"WHAT. THE. FUDGE!" every stop in her speech was indicated by the stomp of her feet, thumping against the ground as people started falling and respawning. Her eye twitched at the scene and, despite her low health, she managed to ignore the ache sparkling along her body in favor of firmly criticizing the situation. Clearing her throat, she glared around to distribute her anger to everyone. Equally. Because she was such a kind mistress that she wouldn't discriminate even on those who were ugly at the eyes (that included everyone around her currently and some of them were even worse than that Spider Queen too).

She fixed the queen, who was ignoring her taunts and constructive criticism on its appearance, a nice fireball to the face. "HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?!"

Leon watched from afar as the beast slaughtered everyone in its path, rampaging with its grotesque and towering form. He gave the fallen a minute glance, making sure to remember their faces for their sacrifice in this battle (and to thank them later). He was, however, horrified to see a man fall victim to the arachnid's jaws. It wasn't because of the blood and gore or even the sight of death that sent his stomach sinking down below. The man in the creature's grasp was someone that he knew. Someone who had been a friend of sorts during his stint on Druuk Island.

It was surreal seeing a man that you've previously seen living. A man who you knew had a personality and charm to him; get eaten alive. Disgust and rage filled his typically calm and collected being upon turning his attention back on the stone-cold monster. Aaron's body dropped to the ground and, before anything else, Leon flicked open his game screen with a determined, vengeance-promising glance.

"Repent! For tomorrow you die!" he chanted, watching a spell of fire and brimstone launch itself straight at the Spider Queen. He wasn't that strong but he felt like he owed Aaron at least that much.

Aaron forced himself into a standing position. No. No, he couldn't just sit there. Not while everyone else was fighting. Every moment he just stood there was a moment when others were taking hits and attacks they didn't have to be. Aaron gripped his sword tightly and began to chant, his magic coursing through his body.

With new resolve, this time Aaron made it through his spell. "Burn in the fires of hell, flames lit by the gods to punish those who do evil deeds. I have returned from the very afterlife itself to being judgement upon you for your sins. You have been tried, and found wanting." As his chant finished, he pointed toward the spider, though with a shaky hand. White light launched toward the beast and smote it.

Aaron grinned, shakily. Sure, he might be scared of the beast. But he would make sure that fear was mutual. And even if not - what was faith, except the knowledge that what you had on your side was stronger than what you faced?

Sera began to chant once again. This bitch needed to die! Rather than fire, this time lightning danced around her. Small gusts of wind would seem to whip around Roy and blow her hair as she chanted. "Storms, hear my call. Winds, be ye not so still. Thunder follow after my voice, power be mine to command. Through rain and fire and winds, beckon unto me, and I shall answer. I ask only the same of you. Lightning! Energy! I loose you from your bonds and free you to sow destruction upon my enemies!"

Her spell complete, lightning shot from Sera's body and would strike the spider in the side. Sera smirked. The bitch had to be on death's doorstep. Just a few more hits like that and she would be dead, and Sera would be praised along with all the other idiots here as some kind of hero. There was a faint sadness, however, that Lucia had not been able to come fight as well. Vaguely, she wondered what the woman might be up to.

Regardless, Sera knew some celebration would be in order after this spider bitch was dead, but it was too early to start celebrating yet. She grit her teeth and set her jaw. Almost. They were almost there. Just a little bit more....

The barrage of attacks which spewed forth did nothing else but fuel the man's blood lust. It was just about dead. Getting the finishing blow did not matter as long as somebody ended its miserable excuse of existence. Head titled towards the creature as he landed, Alonso knew just where to strike. Everywhere was vulnerable. Game mechanics did not care much as to where an attack took place, with exceptions such as the back or the side, as long as it was within the hit box data. Nothing about the Bloodied Queen was terrifying at this moment. For once everyone had a similar goal in mind, despite it being about murder.

His chance revealed itself. Powerful legs forced Alonso's body to crouch, the feline instincts of his race surging within his body again. This rush felt amazing. No game made him feel this way, unless it was the Berserk mastery manipulating his behavior. Yet, that did not make sense, as Alonso had not taken damage in this combat. "You will fall NOW," the man snarled at the creature. Muscles forced his body off the ground and rushing at Arachnea. His body reared back sideways, contorted to unleash another punch which struck its target with little fanfare.

Roland gazed at the spider from far away still unsure of what was happening to him. When he attacked the spider, something had come over him. As he looked at the creature, his blade buried inside, it had felt as if ice was flowing through his veins. An uncontrollable fear pulsed through him as he gazed at the arachnid and forced him to run.

Before he knew it he was up here in one of the few trees still standing in the area starring at the spider from afar. "What the hell.." Roland muttered under his breath. He tried to focus on the fear and overcome it, it was just a game after all, and yet he could not move forward. The monster in front of him just sat there, terrifying him. Try as he might to summon the courage to move he was merely unable forced to sit on the sideline as he tried to recover from his previous ordeal.

Almost! She thought, hearing the sounds of combat raging around her. Surely there's not much health left? From the furtive glances that she'd shot across the field, taking care to avoid the giant Spider Queen, it seems that most of the supports have completely given up on healing, casting a mixture of buffs and damaging spells instead. Killing it before it kills us, huh. Of course, Amane herself was doing much the same. Even if every support attempted to heal the injured members, with the damage the boss did each turn it would have been futile. Their only hope left, in order to avoid further casualties, would be to throw everything they had at it.

Standing with her back facing the boss was almost as scary as facing it, and every time the boss screeched she winced, expecting projectiles to fly into her back at any moment, unprotected as it was. She really should have anticipated her death — what was she thinking, rushing into a world boss fight with no gear, and no stats? Creating another arcane ball of energy, she closed her eyes, swinging her body around and pinpointing the boss' location as best as she could, before letting it lose with the last of her energy.

Amane snapped her eyes open, only to be forced to turn around as her death affliction once again took ahold of her, the phantom impression of webs sticking between her fingers and hair, spiders crawling up her legs, en masse. Still, she managed to catch sight of the purple bolt striking the Queen, causing it to recoil in pain, it's health flashing so red, from a distance it looked almost black.

One more attack, perhaps? She wondered. Fuck, someone please hit it!

Lachlan was a cook. He was also an alchemist. And a leatherworker. Lachlan was a great variety of many, many things. He could, with absolute confidence, say that out of all those things, fighting isn't one of them. He doesn't remember why he went to Harbard in the first place as he was a frequent traveler but not a man wish a death wish. He also knew that, strangely, up until these last few questionable minutes, he was absolutely certain in his decision to come here and face Arachna. He remembered telling his landlord that he had to go, yet he couldn't remember why. The odd sensation tingled on the back of his mind. What had made him so determined to come here? Why did he forget so easily?

The thoughts drifted away as the Spider Queen loomed over and, despite his shivering frame and frightful eyes, he had this feeling in the pit of his stomach that he had to do something. So, mustering up every ounce of his courage, he grabbed a frying pan from his bag and threw it straight at the spider. Then, he curled up into a ball and began to cry. Why did he decide to come here again?!

Slowly watching the boss’ health dwindle, Jack let out a cry of horror as he watched events unfold. As the creature leaped into the air and landed, several meters suddenly went from nearly full to depleting almost instantly. In fact, some had simply vanished from his interface, a sight he had never seen before until now.

Looking out onto the field, he’d spot several bodies lying motionlessly and unmoving. From the looks of it… they too had been put to rest. Gritting his teeth and pushing through with bitterness, he’d survey the field before recasting his buffs. Given the time remaining however, he’d opt for a focused one. Perhaps it would yield better results?

    Arachna is now enraged

    profile

As the Spider Queen’s health begins to drop massively, being stabbed, burnt, and crushed, the giantess collapses to the ground while staggering from either pain. In fact, the health bar seems near non-existent despite the creature still having a last breath in her. Sensing her own pending doom, she lets out a sorrowful wail before initiating one final assault upon the adventurers. If Arachna was fated to die, she'd make sure that she wouldn't be alone in the underworld!

The gargantuan spider's new corpse like figure begins tremble violently, this time convulsing with a spasmodic like reaction while building up an even great er force before. Seemingly all of the hair on its body was expelled with incredible force, impaling everyone within the vicinity repeatedly. The sky would momentarily blot black as countless needles rained hell down upon the adventurers as a final parting gift to her bitter acquaintances.

Felicitas floated, for a moment, in nothingness. She vaguely remembered being crushed, she thought, and shuddered as her avatar fully formed again. She glanced around, seeing those who were crushed slowly reviving, one by one, and felt a thrill of fear, seeing just how many this beast had killed. Looking on the thing again, she stilled, her eyes widening. How could anyone have faced this and survived?! How had she not run the first time she laid eyes on the thing. In the back of her mind, she felt a warm light shine on her, and looked at her menu, seeing a rather large buff, from one Jack Anders. She would have to thank him later. As she watched, blow after blow landed, eating away at the health bar. Felicitas felt her anger slowly eat at her fear, until her quiet whimpers stopped, and her mouth pursed. She had come back to do what she could to finish this, and she would do everything in her power. She screamed, in equal parts fear and fury, and raised her hands, shouting the first chant she had memorized. She continued yelling nonsense and insults as the grandest fireball she'd ever produced flew, and connected with a satisfying hiss. She forced herself to stand her ground and watch the aftermath, finding her hammer to be raised as she panted. Her fear roiled in the back of her mind, but a thick wall of adrenaline separated her from it, and she kept watching, waiting, as the health bar dropped to zero.

This was the end. Arachna herself could sense it. Her body crumpled to the ground as that mutated and morphed head looked about wearily, it'd finally set its head down to rest. The creature had been tasked to reap havoc and terror, to sow death and destruction, however it had all come to stop.

Those eight beady eyes stared about exhaustively as the final blow struck resoundingly at her rear abdomen, snuffing out the final flames of life within the gargantuan. Free at last! Free at last... A soft whisper could be heard in the minds of all those around the spider queen as the body stirred no more. The world had finally been rid of one more evil as the field grew still and the eerie morning silence took over once again.

    Arachna Attacks

    Just kidding.

    C O N G R A T U L A T I O N !
    Arachana has been vanquished

After the Queen’s vanquish, the Ynglar Brotherhood and members of the Monster Hunter League surveyed the desecrated forest, making sure nothing of the tainted Queen remain. The Ynglar mages purged the last of the gassy venom that began seeping from her morphed and mangled corpse, making absolutely sure it doesn’t cause any more destruction than it already had. When one of the mages reported to the squad’s leader after he found a barely alive adventurer, the squad leader gave his team the permission to resuscitate the heroic @Rein before he died (one-time courtesy).

The Monster Hunters couldn’t be any more impressed with the participants of the battle. The leader of their expedition, Venson Gnoss announced that anyone who had participate in the vanquish of Aracha the Bloodied Queen may join the Monster Hunter League, whose goal is to to destroy as many of these world-class monsters as they can.

In a speech addressed to everyone who were at the site, “Brothers and sisters, it has not only been a spectacular battle, but also a time of pain and a time of loss. However, let us honor the dead and look back to this day as the day we triumphed over a monster made by vile blood magic. If there are stories of unwilling corruption like Arachna, surely there will be a lot more out there in this dangerous world of our. As such, I, Venson Gnoss, the 2nd officer of the League, invite you all to the Monster Hunter League."

He paused and continued, "We are those who stop these vile creatures from destroying our beloved world, we are guardians and we will protect and hunt valorously. I commend you all on your hard work. Let us forget the pain today and let it be a day of celebrated triumph and a day of initiation should you join us. Now, let us feast in celebration!!!”

After the speech, the Monster Hunters began bringing tools to break down the Spider Queen’s shriveled up carcass. It was their tradition to let no part go to waste. You wonder what they could possibly do with the remains.

While there was much less fanfare around the Ynglar Brotherhood, who were off to the side, they seemed to be open to dialogue with you. This order is mostly interested in negotiating with magic practitioners. Should you talk to their agents, they would say that they are interested in you joining their order, however, those who do not have the brooch will have to undergo some trials before they are initiated into the secretive order.

Despite seeming as though death had muddied your paths, new connections have opened up. What will happen from now on?

    Reward

Anyone who had stayed and saw the Spider Queen to the end have earned the completion bonus of 8 valor, regardless of whether or not they are alive.

Anyone who had joined the boss fight after she became enraged have not had enough time for the participation to get the completion bonus. If this is you, you may keep your valor for the next world boss. Access to the League's vendor is disabled this time.

Anyone who deserted the pick-up group at any point in the battle do not earn the completion bonus either. If this is you, you may keep your valor for the next world boss. The League also refuses to sell to dishonored hunters.

Final hit to the boss receives 1 extra valor @Felicitas Hellewege.
