    Oh bless you girls.

Even from behind the frontlines, Alkaid could feel a bit of heat from all the pyromancy being thrown around. And oh, did it feel oh so good. She was lucky enough to have noticed the spheres were almost taken care of and was mostly dressed by the time she was teleported, but after spending so long relaxing in the spring, she was still getting her just desserts in the form of the jarring teleportation and returning to that abhorrent, biting cold.

In fact, she could barely pay attention to the Bandit's King's speech as she was far too busy freezing her tits off. Still, she got the gist. "Blah blah blah let me paint you as bad guys despite my kingdom being built on thievery and ransacking blah blah blah Daddy didn't love me enough."

Well, she wasn't going to take the moral high ground, anyway. Even the murder hobos who came for loot were better than her, who came along simply out of interest.

With a wave of her hand she sent her cards spiraling around her, which then led to her analyzing both the cards and the battlefield. First targets to attack were probably the entrances that begged to be crushed, lest reinforcements arrive, and that noisy mage who simply had to be an eccentric player, although why she was with the bandits was anyone's guess.

Glancing over to @Freja Sitka, who undoubtedly had it as bad as her, if not worse, she then added, "Okay, I've been holding onto them for this whole damned trip on the wagons, but if you can stop that girl from making it even colder, I've got a couple bottles of brandy that'll have your name on it." The woman furrowed her brow as she looked at her cards, "Also, you'll have the best luck flanking her from your left. All the magic coming her way will block her vision of you approaching from there."

The short moment with Temperance fueled Comet for the impending battle. Blank evoked rolling of the eyes due to her appearance. Grabbing her bow the Archer prepared for a fight soon to be worthy of gloating. A fine theme of good vs. evil dominated Terrasphere. Good seemed to persist as cliche as it seemed therefore the pink-haired woman always took the easier, understandable side unless a sort of benefit hid behind being dubbed the bad guy. With tiredness and nausea washing over her body, Comet finally decided to think for herself. Standing as a form of a woman who allowed Envious emotion to control everything from actions to judgment she pulled back her bow with a weakness unknown before. Every inch of her small body feeling vulnerable and itchy and pathetic. The event thus far had taken so much out of her... there wasn't a lot left to give mentally. However, physically Comet knew her luck would persist seeing as the trembling in her hands had ceased to allow focus on the enemy. Taking down smaller obstacles - such a small nuisance - would prove more effective in the end than going all out on the enormous Bandit King with too much HP to be bothered with at the moment. Her arrows pierced as thought: ineffectively. Running both hands through slick locks she began to fall to the force of negativity, worry, and absolute despise all tearing at her body that seemed to have changed after honest self-acknowledgment.

How the hell was Destiny supposed to make sense of any of this when she’d just been spun around a wash cycle and dumped in the courtyard feeling like she’d just woken up with the worst hangover ever? She spent her first turn puking in the corner of Zone 7, a fun little detail the game designers had clearly decided would be every bit as fun in VR as it was in real life. Loved it. Loved that realism.

Wiping the corner of her mouth on the back of her hand, the black-haired woman cast her gaze around the courtyard. Lions flying everywhere, running towards the ice-mage, towards the so-called Bandit King. She kicked and struggled out of the knee-deep snow, taking a deep breath. Hell, where did she even start with this kinda thing?

Well, getting her bearings could wait. Something caught her eye that wasn’t a flurry of magical energy or light glinting off of metal—something small, and furry, and scampering across the top of the snow like it weighed nothing. “Where the hell are you going?” Destiny followed the fox’s sight line and saw an entryway far to her right. A way out. And a way in, she reminded herself, gaze sweeping over the fighting bandits and realizing that reinforcements could turn up from one of those gates every bit as easily as the Black Wolves had been resurrected in the first round.

Before she knew what she was doing, she was moving, cursing, sprinting after that stupid animal and towards the egress in Zone 8. The lean woman ducked as fire shot over her head and turned back to see little @Velka, using that damn handy pyromancy she’d showed off before in the wagon and later in the orb. Part of the exit crumbled under the attack and Destiny’s blue eyes widened a little. If we can take that down… Well, it’d mean they could fight without having to watch their backs, and maybe that the Bandit King wouldn’t be able to scurry away either.

Lowering her head and putting her arms into it as she puffed, struggling through the snow, Destiny turned out the sounds of battle and focused on the entrance. All she had to do was get there, and then… well, then she’d figure it out.

    Karma. What a bitch.

Sure, in the real world, Emma was a sleuth and probably could have figured out the spheres’ riddles on her own eventually. But that was out there. Here, Freja had a bath, drinks, and company; let the rest of the group figure out the puzzles, she thought. If they take a while, that was more time to kick back and relax, she chuckled to herself.

And then came a great flash of light, and still sitting down, she found herself piled under a solid meter of snow. Still in the buff.

It took all of five seconds before her upper torso popped out of the snow screaming, hands clutching biceps in vain. Gyaaaack!! IT’S SO DAMN COLD! Nothing brings you back to sobriety quite like the instant transition from hot to cold, like moving from a sauna to a cold bath. Good for circulating the blood and unbelievably uncomfortable if you’re unprepared for it. C-C-Clothes! G-Gotta get them before they’re ch-ch-ch-chilled! And that meant diving back into the snow to find them. Lovely.

Thankfully, they were close by, as was the cocktail she and @Alkaid Zexis concocted. To say it sucked to put them back on while trying to avoid getting any more snow on them, or her, would be the understatement of the century. But she did it, steam from the bath and her own outrage rising from her body and all.

Finally clothed in snow-soaked garb and very, very angry, Freja heaved her axe and glared at the Bandit King and his cadre. Frankly, Freja didn’t give a damn what the Bandit King thought of her or the others. She abjured morality when picking up the game. She had no heart-wrenching past or deep-seated guilts for spirits or bandits to pry at. She fought for money and an indefinable pride in the art.

Looking back at Alkaid, Freja gave a smirk that told all it needed about her mood and motivations. “You got it,” she said, taking one last sip of what was left of her own moonshine, “That girl is fucked when I get over there!”

Her charge broke the excess cold that clung to her. Following Majolica’s lead, she witnessed the cackling girl make frozen, kamikame clones of herself to dogpile onto the ice witch, and caught up just in time to match pace with the needle-like bristles she shot at her shortly after.

It was a near-perfect cut, empowered by magic Freja only subconsciously realized. From Blank’s perspective, Freja must have seemed like a roaring ogress swinging down its axe upon her shoulder to sink its blade into her trapezius.

    “Hraaah!!”

Teleportation... The one thing that Ilya still was not used to. She only just managed to get her gear back from the floor before the sensation hit her and she appeared in a snowy battlefield. Just as she had expected, her stomach churned and vomit came up and out of her mouth. The vile taste that it left in her mouth just as bad as it was in the real world.
It had not been very long before everyone had launched into action, yet Ilya remained on the floor.. Throwing up and shivering from the feeling it left in her.

The fact that her bare skin made contact with the snow, had little to now effect on her. She was a hydromancer. She often made ice, and often stayed in cold areas, which brought about a certain bareness for the cold. Taking the back of her hand after moments of the experience she wiped her lips. Opening her menu she tapped away, her gauntlets appearing on her arms. Her clothing returning. Yet this time, she also attached her long, silky black cloak. She flipped the hood, making it cover her head as she prevented the cold from entering. It also hid her body, which always made Ilya feel more badass.

Having been behind, she narrowed her eyes and began her run. Running from point A to point B was not that difficult. Her legs just moved as she ran straight for the Bandit King. She would leave the others to take care of the Blank.. The ice sorceress. Her job would be to aid @Haru in attacking the Bandit King.

This is like the rescue portal all over again. Good thing she had been familiar with those nauseating experience, else she would be trying not to puke. Now, where is this? As she asked herself, an enormous figure came to greet them. Not Zeus, but the Bandit King himself, arming himself to the teeth. This is it, this is the battle.

Then there's Megan. Wait, why is she siding with the Bandit King? The blizzard quickly envelopes the courtyard, creating a freezing battlefield. If we were to fight the Bandit King properly, Megan needs to be taken down quickly before they all freeze. She does seem like a different person though. Mind control? Either way, Corvella has to toughen up and be ready to hit someone she know in the face with her shield.

Corvella made her way through the increasingly snowy battlegrounds, and after combined effort of the pride they managed to leave Megan defenseless, allowing Corvella to slip near and deal a shield blow right into the ice witch.

“Hehehe! How did you like my illusions and black magic, little dork! Hehehe, don’t worry! I’m not done yet! Hehehe, Grand Witch Majolica is just getting started! Hehe, don’t go running away until I’m through with you! Hehehehe!”

After her first combo made contact Majolica, grinning, readied herself to continue her flurry of attacks.

“Hehehe, no more tricks little fake witch! Now it’s time for you to taste some of my… hehehe… UNLIMITED POWER!”

Majolica threw her broom in the air where it stopped and floated. Then, holding out her arms to her side, she moved into a bracing stance.

“Vanilla equals Invocate times Radical Plumpy equals Invocate times Vanilla!”

The air around Majolica began to reverberate as flickers of dark electrical power began to flash near her.

    “Hehehe… say your prayers… hehehe…”

As black and purple electricity began to pool into each of the Grand Witch’s hands she giggled.

“Hehehe, angle of attack traced and all parameters and boundaries set. I bet you can’t do this! Hehehehe, taste the dark power of my awe-inspiring… Witch bolt! Hehehe”

With that, Majolica slapped her hands together forcing the dark lightning forward ionizing the air as it nearly instantaneously struck Blank.

    Breathing heavy, Majolica kept up.

“Hehehe… hahh…. Hehehe. I’m not done yet! Hehehe, maybe I’ll let you be my assistant someday if you cry and beg enough! Hehehe!”

The Grand Witch wiped some sweat from her brow and whispered to herself.

“One more… hehehe, one more with everything! I can do it because I’m the Grand Witch! Hehehe!”

Majolica changed her stance ninety degrees. Cutting a line in the fresh snow on the ground, she placed her foot horizontal alone the line. Aiming, she held out her hand towards Blank.

“This is it! Hehehe, face the onslaught of The Grand Witch’s most powerful dark spell!”

Majolica closed her eyes and began chanting.

”Error Silly equals Error zero Error Xtreme Plumpy minus two Radical over Witchy Optometrist squared!”

Majolica held the spell in her hands as she looked at Megan with a devilish grin.

“Hehehehe, face your end! Then go and tell any other fake witches that Grand Witch Majolica is coming! Hehehe, you tell them I’m coming! Hehe, and hell’s coming with me! Hehehe! Avada Cadabra!”

A beam of writhing shadows issued form from Majolica’s opened hand sweeping over Blank like a stream of smoke and pitch-black darkness.

Emerath had felt pretty useless as everyone had managed to solve the puzzles of the orbs. Normally this was his forte, but after seeing all the horrors of what this game had to offer, it had really thrown him off his groove.

But that wasn’t even the end of it. As they managed to finish solving the orbs, they were suddenly teleported. And within seconds of landing Emerath found himself retching into the snow from the horribly unpleasant experience. He never did have a very strong stomach. He’d have to certainly work on how uncomfortable that was if he managed to work out teleportation tech of his own.

And then, just as it was with the primadox, the world was chaos in battle. So he tried his best to keep track of those he knew he could get to and help.

Sure enough, Majolica ran off (flew off?) to meet her destiny head on, and while she managed to land the killing blow on the ice mage that was terrorizing them, she was half frozen from it. Emerath ran forward to where the ice mage had fallen, making it a point that the bandit king was his next target, but not without helping his friend.

Lute at the ready, he played the warmest, most upbeat song he could think of, trying to bring warmth to the crazy mage.

Having spaced out till now, Alric was caught off guard as the scene changed and the battle began. This was really it; the reason they had come here in the first place was so close and it seemed everyone was psyched up now more than ever. Although puzzles weren't exactly his strong suit, he was at least half decent in a fight. He'd just have to do his best as well!

Some people ran off to engage the bandits, others went for the king directly, but most seemed focused on taking down the ice mage from the start. A girl the man had fought alongside not too long ago to protect the town of Rivercrest. To think they'd be enemies now… Well, he couldn't focus on that. It didn't matter why she stood against the the Lion’s Pride. She was working with the bandits, so Alric would not hesitate.

But before he could even draw his sword or move in the others had finished her off. With a shrug, he glanced over toward @Nalla and began tracing a spell using his ring. An ethereal chain connected the woman to the spirit of one of the fallen bandits, temporarily sharing his power with her. Considering her ability to wield fire it was safe to assume they'd be needing her power while fighting in this environment.

With everyone attacking Blank, and with her having been defeated Ilya knew that everyone would go for the Bandit King that wanted the iron throne. With careful evaluation, Ilya took note of the entrance behind the Bandit King. I think that the entrance might reveal even more bandits.. Or perhaps the Bandit King will try to retreat. With everyone attacking the Bandit King, maybe I should attack the entrance.. That way no reinforcements, and no exit for the Bandit King... Hopefully someone else thinks the same, and attacks Entrance B...

With a mutterings in another language, Ilya once again began to string at the air as if it were a harp. Her hydromancy taking focus.. Strands of water and ice energy appeared, before she once again, wrapped them around both of her arms. Yet this time, her Paws of Lionelle were on her fists, and arms. @Zero (Using Paws of Lionelle) With the added buff she still had from Vina she launched her body into the air. Using the cold air to create hardened ice blocks she could use to nimbly jump higher in the air.

Her ice blocks disappeared as soon as she no longer needed them. Jumping off the last one she muttered in the air. A stream of water began to form behind her two elbows. Her body launching towards the entrance from above. Her fists let loose as she began to attack the entrance. One punch after another, letting loose all she felt build up in energy. After finishing her small skill she used the entrance to gain footing and once again cause her to leap into the air. Forming another ice block that would keep her above the snowy ground.

The water that had been formed at her elbows then began their own attack. Sliding at the entrance, dealing damage as well. With a smirk of pride, she glanced behind her to see how everyone else was doing.

"What?!" Alpha gasped, her face contorted into an artistic impression of The Scream as Blank made her appearance. She took a step back in horror, brushing shoulders with Cain in the process as the man did god knows what. The sudden contact threw Alpha out of the loop for the bit as she jumped, grabbing for the nearest solid thing available in an effort not to plummet down to the ground. Her valiant effort, and shrill scream, went unheard. Within a second, her back made contact with, fell in love, and eloped with the floor. Hector stared, judging her. She stared back. They stared at each other. It was a staring party. Stare.

A layer of frost crept up onto everyone and it was obvious that, if this went on for much longer, everyone would soon become living popsicle sticks. She entertained that thought for awhile. What would a Roland popsicle taste like? Or a Cain Darlite flavored ice pop? A Destiny Divebird Deluxe? Perhaps that was Megan's goal in her appearance. Maybe she just wanted to start a corporate brand selling human lollipops. Alpha could dig that.

Alpha's eyebrows furrowed, still confused as to which side she should be on.

    She paused. "This...is awkward."

She scratched her head. Had you ever had to fight your rival-turned-friend in the North Pole while your friends were slowly turning into modern expressions of art? Well, Alpha could certainly claim that she had lived it.

She turned to face Roland Rutledge and shrugged. She then turned to Cain Darlite and shrugged. And then, with the shruggiest shrug of all shrugs, she gave Cain a pat on the back. "I believe in you," Alpha said simply. Her face was blank.

She hid behind a broken pillar of ice. What the Ice-Mage-Formerly-Known-As-Megan didn't know wouldn't hurt her, after all. She stared at Hector who was still staring back at her. "Okay boy, your new name is Rudolfo and I am Dictionary Candy. If anyone asks, we're telenovela stars out in the country, got it?"

Rudolfo barked. Dictionary Candy took that as a sturdy yes.

The glacial wall melted, it's source the focus of many others. That just left the entrances. A venue for adds, in all likelihood. Something which might produce a swarm which would reap chaos in what was for now a focused, organized group. For certain, their cohesion in this virtual reality game wasn't so bad thus far, but when zerg rushing wasn't an answer—if they required actual organization—well, what would happen was up in the air.

So the solution was simple. Keep the battle simple, manageable, and there'd be no problem. Not that she relished the thought of running, recent stomach churning considered. Still, adrenaline and subtle winds helped her get in position to target one of the entrances.

Her cards wheeled around her all the while, drawing an increasingly scintillating glow. And oh finally, it's time to let loose!

Swords aligned. The Magician's wand followed shortly thereafter, but its holder was another, one who sat underneath a canopy of stars. In front of him were a pair of beasts, one white, the other black.

Alkaid raised that latest card high, at first to seemingly no effect, although if one listened close, one could hear a faint beat of wings. Once, twice, then a third time—until something whistled in the air overhead, hitting the entrance like an invisible wrecking ball. A section of crushed rubble fell down to the ground, although that was still far from enough.

    Oh, right... things were happening.
Temperance had zoned out, picking at her fingernails with a thin metal sliver taken from her lockpicking kit, waiting for people to finish the puzzle and move on to the next situation. The horrible upside-downy inside-outy sensation of the teleportation made her want to retch but... she was so used to hangovers and her insides hating her that it was almost run of the mill in a way. She doubled over, heaved, and stayed crouched with her hands on her knees for several moments while she tried to collect herself.

By the time she rose again, people were knocking down balconies, melting ice walls, and generally doing everything EXCEPT fighting the big guy that looked to be the boss of this place. Oh well... it wasn't her place to boss people around, or even care, really. She watched for a moment, spotting Comet a short distance away in another zone, firing her bow with what appeared to be ineffectual determination. Smirking, the white mage summoned up some White Magic and sent a buffing spell towards the archer woman, to increase the potency of her attacks for a time. The rogue/healer gave Comet a thumbs up, then turned to see what else was going on. So far, nobody had asked her for healing, so... nap time?

Valdrada found herself on her hands and knees in the snow, fighting the urge to gag. This was worse than any motion sickness she'd ever felt before in her life.

Still, she didn't have time to be down here. They'd been brought right to the Bandit King, it seemed, the very target of this expedition in the first place. And while the battle raged on around her, Valdrada tried to get to her feet and asses the situation.

A young looking magician that people were slamming with attacks. Entryways that others were targeting to collapse them, some people rushing on up ahead to the Bandit King himself. Nowhere that she could get to right now, unsteady on her feet as she was. But, there was something she could do.

She saw a few people were engaging a group of the Black Wolf bandits. She tensed, remembering the first encounter she had with them, when she were frozen with fear and hesitation. No, she wouldn't let that happen again. Grow stronger, grow better, so that you can fight and defend others. That was what Seigi had said to her.

So with a little cry that was probably lost in the sound of battle all around her, she dashed forward to help those who were fighting the bandits.

Once she'd slogged out here, Destiny was pretty glad she'd found an open space that wasn't full of struggling bandits or melting ice walls. Hell, this was a pretty good spot-- apart from the goddamn Bandit King standing right there. "Holy--" Wild-eyed, Des broke off, put her head down, and just kept running. Arms pumping, she gave the axe-wielding man a wide berth and bolted for the doorway. Damn fox. Damn snow. Her jaw ached from clenching it so hard.

Rubble and dust were falling from the courtyard entrance now, deterioration aided by some unknown benefactor. Up ahead of her, she saw the fallen warrior's gray fox scamper up and leap to the top of the molding, tiny claws scrambling. "Goddamn, get down from there!"

Now at a halt, Destiny had to tilt her head back to look at the entryway. It had already taken quite a bit of damage-- hell, anything with enough pep to it could probably take it down at this point. She turned her head, hoping someone else-- with a sledgehammer, preferably-- might be coming to give her backup. Nope.

    The fox looked at her.

"Damn you, all right! Hell with it." Seizing a large chunk of rubble, Destiny staggered to the side of the entrance, clambering up. This is a fool thing to do, she thought, teeth starting to chatter as she climbed higher, seeking a good vantage point on the entryway. Her numb fingers clutched the hunk of stone as she paused, wishing she had some kinda Heroic Might with which she could just chuck the block and be done with it. On the other side of the arch, the fox half-crouched, giving a little yip.

Who's supposed to be the Beast Tamer here? Destiny thought, annoyed. And then she jumped, focusing all her weight, momentum, and force of gravity itself on the soot-blackened portion of the entrance that had already been weakened.

She heard stone giving way and felt rubble peppering her back and shoulders, but the snow itself broke her fall and she covered her head, completely certain the entire entrance was about to collapse right on top of her. A moment passed. Huh?

A single stone had wedged itself in the falling columns, holding them--still--precariously intact. Destiny let out an annoyed breath and scrambled to her feet. Aw...you gotta be kidding me.
