He clambered to his feet as the King took notice, hands gripped tightly on his weapon. This was it. While the others blasted the King from far away with magic and bolstered one another with supportive auras and spells, the old-school tank strode headlong into battle, risking death on the front line.

Steamy breath escaped him as he trudged through the snow drifts toward his victim. The cold air blasted his face and blew the dark locks from his crimson eyes, unmasking the cold fury in them. With a grunt of effort, Kijin hefted his blade...

And unleashed a torrent of strikes on the King of Thieves.

Damn, that hurt..! He barely even had time to get out of the way of that attack. Haru didn't exactly know where on his body to clutch to make the pain go away, and so he didn't bother crumpling to the ground like he normally would. He doesn't have the time for theatrics right now, anyway. People needed help, and Haru no longer needed to recover from that rather taxing attack of his. Not that it did too much of anything other than piss the man off, of course. Furthermore, he was in a position to do so. He searches around him, finding Cain looking half frozen. Well, that wouldn't do. Not at all.

Doing the best that he's able to at the moment, Haru banishes layers of the frost off of his skin. It won't help his temperature rise too much, but it will keep him from locking his joints due to becoming a popsicle related statuette. "Really, I'm terrible at this." Haru found himself muttering to himself in dissatisfaction. He dealt with disease, not with abnormal conditions of the body. Frankly he felt rather helpless at the moment, not really sure if he was actually helping as much as he should be.

"Magico presto magnifico!" Alpha chanted as her wounds began to stitch up. There was a cold chill running up and down her spine but she paid it no mind as she hopped back to her feet. A quick glance at Hector showed that the wolf was fabulously brushing off the snow and sleet from his well-groomed mane of fur. Alpha couldn't help but feel a tinge of envy. His delicate, soft skin was maintained through only the most expensive brand-name cosmetic products known to mankind and the natural oils he produced was second to none. Imagine being slathered with a mixture of honey and yogurt and then being bathed in a cinnamon-sugar scrub on a daily basis. That was the hardship that Alpha had to go through every day for the sake of her wolf's personal image and self-esteem.

She looked at her own greasy, injured skin. "When we're done with this, I'm so borrowing your cucumber paw scrub...the one with the gold flakes in it," she muttered darkly. She looked herself over one more time. It seems that healing spells were no match for doggie day spas.

Eryl could feel her body beginning to shiver from the simulated cold. It was getting worse with every step. Those hydromancers were incredibly adept at their job. But Eryl was determined, she wasn't about to give up because of some pain.

Gritting her teeth, the redhead bent her legs, bringing her full strength into the next blow. Her legs propelled Eryl forward, her blade cutting through the air. It made contact, better than she had anticipated, carving through the Bandit king in a heavy hit. Pride for a moment, filled her, before Eryl felt the sting once more of pain from the frost.

"Good Job!" Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. gave @Nalla a thumbs up in return as they took quick care of the ice-wall! Nonetheless, despite the following beating that not-Megan received, she actually managed to escape. Such a coward, hmpf.

Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. would remember this, too. @Blank

Was this how an actual battle felt like? The smell of charred flesh. The cries of agony. The chaos of battle. And the goddamn freezing weather that the enemy mages made use of! Like, she got literally hit by big-freezy-stuff.

    It's just a game!
    It's just a game!
    It's just a game!

Chanting the same few words over and over in her head, the white-hair made her way closer to the middle. This time, her goal was one of the in snow-covered entrances. Ignoring the disgusting bug-corpse, the girl visualized how the entrance looked as she worked her earth magic - still empowered by Cain.

"Oh, Mutte Erde, erhöre meinen Ruf.
Oh, Mutter Erde, Segne deine Feinde mit unendlicher Liebe.

So dass der ewige Abgrund sie Verschlinge

    —BENZIENA!"

With that, Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. loosened the structure of the castle walls, even more, to make the Entrance collapse completely.

The freeze that hit Ilya as the hydromancers attacked brought great chills to cross over her arms. Her eyes naturally daring to her palm as she opened the user interface. Checking in on her health and temperature status. With a grimace, she looked back up. Growling at the magic users before turning to the area that the Bandit King had ran to.

With a glint of annoyance, Ilya began to charge for the zone in which the king stood. The way that the magic users had upset her was not because she had been injured. They simply did not see what they were doing properly. Ilya was upset that others had been injured as well.

Her body drove forward, until she stood near the bandit king. Her fingers began to move at a fast pace as words began to chant from her lips. Her body then surged towards the king. Her fist made contact with the Bandit King's jaw as she punched hard. Upon slipping away once more, an ice replica of herself appeared, punching the Bandit King before slipping to his feet. Rooting him on the spot, making him unable to lift his feet as they were thus frozen to the floor.

With the entrance taken care of, Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. could feel how, finally, Cain's power left her. "Urgh..." And she was weak, once again. Well, it only made her more excited for what was about to come.

Nonetheless, the self-proclaimed Gottkaiserin was still able to help! Even if not much. "A great Ruler doesn't only know how to attack, but also protect!" With these words, the girl eyed a particular individual out of the crowd.

She was... beautiful in her own sense. A Berserker bathing in Carnage. Yet, somehow, out of her mind? A beast worth taming. "Feel honored, beast! For Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. vill share some of her love!"

Considering how weak her magic originally was, and how the beast became visibly more frozen and frozen, hitting her with a fireball would probably do no harm?

"Lalala, für so einen schwachen Zauber werde ich mir dennoch keinen doofen Spruch ausdenken! —FEUERBALL!"

With her aim set true, the white-hair shot a tiny, flaming ball of heat towards @Savannah Reed.

All things considered the battle was going smoothly. After nodding to Nalla, Alric moved toward the center of the courtyard; a place where he'd be able to get a better view of all the other players and also allow his magic to be able to reach. Despite the layer of snow he was still able to crouch down to try and remain out of sight and brought a hand to his forehead to act as a visor. Although he was fine his observations showed the others were slowly starting to succumb to the weather. Some were doing worse than others. With that in mind he traced another spell out in the air and commanded the fallen spirits wandering the field to swarm the three he thought could use the most help. The souls then latched on to his allies and used their energy to provide a little more protection.

    Cycle 9

Erasmus watched as the adventurers focused in bringing down one of the underground pests - his lips curled up into a smirk. The bandit king had more to him than just a heroic voice that could inspire the mutts under his wing, he had the mind of a strategist. His eyes glanced towards the hydromancers casting their spells as he dealt with continuous attacks from the relentless adventurers. They attacked with reckless abandon, just like the immortals they were. Regardless of their immortality, however, they felt pain, just like the ant they defeated. That alone was plenty enough. Before the ant’s body could hit the courtyard’s floor with a muffled thud, the King shouted.

    NOW! UNLEASH THE SPELL!

His loud voice crashed like thunder as he darted across his previous zone to a new one - just in the center of the courtyard. As soon as he reached his destination, the bandit king stopped on his tracks and filled his lungs with the cold air, letting out a shout strong enough to incite fear on anyone who dared to face Erasmus Jorgensen head-on. That was not all, however, as the hydromancers finally completed their chant. An icle circle formed above the battleground, mana flowing like a tempest and the wind howled like a beast; cryo beams of ice descended upon the adventurers like a judgement hammer, causing freezing damage to everyone especially those already afflicted by the cold.

If things weren’t rough already, they suddenly became worse when shadows blurred out of the snow all around. Highly skilled assassins took action upon those on the backline, making use of the opening Erasmus and the hydromancers set up for them. With movements of great finesse and speed, they darted across the battleground and fired arrows at anyone that would try and support allies. In the backlines, the hydromancers moved towards zone three and started chanting yet again, their song of destruction ever so close to completion with every ticking second.

Oh no nyou don’t! Alagara, ardea de ignia! Ennflarea!

The catmage summoned several frostfire wisps and hurled them against the incoming assassins.

Yet, even after receiving attack after attack, powerful ice magic, and deadly attacks from assassins, these humanoid pests still pressed on like the ferocious and annoying beasts they were. If what he threw at them didn’t matter, then he would just beat them down into submission just like the beasts they were. Like a guillotine of death, his ultra axe was swung in an arc before him and hitting the ground generating a powerful impact against those closer to him. With this opening, the king reached for his cloak and used a potion. One by one, he deflected their attacks and fought back accordingly, his axe cleaving with the strength of a giant.

YOU WILL PERISH HERE. BANDITS, FORWARD. PROTECT YOUR KING AND I SHALL BRING VICTORY TO US.

The last attack that Ilya had preformed had dealt next to no damage. Just my luck... With her HP still dwindling and her energy growing closer to 50%, she felt the brute of the attack on her shoulders. Each blast of ice, sending even more chills through her body. Her figure convulsing as she shivered. The crushing blow that the king had landed on Ilya left a mark as blood began to sprout from the cuts she had received. A small yelp left her body as her knees buckled. Her vision grew blurry as she tried to remain focused.

Her health was definitely falling apart. Without an idea on what to do in sight, Ilya thought over her options. If I can get closer to support? Her eyes naturally scanned the area for @Vina Skysong ... Not seeing her, she got to her feet. Determination crossing her head as she walked to the square that the bandit king had not moved to. A zone with no enemies. Her greatest chance for survival.

Without assurance on whether she could be healed or not she continued her trudge through the snow, her pace very slow as she grunted with pain with each step. Blood continuing to trickle down her head as her normally clean and golden hair was matted with blood. Her bare skin from her revealing clothes being dotted with instant bruises and gashes. Her skin a purple hue as she continued to grow colder.

Finally making it to the zone she had wanted to go to, she once again looked for Vina. Her eyes pleading for help, as she once again fell to the floor. Her lower legs instantly being covered with snow as her hands fell by her side, limply. Her naturally sparkling violet eyes were dull as the pain continued to course through her body.

There was a sudden sharp burst of pain that danced across Savannah’s shoulder blades. She swung around, eyes glinting with ferocious light, a snarl curling over her dark blue lips. But the heat felt good, now that the pain had subsided. Her muscles felt loose once more and there was feeling in her fingers again. She gripped the shaft of her great ax with renewed determination even as the Bandit King skirted around her and escaped back the way she had come, right back into the fray with @Luna Avalbane .

The vision of the white hair caster standing toe to toe with the hulking madman that was the Bandit King only furthered the blood and adrenaline pumping through Savannah’s system. She didn’t understand risk, she didn’t understand danger; she only had Lucia’s words ringing in her ears and the prospect of failing the one command that she had been given.

Wasting no time, she charged the back of the Bandit King, the bloody blade of her great ax cleaving another large arc through the air before it connected with the armor on his back. Grinning, she swung again, unflinching and uncaring about anything other than tearing flesh from bone and taking his head from his shoulders.

This was no longer fun and games. Now, she was annoyed.

The bandit king had held against their onslaughts, summoned his minions, and they had collectively beaten the frozen snot off of the faces of the adventuring party and left many reeling from the brunt of the attack. Pillars of ice. Powerful slams... it was almost too much. She was left badly cut and beaten by the barrage of bullying blows, somersaulting out of the way of the ice pillars fast enough to avoid any further freezing thanks to her acrobatics. She debated throwing more spells at the man, but realized that the best thing she could do to hurt him was to help another.

Nalla? Nalla could hold her own... But maybe another needed a slight edge?
The bard! The one that had been hurling spells at the King alongside her moments ago, as they ignored their roles as supports. Well... she would support him, now. She had already somersaulted well away from the bandit king to avoid the ice pillars and found herself near the man, quickly crossing to him in zone 8. White flames licked at her hands as she placed them on his shoulders, shaking him ever so lightly, gripping him in anger.

    "Make. Him. Huuuuuuuuuuuurt."
With that, the flames spread from her hands to his own, to do with as he might will. She released him, stepped aside to give him a clear line of sight on the bandit king, and began to prepare another spell... to erase the frost from him, so that he could go all-out without fear of freezing.

    Suddenly, everything went to shit.

Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. opinion of 'cold', she had just seconds earlier, was proven foolish as the girl got hit by literally everything.

"Gaaahhh!" She couldn't even cry out in pain as one of those damn sneaky bastards put a dagger into her back, followed by ice raining down above her! It became colder and colder. A slow, freezing death.

As if that wasn't enough, the kneeling down Annette suddenly saw the Bandit King way too close. "Hmpf..." The red-eye wouldn't give him such satisfaction.

    It's just a game.
    Just a game... .

Forcing herself to smirk and stand up again, she was about to say something as the sudden shockwave of his weapon catapulted her away: All the way into another Zone!

Everything hurt. She was still alive, but it hurt. Details were fading in and out, as her vision couldn't decide to be some blurry mess or give her actual useful information.

If there was one good thing about the cold, it was the numbing of pain. Getting back on feet, the Midnight Haired Pervert came into her field of vision. At least the boiling blood stood proof to still being able to kick ass. Just like the beast from before, the man was pretty frozen too.

Bleeding from the back and her head, as well as bruises all over her nearly frozen body, Lady Anette Josephine Liselotte Yvonne Olivia Zella von Brandt I. stretched her hand out once again. "Take zis you stupid pervert and bring us victory! Feuerball!"

Emerath had to take a step back. He had quickly begun to lose all of his confidence, and his self esteem was on a spiral dive into oblivion. As he watched the aftermath of his mistake, he simply had nothing left.

Emerath was a failure. He had failed his team, he had failed the Lions. He had created messes that everyone else had to clean up.

Emerath backed away from the battle, buffeted by the wind and frost, his energy sucked away by the problem he created. He watched wide eyed in horror as everything continued to unfold. But despite it all, they seemed to be winning.

So Emerath stayed to the back, and pulled out his lute. He tried his best to play, to force himself to play. He targeted an ally in the chaos and tried to make the best of it. Keep moving forward. Failure is just an excuse to do better next time.
