    Greetings!

Over the next few days, we will be recording our first non-official TS podcast!
This will be an OOC production, as that will allow us to talk about site mechanics and events from a writer's perspective.

Each show will ideally be around 30 minutes. While the outline is not set in stone, here is what we are considering - discussions on both IC events (such as Reclamation and Bandit King) and OOC items (future patches/changes), interviews with writers, a Q and A, advertising LFGs, and spotlighting especially interesting stories in progress. We want to keep you in the loop about site happenings, but also encourage everyone to take note of what their fellow players/writers are up to.

The show will be hosted by myself and @Briarheart (best known as Madison Freebird). Our first guest will be our very own @Asch!

We'd love some input from you all! Please respond to any/all, when you have a moment.

    1. What would you suggest for a name? The original thought was Terrasphere Radio (TSR), but that isn't especially creative!
    2. What would you like to see us add, or avoid?
    3. Would you be willing to be a guest?
    4. Do you have any questions for us to answer in our first podcast? They can be serious and site-related, or more fun (in case you've always wondered what Asch's favorite color is).

    Thanks! :)

    4. what is asch's favorite type of pasta (must include specific pasta shape)! if shibs can dye her hair any color, what length would it be? if briar was a potato, would she rather live in ireland or idaho?

serious questionz: how do you think terrasphere is going to grow? what direction is it heading in? what were you first thinking about when you created the site? how has it differed from your original vision? ALSO DID HR GET HER NAME FROM SINISTER PLACES OR IS IT JUST HER JOB TITLE?! #MYSTERYINC

    1. Terraria, of course.
    2. In the spirit of Valentine's Day, make everyone sing "Never Gonna Give You Up." Or, at least as much as you would hear before clicking away because you realized you just got rickrolled for the 50th time.
    3. Sure! As long as I don't have to 'talk' or anything. So like... if you could get a parrot and have it echo everything I type so no one has to hear me, then I'm up for it. Outside of that: probably not.
    4. Jewel shop when? Also, what's the plan for these mysterious 'shards' I'm seeing? And can we get a special badge for #NoArmorChallenge peoples?

  4. Also, we are always up for theme song suggestions.

Otherwise, I'm gonna start grabbing some chiptunes.

    But chiptunes are awesome!

  6. 1. I am abysmal with names, so I think TSR is actually really nice lol
    2. Cannot think of any additions rip
    3. Yes absolutely.
    4. If you could have a superpower, which would you have and why? And with those superpowers, what would your hero name be? I'm just a sucker for superpowers xD

  7. 1. Terrasphere Radio is a fine name. It doesn’t have to be especially creative as long as the content is good. If you name it something really off the wall, people might get confused anyway.

But if you need a second opinion, Full Dive: A Terrasphere Podcast, is a neat name concept.
    2. Avoid making it too broad. Focus on finer details with each episode, and maybe even have some episodes be less about Terrasphere and more about play by post writing with Terrasphere as examples. This opens up to a wider audience if you’re giving tips to improve writing with Terrasphere as a background, bringing new people to Terrasphere and the podcast both. This also means you don’t run into the issue of: “Terrasphere has had a slow week. Now what do we talk about?” If that ever happens. Which is likely every once in a while.
    3. I would be honored to be a guest sometime.
    4. What is Asch’s biggest life goal with Terrasphere? Is it to see Terrasphere have thousands of players? Have it run for 100+ seasons? Or what?

    1. What would you suggest for a name? The original thought was Terrasphere Radio (TSR), but that isn't especially creative!

    - Terrapodcast
    - Terradio
    - Welcome to Terrasphere
    - Sphere of Terra
    - A Certain Terrable Podcast
    - Absolutely Terrific
    - The Only Fear is Sphere Itself

Of course, the original is also very good!

    2. What would you like to see us add, or avoid?

For the love of god, keep scripted parts to a bare minimum. Podcasts have a good immersion factor to them because you're not listening to actors hosting a show or news anchors telling you pre-written information, so you really feel like you're listening to a casual conversation between mundane people such as yourself. I've seen podcasts where half of the content was being read off of a piece of paper, and damn does it sound unnatural, completely ruining the enjoyment. If you still have parts that are scripted, try to improvise some random comments into it, and make sure the person saying it is also the person who wrote it. It's important to make the listeners feel as though the hosts have a personality and are recognizable through their speech.

Alongside that, just do your best not to be nervous and stay natural. It's easier said than done, yeah, but just keep in mind that nobody will burn you at the stake if you accidentally stutter. Don't be too afraid to go off-topic, either. Obviously you shouldn't digress the entire time, but one interesting topic can lead to another.

    3. Would you be willing to be a guest?

Sure! Whether I'd be a very interesting guest, however, is a different question..

    4. Do you have any questions for us to answer in our first podcast? They can be serious and site-related, or more fun (in case you've always wondered what Asch's favorite color is).

    - Is mayonnaise an instrument?
    - Who is your favorite character on TS that isn't yours? Why?
    - What was your most embarrassing dice roll? What was the result?
    - You've heard of the #NoArmorChallenge, but would you be willing to embrace the #VocationsOnlyChallenge?

    1. TerraNow!

    2. I don't really listen much to podcasts so I don't think I can add much in that regards but personally, I'd definitely enjoy it to be a lighter, easy, atmosphere?

Oh, actually, unless these things are supposed to work like that I hope whatever topics are getting spoken about that they don't drag on too long? If there's a lot to say about something that is all good but personally I don't like it if people need 5 minutes to explain something that only really needed 30 seconds.

    3. Ja, natürlich!

    4. Slimegirls, when? Oni-race, when? Asian-continent unlock, when? Will there be a bigger focus on the real-life aspect of the game too?

Also, have a random music suggestion this.

Just a lil disclaimer, since this isn't directly produced by me, it's considered unofficial, meaning y'all should take some information with a grain of salt unless I confirm it in writing!

Nevertheless, great job, hoping to hear more of y'all in the future!

    ^^^

50+ plays! congrats, guys! that's huge! practically everyone on the site's listening; you've become one of tsrp's first and best celebrities!

so i actually started just trying to write down my thoughts as i went along and then it became a full-blown LOVE PARTY because I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT AND I CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW GREAT THIS IS. gauhriuehriuehruiwehruiwehuihdsf

you guys have amazing presentation skills! your voices were clear, distinct, and confident! one of the best things i like to hear (personally) is a radio host having an AWESOME personality (which you guys both have)! everything feels natural and warm and you guys managed to do that without any hesitation or much stuttering (well, except for dorky asch! haha, listening to him like think his words thru and using so many filler words is charming so i think guest speakers would bring that fun, relatable awkwardness to the table while you guys [shibs / briar] are the charismatic ones that keep everything in place; like a stake at a camping tent!)

everything was put together so nicely! you guys put in both humor and info in 30 minutes...I LOVE IT. dem brick jokes! dat mcdonalds super size! dem loot boxes ;>

    1. asch's segment was hilarious! i love how you introduced him with some humor, kept in the blooper, and dat censor (lmao xD). your interview with him was great. you guys really highlighted some of the coolest features to the events recently and asked questions that caught the listener's attention (e.g. why or why not join a certain event thread; bandit king vs reclamation)!

    2. the tips were awesome (e.g. about character creation and about what TSRP is)! I totally agree that everything supposed to be fun and there's no pressure to stick out or to conform; just play what you want to play! do what you want to do! be an edgelord! be a potato!

    3. awesome audio quality! there's no background noise, the sound is all regulated to a crisp dB, and everyone's voices and words were clear! normally, when i listen to brand new podcasts out of curiosity, i have to turn my volume up or concentrate carefully (sometimes rewind!) a certain clip. i didn't have to do that once in the entirety of the episode!

    4. i really love the question and answer format and how you managed to crunch everything together for time! you guys managed to squish together difference questions while keeping the original thought behind it and the answer was detailed and accurate to what the question was asking!

    5. chronomancy: the ability to fast-forward in time by 3 minutes so you can eat instant noodles...instantly!

    6. shibs + briar = JOKE SQUAD! so many laughs OwO

    7. vincent cain 4 new meme! I actually haven't checked his RP things (or much of anyone's lately since i've been on a fanfic spree) and now i think tomorrow i'll be stalking his posts cause INTERESTING CHARACTER ALERT!!! inb4 the 'New Posts' feed on tsrp is gonna be flooded with vincent cain RPs cause everyone wants a piece of him! he sounds so fun to RP with! :DDDDD @Vincent Cain

    8. IKR! ashifili / cain is awesome! gahhh! ashi's cain RP is so fun, exaggerated, and spontaneous! SHOUT OUT TO ASHI, YOU'RE AWESOME! Whenever i read his rps from the threads we were in, he always does something that just bursts your head. like, one minute you're acting out a theatrical play and the next moment Cain Darlite just stumbles in and everything goes into glorious hell! suddenly, someone's a woman, there's a pregnancy, someone's about to vomit in a maze fields, and you're just like 'wut'! cause, i've got nothing on the one-man machine that is cain and he just goes on and i can only just try to follow up as ashi just introduces so many new variables, actions, and twists! @Cain Darlite

    9. daww, u so sweet asch. i promise that alpha's gonna crash ur next party! i was just listening and then u mentioned alpha's name and i was like O.o and then i swear my face just lit up! haha, thanks for making my day asch! my favorite NPC would probably be zeus! he's just so funny, completely unpredictable, and just plain awesome! like seriously, when i first read his post i was like 'wut' cause you'd think that this old burly guy who's the leader of some mighty faction would be kind of threatening and then he just cheerfully startings laughing and boasting and it's just zany and I LOVE IT! #zeusappreciation cause he's so unexpected and his character is so vibrant; every dialogue post he makes is great and i love how you turned him into this thrilling, excitable character with some obvious flaws and some obvious strengths in just a few posts and dialogue; he's got a story and everyone wants to hear it!

    10. now i know what was going on with the pasta carbohydrates status updates. y u do dis asch.

IM SORRY THIS IS SO LONG I JUST WANNA GUSH ABOUT HOW I LOVE THIS RADIO PODCAST THING SO MUCH QUQ

    YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

and omg briar's a radio DJ so kewl owo (everyone already knows shibs was a history teacher! which is super kewl too! PUNS!)

    SCORE: 5398450943890534 / 10

TL;DR I'M SO PUMPED ABOUT THE NEXT ONE! EVERYTHING'S GREAT, THE MUSIC SELECTION IS GREAT, YOU GUYS ARE GREAT, LIFE IS GREAT! THIS JUST MADE MY DAY (AND NIGHT, OR TECHNICALLY TWO DAYS SINCE IM LISTENING TO THIS AT MIDNIGHT!)

    *incoherent squealing*

    *dies*
