    The After Party

In the aftermath of the defense against the Spider Queen, the Lord of Harbard set up a massive party to celebrate the achievement of the brave adventurers who risk death to help the city. This party had begun after the sun has set, giving everyone enough time to recover from the several hours long fight.

The party is held at the Lord’s banquet hall, there is lots of food, drinks and music for all to enjoy. Anyone, regardless of their participation in the attack on Arachna may join.

    This Thread:
As said above, anyone can join the afterparty, regardless if they took part in the attack on Arachna.

    Megathread Rules:
    There is no posting order.
You are not required to stay, come and leave as you please.
If you want to address specific people, tag them with @name.
Oh, and have lots of fun!~

Among the guests that mingled within the Lord's hall. A familiar light blue haired girl stuck out. Not paying much attention to the NPC's in the room. Her eyes focused on the people that mattered. The heroes, the adventurers, the players! It was they who had fought to the last breath even as the Spider Queen assailed them with her great power. They who sacrificed their lives on the forefront of battle! Ahhhh.... the amazingly stupendous story was making Trinity so sentimental. The NPC that acted (not with any of the players consent unfortunately) as the mascot of the game. Trinity stood by a side table that held many drinks and deserts. Above that table was a portrait of the city of Harbard. The rather out of place girl picked up a drink and looked at the carbonated whitish substance within the glass.

"This must be soda! Or wine! How does it taste I wonder? *Sniff* *sniff*, doesn't smell like anything really. Well, down the hatch!"

The girl took a sip, mimicking a very well to do drinking stance.. then stopped for second, blinked and continued to drink the entire glass. She then put the glass down with her usual constantly happy look. It still tasted like nothing to her. She could not tell if it was soda, or wine, or radio active fluid for all she could tell from taste alone. The data of the drink said white wine. It did not even have a burn like a alcoholic substance should. The girl was not surprised though. Trinity was very used to being unable to taste anything. Taste was meant for the heroes who played in Terrasphere.

She loved them so much. Trinity felt that they were having so much fun, and their fun was her fun! She loved being their tutorial girl and mascot! As well as anything else the game was requiring her to be for them! Trinity would be ignored by the other NPC's in the game for the most part. They were not designed to mingle with her, but the players did not ignore her!

Taking a quick look around she saw a few more of the heroes arrive! She would take this chance to shout out across the hall. One that only the players would react to if they so chose.

"Congratulations! You guys did really well out there! I hope you enjoyed the battle! I could see you all pushed yourselves to the limit! But you also all grew and made new friends! Bravo! Bravo! Yay players of Terrasphere!"

  3. Enough excitement for one day was not going to stop the man from logging back in. At this point he was in for the long haul, seeing where this game's story took him. To the cat man's surprise, and after party was being held in Harbard, ready for any and all who decided to bother showing up. Not that Alonso knew many players in this world. So far his quests and the like have all been a one stop shop and off he goes to his next task. Few of the refreshments were taken by the man, not up to being a gluttony filled beast of a man.

"She's starting to be a broken record," he thought, glancing over at the light blue haired girl. Sipping his drink, he remained seated on his sturdy, wooden chair with arms resting on the table. Nobody else had sat down by him yet. Figures, but he concluded that the NPCs around here might still be wary of a Felis whose mass outclassed everybody else in the room. Alonso's quiet mannerisms did not help tone down the brooding reputation he was exhuming. Reaching out to others might have done the man some good.

Alonso had gotten his hopes up. Part of him wanted to see that NPC child he helped reunite with her parents. There were no quests bound to the young one, and at this point he figured it best to leave the matter be. Not everything had to give a reward. Sooner or later Alonso was going to have to buckle down and find a place in this world that would provide the man some form of meaning. He played video games to escape reality after work, and still the big man found himself sitting around. Alonso sighed, raising his glass and taking in another sip of water.

Maybe someone would keep him company. Well, as long as it was not the riff raff.

  4. Blackness…

His world had been consumed by blackness…

His body was numb; he couldn’t move at all…

A small light glowed, far away, perhaps miles away from him.

    It grew.

Larger and larger, he could tell the light was closing in on him.

He could start to feel his body once more, his nerves activating with a sharp sensation of pain.

The light consumed him turning everything white.

His body was on fire, air forcing itself into his lungs.

    “AAAAAGGGHHHH!”
screamed Rein as he erupted up from the table, pushing the light cotton sheet away from his body. He was surrounded by a group of robed priest, each who looked at him with guarded uncertainty. One wearing a more elaborate hat shifted forwards, clearing his throat with a cough, “Ah, welcome back..sir..” the man seemed to struggle coming up with a title for him before deciding on sir. Rein flashed an indignant stare at the man, “The hell am I doing here?” He demanded in a toxic tone. As the man with the hat, presumably the high priest shifted nervously in place, Rein became more aware of the others in the room. It wasn’t just the priest but more than a handful of civilians from the local town, he seemed to be in some sort of a church laying upon a dais in the middle of the parapet. He couldn’t help but cringe at the thought of being on such unholy grounds as that of the false gods, but that didn’t explain why he was there. Finally, the high priest spoke up again, “Ah.” He said, “My son, you have been graced a second chance by our lord, due to your bravery against the Archana Queen.”

As the man spoke flashes of memory burned themselves into Rein’s mind. A giant spider god, covered in blood, a false idol, its bladed arms crashing into him, and everything turning black. He had died? It seemed so, but this was the same world he had been in before. Or was it? No, he looked around he was certain he hadn’t passed over to the player’s world. A cruel smile dipped his lips as he jumped up from the dais, stretching his hand as he channeled electricity into it. “Ahhh sir, please sit down, the ceremony is not quite over, your resurrection is not yet complete.” The high priest moved forward ushering his followers to help convince Rein to remain seated.

A deep chuckle began to emerge from within Rein’s chest, causing the men to flinch and freeze in their place. “Fools,” he said in a half laugh and growl, “Indulgent, nonbelievers, do you really expect me to believe it was by your grace that I returned?” His voice was reserved yet full of indignant anger, his left hand flexing as tendrils of electricity rose and fell from it. “Do you think I am some lowly villager you could convince with your blasphemous words?” Edging closer towards the priest Rein saw a great deal of confusion wave across his face. “You don’t seem to understand…” Rein continued as he walked menacingly forward, “I live because I willed it, I returned because the universe made my will so, you fools and your false gods will receive the credit, but you know deep within your heart that it is I who is in complete control. This universe, is how I will it!”

Rein stopped, surprising himself with his self-restraint, but even he knew there were limits to what he could get away with inside the house of the false gods. After all, death may be temporary to a being like him, but they could make his existence painfully more tedious than it needed to be. With a great deal of effort, he retained his self-control as he stormed through the throng of people who had gathered to witness his miracle. “Idiots.” Rein thought, “Players revive every day without fail and they don’t crowd around them with such interest. “As he made it to the door he turned to see one of them frozen as they looked at him, a hollow screech coming from its throat, one that everyone else in the room seemed to ignore. He had broken another one it seemed. No matter, it would disappear eventually. He jammed his foot into the door at the front of the building pushing it outwards as he headed out onto the street.

Dazed by the sunset he looked up, a good three to four hours had passed since he was last conscious. The lack of sound confirmed his suspicion that the false spider god had fallen, which made sense as it seemed to be on its last leg when he had last checked. Still, there may be something he could gain by examining its body so he pushed towards the edge of town.

Time passed as he pushed his way through the throng of people, barking out at those that refused to acknowledge his presence. Eventually he made his way to the front gate where he could see a large clearing in the forest before him. Already the area was covered with a variety of lumberjacks, hauling the fallen wood out, salvaging what they could and stacking them in large piles to be carried off by horse drawn carts. What was missing in the covering was the fallen god, Rein was sure something so large would be visible from this distance, unless… had it gotten away? A quick smirk growing Rein turned to the gate guard, “You there,” he growled, “Where is the Spider god at?” The man looked at Rein with a level gaze of uncertainty. It was a common enough look that Rein received quite often, so he ignored it as he awaited his answer. “The monster was dissembled, and used for materials over a week ago.” The soldier replied.

The words struck Rein like a bolt to the gut. Over a week had passed since his death. This was far beyond his speculations. How could it take this long to revive himself? Player’s revived within hours, not days, meanwhile he was forced to wait an entire week? Perhaps he was wrong about being related to the players, perhaps he was something very different after all..

The party has come to an early end. Unfortunately, many people who had died were not interested in socializing after they were mercilessly slain by the Spider Queen. Perhaps the next party will be grander...
