  1. Perking up right away, Emilia pulled her phone out. Zooming in on a specific location she tapped a small button and sent a message to Ray, pinning the drop location of the fundraiser. "It is in the auditorium of Boston University!" Feeling quite confident that she had gotten the okay from him she now asked him another question, "Want me to pick you up? And if you want.. If you do not have one.. Feliz has your measurements.. You can ask him for what to wear. I myself cannot share what I will be wearing. I would recommend more formal than not. Yet not entirely tux. I would say perhaps a simple dress shirt, with potentially a tie or a bowtie.. Dress pants and dress shoes. Feliz will be more than happy to make you something."

Now watching Ray as she waited for the cab to pull up she replied to his job, "A gas station clerk? What is it like? Is it fun? I actually always wanted to know what it is like.. Is it like easy? Do you deal with a lot of bad customers? Is it what you want to do with the rest of your life?" Question after question, Emilia spoke.

  2. He snorted at the mention of the place. A vague memory of being invited to attend that university after high-school. Though the invitation was moot from the very start, for even back then he had resolved just work part-time and spend as much of his time as he could with his at-the-time girlfriend, and preferably do so while playing Video games, a growing passion of his at that moment.

He nodded, accepting her offer. "Yea, that'd be nice. We could go in together and itd uh, save me the trouble of being in Boston Traffic alone." Oh the ever so infuriating moments stuck bumper to bumper on the highways, how he longed that at the very least, there was someone else in the car with him. Another nod to confirm what she said about dress code, "Yea, just uh-" He stopped again, anxious about the cost, "Have Feliz bill the services to my house," Though his grimace of anxiety shifted to a slight smile as the thought of the Frenchman making it all bright pink as a joke filled his mind.

In the moments between them getting to the curb, and the cab pulling up, Ray wasn't all that interested in the question to begin with, until her following string of inquiries reminded him that she had no idea what any of that was like, probably. "Uh, not really fun, but not really difficult, no. People come in, buy drinks or candy bars, sometimes you get the occasional teenager or trucker who stops by for the warmer foods. I stand there, take inventory, and make sure all the money is in the right spot. Boring as hell I tell ya. As for customers; sometimes people try to nab a thing or two, and most of the time its like a one dollar item, so I just kinda let it go a lot of the time. Every now and then a customer gets fiesty about the 'absurd' prices of a king sized candy bar or some stupid shit. But other than that, it's a pretty easy going occupation." A laugh escaping him as he thought of the answer to her final question. "Of course, If I could, I'd choose not to work at all, but that's an obvious choice for most people. I don't mind it, but if I could really pick what I wanted to do, It'd probably be something business related. But I don't have the skills for that kind of stuff."

  3. With a smile of glee as he mentioned his job a sudden idea came to her mind, "If you convince your boss to let me work at the gas station for a day or two, I will totally take you under my wing and train you in the business field! I was introduced to it a a young age. I could even sign off on references and I could probably talk to some of my connections and get you something of an internship, if not for my company then for one of theirs. By having an internship at one of my business partnerships you would have leeway and like 90% of all interns get hired." All Emilia wanted was to try the jobs that most people did in the society of Boston. Then she could help Ray in return.

Thinking of the fundraiser this time, Emilia put her hand to her chin. "Hmm..Sure.. though I have to be there an hour early.. Since they are fancier clothes, they will not be that expensive. I can cover it if you want.."

  4. Rayvil thought on her offer, though he wasn't sure at how he would convince his boss, or even if it was something that could be done, legally or at all. He supposed that it wasn't uncommon for Clerks to ask if friends could hang out, and even if it wasn't sanctioned by the business itself, its not like anyone would particularly know. It was something he had to think about, though now another thing bothered him. This was an amazing oppurtunity, one that not only did Rayvil not think he'd fall upon, but also one he now felt guilty for taking advantage of so early. Of course Emilia knew tons of people who could get him exactly where he wanted to be, but, there was a problem. He was lazy, and was more interested in Terrasphere than he was in having a job he enjoyed and a good income. However, he also knew that his parents would tolerate the current situation forever, if even much longer. "I-I will talk to my boss." He decided, taking the leap of faith and seeing where this ends up.

"An hour early?" Now it was his turn to offer back. "By all means, that's fine with me. I'd be more than willing to help with any prep work or keep you company." It was the least he could do, right? Offer some time to help a friend, missing out on an hour of Terra wasn't that bad, right?

  5. Smiling lightly, Emilia gave Ray an encouraging nod. "It is not so much prep work.. As it is to inspect and make sure everything is perfect.. Along with a little bit of practice.. Gotta make sure the mics work and such." Feeling oddly embarrassed, Emilia tried to move the situation into a different topic, "So umm.. What are you going to do when you get back home?" Without much thought, she produced this question.

It was a strange thing for Emilia. She actually did not know what to say. Normally she would be great with this sort of thing.. However it happened now as if she did not have any clue.

  6. "No problemo" He responded quickly, not really wanting to spend his time doing that, but deciding that it was maybe time for him to be a semi-functioning adult and making real commitments to people who weren't just characters in a near imaginary world.

"Uh, well I might, uh..." He wasn't actually sure how to answer that question, taking the moment to step into the Taxi, walking around the far side onto the street and taking that moment to come up with some bullshit answer. "Probably play some Computer games. Or sit and play with the new Gear you just gave me..." That actually might be what he'd end up doing over all.

  7. Simply nodding politely, she thought of the fundraiser.. It would be pretty big.. Not that she had not done things in front of crowds before... What if I mess up? Just cause I have friends there? With a light sigh, Emilia gripped the full dive gear that she had conveniently remembered to grab. Opening the taxi cab's door as it had just arrived she listened to his answer.

"Haha, makes sense. If you are playing around with full dive.. I might send over a game that I found the other day on a website." Emilia lied straight through her teeth about finding it the other day on a website. What the hell Emilia. What the hell are you doing and saying. Letting out a sigh of exhaustion, Emilia sat into the seat. Waiting for Ray to hand over his address, she thought of something else to talk about. "Ehh... Soo... Errr... Anyways..." That was about all she could come up with.

  8. He told the Taxi where to go once they peeled away from the Manor, his home not being too long of a drive, but seemingly long enough that they could hold a conversation in the mean time. He was nervous now, having agreed to go to the Fundraiser, and was worried that now he'd probably sleep in and miss it.

She mentioned another game, and though Rayvil was pretty pre-occupied with Terrasphere, and probably wouldn't play much else, he wasn't going to be that rude about it. "Yea, email it to me." Now not remembering if he had input his email into her phone, but was pretty sure he had. Paying no mind to the fact that it was RayvilZelrius, he sat in silence with Emilia, watching the window as the city of Boston stretched to the horizon and blurred by as the taxi pushed forward.

  9. Nodding her head, she took a mental note down, "So.. I will pick you up around 3 PM on Sunday? And we can talk more about it tomorrow when we play in the snow together." As Ray told her to email the game over, she took yet another mental note down to indeed email Ray. "While I still have your attention. I want you to know something...." Emilia froze. What the hell are you saying.. Erhm.... Pausing in her speech Emilia thought of something she could make up to cover for what her mind had randomly had her think and then speak.

She had indeed spoken those words against her will, but now she had to come up with something..

  10. He nodded with her in agreement, liking that idea, and then just being reminded that he had already made plans with her for tomorrow. Why am I like this? He questioned himself, already forgetting that he had promised to meet up tomorrow to do one of the most childish activities he could think of.

And then it was broken from that thought as she seemed to be rather serious, and then stopped talking. It was obvious that it was an impulsive question, perhaps one that popped into her head, but then realized was either rude or... personal. He too had some questions about her, mostly regarding VR and what she knew of games that were often played using her technology. But he would remain silent, nudging her arm to remind her that he was still here and waiting for her to finish her thought.

  11. With a soft frown etched upon her lips, Emilia felt herself being nudged. Looking up she shook her head, "To be honest, just forget I said something. It is nothing." Offering a small smile despite her frown, she turned her head away from Ray, starting to stare out the window.

She did not know what made her like this. She just wanted to wrap herself up in a blanket with Choji on her lap and just pet him. She wanted to lock herself in Terrasphere, the world she had grown to love. What made her this way? She was not sure. Perhaps it was because she wanted to see if Zelrius was online.. Or perhaps Ashnor, her own personal blacksmith. Either way, Emilia was in her real life in the company of Ray, her first friend in the real world. She needed to get out of her own head and stop doubting herself.

"So uhm.. what are you thinking of right now?" She had to put past her own wants, and focus on becoming closer with Ray. The real world is so different though.. There are no dragons.. no magic... No real strength... It is all but a facade. Thought.. Ray seems real enough. Perhaps he can prove that this real world is not a lost cause. So far, I have been quite happy with meeting him. I enjoy being around him..

  12. A frown formed on her face to match hers, one of the few social cues he was quite good at. In actuality, it wasn't that he was socially retarded, just so far removed from normal social interaction that it became ever more difficult to do it correctly, a perfect example being set now, as he simply just let it go at her request, unlike normal people who would press on.

He didn't have much thought to it, thinking that if she had nothing to say, the woman had nothing to say. So be it then, that was that. "Ehm, probably what I am going to do when I get home..." Was his simple reply, as the car got ever closer.

And within that time, they were there at that house he called home for so very long. He turned to her, giving his goodbyes and letting her say her own before heading out of the car and walking through the snow to his door, giving a wave as the taxi peeled off, and then going inside his house.

  13. As they arrived at Ray's own place, Emilia said her goodbyes. She set him off with a wave, and a shout as the taxi peeled away to return Emilia to her residence, "I will text you!" As the streets of Boston started to peel by, Emilia could not help but think back to how much she had enjoyed hanging out with Ray. Even a bit of happiness can be found in this dull, dark world.

The rest of the taxi ride was full of Emilia's thoughts of what tomorrow would bring, and how she would continue her training in Terrasphere. Do not forget to text Ray... Her hands fumbled to her phone as she pulled open her messaging app, sending him a quick goodbye text and reminding him about the snow play for tomorrow.
