    This ancient place called paradise.
To follow its order for all eternity.
    To exterminate all intruders.

Norforva, a god-forsaken place tainted by blood magic. An area full of dangers threatening enough for even the bravest to keep their distance. The few that dare to venture deeper into this place, lured by false hopes and dreams, are never to be heard of again. This is how it has always been. This is how it will always be.

Every now and then, however, a miracle happens. For the individual, the greatest day of their life. For the common folk, simply the rekindling of an already dying flame.

A Miracle for one, A Curse for many.
    Over and over again.
    A never-ending cycle.

    ...

imgIn the middle of nowhere, at the base of an impressive mountain: The supposed to be meeting spot. If not for the fact that more and more brave adventurers were slowly gathering here it could easily be mistaken for the wrong place. Then again, maybe it was precisely because this place blended so ordinarily into its surroundings that such a big discovery was made? Or maybe it was simply a ruse? After all, Nora the Explorer didn't seem to be the most serious of all.

As the few fated people had all gathered and given a few minutes of exchange, they could hear one of the more annoying and quirky voices the game had to offer. "Hola! Over here!" A girl yelled from... further up the mountain? Waving her hands like a maniac. "You're my esteemed adventurer people, right? So get up here!" The fact the blonde seemed rather oblivious to her dangerous surrounding made one wonder if this really wasn't just all for naught.

"Hurry, Hurry!" Luckily for them, it wasn't all too high up and was simply more of an arduous walk rather than actual mountain climbing.

"One... two... three..." Doing a quick head-count as everybody assembled in front of Nora she gave a satisfying nod. "... eight. Alright, that'll have to do! So, listen up everyone! As you should be aware, I am Nora! Genius explorer, supreme archeologist, AND innovative inventor! Also 27 years old and NOT a child. Anyone who doesn't keep that in mind will get their pay cut... yeah! Also, this is my best bud E.P. he's a great and cool half-albino parrot. Say hello E.P!"

    img
    E.P.
    SQUAWK!

"He's a very sensible parrot. So please mind what you say around him!"
The seagull parrot was standing proudly on the Explorer's shoulder. Clearing her throat and closing her eyes for a second, Nora's entire demeanor became suddenly a lot more serious.

"Alright, we aren't here for a picnic and I'm itching to get into this place! As great of a person as I am, I'm very well aware I'm terrible when it comes to actual offensive, not to mention..." Nora fell silent for a moment before shaking her head. "Nevermind. Essentially, you don't have to worry about me running off and dying a silly death! Whatever you tell me to do, I will listen... as long as it is sensible." The blonde made an ominous pause before simply smiling.

"Now, before we continue and share our life stories with each other or whatever. How about we head inside?" Nora, together with E.P., nodded in self-confirmation before pointing towards an ordinary formation of rocks that was close-by as well. "The entrance is rather narrow!" Without any more input, the woman simply disappeared behind the cold stone.

Once inside, the group was greeted by what seemed to be just an ordinary cave, reaching deeper and deeper into the inside of the gigantic mountain while steadily going downwards. So far, nothing out of the ordinary. "I can hear you asking how could someone ever find a place like this? Well..." Turning around the blonde had a smug expression on her face before slightly tapping her monocle. "I wasn't kidding when I told you about how great I am! This thing can detect all kinds of cool stuff. Like strong concentrations of mana! Anyways, we're nearly there." Turning around forward again, Nora was still leading the way.

"I found traces of an ancient civilization, called the Tuatha, around the weirdest places all over the continent. Never something like an actual settlement, mind you, but all sorts of cool things! I can even decipher their language, more or less! And the way they use spells is just amaaaazing... I think. I also found enough evidence to support the theory that they actually settled down in some sort of mega-city, a citadel of sorts, that is supposed to be their utopia!" Nora talked like a waterfall while her bird was somehow able to peacefully sleep.

"Now, I am 99% certain that these supposed-to-be ruins are this place! The guardian in front of the supposed-to-be entrance match with my findings! They belong to the Tuatha unless someone stole their design! And with all these readings I get from the interior maybe... maybe..." Did Nora just start to drool? Shaking her head strongly in denial, however, she returned to reality.

"A-Anyways, no history lessons for free! Yeah. We're nearly there now, too. I'm really not too keen on dying so I let you people take the lead now!"

  4. The day had come. Emerath had heard through the grapevine that there would be a quest involving magitek. Something like this could be what unlocked his research into the study of it. So he simply had to go!

When Emerath arrived, it was clear that the grapevine had interested a good set of additional people. Not that Emerath was surprised, but he was certainly wondering how many others here shared his interests in the research potential someplace like this had to offer.

To anyone that would allow it, Emerath would walk up to them and shake their hand, introduce himself as, “Emerath Katou, engineer and explorer,” before moving to the next. Once he was about done, Nora had called everyone over, explained their goal, and headed into the unexplored. Emerath made it a point to stay as close to her as he could. Less for her protection, and more so that he could be one of the first to see what was going on.

As they entered the cave area, and Nora explained the details of a race he had never heard of, his heart raced, but all he did was patiently listen. It was a great thing to learn of such an ancient race, and that their technology marveled! All it did was fuel his excitement!

He was sad when Nora stopped explaining, but he did suppose that he was on a mission, even if it was driven by his own selfish goals. But he needed to be the first to see everything. So when she said to go first, Emerath did. He stepped out in front and into the unknown with a child’s wonder.

  7. The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon, its beams of light just speaking up showering the world in illumination and causing the sky to dance in a foray of beautiful colors. Fiery oranges, reds and yellows danced across the horizon as if placed there by a master painter. As the gift of illumination fell upon the world below it was shaken from its slumber as the light chased away the darkness of the night before, birds rustled in their nests before taking flight, their chirps hanging upon the air as they flew in search of their first meal of the day, deer rose from their slumber and began the search for the perfect patch of grass to turn into their morning breakfast. With the animals of the world, so to began the day of their human counterparts, rising from their beds and beginning to set about their daily routines, blacksmiths lighting their forges, shopkeepers checking their inventory before opening for the day, farmers setting about the tasks their livestock required such as milking their cows, feeding their pigs.

This new day found a Yladian sorcerer known as Joen Panelis travelling along the roads towards a predetermined location, some time ago Joen had heard rumors of a self proclaimed genius explorer and supreme archaeologist was financing a quest to delve deep into some ancient ruins in an attempt to find something known as magitek. Now one of Joens worst qualities was that he was curious, a little to curious for his own good and it got him into trouble quite often, he hoped this wasn't one of those times but he just had to know what magitek was and if it could help him get closer to his ultimate goal which was becoming the most powerful magic user in all of Terrasphere.

Had it not been for the somewhat large gathering of other people Joen would have assumed that he had been sent to the wrong location, but that would appear to not have been the case. Taking a spot that had him neither apart of the group nor to far away Joen stood there looking around at everyone when suddenly a man came up and attempted to shake his hand as he introduced himself, reaching down Joen grabbed the mans hand and shook his firmly with a expression of pure disinterest upon his face "Joen Panelis, Sorcerer", turning away from the group he focused his attention on the woman who had called upon them all for this quest.

As the woman disappeared into the rocks Joen made sure to follow her closely, not as close as the man who had insisted on introducing himself earlier but still close enough that if anything attempted to attack the quest giving female he would be within range to attack or defend as necessary, he couldn't have his meal ticket dying right out of the gate now could he? Joen listened closely as the woman known as Nora explained about the ancient civilization known as the Tuatha and almost bumped into the eager man from earlier when Nora came to an abrupt stop, grumbling slightly Joen waited to see what was going to happen next.

  10. After a long trek - which had been made longer from several wrong turns - Celestine finally caught sight of a gathering in the distance.

    Finally!

Picking up the pace towards them, the world suddenly tilted around her as something small tripped her foot. When she turned to catch the tricky vine that’d caused her fall, a hideous looking “flower” the shape of a monster’s jaw hissed back at her and snapped at her foot. It might’ve succeeded in ripping a chunk off, but she pulled away fast, leaving it with empty air.

“I am not liking this place,” she thought aloud to herself. “Blood magic is of a nasty kind.”

Picking herself back up, she joined the curious group at the base of the mountain. “Hello, is this the place of discoverings?” Before anyone could answer, she heard a call from up the mountain and turned to find her… ‘employer’ waving her over. “Oh, yes! I am an adventuring people of… err… some esteem,” she called back up.

Whispering a quick incantation, Celestine charged straight at the base of the little mountain and made a massive leap which left a puff of air behind her. It carried her up and forward until…

    Smack...

She face-planted into the mountainside, right near the top. Luckily, it was just high enough for her to gracelessly climb the extra foot. “Oww…” she whined, wiping a little drop of blood from her nose.

Once everyone had gathered, she glanced around, offering a friendly nod to the few people she’d met before, and a friendlier grin at the new people. They were whatever though. Instead, Celestine threw her most blissful grin at the bird. The… ‘parrot.’

“Cuuuuuuuuuute,” she squealed softly, hands to her chin. She continued, murmuring a bunch of blather, “I wonder what he does the eating of? Can I do a finding of a parrot of my own? Did he do a look at me? I am thinking he did a look. I wonder if Nora would let me do him a cuddle. Wha-- where’d he go?”

Her trance was interrupted as the bird vanished with Nora behind the rock. Crap, was she talking the whole time? Hopefully, it wasn’t anything important. Celly followed just behind. It was a cave or something. Meh, whatever.

“EEEeeee, now he is doing a sleep,” Celestine thought to herself - silently this time. “Now is the chance of mine. If I can just do a sneak of reeeaaaal quietness, then I can...” she gently reached her hand out towards the snoozing bird, but recoiled like a bullet when Nora turned to tap on her monocle, instantly returning to an abnormally casual walk.

“T-that is of great impressiveness,” Celly complimented Nora with a suspicious grin, barely remembering what topic she was on. She tried a few more attempts to pet the bird, but each time her hand got close, Nora would shake her head, or E.P. would stir… something to make her recoil again and again.

“Oh, yes! The leading. Um...” Celestine paused for a moment, “First of the things: I am Celestine. I am thinking I should be doing a protection from the back. Ya know… for when someone does an attack from the behind.” Anyone who’d been watching Celly for the past few minutes could easily guess the real reason why she wanted to stick with Nora.

  13. Luna never had been the type to ignore a request for help whenever she saw one, so picking up on the quest that had taken her on this particular adventure really hadn't been much of a decision to make. After all, it'd sounded like it might be dangerous and Luna thought somebody like Nora might really end up needing the help.

Which all definitely explained why she was on the side of the mountain right now, but didn't go very far in explaining how many other people had responded to the same call as she had, though for what reason was unclear. Maybe some of them just wanted to help that Nora girl, or perhaps some of them had an interest in the ruins that they were going to be visiting. Whatever the reason, she really was just happy that she wasn't going to be going through all of this alone. There was a certain lonely feeling, out here on the side of the mountain, so having more people around at least did a little bit to circumvent that.

After Nora had called down to them, it didn't take long for them to make their way further up the mountain slopes to make it to a strange narrow passage, which they were lead down until they arrived at the entrance of a cave. It was all rather spooky, if you asked Luna, though at the same time there was something interesting about all of it. Though, she did find herself slightly concerned about Nora's mental state. Drooling about something like this was definitely....odd, wasn't it?

But hey, bonus, she could spot a couple of familiar faces, waving to them kindly with a small smile. Of course, seeing Celestine trying to pet the bird was interesting, that was for sure. Luna couldn't help but let out a small giggle, though ultimately didn't actually end up approaching anybody. She was far too shy to actually be the first to greet anybody, after all.

  16. As Ashnor made his way across the blood magic infested land, he tried his best to avoid any dangers he could. This was the first quest of really any magnitude that he had joined, and he really didn't want to be arriving with carnivorous plants attached to his body or with any chunks taken out of him. The mountain that the adventurer Nora had told him to meet her and the rest of the group at was indeed quite impressive and - due to this being pretty much a wasteland - could be seen for miles.

Only a few hundred feet remained for him to navigate towards the group at the bottom of the hill. Upon reaching the group, however, Ashnor only had a small amount of time to shake people's hands, and inform them of his name before someone called down upon them from above. Turning to face where the voice had come from, he could see that their employer, Nora, had appeared a ways up the mountain.

Following the rest of the group, Ashnor headed up the hill to where Nora stood at the mouth of the cave. As he headed down the passage, Ashnor listened to the history lesson she gave, about this lost race know as the Tuatha and their large citadel of a city. He also noticed a familiar face - Luna he believed it was - waving at him as the group walked. Now glad that he actually knew someone in this group, Ashnor smiles and waves back at her.

Coming around to ahead of Nora as she told them to take the lead, Ashnor decided to be somewhere between the front of the group and the middle, wanting to be able to defend the people behind him, but not have to get in the way of the main attackers.

  19. Step by arduous step, the adventure began. Not within the stone walls of some tomb that had been left to rot, the promise of some long-abandoned article to claim as treasure, but long before. Alkaid understood this now: the truth behind all those corny quotes about the journey and the destination. Just how much the land stretched beneath one's feet. She had traveled from the thick woodlands of Astorea, through a desolate wasteland to a vibrant oasis that, for a time, she'd simply considered staying in, the small settlement a paradise amidst lands that gave little in the way of scenery, only chaffed feet and a dry throat.

And yet that wasteland itself was blessed in comparison to the awful, accursed place she'd come to.

From one side of a mountain to another, the land had transformed from almost devoid of life to one bearing a twisted representation of it. A blighted land where she'd seen a boar that had mutated to have eight eyes and massive, bony spikes that had grown on its sides. One where the plants could quite literally feed upon the dead with multiple variations of fanged and undoubtedly toxic maws, a fact that wasn't even the worst the land had to offer in comparison to the sight and sound of hawk-sized wasps buzzing around in the distance.

Only in Hell itself could a wasp of all things grow to such a size. Alkaid caught a glimpse at one of their nests, and damn near called off her quest then and there.

She could only be thankful that they seemed less common as she drew closer to the meeting spot, even more so still at the sight of other faces, regardless of whether any of them she recognized. As introductions went by, she returned a firm handshake with another in turn along with her name. Although, for the moment, the tanned woman remained oddly quiet, seeming content to observe those around her as their expedition leader came forward, their quest officially set in motion.

Sorry for the lack of quality / interaction, have to rush this post as I'll be gone for the evening.

A quiet girl once again accompanied a group of adventurous role players into a quest that may or may not be more dangerous than it is worth. A queit gilr that in a;; honestly was at a loss for why she played this stupid thing at all. The group was happy to just join up and offer each other companionship for whatever was ahead. The NPC that had dragged them out here Nora the Explorer, was as goofy as a anime character could be.

    Sigh...

Yet, Chelsea was only here for one reason and one reason alone. To find out more about technology that this game's creators had thought up for it's mythos. Yes this sounded silly on paper, but Chelsea knew that amazing inventions and ideas were brought to life in the real world or at least sought after, due to them first appearing in science old fiction novels. So here she was in her dark jacket and scarf. Amethyst eyes maintaining a cold stare if only to keep these people from getting to close to her. This was for personal research, not friendly get togethers. Not to mention that she already learned a harsh lesson about relying on another. This game worked just like real life. It was all on her shoulders. No one could be expected to help or to have the ability to do so even if they wanted too.

    "....."

She stiffened some as a man named @Emerath Katou approached her and offered a handshake. He was a engineer? Then he would be either someone she could rely on or a hindrance trying to stick his own curious nose in her investigations. No handshakes came from her. Lady N was supposed to be cool and mysterious anyway... so it helped.

"...Lady N. I'm here to see the Magitek. Just stay out of my way please. I'm a tech expert as well. I am.... most definitely better than you are just from the looks of you. Hmph!"

Good good! The over the top pompousness should make sure he doesn't get in her way chatting and such. Now she can focus on the technology and take notes for her own blueprints.

  25. Magitek didn’t necessarily interest Emil. However, it was the possibility of being one of the few to find something new, to make a discovery, that had him answering the call of an escort. Mind you, he didn’t realize that there would be so many others who – for whatever reasons of their own – also answered the call. He surveyed them all with a quiet confidence, a smile here and there, but he said nothing. It wasn’t in him to make friends, learn and remember names, etc. He needed to know Nora’s name and that’s it. Her parrot…bird…thing was summarily also forgotten.

At @Emerath ‘s introduction, Emil returned his handshake and offered a polite smile, his one good eye quickly looking him up and down. Emil Trevelyan, he responded in kind. He said nothing of his abilities nor his interest or expectation of what was going to happen with this adventuring party. He only hoped that things went smoothly, and he got out alive. However, if the war was any indication, he would be looking out for himself. He couldn’t rely on anyone here.

Sighing and shaking his head, he followed along with the over-talkative woman and was sure to keep a keen eye out for anything that looked interesting.

As the group continued their way inside the cave, that was thankfully illuminated by another one of Nora's gadgets, they could soon see the first signs of another light source. It started as a faint glow that came from something glowy and big up-front, too far to make out any details. "We're soon there!" She said happily, her parrot still sleeping and unaware of the weird-speaking girl. Just how long was this tunnel going anyways?! It didn't seem natural at all.

Getting closer and closer, leaving the small tunnel behind them into a large cave area, they could make out what appeared to be a colossal, metallic, wall on the opposite side of them. With various neon-colored and glowing veins sprawling over the metal, there was no need for other light sources anymore. Once they realized that the cave-stone and metal clashed with each other in an unnatural way, it became all too clear just how far this wall extended beyond their vision.

"There!" Nora pointed forward, near ground-level, towards what appeared to be a sort of gap inside the wall. "That should be the entrance but..." The blonde didn't have to say it. The golem and sphere-like beings in front of the gap were all too obvious. "Right now, we're far enough away for them to be kinda dormant. But get closer and..." Nora fell silent again. At least it meant they have the initiative, right?

"So, this is exactly why I need you adventuring adventure people! You can bust this stuff and everything, right? So go and do what you're good at!" Nora simply crossed her arms and leaned beside a rock-wall. "Ah! Just one more thing. You can't see it from here but the Golem, or Colossus, has some sort of coil-tube-thing on its back!" A battery. "I'm 99% sure that's where it draws its mana from! So if you could get rid of the thing while keeping the Golem intact I'd REALLY appreciate it! But... but only if possible! I wouldn't want anyone of you getting hurt, too much, trying to fulfill my special request!" With that now said, all they had to do was get rid of this junk.

  30. Emerath marveled at the wall in front of them. It was something straight out of a sci-fi movie. And here he was, staring at it in a game that was about as close to real as it got! But then Nora had to go and sour the mood by pointing out the guards. But that was okay. What were three guards to a team of 8? But just to be sure...

Emerath pulled one of his empty balloons, and some of his chemicals out for his tinkering. As he mixed a few together, he called out to everyone with a, “Hold still! You’re going to get a bit of a strength and adrenaline boost!” He mixed the concoction into an steroid type chemical that should boost everyone’s damage when absorbed through the skin. Pouring it into the balloon, he threw it up, and then zapped it with a shot of lightning to make it pop. Thankfully his balloons were made of animal innards and not rubber, or else that trick wouldn’t have worked, as the pop sprayed the chemical over all present, himself included.

He felt it take hold, and his heart beat faster, as he smiled. “I’ve got the golem! See you guys down there!” he shouted before charging off. The robots took notice, and activated immediately. But Emerath was on the golem. It gave a mechanical whirr as the gears inside of it turned, and Emerath just kept running. Target was the hose on back. He’d take this out in no time!

The golem swung, and he only just managed to roll to the side out of the way. But now the golem had left itself open, as Emerath grabbed onto the side of the creature and hoisted himself onto its back. The hose was perfectly exposed. A terrible weakness. But the perfect opportunity for the engineer. “I think I’ll take your core for myself, good buddy,” he told the golem, as it tried to shake him off. Emerath cackled a bit too wildly as he shoved his gloved fist directly into where the hose lead. He wouldn’t settle for breaking the hose. He wanted the heart. Sure enough he felt a powerful and warm energy radiating through his glove, and he grasped it firmly and pulled it out.

For a few moments, the golem continued to try to shake the man, but it did no good. It powered down, and Emerath slid from the creature before pocketing the core. He laughed as he called out to the others to join in on the fun. This adventure would be fun!

  33. It seemed like an eternity that Joen, so long so that he began to wonder if this caves tunnel led all the way to the center of the earth itself. Turning his head he took in the sight of the very impressive wall, it truly was a thing to behold but only for a couple of seconds before Nora turned his attention away from the marvel and towards the mechanical looking creations that were serving as guards. As Nora gave a small explanation about the guards he wondered what kind of civilization that Tuatha must have been to have created these mechanical constructs that had long outlived their creators.

Joen was about to step forward towards the guardian constructs when he was stopped by the words of the man known as Emerath, remaining in the spot he stood in he watched as the man began to concoct some kind of concoction from chemicals before setting them a flight. Once the chemicals reached his skin the feeling that they brought caused Joens eyes to widened slightly as he could feel the adrenaline begin to pump through his veins. Closing his eyes he took a deep breathe in before opening his eyes once more and watched as the engineer rushed forward and put on an impressive display by single handedly taking down the large golem like sentinel.

One of the mechanical constructs took to the air causing Joen to focus his attention upon it as he slowly began to walk forward along the same path the male had taken earlier. As he walked Joen focused all of his attention upon the flying guardian "Akula miopiar tagolann norn du!" the words of a strange and mystical language flew from his lips serving as the invocation needed for one of his Pyromancy spells. One the invocation had been completed a large fireball roared to life within the palm of Joens right hand, pulling it back he mimicked the action of throwing a ball and the fireball soared through the air, its path way finding its target and colliding squarely upon the center of the construct. The fireball hadn't been as effective as he had hoped it would be but it still did some damage never the less.

  36. The Magus looked up at the balloon that Emerath sent skyward and merely lifted an eyebrow when he saw the bolt of lightning streak forward and hit it. The explosion made him smirk, the mist that rained down on them all made him chuckle. He felt…good. Truth be told, he didn’t know much about the other masteries in the game. They didn’t interest him and therefore, he ignored them. However, seeing that bit of interesting technology made him look at the red-haired male through a different lens.

Perhaps the other masteries weren’t so useless after all.

He took a step forward while clearing his throat, his manners impeccable as he maneuvered past shoulders, legs and hips. Seeing the battlefield before him, he did an intricate twist of his fingers before holding his hands out flat, palms skyward. An overflow of ashen white smoke billowed from his palms before he gently blew, causing the smoke to dissipate and his grimoire to rest in his hands instead.

The leather-bound book with glowing red arcane marks opened by its own accord. Emil paid the book no attention; instead, he watched as another spellcaster stepped forth and conjured up a fireball in his hand before lobbing it forward at one of the hovering constructs.

Humph, was the only sound that came from him as his good golden eye ran quickly over the arcane language. Lifting his sight to the construct that the other mage had attacked, he snapped the fingers of his free hand and watched as a gout of flame engulfed the creature.

Try adding a bit of flair, hm? he said with a dry chuckle in @Joen Panelis ‘s direction.

  39. Moving deeper into rabbit hole shouldn't have soothed her any, but strangely enough it had. The return to something familiar, in a sense, even though the subject of magitech itself was uncommon compared to the rest of the game's setting. Although perhaps it was simply just that the barely illuminated cavern was, for the moment, far more preferable to the twisted wildlife outside.

Either way, Alkaid flashed a confident smile as she drew out her deck, with a wave of her hand revolving the deck around her so that she could make her first draws.

Queen of Swords. Six of Wands. No Cups.

A couple of attack-oriented cards, then, unless she were to continue. Not that there was any need, she realized, as she registered the red-haired engineer's shout. She watched the chemicals fly and the ensuing whirl of motion with something between astonishment and amazement as he leapt for the Guardian's core as if a hero from a Celtic tale himself.

Well, his hair color in consideration he'd be considered something more than human in one, but that in itself was fitting for the time being.

Quickly scanning the battlefield, she put some distance between herself and the two other casters who were already getting in work, just enough distance so that others could easily get through. She noted that the man who had introduced himself as Ashnor seemed to be on the move to finish their target off, so she turned on the last drone and threw her two cards into the air.

"Heads up! I'm sending this one down for a bit!"

On cue, the air near the drone whizzed and churned. Pressure rose as the air compressed itself, forming layer after layer, until a barely visible orb of air floated above the drone, in part pulling it in close so that it could not float away.

The air then bursted into a gale that crushed the machine into the floor, taking to it like a hammer to a nail. From a distance Alkaid could still see a spark fly out from the drone, but it began to slowly hover back into the air moments later.
