  1. Angel squeaked when the girl turned around suddenly. "That makes sense..." Angel poked her finger into her chin in a thoughtful-like pose. She wasn't doing -that- much thinking. She wasn't the cerebral type. She was nearly one hundred percent all about the moment; there was just so much to think about right now and so much to take in. She was practically a toddler by this world's standards!

Still, her grin grew. Harveste was having fun, which made Angel have more fun too. "I bet with skills like yours you can make them nice to you though!" she insisted. "You're like, an honest to goodness nature fairy! It's so neat!" she nodded to herself. An energetic cutesy nature fairy that was totally different in the real world, huh?

"In the real world I don't really have a job or anything, I just moved." She shrugged. "I wanted to make online friends so I could keep them no matter where I moved, you know?" At least she didn't have adult things to worry about. Schoolwork though, well, she was probably not going to catch up after finding this game...

  2. The slight stalling as Angel's statement trailed off left the littler of the two all the more curious. What was going through that mind? A mind that was so energetic must have loads of interesting things going on inside. That was her ultimate conclusion- but to find out more, she'd have to study the girl. If she was lucky, she'd learn how to get to be energetic herself.

"It's not like I'm a beast tamer... I just have the ability to use their bodies for a little while. Some of them are nicer to me than others, but I've still met plenty that tried to hurt me 'cause of Darwin's law. Or I'm assuming that's the reason. Honestly can't tell what aggravates them sometimes."

In that sense, she realized, the animals and monsters were a lot like people. They were unpredictable and confusing, some were good to her and some were not. Some had magic, some were simply living their lives with their feet as their main weapons to get food.

Perhaps this was reality in its finest moment?

"I'm a writer. I make money from it, but half the time it doesn't make me feel like a working adult by any means." She laughed lightly as she admitted the truth. She'd had people who heard she was a writer and flip out over how amazing it was, but there were plenty of others who asked about her 'real job' instead. It was just one of those more lucrative things. "So you just moved? That's never easy... Make sure to use the game to get a good breather from the hard work you're putting in!"

  3. What was going on in Angel's head not even Angel could guess by the time Harveste mused about it. She'd already moved on from considering the, well, consideration of slime genders and was onto other things. Like how her new friend was apparently an adult who wrote. "Wow, that sounds like a neat job though," she insisted. "Since we're sharing that much information, I'm not really career age," she admitted. "Angel is a little older than me actually." She wondered if Angel looked eighteen. Her perception was a little off considering most peole still confused Ava for being like thirteen.

"I mostly try not to nap through class since I'm not allowed to move around much. Oh! and figure out how I want my new room arranged about four times a day," she might consider laying on her bed when she did this whole VR thing. It seemed less dangerous than a computer chair. She was pretty sure that's where she was at the moment. It was really surreal to think about. "Outside of school I run around more. I'm trying to learn my way around my home, oh and of course make new friends, probably online mostly in case I have to move again."

  4. "I don't look my age either if it helps. You wouldn't think with this small body that I'm an adult right? Or for that matter, that I'm tall. In this world, for my species, I'm really tall~ It's a nice change of pace on the one hand, but on the other hand..." She laughed timidly, twirling a pigtail around her finger. The lavender color didn't quite have a lavender scent, to her chagrin- but it was comforting to play with for some reason, so she did.

Now she knew that Angel was younger than her. Learning things about people was surely good! "Do you really move that often, though? What makes you move house so regularly, if I may?" It was hard for her not to be curious. It wasn't like she hadn't moved once in her life- she'd moved quite a few, in fact, though all in the same state.

"It's not a bad job, unless you're not comfortable with people. Surprisingly, after actually writing, there's a lot of... communication work. Having to meet people is kind of scary... But it's not all bad. As long as my stories can inspire people, I'm pretty happy to share them!"

  5. "No, I don't move that often..." The taller girl trailed off for a moment, then perked back up. "I mean, I haven't in a little while. But I did more when I was little, just never as far." Angel wasn't sure how to explain. She was good at making friends. Everyone was her friend unless they said otherwise once they'd met and gotten along. But actual close friends were a lot more rare and she understood that. She needed some more.. mobile friendships.

As quickly as that little falter had appeared it disappeared and the girl was back to one hundred and twenty percent energy as she turned away from her real life misgivings. "Basically it's just me and my dad and he had to get a new job," she admitted. "He works hard so it's fine, and besides, back where I used to live they didn't have this game right?" She seemed genuinely happy to have found Terrasphere despite any real life misgivings she might have.

"We wouldn't be talking right now, aaaand-" she skipped forward enough to turn around and grin a big, goofy grin at Harveste. "Dad said I should get new hobbies, and this way I can learn about hobbies and jobs like yours while I'm at it! It's like... a win/win right?" she reached out an arm so she could brush her fingertips against the tree by their path and feel the bark. "Your job seems really neat too. If I could write I bet I'd enjoy it. Though, I guess I'm not that shy but I'm also not like, super brave with everything so who knows?"

  6. She couldn't help a giggle that left her when she listened. It was hard not to relate when she'd moved a lot during her school years herself- enough to know how stressful a new place could be, especially when one moved far from their comfort zone to a new home. "How far is 'this far', I wonder? I've mostly moved in my part of my state a lot, but I moved 'cross country once or twice." She was probably a little younger than Angel was at that time, though, she told herself.

Then again, how could she tell?

"Just you and your dad? You sound like a younger me. A younger me in that it's just you and your dad and you've moved a few times, not sure about much else. You have too much energy to be me. I still want to learn how to steal that from you."

Her words left her lips with some more laughter as she got further along the path. There was nothing quite like trying to relate to someone in their youth when you already saw yourself as an old lady in a lot of ways. Especially when that youth was full of energy and smiles.

Considering she was talking about something as stressful as moving, it was hard to believe how at ease the girl seemed to her. "You don't have to physically write it down to know if you like making up stories, necessarily. Before the written word, all stories were orally passed down, you know? If you want to know if you like it... Why not try starting that way? Tell me a story. Anything that comes to mind. Just... Make it up right now, you know?"

  7. "Yup! Me and dad," she confirmed. "It's been that way for like, ten years." Angel was happy to bond over just about anything, though it didn't immediately occur to her that she shouldn't be sharing so much information with a stranger. Ah well, she seemed pretty trustworthy anyway right? "I'd give you some of my energy if I could. Maybe then I'd sit still when people want me to. Well, that or I'd just nap."

Angel played with her new twintails as the pair walked. She spent a fair amount of time glancing or looking at her companion, but she spent almost as much time trying to quickly take in the world around them every few seconds. Once or twice she saw something over on the other side of their little path and would practically circle Harveste to look at something before hopping up and promptly catching up to her again.

The first time she actually stopped was when Harveste asked her to tell a story. "Uh..." did characters blush in this world? She felt herself blushing but didn't know if that was her in the real world or this world or if she could even feel anything in the real world while connected to the game.

"A- A story?" she coughed awkwardly. She'd made up a few stories for her dad over the years, especially when she was little, but she hadn't in awhile. "Uh, sure." She paused in her tracks to try and think of something, but eventually came up with an amusing little story about a fairy making friends with a house cat that it could ride. It sounded like the sort of story a much younger girl would tell her parents, though updated a bit by the fact that she clearly had a decent grasp of basic story structure for such a short story.

"Heh," she scratched her nose, self-conscious for once. "I bet you'll never guess why a fairy came to mind~" she joked. "That's the best I could do on short notice. Though I haven't really tried to tell any actual stories in awhile. I do make things up in my head that I tell people sometimes though."

  8. "There's nothing wrong with it being just you and your father, I'd say. It was that way for me for quite a long time too- still generally is, even if I live separately from him at this point. Rather than thinking of it as 'just you two', what matters is if you're getting along well and getting the support you need while giving it too."

Crap, I'm getting too invasive! She realized it herself as well, timidity taking a new jab at her throat as she swallowed to get rid of the nervous bubble of air clogging it for a moment of time. "A nap isn't bad even if you're a bundle of nerves, though. Make sure you get plenty of sleep. Otherwise, you might wanna ask a doctor about why you're fine without it."

She was doing it again. Once more, she was impeding her attempt to not be a pest, to not push her way through barriers that should be there but weren't. She was ignoring her own walls and letting her own memories take new life as if they were sure to happen to others. It was a relief when the topic moved to the story- well, once Angel was taking a break from running off course constantly.

Even if it took a while for the girl to tell her one, she rather liked it when she did. It reminded her less of a child's tale and more of one her father would tell her when she was a little girl trying to get to dreamland- if not just because she was basically put into the starring role by being a 'fairy' and a 'fairy' being included in the tale.

With a giggle, she tried to whistle- unlike in reality, she could manage a minor tune in this world, perhaps only because she'd worked on her music skills a bit. "I can't guess where the fairy came in, but I can say it's a lovely story. If I could draw, I'd think that a great children's book. It has a lesson, myths and animals. I took creative writing and we were taught that those are some of the essentials for a book for young ones. That and pictures."

She stretched a bit and walked closer to the woman's side, even though it was mostly so she could tug on the hand that sat at her side to make sure her clear grin would be seen. "Did you have fun when you thought of the story? That's part of the signs of whether you'd enjoy writing in general. It surely shows that you're creative. I'd like to hear one of the ones you play in your mind sometime in general, too. I bet they're just as fun and interesting!"

  9. Not that Angel hadn't been paying attention to her friend as they walked and talked and whatever else the energetic teen got into, but she did pay a bit more attention when a small fairy hand was suddenly tugging on her own. She was a touchy person in a literal sense, so she had zero issues having her hand held. "Of course I had fun," she grinned. "I mean, it was kinda hard and I was nervous but you liked it and that was kinda what I was hoping for," she admitted.

"I dunno how well I could come up with more on the spot," she chuckled. "I haven't practiced much~" she didn't seem all that fussed about it. The fairy girl seemed pretty pleased too, after all. "Usually when I come up with stuff it's just silly thoughts that probably didn't actually happen, but they seem amusing for me at any rate. Usually people laugh, but it might be more at me than the stories. At least they're having fun though right?"

  10. Angel's words were met with soft, gentile smiles- smiles that likely didn't quite fit the babyish round face of the little girl giving them, as they were a bit too mature in nature for a childish fellow. Too warm for someone so internally shaky. Yet, she felt at ease, and it showed.

"What matters is you enjoyed it, and you were thinking about the person hearing the story. Writing... Is mostly different in that you don't have to rush, necessarily. I mean, sometimes you do- deadlines do exist, but not always. But what matters is that your story is meant to be seen by others- that you want them to enjoy it. You have to think about what you want them to feel from hearing or reading what your story involves. You were aiming to make me feel happy from your story, right? And you succeeded. That's a good sign right there, to me."

Still, the girl was young, she was sure. Harveste knew that writing had been a passion for her since she was likely smaller than Angel was in real life- though small was about age as a number, not the fact she stopped growing fairly quickly. "I've always loved stories, and seeing how they make people feel afterwards... I always have a goal in mind. I want them to feel connected to the characters, to feel the ups an downs with them... I want the story to affect how they think, over time..."

Suddenly, she stopped and stood still, adjusting her hand to open the palm menu, sending a friend request Angel's way. "I know you're the type that moves around a lot, but if you ever have time to sit and read... I'd like you to see what I write, too. And maybe share more stories with me in the future, too! I still want to play more today, too, but... I don't want to hold back and wait on sending the request. Will you be my friend~? My friend whose name suits her perfectly."

  11. Angel had never given story writing or telling as a career or hobby much thought. This talk did make her consider giving such a thing consideration though, if she wasn't already planning on spending way too much time in Terra.... eh, she was still young, there was always time to think about it right?

She was actually surprised when it was Harveste's turn to stop and compliment her while asking to be friends. She glanced down at the notification and her eyes went even more wide than normal. "Really? A new friend already?" she was practically beaming. "I'd love to! And also I'd read anything you gave me. But it might take time, and I mean, I can move while I read. It's the only way I get any of my homework done~"

"It miiight take a little while though. Sometimes I'm reading and the next thing I know I'm doing something else. But I do have a good memory so no worries!" Angel squeaked as she realized she hadn't actually accepted and watched the name "Harveste" get added to the list of friends. Of course, the list was rather short at this point - Harveste was the only name there.

  12. A small laugh somehow left her breathless- perhaps it wasn't as small as she thought, or perhaps it was something to do with how often she'd been giggling on and off the entire time. It wasn't rare for the small girl to lose her breathe from laughter, but it was more unusual in the game than in reality.

"I must've moved around more today than I thought," She decided to tell herself. "I used to try reading when I was walking to school way back when, but... I'm clumsy, so the last thing I need is a distraction making me wander off the sidewalk. Or, y'know, into a person I don't notice." The later was likely more common, since the girl knew she already had a habit of walking into things when she was focused.

In fact, she was surprised she hadn't walked into a tree this day or in recent days in general.

"Why wouldn't I want to be friends? That's part of the fun of a game, isn't it? It's easier to contact a friend than a stranger." That was a pretty simple truth anyone would agree with, wasn't it? "But I see... So you have energy and a good memory. I should study you. Figure out how you get those things I need." Her words left her laughing again as she started to focus more on her footing.

A berry bush not far away caught her attention, and she was quick to run to it, touching its leaves gently. "Looks like this one's going to lie dormant soon. The change of seasons is realistic too here. Weather changes, the people of the world grow... It's its own world, truly. A second life all its own. Maybe that's why I don't mind acting against my instincts. I'm hoping to grow here, too. So far, I think I've learned a lot of myself in this place... Hopefully I'll grow some, too."

  13. Angel's memory was actually average at best, but she did tend to remember things she'd watched or read decently well. Maybe not enough to pass a test on it or anything, but definitely enough to talk about it some later. "I mean, if you wanted to~" she giggled. "But I'd probably just look like someone flailing around in the game. In the real world... I might look... fairly similar... but it's more just my personality since I understand how to be a normal teen girl and all. Mostly. Usually."

She dropped her hand and let the menu disappear so she could hook her arms behind her head in that sort of casual stretch position. "Oh!" she quickly recoiled and flailed around. "I forgot I had long hair!" she squeaked. "I surprised myself, heheh," she looked rather amused. "My real self only has about shoulder length hair..." she took the twintails in each hand and examined them. "I thought you two were bugs!"

She giggled again and dropped her hair and flipped her head so they'd be behind her again. "Um, anyway," she crouched down to see the berry bush and of course poke at it. "Real seasons huh? That's so strange. I can't imagine all that. Video games are always so much faster than real life."

  14. Angel clearly wasn't sure if she fit 'normal' based on the very notable changes she made to her wording over time. She went from 'mostly' to 'sometimes' as she spoke about her reality, showing she was about as sure about it as Harveste was about almost anything herself. That being said, it meant she wasn't sure at all, if it was the case.

Giggling, the faerin smiled. "Normal is overrated if you ask me. I think it's fine to be yourself- 'normal' is unrelated to it. I mostly think that way because I don't really get the idea of normal, though. I mean... Doesn't that vary for everyone?"

Perhaps it was because of her love of fantasy, but 'normal' had never made much sense to her. She'd had a fairly average life if she were to be asked about it. She went to school (mostly), played video games with friends and family. She fell in love and was hurt by the world as much as anyone else, wasn't she?

"Oh?" She jumped slightly as the serious conversation turned to something less so, something easier to think about than the concept of 'normal' in psychology and the world's sense. "I have long hair offline too, but not nearly this long. It only goes to about here." She showed it on her tiny body, just below her chest. "I mean, I'm a bit taller there, so that's not literally where it would be, but proportionately... And it's not purple. I remember how surprised my girlfriend was by that."

She laughed a little, smiling as she spoke. It came out as naturally as air, but it was true. It had been quite the meeting to boot. "Yep, real seasons. Or, it seems real to me. I started in the late part of summer. I've only seen summer and autumn so far. I can't wait for winter. Think we'll get as much snow here as there is offline? W-Well I mean... Usually there's snow by me... I wonder if I'm strange for looking forward to it? I really am a hypocrite in a way with it..." A timid laugh and a broader smile left her moving along once more.

"What kind of weather do you like this time of year?"

  15. Angel nodded enthusiastically at Harveste's explanation of how long her hair was. She was trying to imagine a not-purple-haired fairy who was slightly taller in the real world, which was amusing her a fair bit... if only because her brain decided her hair must be blue instead. Because that made complete sense! "I guess I've never thought about my real hair that much," she admitted. "I've always got it cut when dad reminded me. Which is probably good because I'd never be responsible enough to brush it as much as I needed to if it were long..."

She paused for a moment, watching Harveste with a sort of funny expression on her face. "I um, well I prefer warm weather, but if it's going to be cold it has to snow or it just isn't worth it," she decided, that expression not disappearing. She'd passively inserted a bit of information that caught Ava's eye mostly because of some real life stuff she was dealing with, herself. "You have a girlfriend, huh?" she couldn't help but pry. "What's she like, if you don't mind me asking?"
