  1. img Jaluna's only saving grace considering her lack of knowledge of the city, after so many trips there, was the cab system. Perhaps because it was her third or fourth trip in the past month, if not more she'd just failed to keep memory of, some of the cab drivers on the particular shift seemed to recognize her when she was clearly lost and seeking a ride. Of course, it helped that one of them was a friend of a friend.

Sure, she wasn't broke anymore these days, but she still couldn't pass up a discount.

The cab pulled up to the spa- or at least, that's what the young woman would call it, based on the things done in it and having been told it was one, despite the name feeling more meant for a place teaching yoga or Tai-chi. She thanked the driver with a nice tip, considering he'd lowered the fare (which was probably going to get him in trouble later). He told her to say hi to their mutual friend, which she'd gladly do- well, whenever she saw 'the giant' again, which sometimes took a while to get a meeting to work out. Looking down at a piece of paper she'd folded probably a million times while in the car, she unfurled it to reread the name of the place she sought.

Unlike the rather luxurious sign of the Bronx establishment, the words on her paper were in possibly the worst chicken-scratch known to man- but they both said the same thing, minus an added note or two she'd written way back when she got the info.

"The Body Zen, huh? Okay, Jaluna, deep breath... It's not like you've never been to a spa before. I mean, it's been over a decade and I never went alone but..." A soft shiver through her spine followed her inside. It felt far too luxurious to be anything she could afford, but she'd looked up the pricing and it seemed fair to her at the time. Sputtering at the counter, she mused her request. They called it something simple despite their notable name.

She ordered a full package, adding one small thing.

"I-I was told to note that I was referred by a miss Dhalia." Her words sounded rather uncertain, though it was just the nerves in her starting to misfire, the redness of her cheeks becoming bolder in tone. Mixing rosacea, cold weather and anxiety was really quite bad for her complexion.

Well, at least she didn't look like a ghost! She'd have to thank her lucky stars for that, while the person at the desk began making a call to Dhalia. Inside her jacket, she shuddered.

It's not just my body that needs zen. I hope this helps me get some for my head too... If I just remember to focus...

  2. The receptionist sported long brown hair, tied neatly into a layered tail as she looked up at the girl who was walking into the establishment. The scent of lavender was in the air, even at the entrance to the building the room was filled with a scent that was both inviting and relaxing. Smiling with red lips, the receptionist folded her hands at the desk as the woman walked over to her.

"Appointement?" she asked, getting the the details of a Miss Jaluna. Having typed in the name and reading the records on the computer system, the woman continued to smile. Her golden name tag flashed revealing Candi as to her name. The woman with the red lipstick smiled and clicked a button over her ear on the headset. "Dhalia, your 2pm has arrived. Yes, I'll let her know." Looking back up at Miss Jaluna, Candi and her dark set green eyes looked to her and motioned for one of the seats.

"Dhalia will be with you in just a moment, Miss. She is just finishing up with another customer. Feel free to sit and relax for a moment while she tidies up the room and come gets you."

Candi moved her eyes from the girl and back to her computer screen. She had continued working at her station answering calls and making new appointments. Every five minutes one of the ladies at the desk would answer the phone, people from all over New York had been attempting to get a massage at this place, as if it were some Five Star Hotel.

The scent of lavender continued to flow. Spacious and welcoming atmospheric sounds and music was uplifted over the place through the speakers of the building giving all those who listen a calm and tranquil environment. Candi looked at Jaluna, "You seem a little nervous, don't worry. Dhalia is very good at what she does. All that nervousness will just wash away once she gets her hands on you."

Candi attempted to asure the nervous girl that things will be alright. Soon enough, the clicking of heels on the tiled floor began to make a clacking sound, someone walking towards the door to the entrance to the inner sanctum of the building. The door opened by a male, a coat slung over his shoulders followed by a woman, tall with the high heels and long golden air reaching down to her lower back. The bright smile and the azure eyes shimmered as she clasped the hand of her last custome

  3. The receptionist tried so hard to calm her, it made Jaluna feel a bit bad about the way her brain tended to work- if only because she knew anxiety wasn't just a mindset but a way of her life. She'd been anxious without going to this appointment, however. That was why she desperately needed this time.

She couldn't smell the relaxing scent, but that didn't mean aromatherapy was lost on the woman. Lavender was a favorite of her's for a reason, if only because she knew it often calmed her nerves and lowered her headaches when she used her specially-infused eye cover. It felt even more like she had it with her because it was just plain cold outside, and she usually kept it prepared in the freezer for cooling pain relief. This time, it only healed her heart a bit- but that was pretty good and helpful, all the same.

She jumped slightly as she found her eyes fixated on the familiar figure. Sure, they'd only met once. In fact, she wasn't fully sure whether their unusual meet up at the mall counted as a real 'meeting' at all, since of the group, Dhalia hadn't stayed as involved in the otherwise energetic conversation, or so she had felt. Still, seeing a face she'd seen before made this place far less intimidating, which was good, since it wasn't supposed to be.

A soft redness took her cheeks as she waved back. Considering the woman appeared just as dressed up as her last memory, and considering said memory was partially of her own embarrassment as it was, Jaluna couldn't help being a little uncertain if she was under-dressed and just making a plain silly mistake.

A hand clasping her's after she'd seen the man before her wander away, done with his treatment, Jaluna tried to take a deep breathe before bowing her head slightly. What was the proper method of introduction again? "I'm Jaluna Rolik- we met briefly over the holidays. Thank you again for your information about this place. I look forward to working with you today."

  4. "Working with me? Hahaha. Well, if you really want to give me a massage that's totally up to you!" Dhalia had laughed lightly at Jaluna's comment, "No, no, deary. Today, I am working on you. Well, Miss Roik, I am Dhalia. It's quite nice to meet you again. I am glad one of you girls took my offer. We've been pretty busy building out clientele, ya know? So anyone we can get through our doors is a big plus. Well, follow me!"

Dhalia shook Miss Rolik's hand and turned sharply around. Her hands forward and the door opened up to her guest as she waved her on through, "Candi, dim the light in room five for me please."

"Yes, Miss Dhalia. You enjoy your time, Miss Jaluna. Like I said, good hands." Candi waved to the customer as a unique control panel on her computer interface allowed her controls to all the rooms in the building. Dhalia giggled lightly, "You are my last appointment today, but it's gonna be a great one. Woops. Stop here, Miss Rolik. In through this door you'll be in a changing room. I need you to strip down, there will be a set of white towels that you can use. There should be plenty of hangers for your clothes as well and a space for your shoes. Once you are undressed and toweled, you will see another door inside. Open that door and it'll lead to where the fun will begin! I'll see you shortly!"

Dhalia folded her arms after explaining and more or less hurried her customer into that changing room. Still with a bright, cheery smile, Dhalia's heels clicked against the smooth surface of the tiled floor as she went further down the hallway towards the next room as well.

In the changing room were many rows of hangers for customers to hang up their clothes. Next to that was a station of clean, soft towels for them to wrap themselves into. This spa was as luxurious as they came, Five Star rating for a relatively new place in New York and becoming a celebrity hot spot as well for musicians and actors alike. Dhalia had prided herself on her work and her experience as a masseuse, even if the road she was on was a little bumpy. She went into the next room while Jaluna changed.

The room was dim of light, scattered about was the fresh scent of an ocean and the room was at peace with a soundtrack that helped customers relax while they were given their massage. Dhalia slipped off her high heels and started to wash her hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. She had tied her long golden hair behind her back into a neat, yet quick braid and waited for her customer. The room was spacious and the gamma waves seemed to weave in every part of the room along with scent of an ocean.

The low lights gave a relaxful state of mind, accompanied by pieces of art scattered about the room that was reminiscent of a person's third eye awakening. The massage room had an in ground bath, and of course the massage table which looked very comfortable. A row of hot oils, both scented and non lined a small cart where Dhalia stood, cherry lips wide with a smile awaiting her guest. She looked around the room as her toes drummed lightly against the floor while waiting. All that was left was to guide Jaluna to the table and begin the wonderful treatment!
