“Lady Knight?”
Savannah slowly stood from her squatted position near her three different piles. While the weapons and armor of the canids greatly intrigued her, there would be no way she could put it back together in some sort of working fashion. They were just too foreign to her. The second pile – even though they were bloodstained, chipped, or worn – were weapons that were used by the Astorean soldiers, and therefore much more familiar to her. And the last, well, she tried not to look too long at that pile.
Looking over her shoulder to the person who called her name, she was momentarily stunned by the beauty of this woman. Surely this wasn’t an NPC, but an actual player. Her red hair was like a halo of flames around her head and her cerulean eyes stood out in sharp contrast to milk chocolate skin. Savannah swallowed, feeling nervous even looking at her, and much too intimidated to initiate conversation. The woman, however, walked forward, within arm’s distance of Vannah, and peeked around her. She wore robes of purple and gold and carried a gnarled staff with her. Perhaps she was something like a druid?
“What, pray tell, are you doing?”
Separating the weapons from the…body parts, ma’am, Savannah replied, barely able to keep her cheeks from blushing or her tone from wavering.
“Yes, I can see that, but why? Wouldn’t your help be better situated elsewhere?”
To this, Savannah shrugged and cracked her knuckles. Someone must do it. Besides, the weapons that our troops used in the war can still be used. They shouldn’t be thrown away just because they have a hand or an arm still attached to them.
“Hmm,” came the priestess’s response. Savannah immediately arched an eyebrow and gave her a sideways glance.
You don’t agree?
“Quite the opposite, Lady Knight,” she murmured, a warm hand placed on Savannah’s shoulder. “I think it noble work the work you have done here. I merely came to check on you to make sure you were okay. I will bring you food and drink in the interim if that is pleasing to you?”
Uh, yeah, s-sure. Savannah didn’t really know what to say, so agreeing seemed like the best option. Stupidly, she nodded her head as the woman turned and walked away, perhaps to do exactly what she had said. Meanwhile, Savannah turned her attention to the Astorean weapons and began to gather them up for work.
