgoing lifestyle she desired. "H-how long? A few days now, maybe two or three?" She glanced down at her hand, quickly counting off on her fingers, before nodding to herself. "A-and I really enjoy the game! I, uh, wouldn't say I'm much good at it yet, b-but it's very in depth and realistic. T-there are all sorts of sensations, l-like the breeze against your skin, or the grass beneath your feet! E-even the small, fine fur of the mice! It all feels so real." She was almost gushing with enthusiasm, she never failed to get excited over just how in depth the game was. "H-how are y-you finding it so far? I-I remember my first log in to b-be very....intensive..." @Orion Sage
Orion probably looked like the biggest little kid while they sat in the clearing. This man was the epitome of ADD. He couldn’t sit still to save his life. In fact, if there was ever a boss fight that required them to stay still, Orion would definitely be dead. At first, it wasn’t that bad. He went from standing to kneeling, to sitting, back to kneeling, then to sitting in another position. All in the lapse of 10 or so minutes. Then he was messing with the various sprouting flowers nearby. He was smelling the different varieties, pulling their petals, smashing the stem between his sausage-like fingers and generally just being… restless. All of this happening between his and Luna’s conversation. Orion had always been a people person or at least attempted to be. His stature, even in real life, left people a little intimidated by him, but he still made a valiant effort to smile and be a positive influence on the people around him. That is why he took the masteries that he did when he created his character. A ‘tanky-support’ type is what he imagined himself. Obviously right now that wasn’t the case, but he’d get there…eventually. “Three days!? Amazing” He congratulated Luna on her tenure. Again Orion had a habit of taking the smallest of accomplishments and turning them into a big deal. “I imagine you a top-notch player. Probably best in class if you were pitted against everyone else that has been here 3 days. Maybe even 4 days!” He smiled, now sitting up his knees against his chest surrounded by his bulky arms. Orion found himself always in some sort of party leader role when he played games like this. Not because he was always the strongest, smartest, or even the best. But because he had a knack for pulling people together, and this was his attempt to do just that, though he had no real inclination of how it was actually going. He just knew that Luna was the first person that he met in Terra, and firsts usually stick with you; so he was going to try and make this memorable experience positive. And he wasn’t even doing it obviously. This overflow of positiveness came naturally. “Ahh yes. The sensations. They definitely take some getting used to. I was just as stunned as you when I could feel the breeze nip at my nose and flow through my beard. It was marvelous! That and having to actually concentrate to see game mechanics. You don’t see bars floating over everyone’s head. It makes it supremely realistic.” His tone matched her own enthusiasm. He looked up to the young lady on the log. “As for the mice fur, I’ll take your word for it” he chuckled nervously. “Yes. I’m loving it so far. Today is my first day, and I’m still just learning the basics so to say. I barely learned to open my menu a few hours ago” His arm reached behind his head and a slight pink color covered his cheeks. That was probably the first thing anyone learned when they first logged into the game. “Though, finding and hunting creatures that won’t outright flatten me has become a problem.” His complexion returned so its normal color. “Don’t do much damage as a healer, especially at such low mastery”. This was the first time he alluded to his Masteries. Though there were a couple types of healers in the game, all of them had the same idea to them. Low damage, high support…obviously. Later in boss events, he’d be useful, or even in a party. But by himself, he was a little, well, lackluster to say the least. @Luna Avalbane
She quickly discovered that the giant of a man was rather restless, especially for somebody that looked his age, even though she remembered that you could select your age and it could actually be somebody her age behind that avatar, which would make a little more sense. Still, it was a rather amusing sight to see such a gentle looking giant move around so restlessly, trying to find ways to let the time pass as the sun grew closer and closer to the horizon, the setting of the sun becoming ever so close. Just a few more minutes now, if she had to guess, though she still wasn't all that good at telling the time by the position of the sun. That'd probably change with a little experience though, even if it wouldn't serve her all that well among the high rise building of New York. "U-um, yeah. The whole mechanic with hiding the health bars and the UI until you actually try to s-see them was a r-really clever design..." She smiled, shrugging as she struggled to figure out what to do with her hands, still lacking pockets. Hopefully if she ever bought any gear, they'd come with pockets or something to fiddle with. And hopefully they'd cover a little more, too. "A-a-and I think you're, um, giving me a little too much praise..." She blushed, looking away and playing with the bark of the log beneath her. She didn't deal with compliments all that well, especially if she hadn't really been expecting them at all. Three days wasn't much of an accomplishment, was it? "B-besides....I'm not r-really looking to fight other players...like, a-at all." She really wasn't at all keen on the thought of fighting another player controlled character, in pretty much any situation. If there was no other alternative, she supposed she could see herself fighting somebody else. If it were to defend somebody, like when she fought those slimes with Angel, she could possibly muster up the courage to raise to their defense. Probably. She honestly couldn't tell until she was in that sort of situation, but she hoped she was the sort of person that could stand up for people when they needed somebody to stand up for them. Also, it was interesting to hear that Orion has put points into a healing Mastery, much like Angel. That made two healers that she'd met so far, which was definitely an interesting fact to consider. Maybe being a healer was really popular in this game, or just in general? She wasn't all that sure, though she'd not had a whole lot in mind when she'd built her own character. Maybe some sort of righteous defender that followed the wind or something, at most? "S-so you picked a healing Mastery, d-did you? H-honestly I must say I'm slightly surprised. I-I expected Berserk, or perhaps multiple weapon Masteries. A-ah! That's not offensive, is it?" She ducked slightly, waving her hands apologetically as she dug her way back out of the figurative hole she'd dug. "I-I meant no offense, of course." @Orion Sage
His restlessness wasn’t any inclination that he didn’t want to watch the sunset or even that he was bored. He was actually quite excited to be experiencing this on his first login. It was just the fact that Orion was so scatterbrained he physically could not sit still. Hell, part of the reason he went to the gym as often as he did in real life was because he just needed something to do and blow off some energy. It wasn’t because he wanted to be healthy, or even look like some Greek god. It was boredom. Oh man, if the meatheads at the gym could hear the reasoning behind that they would flip their lids, the lot of them. Orion watched the horizon for a moment, noticing that the sunset wasn’t too far off now. Or at least it shouldn’t be. He didn’t know, nor had he realized yet if the in-game time was comparable to the outside world. Or did it move faster, or slower? Who knew? “Agreed” He nodded over to Luna in regards to the health bars and UI. “Ah, I understand. In the few other games I’ve played I do enjoy some of the pvp aspects of the game. An occasional duel here and there is always fun. Let’s you know where you’re weakest, and sometimes the community will help you increase said weakness. But that’s just me.” He looked over at her reassuringly and spoke in his most ‘dad’ tone, trying to cheer her up. Well, maybe not cheer, she didn’t seem saddened by it, but more like let her know her choices were valid, but also that sometimes there is more than one might expect. He wasn’t even a full day into the game and Orion was already subconsciously trying to become a father figure and he had no idea what he was even doing in-game. The guy had issues to say the least. With her next statement, he couldn’t help but laugh wholeheartedly. If Luna’s woodland friends had even contemplated coming back, they definitely weren’t now. The laugh echoed through the woods meandering through the trees like a gust with obstacles in a wind tunnel. “No offense taken!” another giggle-snort escaped his mouth. “I did mention I liked anti-clichés, didn’t I? Quite a fan of them. Who would expect this big lug to come in and start chanting healing spells? Like you most will except me to go into a crazy muscly rage, but nope. I’ll stupor them in the back with heals” He couldn’t stop laughing. She looked so shocked, yet embarrassed having asked, which made it all the funnier. He didn’t mean to laugh at her; well he wasn’t even laughing at her, but more at himself. He managed to squeeze in a little bit of dialogue as he gasped for air. “Quite the funny sight, don’t you agree”. A few moments later he was able to compose himself. “How about yourself? An explorer ranger type?” He honestly had no idea what her masteries could be. He hadn’t seen her do anything besides sitting on a log, and he didn’t remember a whole mastery for just sitting on things…that would be a different kind of game. @Luna Avalbane
Honestly she didn't expect many people to be like her in wanting to avoid pvp as much as they possibly could. As far as she was aware, pvp was actually pretty popular in just about every game under the sun, so it wasn't as if it was hard to believe that it would also be popular in this game too. She just wasn't all that confident in her ability to raise her weapon against another person without an extremely good reason to and even then she had her doubts as to whether or not she could actually manage to do it. Could she really raise a sword, or cast a spell against somebody that looked and acted human? Even the thought of mistreating the npc's left a bad taste in her mouth. "W-well I can see how pvp would be enjoyable, I guess. I-I just d-don't think I could, y'know, uh, attack another person like that." She hummed, looking down at her hands that were linked together by her fingers, cradled gently in her lap as she thought. "I-in non VR games....i-it's a little different. J-just a button press. H-here I...you know, have to actually swing the sword, c-c-c-c-cut through them." The thought was also a rather distressing one too. What if she got used to the idea and feeling of attacking another person? Couldn't that then end up carrying over into the real world, as her brain got used to it? How realistic was the sensation of cutting through flesh, of holding somebody as they were in pain? Yikes. It was definitely a scary thought. So it was pretty refreshing to hear that Orion had gone down the opposite route to the one she'd suspected and was walking down the path of a healer, of supporting his teammates as they fought off threats. Even as he laughed, whether at her or at himself, or maybe at some sort of inside joke, she didn't know, but a soft, almost invisible smile painted itself across her face. It was interesting, for sure, to see a man so big and so intimidating looking at first glance choose a role that seemed so calm, tame and kind. It was almost like he was aiming to be the dad of whichever party he ended up joining. It was a fairly funny thought too. She nodded, definitely agreeing with him there. As for what she'd picked, well the answer wasn't nearly as cool or interesting. She hadn't picked her Masteries with any sort of character build in mind. Though, there was a very fledgling idea floating around, more of a title she wanted to attain, really. "I-I um, I didn't pick my Masteries w-with any sort of character build in mind." She sighed, looking down at her clasped hands, before glancing at her sheathed sword. Aeromancy, Slash and Beast Taming. None of them appeared to synergize very well, at least to her. Not yet, anyway. But there was the start of an idea in her mind, a sparkle really. "I-I want to be fast, as fast and u-unpredictable as a tornado. I-I want to make sure I can reach people w-when they need help, b-be an ally to the creatures of the g-game." She explained, her smile growing a little more as she figured out exactly what she wanted to be. An explorer wasn't what she wanted to be, nor did she want to be a Ranger either. Neither of those were what she felt she should be. "I..." She hesitated. Would he laugh at her for picking a title she wanted to attain? Surely he wouldn't, right. "I-I want to be the Knight of the Wind..." @Orion Sage
“Aye. You do have a point there. Truth be told I’ve never done it myself, and now that you put it that way, it is a little morbid to think about.” Orion looked down at the grass underneath him. Would it actually be harder for him to take a ‘virtual’ life when it came to PVP because off how real everything felt? A quick moment later he shook off and chuckled. “Then again, I won’t have to experience that, I think. Won’t have to cut through anyone if I’m blasting them with magic from far away.” Truth be told he probably wouldn’t even be doing much attacking he’d be doing, to begin with. He planned on grouping up with people to anyway as soon as possible. Everyone needed a healer. Or at least he hoped. He hadn’t actually thought about the whole game situation all too much until Luna’s statement just now. He had played a few games before, definitely casual. But it was like she said. You were just looking at a screen. Pressing a button. It didn’t feel any which way. You were just looking for an achievement or something of the sort. But here in this game. Everything enveloped all of your senses. He couldn’t imagine wielding a mace while the weight of it crushed somethings skull. The way the cracking bone would reverb up the handle and into his own skeleton. And would this real sensation of killing people and things make it easier for such things to be done on the outside? If you stopped worrying about how it would feel to cut someone open. If you become accustomed to it. Second nature. Would you not mind having to do it on the outside? It was a chastening thought, to say the least. As Luna began to explain her own mastery decisions Orion noticed something for the first time. Sure the girl had been stuttering occasionally when she spoke. Some people were naturally nervous, or maybe not as articulate as they’d like to be. Whatever the case, Orion didn’t think of it as a sign of weakness. Especially so when she started to talk about her aspiration. In the moment she was talking about walking to be like a tornado. To help her allies. To be a Knight of the Wind, Orion couldn’t help but give the largest smile he could muster. So much so that it was starting to hurt his cheeks. It was the first time he noticed an inner strength about her. A goal that she had wanted and her eyes told Orion she wouldn’t stop until that goal was achieved. “Luna” He said as she stood to his feet. “You have the passion many go through life looking for, yet few obtain. I believe… no… I know you will become this Knight of the Wind, and whoever shall fight at your side will find you an influential ally” He said beaming with pride. He had no idea what this person actually looked like. If they were actually a child, adult, or what have you. But that was one thing Orion liked about video games. The group that played them were a passionate people. Unlike the many outside of this game. The ones that were dreary and finished with life. “I hope one day. When we are both stronger I have the pleasure to be at your back granting you the succor you need to succeed.” He placed his hands on his hips, doing some sort of superman pose; that was until how lame it probably looked and then chuckled at himself. “Look. It’s here!” his large broad finger raised and pointed towards the horizon. The sun was finally setting. And it was truly breathtaking. @Luna Avalbane
Yeah, the whole issue with pvp, or even just combat in general, and how it could affect a person when they left the game was a moral conundrum best left for another day, preferably one where Luna wasn't in as good a mood as she was. Honestly, since she'd started playing the game, she'd had more fun than she'd had in a few years all in the course of a few days. It was all so new and interesting, she could even cast real, tangible magic. In this world, she had power and it was almost addictive. In real life she had to go back to being an ordinary school girl with no powers or special traits to her name. "I suppose you won't, though f-from the sounds of it, i-it sounds like you plan to pick up more s-supportive spells than o-offensive ones." She was sure most of the magic types had a couple of offensive spells, though maybe a couple of the advanced ones didn't, she wasn't too sure. Honestly, at one point she'd been tempted to pick up Astramancy, but had swapped to Aeromancy at the last second. She wasn't very confident in her ability to broker a deal between herself and some otherworldly patron in order to use any of her abilities. She almost felt the need to giggle at the sight of the grin that stretched across Orion's face, it looked so odd and painful, so wide it nearly split his face horizontally to completion. She'd never quite seen a grin like it, not once could she recall seeing such a wide grin on anybody. Not even her dad had grinned quite so wide, even at his wedding. And she'd seen the photos of that day. Her dad could really smile. And hey, as a bonus, Orion wasn't even making fun of her impassioned answer to his question. Luna blushed, looking away. She didn't mean to be quite so passionate, it just slipped out at times. "U-u-um, t-t-t-thank you for your kind words! I-I-I'll do my best!" The only question was, would her best be good enough? And then the sun began to set, as was pointed out by Orion, pointing a finger to the horizon which was steadily being painted a warm orange, like paint across a black canvas. Luna found herself smiling as she stared at the setting sun, sat atop her log almost as if it were some sort of throne, legs crossed. For a moment, it was the most peaceful place in existence, as far as she knew. And maybe, just maybe, her best would be good enough after all... @Orion Sage
