  1. She accepted the hug from Alex, but was quick to pull away and stomp her foot quite literally as she had listened to the real problem in this situation. "If you have glass cutting you, it's even more reason to sober up. Alcohol is bad for the healing process in excess, and I'd say this counts as excess. No matter what I do to heal you, it won't work well if you don't get some of that stuff out of your system."

Firmly, she pushed the noxious smelling cup towards the armor-clad fellow once more. She'd already made it, this was no time to waste the albeit disgusting liquid. It'd help get some of that alcohol cleared away- enough so that just maybe her healing would actually help, in the long run.

Wandering to her desk, she got out some already made salve and some tweezers she'd gotten while out on one of her rounds. She got closer to her friend, a foot awkwardly trying to catch the cot so it wouldn't topple over by laying a leg upon it of her own. "You know, I'm gonna need you to take your helmet off to see the wound. I need to remove any glass shards to make sure they don't get encapsulated. I promise, I know what I'm talking about."

The pat on her back seemed to surprise her, however. "And you better visit. I'll cry if I have to worry about you like this too often. Now... Open up so I can see what we're dealing with properly."

  2. Ashiore nodded along. "I've been to the fortune telling booth. That was interesting. I get that it's not really real, but it definitely had an immersive atmosphere." She hadn't seen the wrestling ring or arm wrestling, but it sounded like the kind of thing that you would find in a carnival. Well, if the movies and TV shows she watched were accurate about carnivals, at any rate.

"That sounds nice." At the comment about alcohol, she shrugged. "I don't really know. It's not my thing either. I guess the drinking is the fun part for some people? I know there were some people who got really competitive about that drinking contest, but now that it's over I hope people won't go overboard with it anymore."

She appreciated the information of what was in the ointment. She'd take Solaria at her word, but having specific details on what went into the medicine was very nice. It did feel rather cold, but that wasn't anything to be worried about. "Right, got it," she said as Solaria explained how to use the salve, gratefully accepting the medicine from Solaria. "Thank you."

She waited patiently as Solaria spoke to the other man who was resting in her tent, sending a mental warning for Prometheus to behave. And then, she said, "Thanks so much for the medicine. I'll definitely be trying it out." With a glance back to the half-depleted medicines, she offered, "I feel bad for using up your supplies, and it looks like you're running low on some things. If you need any herbs or medicinal plants, I could help you restock. Is there anything you need right now?"

  3. Alex wanted to refuse the goopy not fun looking drink a second time, but even impaired as she was, she knew it would not end well for her. Solaria was the kind of woman that would strip strangers in caves by the point of her sword if she had to, to get them to warm themselves up from falling in cold water. Trying to refuse a foul beverage just because you wanted to keep your buzz was certianly not an option.

Still she was in no rush to drink the thing and so Alex put it off a little longer while her friend explained that she would have to remove her helmet. Alex had known as much, which was why she had come here of all places. Solaria being the only person that had seen her outside her armor yet, gave her the distinct advantage of becoming Alex's primary care physician now.

“Of courshe I gotta. Thatsh why I came to yoooou.” Alex explained woozily, in a sing song tone. She reached for her helmet with the same hand that was still holding the foul remedy. The full force of its noxious stench hit her nostrils and like a flash Alex was on her feet and had stumbled to the nearest unoccupied corner of the tent. Her visor flew open as she hurled, several times in a row. Her body expelling the excess of alcohol she had been poisioning herself with. Each heave was as unpleasant as the last and caused tears to run down her face until her body finally seemed to calm down for a moment. Alex could see red mingling with her sick where it was dripping down from the wounds she was now more aware of on her face.

“I'm sorry!” she said in a voice that sounded half like a sob. It took her another few minutes to be sure she was done, and Alex immediately upended the drink down her gullet. It tasted even worse than it smelled. The fact that the drink felt thick would have been bad enough but it felt gritty and chunky it had Alex half convinced that Solaria was playing a very disturbed joke on her, and almost caused her to retch again from the experience, but something in it seemed to keep her from doing so just yet. The brew was foul, and Alex personally decided in the future she would rather have water and a hangover to fell gods the next day, than ever have to drink such a thing again.

It would keep her friend happy though, and the fact that she had thrown up was proof enough that she'd passed her limit by a much larger margin than she had intended to. Suddenly all the drinking fun and games seemed like significantly less entertaining a prospect to the formerly rowdy warrior. “Can I wash thish down with water firssst! -hic- That's the foulest thing I've ever -hic- tasted!”

Stumbling back to the cot she had initially sat down on, Alex felt embarrassed about the scene that she was making, and was glad that aside from Solaria, everyone else in the tent at the time were too drunk to remember anything, or were entirely unconscious. She twisted her helmet slightly and then was able to remove it from her head entirely as she enjoyed a fresher breath of air that way, and tried to sit as still as her slightly swaying body could, while waiting for Solaria to help her.

Several scratches bled on her face, most superficial, but she had not been wrong, on her forehead, and a few places in her cheek, there were pieces of glass, a shattered stein, that had found their way through the slats in her helmet and embedded themselves into her otherwise soft and unblemished features.

  4. Solaria struggled not to smile to broadly when @Ashiore Evretto showed more worry for the nurse than herself, particularly being worried she was using up the alchemist's supplies. Perhaps she'd forgotten, or perhaps she just wasn't sure what Ashiore could do with whatever illness she had, but the woman hadn't thought to ask for help from anyone, least not a patient.

"Things I'm low on in that department... I know I'm starting to run low on aloe..." She moved her fingers as if counting upon them, mouthing silently things she was recollecting whether she had or lacked- particularly of the plant variety. Surprising things she'd soon list needing included the normally easy-to-find dandelion, another weed known as yarrow, and the ever commonly known ginger root. She knew altogether it was a likely strange combination, but she'd happily explain the reasoning behind each one if asked.

Once she felt she'd come up with most things she could think of, she added, "I don't think I want you even growing stinging nettles with your hands like that, even if I'd be the one dealing with them... So I'll skip that. I learned a lot about how weeds can be helpful in medicine when I was a kid... But I know that if you're not careful, gathering them can be just as harmful as they are helpful for the body. Everything in moderation, including accepting kindness."

She wasn't surprised that the faerin guard wretched from the smell- even someone in their right mind at the time likely would. Solaria had too, the first time she had to drink it for herself in their own world. It was quite sad, really, to admit she'd made most of her medicines from knowledge she had first hand. The warning on her sign outside was no joke: medicine tasted downright horrible.

"It's an herbal remedy. If it tasted good it'd be strange, wouldn't it?" A nervous laugh left her as she took a cloth and doused it in warm water, a glass of which (though not warm like the cloth) was soon handed to @Alex Marquardt with a mild smile. Not long after she'd handed over the cup of liquid to wash down the horrifying concoction, Solaria took from a pocket a small jar of a poultice and an extra cloth. She opened the jar and took a swab of the inner medicine onto the secondary linen, soon moving to start removing glass from the gentle face of her friend.

Her body moved in a unique rhythm: she used the warm watered cloth to help ease the glass shards out of the skin, dabbed them with an edge of cloth as she moved the glass into a nearby makeshift 'sharps' container, and moved to put poultice on the wound with the other hand simultaneously. Each time she put on poultice, she folded the cloth for it to use a different, somehow-still-sterile section, continuing her methods until she'd finished getting each piece off the girlish features.

"The poultice helps slow the bleeding and has medicine in it to help the wounds. Let's see, I know I have more cloth for gauze..." She rushed back to her supply spot and pulled what looked like a long role of linen along with makeshift adhesive that was safe for the skin in another little jar. Bringing it with her, along with a scissor, she began to cut strips off of the cloth and dipped the ends in the adhesive, carefully letting it place just taunt enough to cover the wounds without making a disaster on Alex's body overall. "I have to thank grandma again for the recipes. This glue isn't just safe, it's good for your skin and hair while it stays. By the time it gets absorbed, you won't need the bandages anymore anyway. Just try not to toy with them, okay?"

  5. Ashiore nodded along as Solaria listed everything that she needed. Those all sounded simple enough. Through her time in Terrasphere, she'd come across a great many different types of plants, and it didn't seem like it would be too much trouble to gather a few of them for Solaria. Dandelions, aloe, and ginger root were the easiest, as she had encountered them often both in-game and in real life. Yarrow, slightly trickier, but she'd handled some during quests and interactions with other players here. In no time at all, she had some of each fresh and ready for Solaria.

"Hmm, about the nettles..." Yeah, touching them wouldn't be fun at all, regardless of whether or not her hands were in perfect condition. "I could grow a patch somewhere nearby," she offered. "Maybe behind your tent, so you could go and pick some when you need it?"

Though, that seemed to be the last of everything. Ashiore started to stand up, dropping the container of medicine into her inventory so she wouldn't lose it. "If you ever need anything just let me know! It's the least I can do. And if you ever have any time, we should meet up again! Maybe we could go around the festival if there's still time left before it closes down. See you around, then!"

As she left, she murmured a small incantation and concentrated on the ground. White little buds of jasmine began sprouting from the soil, filling at least the entrance to Solaria's tent with a sweet fragrance. The smell of alcohol was still overpowering, but Ashiore hoped it would help, even if just a bit.

If Solaria had agreed to her offer about the nettles, she made a quick stop by the back of Solaria's tent and grew a small patch. Slightly out of the way, of course, to lessen the chances of somebody stumbling into an unwelcome surprise.

And that done, Ashiore looked down at her hands once more. Here's hoping that Solaria's medicine would help.

  6. The refreshing water helped to wash the taste of sick, and the worse taste of the herbal remedy out of Alex's mouth. However it was not easy to swallow. Her stomach churned defiantly as if it would suffer the abuse of no beverage any longer. She managed, barely to keep things down and did her best not to fidget as Solaria started tending to her face.

A difficult task indeed since Solaria's face was so close to hers while she worked as delicately as she could at Alex's injuries. The sharp medicinal smells wafted to her nose and the flashes of pain dulled by alcohol didn't help matters. Still Alex did her best. It was interesting to watch the faces Solaria made as she concentrated. The way her brow would furrow or her nose would crinkle as she tried to be delicate yet firm as she removed each red shard from Alex's face. The faerin couldn't help but think she really would make a good nurse someday.

Alex listened to her instructions quietly as she assumed moving her face under these conditions was ill advised. Only after Solaria had finished applying the final bandage did she allow herself a slightly painful smile. It seemed her alcoholic immunity to pain was starting to wear away as she came increasingly back to her senses.

Alex lifted her helmet and placed it back over her head now that it was all patched up. “Have no fear! I'll keep the banadages as safe as the rest of me. No more stray beer stein's will be going through this visor!.” As if to display that fact Alex clunked her own metal clad fist against the side of her helmet. A dumb gesture she immediately regreted as the clanging of metal so near her ears made her budding headache begin to blossom into more of a pain. Ugh. The worst part of a real good festival was dealing with the aftermath. Alex was going to have to find someone to take over her booth for a while, as her stomach churned at the thought of even a sip more of alcohol. She knew just the person who would be more than willing to take over, however.

“Thank you for your help, my friend.” Alex remembered to add as she cautiously found her way back to her feet. “I'm sure we will speak again once this festival is over.” She moved to give her friend a clunky parting hug and then attempted to shamble her way out of the tent.

  7. Solaria made sure to show her greatest gratitude to @Ashiore Evretto, especially for the nettles set up behind her tent. It was amazing how something so potently dangerous could equally be useful for helping others. Even dogsbane, a plant that would in colonial times cause great danger to people, had some medical use she'd learned.

That said, she'd probably use leeches before she'd use that particular bark.

"See you around, indeed. Make sure to let me know anytime you're not feeling well... And even if you are! I like seeing you, Ash!" Her lips were curled upward as she bottled up the ingredients the naturamancer had kindly created for her. As she watched Ash leave to return to enjoying the festival, the elf turned her focus once again to the armored, injured faerin.

It was easy enough to finish up her bandaging, and she was actually glad to see the helmet return to the @Alex Marquardt's face- her face that had been so flawlessly injured despite it. In her mind, the helmet would better protect her and keep the bandages from shifting too much depending on the girl's movements, which was a relief in its own right.

Of course, there were other things to worry about, she supposed. "I'm honestly still surprised so much got through it in the first place. It really broke bad. That said... Even if your helmet would protect you, I recommend not getting into too many fights that might lead to head blows. It'd be bad if your wounds reopen. They should close fairly quickly with the poultice, though- cleanly and healthily. Let them fall off naturally, okay?"

She watched Alex stumble on out, likely to get back to the festival. Her patients were slowly leaving her tent, showing that the end of the festival was far from being far away, anymore. I hope they all have fun without getting hurt worse than they are...

She began to pack some of her ingredients up, taking great care to harvest the nettles in the back so that no one would be harmed by them. "The tea these make will be great for the shop in the future. I'm glad I haven't needed much of them today."
