Private - A day off in Boston

Private - A day off in Boston

  1. Arctodus lay in bed in his room fingering a paper slip. The room looked mostly bare, just a carpeted floor with blue walls. For furniture there was a king sized bed with a bin of folded clothes at the foot of the bed, at the corner of the room lay a desk with a computer, full dive gear and loveseat. On the slip was the number that his friend Zelrius had given him while in full dive. Apparently this was Zelrius's number out of game. He had given this to him after finding out he lived only an hours drive away from Boston out of game. Arctodus had just spent the better part of yesterday busting his ass at chopping down trees so naturally when he had gotten home last night he just crashed. Now, however he lay awake on one of his off days of work and didn't know what to do, so he figured he would send Zelrius a text to see if he wanted to hang out with a night on the town. Making up his mind he drafted up the text he wanted to send. "Hey its Arctodus... from Terrasphere? I am off of work today and I wanted to see if you still wanted to hang out?" He hit the send button and hopped on his computer to browse while he waited for a response.[/text]

  2. Zelrius sat in the kitchen having a munch at away at an energy bar of some sorts, the common in between Terra Sessions snack that he'd have. The cheap as all hell smart phone that Zelrius owned buzzed on the table, in which the man glanced over to see a text from some sort of Rhode Island Number. That must've been Arctodus, whom Rayvil himself had just given the number two yesterday under the Name Zelrius, in the game of Terrasphere.

He messaged back of course, one handed, with thumb, as the fingers held the phone vertical and wobbly.

    Rayvil

Yea, Totally. I will send you over my address, just come up and knock whenever it is you get here and then we can see what there is to do around Boston today, I guess.

It was weird, having made a friend from Terrasphere so quickly, but exciting at the same time. With another message the man sent over his address to the benehmoth, and then went back to his room to finish up what he was doing on Terra and get to a safe long-term Log-out location while waiting for Arc to arrive.

  3. Arctodus was in the middle of a particularly good plate of biscuits and gravy when he got the responding text from Rayvil. He glanced it over and proceeded to finish his plate, throw on a black shirt and black work jeans and walk to his living room. On his way by the couch he grabbed the keys on the nightstand next to it and walked out the front door, locking it behind him. He walked down the steps to his door and turned into his driveway, with a press of a button he unlocked the doors to his refurbished 1993 Ford Mustang. Of course it was modified so that the seat sat lower to the floorboard so that he could even fit inside of it. He put in a CD of some of his favorite classic rock music and pulled out of his driveway, he sent a text to Rayvil that he was leaving Providence to head to Boston.[/text]

  4. After finishing what he said he would in Terra, now it was a waiting game. He logged out and sat on the couch of his parent's living room in their apartment, waiting to see any sort of car pull up and for Arctodus to get out. The man wondered now if the man looked anything like his in game character, just as Zelrius did himself. Still, it would be the 20 to thirty minute wait left in that hour until he arrived, so the man just played on his phone, waiting.

  5. Arctodus endured the winding roads through the forests, his mind toiling the whole while. He wondered which method of physical strength gain was most imperative on terrasphere. Bestial ancestry vs (Lheo) Deitic champion. It had been a pressing concern on his mind for a time now. He was in internal debate over the topic all the way to the address he had been given. He had to put a pause on that while he went to the door to go knock for his friend.

  6. The small tapping at the door, The man hopped up and let his new-found friend, though stood in the doorway in awe, as he had to crane his head quite far upward to look at the towering man. "G-giant?!" he exclaimed in disbelief, not quite expecting the immense height and strength of Arctodus. Sure, that was how large he was in game, but in real life? This was something entirely new on its own. Rayvil quickly blinked and gained his senses again, stepping out the door. "I-eh. Want to watch a movie or some shit?"

  7. The door opened before him and Arctodus got his first real life view of his friend, Rayvil. The mans hair was about the same length as in game, but a lighter shade of blonde. His face was more high-born and aristocratic in real life. He wore a button up dress shirt with the top button undone for breathing room and black dress pants. He had no shoes on as a pair of worn looking pair of running shoes sat at the entry way to his abode. From what Arctodus's deductive mind could gather, he looked like someone who worked in business and had recently gotten off of work. The pair of running shoes that looked like they had seen lots of use suggested running as a hobby or way of keeping in good health. He flashed a thumb drive and said "I actually got the new star wars movie here, I haven't seen it yet and I thought it'd be a good idea to watch it with someone else to poke fun at it."

  8. Rayvil grinned, the man was a behemoth, and holy shit was that unreal. But the grin wasn't for that; instead it was at the new star wars movie, something that Rayvil had actually wanted to see, but was glad that this man had brought it over, saving them the trouble of either buying it, or even worse; going to the movie theatre. Rayvil nodded, gesturing to let the man in and heading to the Living room, where he pointed at a laptop hooked up to the large screen sat on a desk, pointing to it to let him put the disk drive him, making small talk along the way. "So, how was the drive? Not too bad I hope. I know that the traffic here on the East Coast can certainly be something else, and it feels like it gets worse and worse every god damn year."

  9. "Honestly the traffic wasn't all that horrible, although it is because I left so late in the evening so I'd reach the Boston outskirts in the early morning and I could catch traffic at a quiet hour. Also the traffic is definitely worsening, i've noticed it too." The giant of a man spoke as he walked over to the laptop and stuck the flash drive in. He clicked the prompt to open the contents in file explorer and started up the movie in fullscreen. Then he walked over to the L shaped couch covering the opposite corner of the room and sat down. Afterwards he slung his duffel bag off his shoulder and set it on the couch between him and Rayvil. He zipped it open and revealed the contents to be a bunch of junk food for snacks and an assortment of beverages ranging from alcohol to energy drinks and even more besides.

  10. "Aye, that is true," And with the small talk over, an assortment of junk food and drinks provided, and a shitty star wars movie now beginning, the movie day was on. This particular Star Wars, The Last Jedi, was by far Rayvil's least favourite. Between the scenes where Kylo Ren and Rey are somehow connected because of Snoke, Princess Leia dying but then not Dying because she's force sensitive, the black dude and asian chick 'sticking it to capitalism' on a gambling planet before being saved by a weird 'hacker dude', Luke dying in an astral projection of himself to fight Kylo Ren on a distant planet, and The Jedi records of their religion being burnt, it was overall very underwhelming. There were a few great scenes like when Captain SocialJustice flew the dying spaceship going Lightspeed into Snokes Ship, though I suppose it wasn't Snoke's anymore; Given that Rey and Kylo had killed him just moments earlier. Still, that leaves a lot of room for the next one to pick up off of, what with all our original trilogy characters dead now and Rayvil was more than interested to see how George Lucas and Disney ruined the next Three movies in this series. With that one over, he stood and picked out one of his old favourites; the Matrix series.

  11. Arctodus definitely got original trilogy vibes from the story, but the sheer amount of money loaded into the movie by Disney salvaged pretty much everything but the shit story. He got excited by the appearance of a Matrix CD, his favorite movie before Interstellar came out. They sat back and watched the story unfold of a hacker named Thomas Anderson, who came to find out his entire reality was a lie and underwent a journey of self discovery to become a messiah figure for the real human race who was nearly driven to extinction by a bunch of machines that rose up against them. He made sure to point out the different visual cues in the movie, like how in the real world the colors were tinted blue and in the virtual world everything was green tinted. It made him come to a startling realization, that with today's technology of virtual reality, a scenario like the one they were seeing was not too far off from being possible.

  12. And after the first Matrix movie, of course Zelrius brought in of the same line, hoping to keep a kind of sci-fi theme; Interstellar. A Planet disease ridden and falling apart saved by a man who goes on an epic journey through space, only to find that his time near singularities and places of high Gravity causes the laws of relativity to act upon him; what felt like hours to him were years and years back at home, where he completely missed his own children growing up. And through some rip in Space-Time,is able to travel back in time and communicate via morse code to his daughter to allow the timeline to continue as normal, and help them better understand the situation, with the man returning some eighty years later a hero to the humans of Earth. Strange, he wondered how true the science of that particular movie held up.

  13. Arctodus was never one to turn down his favorite movie and as such waited patiently, enthralled in the struggles of Cooper to try to save the human race. He would deny to his dying day that the shine in his eyes when Cooper watched the messages after the time skip on the submerged planet were tears. After the movie finished Arctodus decided to finish their little scy-fy kick before moving onto another genre and pulled out an old favorite of his, Prometheus. He soaked in the movie as two scientists led an expedition to find the creator species of humanity, the engineers. A race of pale bald humanoids about as tall as Arctodus. Instead what they found waiting for them were alien horrors. They eventually found one of who they were looking for, but he turned out to be hostile to humanity and tried to kill them. The engineer met his hands at the tentacles of the Trilobyte, a creature that made Arctodus squeamish due to its resemblence to another creature in the franchise, the facehugger, one of the few things that gave the giant nightmares.

  14. Prometheus was truly something out of a horror movie, putting the old Alien Horrors like the Alien vs Predator Movies, or even Signs to shame. That was mind boggling terrifying and while there were some writing errors that bugged Rayvil consistently, it was still overall a great watch. If you asked him, he'd tell you he wasn't scared; after all, did he jump up in fright once during the movie? No, of course not. What he wouldn't tell you is that there's a difference between being jump scared, and legitimate fear, especially fear of the question 'What if?' Maybe he would switch to something a bit lighter hearted. The new Blade Runner.
At the end of Blade Runner 2049, K has discovered that he has been caught up in a conspiracy, with one faction of replicants hoping that he’ll track down the child of Rick Deckard and Rachel , thus ushering in a new age where replicants are respected on the same level as humanity, and the Wallace corporation, who want to dissect the child and use it as a template to breed a new workforce of replicants. In the end, K, after killing Niander Wallace’s top aide, Luv, rescues Deckard and tells him that he should be safe since the Wallace corporation will assume he died in an accident.

The two make their way to the memory-making facility where K has figured out that Dr. Ana Stelline is Deckard’s daughter. K made this realization after piecing together that his “memories” of the horse and fighting off bullies wasn’t his childhood but Ana’s. Because Deckard obscured the records, because of the blackout in 2022, and because of her auto-immune condition (which she may or may not actually have, but could have been an excuse to protect her) that kept her indoors, Ana has remained safe but also ignorant of her true parentage. K stays outside the facility and dies from his injuries while Deckard goes inside to meet his daughter.

  15. Arctodus needed some time to process all the info from movie after movie and he also happened to be hungry, so it was that he decided to make lunch for the two of them. Turning to Rayvil he suggested the idea and went on to ask him if he wanted to go on a drive to the grocery store, so he could pick up the ingredients for lunch, dinner and breakfast in that order. After all Arctodus was a actual giant so he needed to pack a lot of food away to even function normally.
