The gentle poke on her armband made her shiver as if it had given her the cold from Vanilla's hand- though really, it was just an automatic reaction to being surprised. Giggling, she rubbed the girl's shoulder with a swift glance to her, before moving that same hand to the trinket she'd touched before. "It doesn't calm me either, but... It does its job of replenishing energy. And I mean... There's a bright side. So far at least, it hasn't driven me nuts like the item it reminds me of."
It was fair to say Harveste had a rather unusual mind. Her favorite anime, books and anything else were usually things that would most certainly give her nightmares not far down the road. Despite the fear, she couldn't stop herself most of the time. Whether it was a mysterious supernatural horror or puzzles ready to kill people that took them on, she found the stories and the people in them rather fascinating.
Sadly, that didn't change that she was a naturally fearful person. So, while she enjoyed them, they certainly added more traumatic thoughts to her mind, things to worry about and the like.
"I've got a few songs up my sleeve if you really want to listen. I have some that are meant to work with my naturamancy and others that are meant to work as a separate magic of sorts. The second type, I named all my spells after the ones from an older game that had music as a magical type." It was funny that she could name them at all, but it was certainly handy.
Thinking it over, one song came to mind that might be handy. She separated herself slightly, at least from skin contact, for just a moment. Running ahead a few feet, she spun around and began to sing with a smile, her words dancing upon air with a rather drastic, energetic tone.
"Fears you must let go~
Roll with the punches!
You have to go with the flow~
It's okay to fall on hunches!
The sun is blinding!
Our hearts are shining!
Danger is no match for us, so-
Roll with the punches,
Go with the flow!
As one we shall fight, so go, go, go!"
Her voice fell silent the moment her last high note fell into the winter wind. She could feel the effect the song had- though it was just a song in reality, something in it had a magic to make her feel stronger and more energetic, more powerful. It didn't take much energy to let the music leave her lips, but because she wasn't paying attention when she pranced in the process, she fell flat on her butt into the snow.
"I'm lucky for the soft landing... But what did you think?" She smiled up from her frozen seat, praying for a good review. "I call it my 'Striking March'. I sing it to bring the energy of a battle up. I have other songs for calming down, but energy is helpful when you're cold, right?"
Her mind wandered for a moment to the things that had been said before she sang- the concept of purple death lasers, an old concept seen often in sci-fi more than in fantasy such as the world they were in. It made her want to write a new song about the color wheel and how it effected magic, but somehow, she couldn't think of one at that point.
"I haven't gotten through to Kaede in a while, but I know she has been working on that form of magic too. If not... I know there's someone in Astorea's capital who's good at it, though I haven't really met them much... I go to Dormont regularly, though, so I might still be able to ask them."
She'd have to remember who it was, first- but she knew there was someone there with that skill, someone who worked with the king. If there wasn't, then why would astramancy have brought the rescue crews and those kidnapped by evil back to the capital with such speed? "Just be careful with the teleporting. I saw it used once in person, and well... It can be hard to control, and pretty dangerous if you're not careful. I saw people basically being dropped from the sky when one mass teleport was used."
A nervous laugh and a shake of her head, and she was slowly getting back to her feet. The shaking of her legs lessened the closer she got to Vanilla and Fluffbutt, who she basically clung onto the moment she could, calming the chill in her spine. "Fluffbutt is accurate though, isn't it? I figured you just really liked accurate names. He's fluffy for sure. I don't know what other name I'd give him myself... I mean, the only ones that come to my mind are food." Realizing this, she noted to herself she was probably getting hungry.
"Nothing wrong with looking around once in a while. Window shopping can be fun if you do it with a friend, and it at least helps you learn what's out there. And if you do find bagpipes, still tell me! It's still a good sign if you find anything. I figure I can't likely get a portable piano so... I've gotta figure out something other than my mouth that I can play~ And you need a stick that matches your needs. I don't know much about them, but I bet there are plenty that would suit you. More than me, anyway. The only thing that would really suit me is a twig."
