  1. Those innocent eyes were just too convincing. Children were real demons sometimes, charming both men and women alike in order to do their bidding. Either that or the old man was just too soft and took it upon himself to find a lost cat. Not him, of course, because last Odin checked he was a bipedal feline that knew where he was at all times. Perhaps he was lost, curiosity two seconds away from killing the cat. Looking foolish was part of the veteran's shtick, tail waving back and forth while he checked a pile of rubble on all fours, "Heeere lil' kitty cat! Ain't no reason to make this here task hard like. Come ooon, one cat to another." Yes, because normal cats had the capability for verbal diplomacy with a guy whose sole, feline traits were ears and a tail.

He grunted, large hand pushing a busted chair to the side, brow cocked and eyes ready for action. That cat did come this way, Odin was certain. Bumpkin was his target's name, or something to that extent. He was not about to argue with a couple of adorable kids in regards to their naming process. He wanted grandkids now, damnit. Somebody had to deal with the inane stories with variable bouts of romanticizing and tweaked content. Being able to witness a game like this meant event the search for a cat was prime opportunity for making this into a monster's lair instead of being caused by having way too big of a heart. Odin was good about that. Nobody had to know about his charitable ways unless it made him look good.

Ears perked up at the sounds of a nearby meow, eyes scanning the trash mounds, "Yer first mistake was bein' an obvious cat!" Crouched on the ground, fingers curled and knees bent into his body, the old Felis made a careful maneuver to close the distance. In his foolishness, his idea was more akin to someone from one of those old cartoons sneaking about by way of fingers and toes rather than a hunter ready to pounce on his prey. Curious, however, that the meow continued, yet with no other sign of the cat itself. "Wut in the the? Coulda sworn the darn thang was," he began, only for his eyes to wander towards the low branch of a once well regarded tree. Of course. Well, better to get this done now rather than later.

Lunging up towards one branch, the aging Felis bent low as he positioned himself to gain a sense of balance. Easy considering his choice of race allowed even the bulkiest of player characters to gain some form of dexterity. One step, and another, followed by raising his backside towards the tree itself. He needed to move without surprising the real cat, as the little guy remained content with licking its paw. "That's right, just keep doin' yer cat thang there," Odin said, cheek to cheek grin widening with every step. Knees and hands gripped tight on the new platform, which held up both inhabitants quite well. Even the sounds of breaking were no match for Odin Savage's wit and predatory instinct!

Wait. Breaking sounds while on a tree branch was a bad sign, was it not?

The branch shuddered, lowering towards the ground, giving the bulky cat man a chance to narrow his eyes, "Why yew sneaky sunuvabitch..." Beneath him the tree's extension gave way to gravity, a loud thud resonating about the abandoned rubble once man and branch collided with the ground. Odin lay on his back, arms outstretched and gazing towards the sky, "Whoozzit... someone git that... that plate on the truck that juzzzt hit me." Low levels in a video game meant feeling the impacts of his decisions. Hell, even real life had those moments where it felt it necessary to teach the old man a lesson. Blurred vision caught sight of the mewling cat, who had landed just fine and ran off into the rubble again, "Yer a baaaad kitty. Uuurgh."

  2. The capital was rubble once again, needing to be rebuilt. For Solaria, that was a cruel fact that she'd have to find a way to deal with. One of her methods was regularly patrolling areas that were still notably in ruins, looking for kids that went to play in the dangerous pits of stone and gravel that were not yet being worked on, or for people who got injured and were already on their way back.

It was during one of these treks that she heard it- a sharp sound of something falling and making a notable thud. A cat rushed past her from the source of the sound, or at least the same direction. It seemed unharmed, so she let it go. Instead, she used it to guarantee herself she was on the right track as she rushed towards what she feared could be the collapse of a pile of rocks onto someone.

On the ground was a familiar man, bulging muscles and ears that likely had heard the sound as loud as she had based on the feline shape they had to them. She made her way to his side fairly quickly, kneeling down beside him and pressing her hand to his exposed chest. She felt magic flow through her body into her hand, leading to his chest. Hopefully, thanks to her skill level, it would spread out over time into his possibly injured back- at least enough so that it wouldn't be harmful for him to move.

"That sounded like quite the fall. You should probably be more cautious about climbing trees when you're a larger man. A cat has an easier time on branches because they're small and have less mass in general. Even if you're not obese, your musculature is thick, so you actually weigh quite a bit from that. Anatomy is interesting that way."

A small smile tugged at her lips. Talking about something intriguing still made her happy, particularly when she had noted he sounded like he said something around the time she found him. "Were you trying to catch that cat? I saw it run past me, but it looked almost like it was afraid of something. Or at least, I thought it did. I figured the sound must've gotten it spooked, but maybe it wasn't that after all? Gods can be spooky after all... Odin's the name of a god, right? I heard someone talk about it recently."
