"The first wave goes to us- everyone still standing, steel yourselves and bite back. For every drop of blood they rob from you, steal from them a life. Make them pay."

The nearest rider gave a cry of surprise as an arrow lodged in its form, and it sputtered as it regretted attacking the Felis immediately.

Its lamentations would be short. "Keep that covering fire coming," he called back to Maximilian, "nice shot."

Between the two women on the left side, the sole surviving orc would soon join its ally in the afterlife- or wherever the hell data went to be recycled in Terrasphere.

Even as the hulking leader of the warband charged headlong toward him, Kijin kept his composure. Larger enemies had throttled him beneath stone and ground him into dirt, and he had survived. Some Orcish warrior would be as a child in comparison to a Greater Earth Elemental.

His crimson gaze flashed to @Kyupin Felnya next to him, who played no small part in defending the leftmost side of the Caravan. "I'll charge the big one," he intoned gravely. "Once I've got it's attention, go ahead and cut loose."

@Aalam Abungu , @Claire Thalassa , and @Cain Darlite were entangled with their own set of problems but with one of the two orcs bloodied and three men strong, the Eastern front would be predictably clear soon.

That left only the cadre of opponents to the North, which had been Kijin's plan all along. At this point, they would be able to push forward and descend on both flanks.

As for the girl, @Nalla , Kijin did not have time to call back to her and give further orders, but he trusted in her judgment- he could not see her from his current position.

Kijin pressed forward diagonally and to the right, hoping to force the Orc off balance as he brought his blade to bear. At his speed and angle, the attack could easily be considered one of his more dangerous, albeit reckless-

But in terms of damage, it would suffice.

Witnessing the orc attack Kyupin, Nalla grit her teeth, growling. Immediately, her response was to shout some obscenity towards the brute of a humanoid, but the brushing of something beside her leg caught her off guard. Glancing downwards, she noticed the shadow of a black cat looking back up at her, a familiar blue cape on it's back. While this cute animal had brushed it's head against the pyromancer's leg, it did not linger, nor did it rear it's eyes upwards. Instead, it stood steadfast, staring towards the conflict just ahead, and at Kyupin.

"Go on, Ele." She reassured the animal, understanding its intent, as it raced forward. "I'll see what I can do." Closing her hands in front of her stomach for a moment, she opened them to reveal another explosive sphere, this one redder than the last. Throwing it hard, she kept her eyes upon it, as though she were guiding it through the air. Her hurl had been a bit to the left, but with concentration, she had managed to veer it onto the correct route, a trail of smoke following it on its journey.

Just as she ducked, the explosive descended into it's target. Instead of exploding, this one stuck to it's intended target. With strings of fire, it seemed to mummify its target in fire. Screaming, the hostile was soon burnt up, the envelope of fire consuming its form. What was left behind was nothing but a smoking husk. "Whoa, it worked!?" Nalla cheered, not noticing the sweat dripping down her forehead. "Awesome!!" The smile on her face could not be disguised. This was turning out fantastic!

"Miaou!" The spirit cat screeched towards @Kyupin Felnya, as it neared, a purplish hue radiating from it's shape. Perhaps, if the Felis recalled, it would be a glow similar to the one an arcanamancer of the past once harnessed. In its eyes, the hint of a protective comrade lingered, staring cautiously towards the familiar Felis.

It was almost critical for Kyupin, the bloody arc of the halberd swing, but even though Cain cringed at the heavy blow dealt in a moment of vulnerability, the overall situation of the battlefield was improving. With support from the General of the Flanst family, the Orcish forces were quickly mowed down. No wonder he never saw them all that often. These monsters were weak as fuck! Stifling another laugh, the midnight haired muse was about to fire off another song, when a pillar of flame burst out in the distance, a strange individual appearing.

Red, she was so red, a Felis dressed in scarlet silks and wreathed in flame, twintails billowing in the updraft. Friend? Enemy? Even at this distance, Cain was certain that she was not a player, and suddenly, that one unknown factor drove everything else apart completely.

He narrowed his eyes, his focus, expression becoming unnaturally grim when contrasted with his fearless, jovial self. That burning noose tightened around his throat again, stifling his magic as a dozen different futures played themselves in Cain’s mind. Risk and reward. Caution and aggression. Friend and foe. The muse licked his lips, watched as their vanguard engaged the Orcish warrior, and...

    …broke the noose.

“Our foes are weak!” he declared, voice rising above the din of the battlefield, “And our might is nothing short of heroic! @Aalam Abungu , it shall be your arrow that seals the Warrior’s fate! @Kyupin Felnya , Lady @Claire Thalassa , finish off the solitary fool that dares assault our rightward flank! As for I…”

Amethyst light burst out of his fingertips, duo bolts of arcane power piercing through the skull of the Orc and Wolf bearing down on the grizzled archer.

    “…negotiations shall begin.”

A pause was taken, reprieve for his voice as his stomach churned in apprehension. Perhaps this would just sound like a challenge. Perhaps this would paint a large target on his back moving forward. But perhaps, just perhaps...it was worth the risk. His other options were unhelpful, but safe, the lukewarm responses that his afflictions would steer him towards. This though, this was dangerous, mayhaps even suicidal in the long run.

Ah, but even though he had Second Thoughts, he still loved to win.

“Revered Elders of the Orcish tribe,” the muse called out, dark eyes locking onto the two wizened monsters in the distance, “The swift loss of your warriors and beasts should serve as ample proof that the might of Astorea has not waned. If you know of the dangers of wild magic, and if you have lived for as long as you have, then leave and tell your people this.”

A step forward, one that sounded like a giant’s footstep, one that shook the leaves.

“If your kind attacks any other caravan in this route, we will consider this an act of war and wholly eradicate you. Our might is enough to extinguish the Light of Falderen, enough to sunder the Prince of Fire. Do not test us.”

Being right was never fun especially if that met he needed to get hit by a halberd, he had been so close to killing the beast in one shot. Well, that was why he still wasn’t the best shot in the kingdom yet, he still needed practice. However just as the halberd cut into his side making him take a step back, his blood spilling out from the wound and stain a patch of the snow. Well, that was a shame the snow had looked quite lovely up until that point. Before he even had a chance to put a second arrow into the orc, it seemed that Cain has stepped up to the plate. He was slightly amazed, thrice Aalam had been in a situation like this was the man and thrice he had seemed the man be more than just a heal bot. They might disagree on what was more important, but the man had earned his respect by now.

As for right now he had a warrior to finish off, but it wasn’t going to be a straight shot, pulling one of his large arrows from his quiver and aiming it almost to the opposite direction of the warrior. Taking a second to judge the strength of the wind before letting go, it was a shot that he was proud of. The arrow curved along the path of the wind coming back at double the speed that he had shot it at punching through the warriors head. Well, he was dead; however, there was now a new person on the field that seemed to be on their side, for some strange reason. Well, he was right about that trap before, he might be right about a new one. Looking left at Kijin nodding his head at the girl, the man would know what he meant people who co-commander a legion tend to be able to read each other. “Like back in the Valley Kijin; we make the kill box.”

Aalam ran towards the tree line, letting out an earsplitting whistle as he called down King, a black mark torn down from the sky to join in the bush.

Now this was what she was waiting for. As the orc and its mount moved up within range, Claire let her glowing hand drop. Magic was useful, and flexible, but it was nothing compared to the simple joy of just whacking something really hard with a really big stick.

Her hands found the leather grip of her quarterstaff and she readied a good swing. The orc was getting dangerously close to the supplies and she didn't want that. Well, time to introduce it to what would happen now that it ignored her implied warning.

She slammed her staff into the orc, sending it tumbling off the wolf. Something snapped as she did it, and as her weapon showed no signs of splintering, then it must have been some bone or joint in the orc's body. It crashed into the ground, and did not move again. Now riderless and directionless, the wolf was easy enough to ward off.

Moving on up and around the side to keep guard for any other attacks from their flanks, Claire watched as a pillar of flame appeared far at the back, near the direction their caravan was supposed to head towards. She narrowed her eyes. Looks like they had something else to deal with now.

She gasped as blade met chest, sinking into her flesh and drawing blood where it ran. In the orcs eyes was an unfathomable hatred. Why? What had they done to garner such ire? Kyupin wanted to recoil, wanted to hide away from such evil darkness. But another part of her, the stronger, more vicious part of her… it snarled right on back. She'd give him something to hate. Give him something to fear—

As she retreated, a slender cat slinked between her legs, drawing her attention. She looked down in confusion. "Eleanor?" she asked softly. The hair on her neck rose, heat warming her back in a late warning to duck. She dropped to the ground, flattening herself over the spiritual cat without hesitation to protect it from the searing heat. The orc in front of her wasn't as lucky. He took the fireball straight to the mouth.

She rolled off the cat and slowly rose to her feet, watching the battle and deciding the best options.

    img
    Vulcan ( 75 / 75 HP - Zone D4 )
Vulcan leapt back to his master, instantly coiling around the peculiar cat-summon meowing at her feet. What? He sniffed it, circling it once or twice before prancing to Kyupin's other side to make a defensive sandwich. Although unfamiliar in appearance, the cat had a recognizable aura. An old teammate, of sorts. And since it was protecting his tamer, Vulcan supposed he'd let it do its job while he did his – baring fangs and snarling at any that dared to try and hurt his girl.

    Protect Kyupin
    --

Kyupin watched with high brows as the team steadily decimated their opponents. At this rate, the caravan would reach Astorea with only the regular tear-and-wear of riding on dirt paths. Cain's threatening speech only brought a small smile to her lips as she focused her gaze on the last-standing foes. Two orcs, possibly shamans, and a… Caenis girl?

She straightened up and narrowed her eyes.

"I don't want to fight, but you force our hands. Please, leave," she called out. Perhaps they'd take heed to her words? … probably not, but they deserved the benefit of doubt.

She stayed still and watched, ready to shoot them down if they dared to ignore her friendly peace offering. But for now, for now, they could try their hands at civility.

"....Poo. You werre supposed to do better than that you ugly crrrretins. None of YOU deserrve the powerrr of Satarrrr... that's for surrre!"

The scantly clad caenis made a pouting look as the two Orc Shaman (and possibly herself) were being threatened by Cain and Kyupin to give up or else in so many words. The pout vanished and the fiery haired girl hugged herself as if freezing.

"Brrrrrrrrr... It surrrre is a cold day isn't it? It's no wonder you uglies can't get anything done! You humans agrree rright? I have just the rrremedy for that!" Dont worrrrry about a thing!"

She shot out her arms and spread her legs apart as the tips of the appendages suddenly caught fire. The flames twirled up her body engulfing her until all that remained was the fiery image of a caenis . Black eyes and a fanged mouth grinned within the dancing humanoid shaped fire as the two flaming arms began to flap up and down like a bird. Rings of flame expanded from her literally blazing hot body as the area she was in became completely consumed.

The Orcs nearby were caught in the tides of magical fire and their blood curdling howls of agony were only drowned by the roaring flame. Within seconds they were dust. Then the flaming form of the girl returned to flesh as she spoke.

"Oops... did I make it too hot for you guys? I don't think that Caravan can get through... This firre isn't going to be put out anytime soon... and what do you know? Yes, I do believe it's sprreading like wild firre❤? Better hurrrrrry and figurrre out what do."

She blew a kiss and gave a wave goodbye before turning and walking right through her mystically ever expanding fire. Vanishing into the smoke and blaze.

It's spreading fast and blocking the route... if I'm right it will extinguish eventually but we will be at the mercy of the enemy and the provisions will spoil before we reach Vintergard. That cannot happen! My friends, we will need to head on another route. According to scouts we sent a few days earlier. Somewhere near here is a cavern that we believe exits near your capital. The other option is a river we could try to force the caravans across. Both have their pros and cons... but we are running out of time! These flames are going to block all our options if we do not hurry!

    What say you?"

Kyupin stared in shock as the Caenis woman erupted into flames, obliterating the orcs on either side of her. How could—hadn't they been allies—why? Confusion and disgust swelled inside of her as she tried to figure out the reasoning behind that act of violence. They'd been on the same side, the woman and the orcs, hadn't they? To turn so rapidly on them, to burn them alive, that had been… unnecessarily cruel.

She shuddered and ripped her eyes away from the growing flames, swallowing down the bile rising in her throat. She could smell them, and she knew that Vulcan was suffering from the stench too. His whines tore a hole in her heart, engraving this moment into an everlasting memory.

Stop it. She inhaled deeply. They were your enemies. They were evil. This is what they deserved. She chewed on her bottom lip and dug claw-nails into her palms, forcing herself to snap back to attention. There was no time for pity or second-guessing. They had to make a decision! After some back and forth conversation, Kyupin looked up to Maximilian, squaring her shoulders. "It sounds like we've decided," she said, trying to muster a brave face, "to cross the river."

She looked over to @Kijin Shihaku as if to confirm her statement.

"Let's hurry now, before any other unexpected things happen!"

She pointed to @Nalla and smiled weakly. Her mind was rushing, frantic to come to a solution. "Can you burn us a path through the shrubbery? I think... I think if we cut through here," she motioned to the woods and underbrush that Aalam and his bird were at, "we'll be able to get to the water."

They could do this, she decided as she edged her way around Kijin's trap, towards the water she could see nearby.

The others seemed to come to a full concensus in only seconds. That suited Kijin just fine. An argument would only serve as futile, all the while shaving away precious seconds that they could be hurrying to safety.

As the two flanking groups reattached to the Caravan and helped to prepare for fording the river, the swordsman took a hold of @Aalam Abungu by the shoulder. "Just like before," he said. "Let's be sure they're not two steps ahead of us."

The other man nodded and approved, and both of them waded into the river up to their mid-torso. Periodically they glanced back to ensure that the group did not fall victim to the malevolent wildfire.

Soon, they would see whether their decision was the right one...

Or was it that there were no "right" decisions from the beginning?

Dark eyes caught the flash of disgust, the pain that had appeared over Kyupin’s face, as if she couldn’t understand why the Red Stained Felis would do such a thing, but Cain could. Perhaps they were allies. Perhaps they were just colleagues. But regardless, that flame mage understood the consequences behind actions, the weight of words.

If the Shamans had lived, had gone back to their tribes to regal them with tales of the might of adventurers, the Orcs would have receded and that flame mage would have lost an ally in whatever she planned. With this though…it was much too easy to craft a tale of how adventurers, cruel and honorless, forced a surrender through underhanded methods and then slaughtered them even after the fact. That could rile the muscled monsters up real well, couldn’t it? The next attack may be an even bigger one at this rate.

And that term. ‘The power of Satar.’

Another point of interest worth exploring, but at a later time. For now, however, a wildfire was bearing down on them, and the party had almost unanimously decided on fording the river. Looking at his fine clothes, and then back at the frothing river ahead, Cain let out a small sigh. If he had known they were going to swimming, he would have at least brought himself some swimming shorts. As it was…

“It’s how it is, I guess,” he smiled, furling up his banner and strapping the flagpole to his back. “Water looks pretty frosty though. Don’t suppose you could apply some of your flames to the creation of a Jacuzzi, @Nalla ?”

It wouldn't change the fact that they were going to get wet...but at least it'd be warm.

    ...

Yeah, may as well go all in while he was at it. Without much thought put into it, Cain stripped off his coat and inner shirt as well, before striding into the water half-naked. It was certainly cold, but his undrenched clothes will be the reward he needed after this particular ordeal.

Well it seemed that he was right this was going to be a long day, it was still hadn’t hit noon yet, and so far they had to deal with a raid by some orc and no a Caenis. A caenis that seemed to have the ability to summon and manipulate fire, if they way she roast the orcs was any indication. She was efficient however the raiders were dead, but now the path was blocked by a wall of flame. He didn’t care about the burning smell; there were things that had to be done. However, something might smell the flesh on the wind and come looking for a free meal.

Focusing on the task at hand, he did spare a moment to check on king however, the bird was doing his job. He was circling above head keeping a watch out just in case. The bird had his orders, any sign of danger he would come to Aalsm side.

Placing his arrow back in his quiver but kept the bow out. Pulling his eyes away from the flames, and looked at the river. Throwing up his hood Kijin did have it right they would do this just like they did before. Hopefully with our massive death count this time. Making his way into the water, slowly he wasn’t too sure what was under the water and seeing as he didn’t have a sword it would be bad to wake something.

He did notice that Cain came in the water after them, that man was going to get himself killed. At least it wasn’t going to be on his mind if he did. Well at least the others hate the sense to stay with the caravan, after all, it was their job to get it to its next location. If they were to lose the goods then everything up to that point would have be for naught.

Two great Raid Leaders stood waiting for their foes. One was a mighty eight foot tall Orc Warrior with a large shield made of steel and bone. His curved blade stuck in the ground with his muscular hand resting upon the hilt. His face's expression was unlikely to be understood by the humans. However it was one of pride and also desire to test himself against those that had proven so strong. His only concern was his sister. She was far too reckless, even more so than his the rest of his brethren. Whether or not the caenis was a liar or had tricked them into being pawns was no longer important.

This was personal for him. This was his battle.

The fur covered Orc woman stood on her own as two Riders came along side her. A snarl of hatred coming from her mouth. Seeing the humans and their caravan of goods approach. She stood up straighter and thrust a long black staff into the air and began to spin it slowly over her head. Hideous laughter rose from her throat and carried on the wind to the humans. The end of her staff held the decaying blackened skull of a ancient Orc Witch Doctor emitting a deep purple flame from it's hollowed eyes.. They would learn... the power she wielded. She did not need this Satar.

Every single head will adorn her trophy wall!

The Caravan made a full stop at the river as had been decided by the party. Before them now was a ice cold stream that ran along a vast distance of Astorea. It was a river that connected to the great dividing river of Adecus forest. A name not used much anymore now that this area was claimed by Astor Balthas.

Regardless... today this water will become red with the blood of man and orc alike. There was little way to understand the full extent of what the two obvious commanders were saying, unless one was well versed with their language. However, one thing was clear. They were ready to fight to the death if need be for their fallen and their tribes glory.

The chill breeze kicked up... the showdown was about to begin.

NPC Advise: The Leader of the party may on each cycle make a recommendation for which direction the Caravan should go and whether it should move two or one panel. This advice is not always followed, and bad advice can be fatal. Use this well.

Zones There are a total of 9 Zones broken up on the map. They are distinguishable by the darker black lines separating them. When taking actions that mention Zones, remember that the entire set of panels in the Zone is accounted for.

Energy Expenditure: All masteries cost energy to use. Whether a simple sword swing or a powerful lightning bolt. Check the Energy Guide below and use the proper energy costs for every use of your mastery. Dropping to 1 EN will cause your character to become exhausted/mind downed. This will render them unable to move, take any actions, and vulnerable to damage (x3 will be dealt).Your EN will recover by 2 if you survive that turn.

Terrain, Range and Movement: Check the Range Guide below. All masteries have a set range of attack/support. You may move one panel per turn or two panels per turn for 1 EN. Mobility mastery of Adept allows two panel movement without losing a action (still consumes 1 EN). Attacking either on it's own or after a normal move costs the amount given in the Energy Guide. You may not attack while using the two panel move option (unless Mobility is Adept). You may not enter or pass through a panel with a enemy already present. You may not enter a panel occupied by a ally (you may pass through however). Diagonal movement is allowed.

Resting: On any one of your turns. You may decide to simply do nothing and rest yourself. This will recover 5 EN. There are no penalties for this lack of action other than the loss of your turn to contribute.

    Terrain Key;
    DARK BROWN PANEL=Dirt Road
The easiest path of travel for the Caravan and less adventurous adventurers.. Offers no special effects.

    WHITE PANEL=Snowy Ground
A 2 inch thick layer of snow has recently settled onto the woodland. Hydromancy users gain a +5 to their rolls after mods if standing on one of these panels.

    GREEN PANEL=Trees
Dense woodland that cannot be entered by the Wagons. A single panel can be burned away using Pyromancy, thus creating a DARK BROWN panel. A Nature Magic user gains a +5 Bonus to their rolls after mods if standing on one of these panels. It takes the two panel move option to enter one of these tiles. Ranged attacks receive a -10 penalty when attacking through these.

    DULL GREEN PANEL=Brush/Heavy Foliage
Thickets, bushes and other difficult to traverse plant life. Even in winter there remains a fair amount to get in the way of hasty travels. You may enter these with normal movement, however you may not use two panel move to cross over one of these panels. A single panel can be burned away using Pyromancy, thus creating a DARK BROWN panel . A Nature Magic user gains a +5 Bonus to their rolls after mods if standing on one of these panels.

DARK BLUE PANEL=Waste Deep River Water (Freezing Cold)
Extremely cold and makes both travel and combat difficult. You may not use two panel move while going over, to, or from these panels. Mobility or Acrobat of Expert will ignore these penalties. Every action also costs 1 additional EN than normal when taken on these. Hydromancy can be used to split or shift water apart, creating easier crossing. This requires a special action that must be maintained.

    LIGHT BLUE PANEL=Frozen Shallow Water
Thin ice that can be tread upon. Howverer, those with Heavy Armor cannot cross or it becomes a DARK BLUE PANEL after their movement (cancels any action planed, including second panel moves). Hydromancy can be used to split or shift water apart, creating easier crossing. This requires a special action that must be maintained.

    Actions
Everyone is allowed to perform one of these actions per cycle. RP-wise, you can do a number of things, but the system only counts the action you pick from the spreadsheets. When selecting special actions available to your specific masteries such as Disruption, use the sheet that has Interrupt (Tank) for the results. Another example is using Protect when using a Defensive Buff to find the results (again in the Tank sheet!).
    • Tank - Protect allies, disrupt enemies, and mitigate zonal damage.
    • DPS - Damage, damage, and more damage.
    • Support - Heal, buff, and dispel conditions from allies.

The guttural words of the orcs meant nothing to her. What was important was the fact that they were all standing at the other side of the river, ready to stop them from moving any further. So, they obviously had to be eliminated.

The areas of deeper water in the river were a problem, though. They wouldn't be able to reach the orcs easily, and the caravan could not pass. The ideas from Nalla and Cain were solid, but she'd likely need both hands free for this.

Moving slightly away from the others, Claire stowed her quarterstaff away and studied the river carefully. She'd have to get this area right the first time around, because readjusting it would no longer be an option. Muttering the spell under her breath, she lifted both hands out to force the waters to part, opening it up for people to walk through.

Move to G2, then Water Shift the central zone

Well at least he was going to have a clear shot at his target, it seemed that they were trying to hit the craven from both sides it was a good plan if nothing else. The melee fighters in the party were stopped by the water from making any real attack. With ranged fighters on both side behind a line of tanker opponents, Aalam was impressed it seemed that there was a bit of planning in their actions. They would have to take them down from on top of the unstable footing. If anyone with heavy amour were to move too much around on the ice, they would fall straight through. This was starting to feel like a real mission he was wounded, and they were fighting orcs on top of ice.

Looking down the line of enemies on both side and noticing that two that were much different from the rest, for one, was laughing in a way that made him think of madness and the other carried himself differently. Well, he was going to have to put them down as quickly as possible, but for the moment they were out of range of his arrows, and that was a problem. The warrior wasn’t out of range, however. Moving a few steps forward, hearing the ice crack and splinter under his feet but it held, drawing a beat out on the warrior the wind was working against him in this shot, he couldn’t just aim directly at the orc. He would have to angle his shot to have the wind work him. Aiming the arrow higher and more to the left before he let it go. It was a shield breaker; the entire arrow was almost worked from iron. So might not have climbed with much speed but when it came down, it punched through the orc shoulder slamming into the ground and burying itself a few inches into the dirt.

Once he saw that his arrow had hit true, he let out a shrill whistle calling down into to him.

    King ( 65 / 65 HP - Zone F5 )
King heard the whistle way up as he circled in the clouds, it seemed that his master needed his help. That whistle was one of the protection action. So as he came down, he gathers the wind in his feathers so that when reached just above his master head, he brought a cone of air with him.

Who could have foreseen this development? Who could have imagined that they would be assaulted by even more orcish warriors moments after approaching the large, open river! Internally, Cain was laughing, enjoying every moment of this exciting supply escort mission, but externally, his expression was bereft of amusement, a grave, serious expression forming. The noose had snared his throat again, horrible futures unveiling themselves graphically. Death by drowning. Death by decapitation. Death as the female orc pinned his head against a wall.

Death death death enslavement death death death torture death death death humiliation death death death.

He narrowed his mind, shut off his thoughts, and took in everything around them instead. A wintry river, shallow enough to cross by walking, deep enough that it wouldn’t be possible to do much else. Claire, a Hydromancer. And that large, male orc, his own expression prideful and prepared. A warrior spirit indeed.

In one reality, Cain strengthened himself in anticipation. In another, he healed Kyupin, readying her for the incoming bloodshed. In a third, he gloriously advanced, arcane powers ready for the incoming slaughter.

But, out of all the choices he could have taken, the midnight haired muse chose the most hilarious one. Catching Claire’s eye, he exchanged an idea, before moving forward as she parted the current, leaving nothing but the soaked riverbed. Round rocks glistened in the cold sunlight, while the northern winds whispered in his ears. And, by the time Cain took a breath for his declaration, the weight of the world no longer hung around his neck.

“The stage has been set and the battlefield prepared!”

A flourish, a chime, his Ivory Reminiscence resonating with the grandness of his tone as he instilled valor upon all that heard his voice.

“If you wish to take the goods our caravan holds, then be prepared to fight fairly for it, Orcish Warriors! No bullshit, no trickery! Prove your worth upon this stony battlefield and earn the right to take what is not yours!”

A feral, challenging grin emerged, the smile of a wolf hiding behind frivolous clothing.

“WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? BRING IT THE FUCK ON!”
